While it seems the most commonly-suggested solution is to get more feathers from Weekly Quests. I think this is a bad idea, because it just puts a bandage (and a small one at that) over the real problem - these armory items can't be grinded for. We use feathers for 30 seconds, then we are locked behind another 7 days of just waiting, without being able to do anything.

My best solution that I have come up with is to either completely rework Weekly Quests and their rewards, or to make Simurgh Feathers obtainable from some other source that isn't locked behind just pure time.

Please leave your support and thoughts, hopefully this will get some attention from Plab copiumpoor

I know this has been discussed many times before, so don't 🔁 this.

TL;DR there's no tldr, read the whole thing

With the new Inner Power nerf, armory has become the most important thing endgame, after setting up the Idle stones. It is what allows Idle gameplay to supply players with the SP we need for those expensive endgame upgrades.

However, it takes a ridiculously long time to get a good armory setup. Swords, shields, and daggers just take a lot of time, but we're able to grind them (Badge Boosts for swords, Chest Hunts for shields, and Ascending Heights for daggers.

What I'm specifically talking about here is Boots, Armor, Helmets, and the new Axe. These all take feathers to craft, and currently this is a huge problem. Every endgame player will always complain about this, and for good reason.

Mouse121 and I have done the math, and the time it takes to get a Boreas Boots with Coin Pickup, assuming an average of 2-3 boots / week, is 13 weeks. That is a ridiculously long time. Armory should be something we can grind, not open 3 boots, get bad boots, and boom! Nothing more for a whole week!

Keep in mind, that this is non-excellent boots, and what about Armor, Helmet, and Axe? How long will we have to wait?

Plab, you cannot keep adding more items that require feathers, while also making said armory items necessary for soul gain (by nerfing Inner Power).

theres is a 5.61% chance you get an armory chest per chest hunt that means to get a kishar with giant souls requires 630 Chest hunts now sure thats grindable but are you really going to be grinding that many chest hunts you say you want more grindable methods but its not like theyre any better

Yeah, there are time-gated mechanics in an idle game. It comes with the territory, does it not?
Sure, pulling 2.6 (on average) boots per week isn't exciting. Getting a pair of boots with Coin Pick Up Bonus is, at most, a 26% chance. 17.3% if you don't include Adranos.
2-3 weeks on average for an "acceptable" pair of boots is more than fine. That's just the meta, though.

precisely noone is forcing you to go fully meta armory its complletely fine to level adequate gear to progress whilst going for the meta gear

What if there was some compromise like keeping the weekly quest, and also having a new divinity so theres a low % chance on getting a single feather on something like a perfect bonus stage 3 clear, ascending heights perfect clear, or boss kill in under x seconds?

To be clear, not saying all of those options should have that in place. Plab can pick just one of those options and tune the % chance as low as he would like it to maintain rarity while allowing the active player base to very slowly make progress.

Hell, if they want to make it REALLY restrictive imagine it being a low % chance of getting one for getting diamond in the ODM mini game or only during limited time events

Part of the problem here is allowing new players to advance—obviously (due to this being an incremental game) newer players will never be able to catch up to the older players, and that’s okay. But the difference in my opinion should be a spear achievement or two, not significant endgame progress. I certainly don’t like the thought of perpetually being an update or two behind because I took a year or two off of playing before returning. Now I’ve managed to get an acceptable armor, but that leaves me with helmet, boot, and axe to get. So 3 weeks is fine for existing players, but what about new players who have to do that four times over? And by the time I get fine gear I’m sure more will be introduced and I will be perpetually behind.
