Refurbished Apple Watch or Series 9?

I currently own a 1st Gen Apple Watch SE, but I’ve been thinking about upgrading. The Series 9 looks cool and the Double Tap seems fun to use, but is it worth getting over a cheaper series 8 or 7? The main thing I want is AOD, but I don’t know if I’d be missing out on Double Tap. Please help :))

You can use double tap on other apple watches that aren't series 9

its just hidden in accessibility settings
