A few questions for you
- What kind of work do you plan to do at Uni (graphical work, development, video, etc?)
- Do you have a budget range for us to work off of?
- Any unique requirements / or things you care most about (bigger screen, need multiple monitors, etc?)
Sorry for the late response but am doing computer science cybersecurity and I don’t have a budget no I don’t need multiple monitors just a regular screen but I need it to be like a good one and I won’t be like gaming in it as well I will be using it only for uni and maybe watch like sports or Netflix
An M1/M2/M3 Macbook Air will do all of that for you. If you want to spend less get an M1 or M2, if you don't mind spending more spec it up accordingly.
Base model M3 Air should do you well (M1 or M2 if you want to save money). If you’re going to be doing intense apps such as lots of video editing, heavy, heavy multitasking, etc, you may want to spec up to 16GB of unified memory. If you’re really going to be super super intense apps, you can get the M3 MacBook Pro (unlikely you’ll need M3 Pro MacBook Pro). But keep in mind that the Airs these days are very capable
Is the MacBook Pro m2 good as well my friend recommended that too

I mean the only difference is that the M2 MacBook Pro has 2 more cores of GPU which shouldn’t make a difference unless you’re doing graphic design or 3d modeling and that stuff. It also has a bigger battery, but at the same time it’s already 2 years old, so the M3 may last you longer.
But keep in mind that the Airs these days are very capable. I just got the completely basic M3 Air and I use it for tons of things, but mostly Xcode coding and it’s perfect
Cuz my friend he also studies cybersecurity and he uses the m2 MacBook Pro and he said it’s good but like you said it’s already 2 years old but I might as well check the air is it that good?
Yeah, the airs are very good
I am using one right now
Oh then I might go with the airs then what’s the difference between the m1 2 and 3 or shall I just watch a video
You probably will wanna watch a video
Because I can’t write it all here
In short, the M1 and M3 have faster SSD speeds than the M2. The M3 is 60% faster than the M1 and about 20% faster than the M2. M3 will last the longest because it’s the most recent
