Internal ip adresses cannot be accessed from outside of your network
Your friends need to use your external ip which is the same for Minecraft
i thought so, i was wondering if the ipv4 would work but it didn't either
so for them to view dynmap it would be (myipv4:8887)?
Did you open the port in your router?
Your external ip yes, ipv4 is just a version, can be internal or external ip
If that is not working, you need to allow dynmap through your device's firewall
with regards to joining my server i just gave them the wan ip my router is teling me and they seem to be able to join
oops sorry
I'll get them to try it now
👍
i assume this is the same process as what i had to do when i set up my server a while ago
Want to host your own Minecraft server, but you're confused with how to port forward? Don't worry, it's super easy. This video shows you how to allow the server through your Firewall AND port forwarding! This means that after watching this tutorial, you'll have everything done and ready!
Using an extender, or more than 1 router between you and ...
this was the vid i learnt to port forward my server in
my friend just tested it and it still doesn't work
Yeah, the setup should be the same, dynmap uses tcp only afaik
.

Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
I did i even had my firewall fully off to test it
What does dynmap say on server start?
0.0.0.0 means any IP Addresses. You should not put that in the browser, instead use your minecraft server's IP.
Can you acess dynmap using another device on your internal network?
Then your port-forward is incorrect
I'll redo it again but it should be the same as how you port forward a server except i can just do it with tcp right?
I think so, use https://github.com/webbukkit/dynmap/wiki/Installation#getting-started #6.3
ok it turns out i had the on my router i accidentally put an extra number in the ip -_-
thanks for the help and sorry for the wasted time lol
No worries, glad it works
