have u tried rebooting your pc after installing new mic program?
i had it pre-installed before, i just had to switch the stuff, tho i can do that now and see
try out deleting both programs and installing this instead: https://download.vb-audio.com/Download_CABLE/VBCABLE_Driver_Pack45.zip

to manually type it
reinstall the program. reboot your pc after
the mic program
re-install alvr?

open the installer, it will offer you to delete the program and install it again
then reboot your pc and see if there's an input
if there is, put vb-cable as your mic input in alvr and windows
if the error is still here, try out this guy's method
