IOS 17.2 Battery drain and Heat issue on Iphone 14 Pro Max

Hello, I have issue with my Iphone i didn't use my phone is sit on my desk and after 1 day is 50% left and if i use drain more. Sometimes i share my 5G with my laptop with usb cable and if i start download files my iphone heat up really badly.

My phone is 4 month old and my battery is 100%.

When i bought my phone i had IOS 16.5 i think and it doesn't had any issue with battery drain and heat up i really regreted it to update IOS 17 and i cant downgrade back to IOS 16.

I tried reinstall my frimware with itunes but the exactly same. I way to scared to update IOS 17.3 its makes worst. I also had the back camera sometimes cant focus and create noise pictures i cleaned the lens too. (i use lens protector glass)

What can i do?

For issue 1, stay up to date with iOS. 17.3 is significantly better in battery life. (40-50% background activity over half a day is mostly normal)
For issue 2, the best way to remedy camera issues with a lens protector is to take the protector off.

Thanks, it is possible to go back to the 16 area and up to date with 16 versions not 17?

There's no way to revert back to iOS 16, all versions of it are unsigned (except for the security update versions for 8 and X).

Okey, its a little weird but now i just leave my phone on the desk and after half a day -50% drain insane i didnt touched the phone

I usually say this, but the 14 pro models are known for their bad battery, if that helps anything

What home/Lock Screen are you using? Is it the astronomy/weather one? Or is your phone constantly lighting up with notifications

No i use the default one not the astronomy. Basic 14 wallpaper version idon't had any widget on it

Have you tried contacting apple to see if they have any ideas on why this is happening?

1. New os updates literally always bring improvements and the heat / battery „issue” is normal
2. That’s just the nature of lens protectors

Old iPhones always drained the battery fast and stayed on the warmer side lol stuff like 5G is only making it worse

That’s just how iPhones are bro get a Samsung idk

Also use low power mode bruh

I switched from Samsung after 13 year of android using.:( my friend don’t had this same iPhone 14 Pro Max. This only happened when the iOS 17 released maybe 17.3.1 is fixed?

In Apple forum i got a link where I can send a ticket for this issue I did

If I may pitch in, I noticed that what’s app used 20% in the background

Maybe try deleting and reinstalling it (as long as it has been backed up beforehand)

take a look at general > background app refresh, turn it off for whatsapp

that will probably fix it
