#iPhone 11 to iPhone 15 pro/pro max

There's always going to be issues with a new iPhone release. Media tends to make it a bigger deal than what is actually going on. For example, the discoloration can be solved with a cloth to wipe away the fingerprints. The overheating issue impacts a small sub-set of users and they'll likely address in a software update. We had one person here get a full phone swap cause their 15 Pro battery failed diagnostics at the Apple Store. Stuff just happens, 16 might have its own issues.
Would the 16 be a really bigger upgrade
I plan on going from an 11 to a 15 Pro Max. The “issues” are overblown, and that will be a very nice upgrade
Especially depending on the current condition of the phone, probably not worth waiting a whole year
We have no idea. It’s an entire year away
4 years of regular use on a phone will put you pretty close to the battery becoming problematic.
exactly . When my friend asked me i was blank
Because if he asked me in 2024 near September i would be in a position to answer logically
Every answer or point helping his decision i make right now would be pointless speculation
That's also technology in general. Endlessly waiting till the next big thing comes out = never upgrading. There's always issues and a new one around the corner.
Personally im pretty ok with my 14 PM but coming from an 11 id suggest to get the 15 pro or pro max
For sure, for most people I would suggest not upgrading unless you have a 3 year old phone or older. Or if you're say on a regular 13 and go 15 Pro that's an upgrade both in two generations but also a product line shift.
I see
Nothing in the 14s warrants a move to 15 unless you just love having the latest and greatest. I used to upgrade annually for that reason alone.
True
Well i do love having the latest and greatest but sometimes there are budget constraints lol
right.
So id suggest the friend to go for the 15 based on some questions like battery health usage etc
Yep, and also don't let them get any FineWoven products.
Those are absolute garbage.
There's a lot of articles and first hand accounts of them scratching on the first day and looking bad.
Thankyou all for your help . Everyone here is amazing and helpful i really appreciate it
