It would be a good idea to add a chat during the fight, as well as a chat filtering system that covers up all the bad words. The button to turn on and off the chat, the button to activate the chat during the battle and the button to disable censorship too.

I think it was designed with the intention not to have a chat... ever... Chat opens up a can of worms that you have to contain over and over. Fun idea for making friends, but there are other means, it isn't really 100% necessary. Also for every platform it is on, there is a built in communications for said platform.
I still enjoy the idea of voice chat though... I will have my dreams!

The steam text chat, and I am not 100% sure on EGS, I think they have something similar, but my brain could just be filling in details for things to make sense.
