I have only played two other soulsborne games, Elden Ring and Bloodborne. Both of those games I had the holy moonlight sword and dark moon greatsword as my main weapon for most of the game. I will soon start dark souls 3 and I would like to know how early it is possible to get the sword, and if I can use it for a majority of the game
#How early to get moonlight greatsword
43 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
earliest you can get it is after 5 bosses excluding any kind of exploit
Ok thank you
Iudex Gundyr
Vordt of the Boreal Valley
Curse-rotted Greatwood
Dancer of the Boreal Valley
Oceiros the Consumed King
Is oceiros a main boss I will come across just by playing the game, or is he missable
Two answer your question fast and simply about 70 percent in game
The boss is optional but not that hard and easy to find with a turtorial
BUT it requires you to defeat the Dancer of the Boreal valley which is considered pretty hard. I personally didn't struggle with this boss but the recommended level is about 50-60 I would say
If you find yourself having trouble with the Dancer or the consumer king, don't hesitate in texting me and I will help you although I would suggest you to play the game and get to the point where you can obtain the moonlight Greatsword naturally.
Secondly: you can't use it for the majority. There are only a few bosses after the consumed king (If you skip the entire game by instantly going to this point and somehow manage to kill the Dancer on a low level you can play most of the game with it)
I hope this answers your question well fellow
Thank you very much. I will probably play throughbit naturally like you said. I got dark moon greatsword really early in elden ring, and Ranni's questline was a nightmare for me to finish. Even if I can't use it for most of the game I will just wait it out until I get it. Which weapon do I use until then which has a similar build so I can have the stats needed when I do get the sword?
You could run Claymore with a crystal infusion
Claymore is in the second area, and the ability use crystal infusions is in the fourth
Bastard Sword as an alternative early greatsword option, both get the same AR
I would lean more towards the Lothric knights straightsword
It is obtainable EXTREMELY early and gets an S scaling in intelligence if infused right
Broadsword is better
I'm only suggesting Claymore/Bastard Sword because they're in the same weapon class as MLGS
more damage
Worse scaling in trade off for a bit more base damage
It has a lot less range though
scaling is only as good as the base AR it has to scale from
range is irrelevant in PvE
Anyway @frosty cove listen to him he is more experienced than me
Stats?
11/18/40 str/dex/int
Thx
Broadsword only requires 10/10 str/dex, which is another benefit it has for non-dex builds
@frosty cove you need 16 strengt and 11 Dex and 26 int to wield the weapon. I would start as a sorcerer and then just level Dex and strength use a broadsword or a Lothric knight sword and level int.
Play as a caster and pray to god when fighting the dancer I guess
Knight will out-perform sorcerer with even a small amount of investment into vitality
I know you said it is really early, but how do I get the Lothric knight sword?
you can farm it from Lothric Knights
Go to high wall of lothric
or you can buy it from Greirat
And farm it
You want to go to the tower on the wall bonfire (search it up on yt if I can't find it) and then just run downstairs kill the knight that's instantly there and repeat
Ok thank you both a ton. Dark souls 3 is downloading, and it will be a while but I'll update here when I get moonlight
