I'm a new player to ds and I need more souls. I'm level 37 right now and have invested the following:
Vigor: 23
Attunement: 6
Endurance: 16
Vitality: 12
Strength: 27
Dexterity: 14
Intelligence: 8
Faith: 9
Luck: 11
And I need enough souls so I can get my stamina and dex up to atleast 20 and my strength to 30. I want to do this so I can A. Get pass the giant in the Cathedral of the Deep
B. Get to the boss and to the next area
Any method helps and I would really appreciate it.

Nah. You either make it sharp or you're losing dps
Then you can lvl faith and lightning blade it for a "dex faith" build I suppose

At that point though shouldn't one just use an axe or maybe a katana?
Why not darkmoon blade on the astora if they level faith?

There's literally no situation where darkmoon blade is preferred over other weapon buffs
