  1. change the tcp port in the config-file to 80,
2 port forward 80 in your router
  2. in your router, set an static ip for your hosting machine
  3. for your domain, set an A-Record to your hosting machines ip
#

when you open a domain in your browser it will default to the http port which is 80, thats why you have to use port 80

#

The Webseite itself is preconfigured by the plugin so you dont need to do anything with that

prisma mirage
#

Awesome

#

I’m gonna try it

ripe panther
#

nice. But please be careful with port forwarding, there are a lot of bad people out there

#

when you forward, make absolutley shure that you understand what this port is doing

#

feel free to ping me if you have any more questions

prisma mirage
#

I am I work in networking I just could not figure this out

#

are you good with minecraft servers I have another question

ripe panther
#

Maybe xD. Whats your questions

prisma mirage
#

So I am able to connect my server and my friend is but on minecraft its saying it cant connect even tho I can

#

and its annoying cuz my MOTD isnt showing up

#

should I forward UDP, TCP or both

ripe panther
#

Yeah thats a problem with ne never minecraft version, I think ther is no other fix for that than spamming refresh xD

#

Tcp should be enough

prisma mirage
#

ok

#

it says that for everyone thats the annoying person

#

anything else I need to alter in settings?

ripe panther
#

nothing that would matter for the general setup

prisma mirage
#

ok

#

Ugh so I can connect with my internal but when I try my external it just takes me to my router config

#

do I need an SRV record since Im trying to use a specfic port

ripe panther
#

did you use the ip of your router or your hosting machine for the A-Record?

prisma mirage
#

yes my static Ip is set on my router and its pointing to to the router using the a record

ripe panther
#

The A-Record should point to the static public ip of the machine which is actually running the minecraft server

prisma mirage
#

yeah thats what it is pointing to

ripe panther
#

you just said its pointing to the router

prisma mirage
#

I have port 80 forwarding to the same ip that im forwarding the minecraft port to (25565)

ripe panther
#

ok so you are 100% sure its pointing to the minecraft running machine

#

and people outside your network are able to connect to the minecraft server?

prisma mirage
#

yes my friend and I are currently connected to the server and hes not at my house. And I am 100% sure that port 80 and port 25565 are pointing to the same IP address (Which is the IP adress of my server)

#

I am 99% sure once I can connect thru my external IP I will be able to do the same thru my domain

ripe panther
#

yeah

#

ok thats wierd

prisma mirage
#

I know right

ripe panther
#

So if you open the externel ip of your server it just defaults to the gateway ip or what?

prisma mirage
#

huh

ripe panther
#

did you set "webserver-port" to 80 in your dynmap config?

prisma mirage
#

yup

ripe panther
#

and what is happening if you open that external ip in your browser again?

prisma mirage
#

If I open it on my server it forwards to my router login page

#

and on my pc im playing on its the same thing

ripe panther
#

thats really wierd

#

ok then I guess try the normal webserver port 8123 and a srv record

prisma mirage
#

already tried before I contacted

ripe panther
#

same problem?

prisma mirage
#

hold on let me change it so I can give you exacts

#

_dynmap._tcp for the SRV Name?

ripe panther
#

I guess

prisma mirage
#

this is so fucking confusing

#

yeah I changed all the settings and still no

ripe panther
#

have you already tried opening "<externel-ip>:8123" in your browser?

prisma mirage
#

same error

#

thats what I just tried

#

but again internal IP is working just fine on server so its something with the router

ripe panther
#

I guess something with your firewall/portforwarding is wrong then

#

Have you also opened the port on your servers firewall?

prisma mirage
#

Im turning my firewall off to test this

ripe panther
#

Maybe trying reading router logs

#

I dont know either sorry

prisma mirage
#

your good thank you

ripe panther
#

I am renting a server in a data center for that

prisma mirage
#

thats smart

#

it was my windows firewall on the server

ripe panther
#

I tought you disabled the firewall?

prisma mirage
#

So did I

#

hey another questiop

#

Any idea why the map is blacking out

plain isle
#

Dynmap only renders existing chunks but doesn't generate

prisma mirage
#

Oh so in explorered chunks don’t register

plain isle
#

Jo

#

The chunks must be existing jn order to render to it is recommended to pregen chunks with worldboarder/ chunky

prisma mirage
#

huh

#

is that a command

ripe panther
#

Its another plugin

#

You can pregen chunks with the chunky plugin, and then just do a /dynmap fullrender

prisma mirage
#

I downloaded chunky

prisma mirage
#

Is there an API so I don’t have to use the web server

ripe panther
#

for what?
