So I'm planning on purchasing an Apple watch, I have been waiting for a redesign for either the 41mm or 45mm and I'm impatient, so I was wondering what is a good apple watch for a cheap price. Looking for a
-brand new
-series4 or above
-worth the bucks(im on a budget)
-mainly for sleep tracking, steps, messages, unlock devices, time and basic things. Preferably with aod and with cycle tracking.
I'm thinking of like an se but idrk if its that good, i just want an apple watch to like pass the time while waiting for redesign

Apple watch series 5
actually
no
get the SE
you’ll just be missing out on the AoD
SE honestly isnt worth it
its barely any cheaper than the flagship and you get about a 10th the features
you can get a series 6/7 on apples refurb store for about the same price probably
and if you want to get a flagship in the future you can get a series 4/5 on ebay for quite cheap
im on a series 4 rn and its still fully upto date despite not doing much. i want to get a series 5 for the compass, but if you dont want a compass the series 4 will be more than enough as just like an in-between until you buy a flagship in the future
whats the difference between series5 and the se
is the series 5 purchasible brand new from verified retailers
I mean they’ve not been manufactured in a few years, but I’m sure there’s places that have new-old stock. Or I’m sure there’s a few on apple’s refurbished
I see, well what about the seires 6 and on, r they any good for the buck
I think they’re pretty similar feature wise. But you can get a refurb/used series 5 for cheaper than a brand new SE
so the series 5 has more functions than og se?
Series 6 isn’t worth it tbh, I’d say go for series 7 in that case. But at that point it wouldn’t be worth upgrading to a new flagship unless you wait quite a while
Oh yeah by far
It took them like 6 years to add a compass to it 🤣
so is the only difference from series 4 and 5 is a compass?
I think there’s a few more, but that’s the main one for me cos I use mine a lot for navigation
It’s really hard to tell which direction I’m going. I have to walk a few meters and see which way the dot goes and go in the opposite direction
what about find my location
does the series 4 send
But no difference other than that?
I think there’s a few
But I wouldn’t know off the top of my head
If you go onto apples comparison page you can select a few different models and it gives you a list of features and compares specs etc
If you want my recommendation, find a cheap used/referb series 5 and upgrade to a new flagship in a year or two, or get a series 6 or 7 from apple’s refurbished store and use that for a few years
Oki
tysm ill prob get the 5
Does 5 have aod
^i cant find any refurb apple watches from the apple store, is there any good websites/places i can get a refurb/brand new series5
or should i just get brand new se
just compass and aod?
And a couple of small things like different materials and more onboard storage
Oh, i see, what about se1 vs se2?
They’re pretty similar, the main difference is the generation gap. SE1 was 3 years ago with S5, SE2 is recent with S8.
So basically three extra years of usability.
I see, what about fucntions
Not much, really
