Luckily fixed for next update
This has been a bug for yearsssss
Im so ready for all of the bugs fixes coming to 1.21.100 lmaooooo
Ikr Im planning on making a big RTX video after the update comes out
saw that
XD
But totally, we just need a huge "The RTX of Tomorrow" update and they need to start making minecraft the prime example of why people want (and need = $$$) ray tracing in basic games. It would also force Mojang/Microsoft to update and refine RTX more often.
Tbh, I see RTX kind of falling out of style in the next five years. It really has just become a gimmick and I feel not many games nowadays even support RTX being enabled really. Minecraft really is a good example of how RTX can work tho, with it being a sandbox you can make it look however way you want
It’s kind of is and isn’t falling out. There are games that now that REQUIRE you have a ray tracing capable card because the game relies on the physics and mechanics. Even if it’s falling out of fashion, it isn’t falling out of the industry because puzzle, open world, and adventure games benefit HUGELY from using ray tracing for gameplay mechanics.
And I only see developers get more excited to require it the stronger our basic hardware gets
If Mojang doesn't outright remove ray tracing (which the VV update had the highest chance of doing but didn't)
Ray tracing should get significant updates down the line.
The hope died when the new generation of consoles advertised RT, but didn't really deliver (AMD is still far behind in hardware RT performance)
If consoles, and potentially one day mobile devices could support Minecraft RTX properly, Mojang would without a doubt start allocating developers to it.
So the issue is that ray tracing is in Minecraft after 5 years is still too niche, not enough players use it, it can't have financial gain for Mojang, and so they just leave it as it is, for the future.
And in the meantime I do my best to create whatever I can to keep it enjoyable and relevant.
Who knows, maybe Mojang comes out swinging in 5 years with marketplace RTX packs (VV is start) -- none of which can realistically match 10 years of effort into a single pack at that point, and as with a good 98% of marketplace content, they'll be made with the sole goal of milking cash.
I like your opinion lol
I vividly remember how excited I was for PS5 and Xbox series X/S launch, several months after MCRTX was abandoned.
Everyone thought that's it! RTX on consoles! We're getting those updates!
That just didn't happen, because the consoles sucked at RT.
Things might change in 3-4 years with the release of PS6
Or next gen consoles for that matter.
You’re so right tho
