The previous post said 20 hours per week. Is the 20 hours per month accurate here?
Turn-based RPG, 18 month contract, 1,500€ per month, 20 hours per week
can tell i'm doing eight things at the same time
I was like damn ok, that pay looks suspiciously high 😀
Too many things not enough hands
Ah dang, i got very excited about 20/month but i don’t think i could swing 20/week plus my actual job
only eu-eligible?
no idea
Hmm, I might actually be able to do this one
Will have to see about some other things...
Anyway if you put my name down I'll see if I can fit it around other obligations or not
DM please otherwise i'll forget
Hmm, I’ve spent some time making RPGs in Gamemaker. Might as well.
This would be such a lifeline honestly

Yeah, they accidentally doxxed the emails of all the people they rejected because they sent it in a mass email...not only that but they didn't add the recipients in alphabetical order so you can basically see the order they added your name to the recipient list of rejections.
I think anyone who got rejected dodged a bullet.
that's exactly what it is for
plus, they have a discord and I joined to just...idk get a feeling for the vibes of everyone...and everyone was super chill and cool...except the main dev
like, as soon as I realized it was a larger discord I backed off because I wasn't trying to intrude on their community...so I just tried chatting and what not with people, was having good convos and what not...but got accused of spamming
then I rejoined today after the rejection letter was sent because I thought the game seemed neat and did enjoy the convos I had with other people, and thought the vibes would be better now...and something happened where they outright just didn't read the conversation and were bein passive aggressive af
idk if they are just stressed or what, but screw em, seems like the rejection was dodging the bullet because I got some...vibes...
lmao im the second last rejection
load of real names in there tho
yeah, I would feel bad for them, but honestly they pissed me off and made me feel real singled out when I was trying to be a nice dude and integrate into their community
which sucks because literally everyone else seemed hella cool
I haven't put my name down at all, but I have been aware enough of what this entire job post has been for (I won't name it myself though)
Tragic
i didnt bring this up earlier but 1500 euro a mknth for 80 hours comes out to like US$20/hr. in most parts of the US that's reeeeeeeally pushing it for any technical job. i didn't bring it up earlier because i couldn't find out where they're located and in some places that's a reasonable wage, but in combination with the other stuff that's been brought up here i now have a lot of questions about how seriously they're taking this whole thing
their post mortem that they sent out to all rejected applicants said they got people who worked on AAA, senior level devs, etc all applying
and yeah, their original posting is less than entry level programming wages here in the states
average is something like $25
but they wanted someone who shipped a commercial game and like 3 years of experience
lmao
yeah, as soon as I saw the reqs they had I knew I wasn't gonna be in the running if they actually got what they were asking for lol
that said, there were some good general bits in the post mortem about things to not do and things to do when applying
some obvious in hindsight things I screwed up on even, so I if nothing else learned from it
-# still salty I was in like, the top 10 to be rejected first though, even if it was because of a footgun I pulled the trigger of
did they actually list out the names in rejection order? hilarious
I gotta assume
and my thoughts on it are that email recipients aren't randomized, they are preserved, and that I know for certain that I got rejected fairly early on because after a poor interaction the day they opened the listing, I basically told them off.
I mean, I didn't actually tell them off
but I knew that the way I responded could be taken poorly and they did confirm it to me via discord that my initial reaction 100% screwed up my chances entirely
