It’s odd that it’s saying parts are missing as there isn’t any external parts to the AirPods Max.

Have you placed them in their case for a little while, then took them out and tried again?

cuz i had this issue with the second pair i got

and had them replaced by apple 4 times

luckily the last one is working perfectly fine now

but they were not even getting paired
