#Apple pay has been disabled error in macOS

I have been seeing this error for quite a while now. Today, I tried to resolve it by myself. After a bit of Google searching, I found multiple troubleshooting methods, but none of them worked. Here are the methods I have tried so far:

  • Went to recovery mode and checked the security settings
  • Created a second user account, added Apple Pay there, and then tried adding it back to my original user account
    P.S. I have not reduced the security of my macOS at all.

I would really appreciate any help fixing this. Thank you very much.

Yeah, I am thinking that as well. I have a speculation though! This user account is transferred from an old mac years ago! Maybe something got broken!

You can try doing the following:

  1. Sign out of iCloud and sign back in

  2. Reset Keychain
    Go to Applications > Utilities and open Keychain Access. Select Keychain in the top left and choose Reset My Default Keychains from the Edit menu.

  3. Update macOS
    If none of these steps resolve the issue, you may need to contact Apple Support for further assistance as there could be an account-specific issue preventing Apple Pay from being added successfully. Just like what you said

After a 3 hours call with Apple support nothing happened. I have given up on this! LOL

I will try to reset the whole macOS and start from fresh someday in future. But not anytime soon!

oh I had something like this a couple years ago. Had something to do with the T2 chip as I remember, and having the Wallet configured by a different user or something like that.

Ladies and Gentleman, after going through a lot of pain after a full reset of macOS and a fresh user account (No time machine backup restored)!

I can say that this issue is resolved.
