it won't...you have to unable USB debugging(in apple words saying yes to the notification and giving permission for that macbook to access) for it to work between macbook and the iPhone need to unlocked for that to open

I imagine you might be able to put it in recovery mode and then reinstall iOS to it. But you would still be faced with activation lock.

But if you do that, you wouldn't be able to recover any of the data to on the device.
