#UX: make crits feel eventful

A lot of the game is centered around your crit %. Crit upgrades tend to be behind sizable SP checkpoints, at many stages of the game: critical culling early on, divinities like hyper critical later, gear upgrades.

However, there is no "exciting" indicator that crits have happened. Other games change the color of the damage, or size of the damage font on a successful Critical hit. While there's no damage on screen for idle slayer, maybe some sort of "Crit" Indicator could be used, on a successful critical hit? As it stands, getting upgrades that increase your Crit chance feels forgettable, even when the extra SP should be the main selling point.

There's literally a sound for that

When you crit

Skill issue ig, I don't really notice it

I'm advocating for a visual indicator

#

Paid attention, sometimes enemies burst into a purple cloud instead of coins. Is that a critical hit?

#

Pretty subtle if so

Could've easily mistaken it for a dark enemy for example (wasps, carniplants?). It's not super intuitive like "whoa my critical chance DEFINITELY went up!". Doesn't feel "cool" in a way

what would the point of having a super clear visual effect when you are mostly being so fast you can't see shit? on top of beinga ble to see a bigger number growing at the bottom

I was thinking, maybe something similar to the shading effects left by arrows or so ? These are very noticeable and pretty cool feeling when you get the enchanted arrows upgrade, dark projectiles

what you want is a crit counter, which it's "useless", so prob won't get added in a very long time if ever

Yeah not necessarily what I want. Also how would that be useless if it's enhancing user experience in a game?
