it will only work if you have an epic purchased copy and account
the rockstar account itself is, well, a rockstar account, you just create a new one after you unlink since the game license is tied to only your epic account, unlike steam for example where there is some sort of lock which doesn't allow you to unlink licenses

the unlinked rockstar account will just float around after that, and again as i said, should re relinkable as long as you have the correct details of course when you unlink the newer account

and i'm not sure how long this will work for before they crack down on it since the main reason ppl have epic accounts (if not because they got it for free) is ban evasion

i would imagine they don't plan on changing anything before VI but you never know
