For the very first Gather Intel prep, you normally have to follow the directions at the North Dock and return to the airstrip and take the plane back to LS - or you will have to do the whole thing again. Idk if the outfit trick works there or not. For future Gather Intel preps, you can just start a new session after scoping the primary loot (and whatever else you want to scope). If your spawn location is your Kosatka, it will spawn at Elysian Island, which is perfect for the weapons prep.

I've got pink diamond on hard mode on both characters. One with 2 gold in west (and a painting and cash). The other with 2 gold in west and 1 in south (and a painting and cash).
