#Alvr driver not loading + slow steamvr startup
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
when I say slow steam startup I mean I get a black steamvr box which is seen in the first image eventually leading to the second image where it cant find my headset, I think this happened when I cleared a bunch of cache but thats a shot in the dark since I have no way of really knowing for sure since ive been on standalone a ton revently
also followed the steps in the troubleshoot area but couldnt find much, in logs it said the driver loaded without issue but I didnt exactly take a deep dive reading logs
i am unsure the GTX 1650 is capable of VR
i am sure, its is :)
ive been specifically using it for years and never had any issues
with 4gb of vram that is quite limited
doesnt feel liek it if you know how to optimize your system and not let random crap clutter
like I said its fine
knew someone was gonna say something about my gpu
well i own 2 of them hence why i said something
cool, we have different experiences evidently
seriously..
My performance has always been fine is my word not enough
I've been using alvr for a long while now i know my specs aren't the issue
4gb IS enough I've PLAYED games with it, half life alyx, vrchat, job sim, walking dead, bonelabs, boneworks, and so many more games so can you please not pin this on shit specs and actually help me
Yes, we have, sorry im being so defensive but the amount of times i ask for help and people just comment on my specs refusing to help me is so annoying
Commenting on it like it's the worst thing in the world even after i say it's fine
I know im just saying
Bad phrasing
I'll check for that now
there is a new nvidia driver version but I dont have it installed, should I install it?
there was also a windows update recently that I already installed
alright well worth saying I think that someone else has the same issue just never provided enough info https://discord.com/channels/720612397580025886/1345631680102142002
also im really not sure since I have no way of knowing when it stopped working but that is around the date I last tested it, only tested it I think friday but it easily couldve stopped working beforehand since I did take a pretty long break from pcvr since I just finished up most of my games
heres the folder of drivers if you need, some of them I feel like I definately dont use but theyre there
alr didnt think so, about to try the zip file of alvr and not the installer, also another thing not sure its normal but it could be my anti virus considering this
I would think so since i never updated my launcher install (I dont think)
from my logs you mean?
oh alr alr
might be blocking vr drivers then? sounds sorta far fetched then again audio devices has crashed my game before
makes sense then since it was a dupe vb cable install
also I absolutely just fixed it in the dumbest way possible
all I had to do was install the zip file of the alvr launcher im sorry I didnt do that first I didnt think it would change anything
I indeed did do that
using the alvr installer
launcher*
now using this
maybe but I did recently clean out a bunch of cache and files so I feel like it was that, or the fact I had first installed it a very very long time ago
tbf all I did was type in cache in wiztree and just go through a few of them to be sure I didnt delete anything important
and also go through useless files
anyway thanks for helping me
