Hi, I've been hosting a minecraft server on my own laptop for my friends and we recently decided to install dynmap to use, however they are not using the same area but when i sent them the (server ip {192.168,etc.} : 8887) it doesn't work showing site cannot be reached, I'm lost for what i should do, any ideas?

Internal ip adresses cannot be accessed from outside of your network

#

Your friends need to use your external ip which is the same for Minecraft

i thought so, i was wondering if the ipv4 would work but it didn't either

#

so for them to view dynmap it would be (myipv4:8887)?

Did you open the port in your router?

fervent cairn
#

yes

#

I double checked it and i opened the ports like i did with the server

If that is not working, you need to allow dynmap through your device's firewall

Then use that same ip with the dynmap port for your friends

Can you acess dynmap using another device on your internal network?

fervent cairn
#

yep

#

i used the internal ip:8887 and it connected

main drift
#

Then your port-forward is incorrect

fervent cairn
#

I'll redo it again but it should be the same as how you port forward a server except i can just do it with tcp right?
