#Strange bugs and errors

I'm using the Quest 3 headset on Arch, I have an nvidia 3060
I would get logs, but the "Open logs directory" just opens my home folder in my web browser.
Not sure where they're meant to go.

read this carefully - the fixes you need are detailed in the hybrid gpu section
note that you must launch steam with special options, and ALSO steamvr with special options
this assumes its a laptop, if its a desktop when disable your igpu and thats easy fix
this also assumes you have nvidia drivers installed properly - run nvidia-smi to check
thanks for your response. hybrid shouldn't apply to me, i don't have integrated graphics. it's odd to me that my game still streams fine despite these apparent errors.
and alvr's window crashing as well.
what does nvidia-smi say?
so you say it all works? and the errors are just spurious?
I'll have to get that later, my computer is offline, i ran it before and everything seemed fine at the time
that's what i was saying, yes
although maybe the performance was being impacted
but it's a pain because i can't adjust any options when this happens
working with potato quality does not rly count
its falling back to software encoding and not using your gpu is what it probably means
that works add up
it would explain why it runs fine in the steam "waiting area" where nothing is happening
i was running a heavily modded game so i couldn't tell if it was just bogged down from that
solution is to probably reinstall nvidia drivers - which ones are you using?
I'll have to get back to you on that so i can get you a better answer than "the latest of whatever i installed"
I ran endeavour's driver installing script that's meant to get the recommended drivers for my system however.
is there a way i can see if alvr has fell back to software encoding?
by looking at logs
unfortunately i hit this
how did u install alvr?
if you used aur or whatever - use official instead https://github.com/alvr-org/ALVR/releases/tag/v20.14.1
get launcher
yeah everyone is too lazy to update that
