#iOS 17.3 question

All users need to have an active Apple Music subscription to create or use collaborative playlists on their iPhones and other devices.
Ugh ok.
I was hoping that a friend of mine and I would've been able to share a playlist together without the need for both of us to have Apple Music subscription, and just one of us, BUT OF COURSE NOT.
You can add your friend to your family plan if they have an Apple ID.
They have an Apple ID, but it's not my own family plan, it's my mom who created the family plan, and they already have 4 or 5 people on it, so unless it's unlimited, I don't think he can be added.
