also walk away from attacks (or to the side in case of forward firebreath/flying firebreath/pursuers (which require sprinting)/dash, obviously) instead of rolling through them, stay at his left leg if he does the laser until the attack is finished if he starts it
as general advice, if you're struggling with a boss, watch a SL1 fists only video of it to see how to dodge and punish the attacks that you struggle with
or just a normal hitless kill, but not all boss attacks might be showcased there
also, stand still after you drop down into the arena, midir will end up at your position after the opening attack ends and the attack won't damage you before that
