Hello! Just a few questions.
- What condition is your iPad in? (Can you send a picture?)
- Have you taken it to any other Apple Stores?
- How was your iPad damaged?
Q1, It is in great condition
2. Yes
3. Very negligible
Concerning question two, has the answer been the same at different locations?

Dead speaker and microphone
Any water exposure?
None, but there might be echos to humidity
So, in this case, what I would suggest if Apple won't repair it, due to the age of the model of course, is to take it to a third-party repair shop such as iFixit or UBreakIFix. Places like those can repair them for you if the damage isn't too extensive.
Tysm!
The original iPad mini is tagged with “obsolete”.
That means Apple will not repair it. You will have to take it to a third party repair shop
Unfortunately I forgot about this bit of information. My apologies.
No worries!
I always check Wikipedia’s iPhone and iPad list when handling older models
I'm just so tired right now haha.
@torpid surge If that's all, then this issue is resolved. DM me if you have any further questions.
I’m just gonna leave this here:
Obsolete: iOS Devices that were discontinued 7 or more years ago. No longer eligible for repair worldwide. Example: this iPad Mini 1st Gen
Vintage: iOS devices that were discontinued between 5 and 7 years ago. No longer eligible for repair outside of the US, Turkey and France. Example: iPhone 6
Unsupported: iOS devices discontinued less than 5 years ago that do not support the latest version of iOS. Example: iPhone 8
Supported: iOS devices that have been discontinued but still support the latest version of iOS. Example: iPad Air 4
Current: iOS devices still in production. Example: iPhone 15
