Just received my Everything Presence Lite today 😊.

I'm wondering if it's still possible to fully disassemble the product with this new injection moulding design -- I'm following the guide at https://everythingsmarthome.github.io/everything-presence-lite/assembly.html but just backwards. This is so that I can remove the ball joint so I can stick the sensor flush against my wall.

But the locking ring doesn't seem to want to budge no matter how hard I try. Which makes me wonder if I'm supposed to remove it or whether it's stuck in place now due to the new design.

Thank you for any help/responses 😁.

I suppose a secondary question is "is it wise to stick this directly to the wall in the first place?"

Maybe it would be better to have it sticking out from the stand like so?

This way I guess you have some nice adjustability with where the sensor faces, at the cost of a more protruding form factor and maybe a slight problem with the weight distribution for the sticky pad

#

Although the device is very light (😏) so that latter concern might not be a problem

Hello! The locking ring most definitely does remove same as before. One trick you can use on the new model is to put the stand in, and move the stand to the locked position (fully down). Then using the stand, rotate the ball joint counter clockwise (or clockwise, I forget which way) and it will undo itself

But yeah the stand is designed like that so you can angle it however is best for the room

Thank you for creating this product in the first place as well of course, it is very nice
