If you do not Ascend, you Will gain less and less SPs

Ascend and your gains will be high again

Most of your coins come from the Ascension CpS bonus. Most of your Slayer Points come from the Soul Reaper bonus.
Those bonuses only increase when you ascend.
Don't think about ascending as resetting your progress, but instead as reaching the next level in the game. Ascend often.

your minions will get you your divinity points

which will help you in the long run

and is pretty much gated behind time

everything else, including getting your souls, should be by active gaming
