#V20.10 is locking up my whole computer
51 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
what operating system 🙂
Windows 10
this actualy seems to be a bug that got introduced in some v20 point release
try reboot then retest
All my drivers are updated
I restarted my pc, same issue
Actually a bit worse as I can't move my mouse now
I'll try remote recording to show yall
right after that
Should I just go back to v19?
I'm running v20.10 and that's what it shows before it just freezes
How would I deregister everything?
Oh wtf
I clicked launch from the launcher
Let me uninstall it
ok now steamvr keeps opening on its own, hold on
also
does v20.10 not have index emulation?
For the controllers
As soon as I clicked launch steamvr the whole thing froze
My whole pc now accepts 0 inputs
Restarted my pc and it blue screens after I launched alvr with steamvr
Yeah
I restarted my pc
Clicked launch steamvr and
Blue screen
Imma try 1 more time then imma just go back to v19 till this is able to be fixed
i dont know what happened but I restarted it another 2 times and now it working flawlessly
so much for "protocol compatibility" sigh, I'm doing my best
oh uh, I realized that the dashboard/server may crash if server and dashboard are from separate versions. there is no perfect way to avoid mismatch. the protocol version doesn't take into account dashboard-server communication
its working now, I dont know what changed but now its streaming flawlessly and has 0 latency with hand-tracking
nice, happy it worked out
Do you happen to know how to make alvr launch other apps when you launch steamvr via the connect script or does it not do that?
but your pc has serious issues, you either may have to reinstall windows at some point, or change faulty hardware
just use command line syntax
I tried that but when the dashboard and steamvr are launched differently it doesnt connect and makes the game start in desktop
oh wait, that connect script is for when the headset connects, not when steamvr launches
Oh
is there an argument to launch steamvr when alvr dashboard starts up?
nope
sorry, yes
on top of the extra tab
Oh thank you
that also shuts down steamvr when you close the dashboard
Yeah thats a good thing because thats what the v19 did for me
