Hey everyone,
As mentioned in the title, I got my hands on a Ferris sweep with nice nanos and I feel like I've got PTSD and just wanna throw it out...

My process so far:
Used Ferris-Sweep.

  • Flashed with settings-reset (L & R) - followed the zmk docs for troubleshooting
  • Reflashed with miryoku using Cradio config.
  • Cradio came up on my device, but wouldn't connect.
  • Connected both halves to my Mac, connected to BT, unplugged and all Gucci.
  • No, after about 2 min, some key strokes don't register and bam, nothing works until plugged in again.

Please try and explain solutions or ask questions as if you were talking to a 5 year old 🙂

Thanks a lot.

Potentially the battery dies? Can you confirm if you have power on both halves when unplugged?

#

You can check this by resetting the controller and see if you see a double blink on the blue LED on the nice!nano

#

Or double tap reset and see if it goes in bootloader mode, where it should constantly blink blue fast

I'm not currently home, but when connected with BT it does say 100% on my Mac. I have never noticed the LEDs when not plugged in though, so that could be it

#

Stupid question, is reset 1 tap and bootloader 2 taps?

Okay, I'll try and take a look later. Thanks a lot.

Can'=t seem to get any LED's to turn on when not plugged in. As soon as i plug it in, a red/orange LED turns on and a blue 1 flashes twice then they both go off. Is that normal behaviour?

Either there is a connection issue (power switch off?), batteries are borked, or nano’s charger is fried (which can happen if you e.g. connect with the wrong polarity)

I got it 2nd hand, previous user built it and says that everything was working fine :/

#

What do you mean when you say connect with the incorrect polarity?

Batteries have a positive and a negative lead, like B+ and B-

#

One is usually red cable the other black

#

They need to go to the corresponding connection point on the pcb or the nano,

#

If you swap the two you will fry the charging circuit

ahhh i see. well I have no idea since i didnt solder it ^^

Do you have a multimeter?

rain bay
#

nope 😄

It is going to be a bit hard to debug without one, you basically want to figure out if the battery is dead or the controller

Yeah, I understand. I'll try and get in contact with the previousowner
