I have been following the multiple guides on the wiki, however, all of them seem to leave out a crucial bit in setting this up. I use HostGator for my web, I use this because I already have it going for my website/store so I decided to just go ahead and use this to store my map as well, and I use BisectHosting for my MC server. When following the guides, it shows how to setup the configuration file and move the files over and what not, but it doesn't say how to it points to your server. Is there someone with experience in this who would be willing to assist me?

Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
Maybe the support of your hosting provider might help? Never heard of it
I'm rather lost. What haven't you heard of? i was asking for general assistance in how to make sure the plugin actually reads the files from the external webserver. Not sure how that got lost in translation. 🤔
Because this has to with the plugin files I'd assume as it needs to point at the webserver to read the files. I dont think my hosting provider can assist with that.
HostGator as hosting provider i meant
External webserver without direct filesystem access need to use the MySQL storage medium, the external webserver setup with MySQL/SQLite should work
@full merlin did you get it to work?
Refer to my post here for general resources on how to do that exactly: https://discord.com/channels/722722769950998560/1119883579904761886
I recently set mine up this way and utilize NGINX+MySQL to do the job
There's a guide on the wiki on how to set it up as well that you can follow along with.
As an example, you will generally be focusing on these specific files for a NGINX+MySQL database connection:
/etc/nginx/sites-available/<websitename>.conf
/var/www/dynmap/web/standalone/config.js
/var/www/dynmap/web/standalone/MySQL_config.php
Here's a link to the guide on the GitHub wiki:
https://github.com/webbukkit/dynmap/wiki/[Tutorial]-Setting-up-a-standalone-web-server-with-MySQL-SQLite/#to-use-nginx-with-dynmap-you-also-need-to-install-php74-fpm-for-the-webchat-and-php-mysqli-for-the-mysql-interface
There's a few other guides that are located on the right-hand side menu for your specific use case.
If you have anymore questions, please feel free to ask. 👍
