Hi. I tried ALVR today and i liked it so imma keep using. Only 1 problem tho. Steam doesnt pick up that im using a Q3 and when i put in my serial number it just has a "H" icon... The reasoning to why i am posting about this is because i play beat saber and on beat saber leaderboards (beatleader, scoresaber) it appears as i am using a quest 2. Any tips? (My controllers appear as Q3 controllers in steamvr)

Are you emulating that you have a Quest 3?
I’m not sure if you actually do. You might wanna g-
Oh.
Yeah, you might need Nightly build then. I actually never play around with the headset emulation when I hop on in beat saber
-# or I just never have the time to remember 😭
Try it out and see perhaps? :p
Ah okay yeah cuz this is an example of what it shows on those custom leaderboard websites. One says "Unkown" and the other says Q2
Will do. I will get back to you in 10-20 minutes
Huh, strange.
Good luck mate. 🫡
Is this the correct repo? https://github.com/alvr-org/ALVR-nightly
The Readme.md looks so empty so im unsure if this is the one
Oh I don’t even know. I just use the ALVR Launcher and run the newest nightly build I see.
Oh i can download it from the launcher?
The newest nightly builds? I assume yes
Oh sick yeah i could
I just downloaded one earlier today, I forgot the number. 💀
But it also reminds me.. the headset is called a Miracast whenever the user uses ALVR for PCVR.
still q2...
Oh jeez..
aight hmm
I have come to the conclusion that i will not be using ALVR until this issue if fixed for me. If anyone has any tips i or anything for me to try then i will be more than happy to try.
the UI is confusing and has 2 items called "emulation mode", one is for headset, other is for controllers
I have enabled the emulation mode for q3 controllers and they work fine but its the headset that gets detected as unknown when i use serial number (there is no q3 option)
