Hey, I'd love to test this out, but the GD link tells me to request access, which I would prefer not to do haha

Hmm got this when I tried to open the .exe! Not sure if this was user error though, I downloaded the zip file and extracted it

Hi, your thumbnail image with the red background is against our NSFW rules (nipples/areola slightly visible). Could you please remove that image from your post? Thank you cat_chill

#

(I can't remove it without deleting the entire post)

crude elbow
#

I appreciate the heads up. I thought it was covered enough.

#

I went ahead and removed it.

Thanks! Also cool extra tool to make your mod more manageable cat_woah

Thanks for testing! I don’t think this is user error. This looks like the builder is failing during the Windows webview/runtime startup before the app fully opens.

Could you try installing or repairing Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime, then restart and try opening the builder again?

https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-edge/webview2/

Use the Evergreen Runtime option.

If it still fails after that, let me know and I’ll keep troubleshooting. This is exactly the kind of issue I was hoping beta testing would catch.

Bootstrapper is probably all you would need. I'd try that.

#

I thought WebView2 Runtime was standard now on machines, but it might not be as common as I thought.

glass birch
#

Apparently it is already running on my system so the installation failed!

crude elbow
#

Hmmm, okay, so that probably isn’t the issue then. Someone in another Discord was able to run it successfully, so I may ask them a bit about their setup and compare. There might be a dependency I didn’t realize the program needed on some systems.

glass birch
#

Gonna try redownloading it and opening it again!

crude elbow
#

Did you by chance already download Wolvenkit Console and install dependency: .NET 8 Desktop Runtime x64?

glass birch
#

I definitely have .Net 8, and I do have Wolvenkit that I run through MO2!

#

Not sure how much of a difference that makes

#

(sorry I definitely should have mentioned that before lol)

hardy pebble
#

wkit is not designed to run effectively with mo2

#

The he CLI even more so. I highly doubt this tool takes that into account

glass birch
#

Yeah that's understandable haha. I do have the app seperately but ofc it wouldn't have access to any of my mods unless I'm linked through MO2. May not be the best person to beta test (at least initally!)

crude elbow
#

Yeah, MO2 might be fine, I’m not totally sure yet. But for this specific error, I don’t think MO2 is the cause because it looks like the builder is crashing before it fully opens or runs WolvenKit Console.

glass birch
#

I did get the same runtime error on the second version of the download! so at least it's consistent haha

#

I'll try redownloading NET 8 to see if that helps

#

nope! but it was a lil out of date!

#

Alright I have to sleep but if you're down to keep troubleshooting with me, I'll be happy to participate! Ofc if folks who can actually run the program are able to, I'm sure that would be a great help :D

One other thing worth checking: when Windows extracts a downloaded ZIP, it can sometimes block files that came from the internet.

Could you try this?

Right-click the original downloaded ZIP.
Go to Properties.
If you see an Unblock checkbox near the bottom, check it and click Apply.
Extract the ZIP again.
Try opening the .exe from the newly extracted folder.

I’m not sure if that’s the issue, but it’s worth ruling out.

glass birch
#

(will update you if that works tomorrow :D)

crude elbow
#

Sounds good. Thanks! 😊

Nice! I'm glad that worked. So annoying that Windows does that, but I guess it's good for security reasons.

#

I'll need to see if there's a way I can package it so users don't have to use that workaround.

glass birch
#

Also do I need to actively write down this info or is it brought up again?

crude elbow
#

you can find that information again by clicking on the 'i' icon next to WolvenKit.Cli.exe at the top.

glass birch
#

perf :D

crude elbow
#

If you want to app to remember your paths and presets, toggle the "save data" at the top left.

glass birch
#

It worked! I think haha! I may make one that's very different from the one I use for my V just to check

#

I think the only minor frustration is that for installing this with MO2, I have to create the folders archive - pc - mod in order for MO2 to read the file correctly, but that won't take too long

#

(and zip it haha! she (MO2) is picky)

crude elbow
glass birch
#

That's fair! I think the previous version had the way if you downloaded all of the mod files, but obviously that was inherently an issue and this is better

crude elbow
#

Right, this eliminates the need to download thousands of archives. It also means I won't have to build them all myself which is a huge bottleneck for me.

glass birch
#

It works!

#

(In game haha)

crude elbow
#

Awesome! Did you end up bypassing MO2 and just place the archive in the game's mod folder?

glass birch
#

Nope haah! I did indeed repack it and zip it and put it into MO2

#

she will never look like this again haha! fun test tho!

crude elbow
#

I might try and make this a little more friendly for mod managers. I know a lot of people like to use them, including myself. It's a nice way to keep mods linked to the Nexus page and be notified about updates (at least in Vortex).

glass birch
#

That would be great!

#

I don't know much about how this works, but perhaps an option to pack the archive into a zip file with the folders? and label it as the mod manager version or smth?

crude elbow
#

That's what I was thinking. I haven't use MO2 before. Can you just drop the zip file in there?

glass birch
#

Yep! It essentially reads the file and checks whether the files are packed correctly for Cyberpunk, and if they are, the mod will install

#

Even with things like codes, it will protest until the file looks right

crude elbow
#

Good to know! Thanks for testing and being willing to jump through some hoops to figure out how to get it working. ❤️

glass birch
#

Ofc! Thank you! This tool is very cool and I think folks will really benefit from it :D
