@amber silo could Yu put the links in the Learning Korean thread. That way it's easier to find. I'll tag you there
Oh wait this is the thread...lol
So 6 am your time right. Hope it's not too much trouble...if we can organize it a different, let's. But for now at that time. We can discuss at our first meeting.
Sat 7PM EST
perf! see you guys
Wait the website has a free pdf verison
Everything on the PDF is on the book.
I bought the books but i stopped after book 2 considering everything in it is for FREE on the website.
yeah
i always check online before purchasing any book
most of the material is free and online these days hahah
I only bought them considering i wanted to try taking notes from a physical book rather than looking at my laptop
yeah i know that feeling
it feels better
i also tried to print it but my printer stopped mid way while printing soo
i have half sheets printed 🥲 😂
i also started using duolingo
it helps keep me on track cuz it has basic level tests
which helps me know my level
also you can productively "procrastinate" haha 😂
well i prefer physical but i have to go with digital for now
yeah it is good indeed
How come you’re sticking to digital?
i donno
i just sometimes watch koreanpod101.com yt channel
Ah i see~ that’s interesting
same here! i'll prob print it tbh. thanks for sending the link
saved me

See you guys in 45 mins~
Wooo~!
Apologies, had something to take care of
Ooh okay.
I'm gonna try fix somethih cause i can hear
Okay i an hear on my end. Im going to play the video now
alright
I was gonna write notes, but I'll make them in my own time.
oo i see~ im just reviewing vocabulary rn
Oh good idea
And that's a wrap!
We can watch it again on our own time.
I learnt some new verbs today.
Thats great!
Yay!
What should we learn next?
Maybe next time we can learn coming Korean phrases. They should involve some of those verbs that was used in the video.
It can also beginner friendly for those who are beginners.
If you guys have any ideas of what too do next please share~
See you again soon~ @amber silo
Good luck on those. Just keep focus
And do you best
We looked at the conjugation of verbs in the present tense so there a lot of verbs to learn. we'll just continue next time
When do your midterms end?
I enjoyed yesterday’s session. I was able to review vocabulary and do listening practices.
Do you have a structured Course Bri?
I'm glad! I'm going to review the vocabulary myself, but tomorrow.
No i don't have a structured course. I'm just hoping we can go though somethings together.
There is an article that talks about the different categories of language learning - grammar, listen etc so i was hoping to use that as a guide. Do a little bit of each category i guess.
Ah yes. All skills should be learned.
I use TTMIK as my vocabulary and Grammar
Kdramas/podcast/youtube as my listening
Making sample sentences as my writing
Reading Korean stories/texts as my Reading
I would recommend using TTMIK since you’re a upper beginner.
I use Language exchange calling apps as my Speaking
Hi everyone! I just saw this thread and have been trying to get back into learning Korean. Would I be able to join you guys?
Of course!
Ahh thank you so much! :))))
Is there a structure to this? Like do we come here on a certain day and share what we've done or get tasks etc?
We meet every Saturday 7 PM EST for now
☝️
There isn't a set structure yet. I had planned to make it, but maybe in a few days. But based on the different categories of learning language is a guide.
Grammar, listening, writing, Reading
We did grammar last week but we also took made note of the vocab. https://youtu.be/K7dgMVKPTHw

I think there should some things we might have to do on our own like learning hanguel.
but i'll update you guys the plan and suggestions are welcomed
Yeah i learned verbs via TTMIK
Oooh ok, thank you
What’s your level~? If i may ask
Heyy! Guys would it be ok to change the time? Cause 7pm is 2am in my zone
Earlier is okay with me now. I've been helping out with some online event, but i don't have to be there that long anymore.
On Saturdays I'm free 12-3pm and then she then after 4pm now
So 4 here should be 11pm for you...the 12 pm here should be.....
Ah 7 pm....lol
So 12 pm here is is 7pm where you at.
Today is a bit sticky though......but let's study in 2 hours maybe. It should be 12 PM yourtime
which is 5 PM here
omg i fell a sleep
let's try for Monday at 5 PM EST
that should be a better time
today was kinda sticky
i def. can't join on Monday. let's keep it on Saturdays
it's ok, i figured
for me, UTC -5 EST
oh really
Yes
okie
Yes in the morning would be.
I have a class to teach on Saturday morning at 11 am and sometimes I have to sort out some stuff before. But I am planning to prepare for a few classes ahead of time from now on...so maybe 8 AM would be a good time.
bout if something comes up, I'll just let you guys know
Yes 6-9 am is best for me
noice
Would 1-3 pm EET work for you @slow geyser
yeah it works for me!
Great~! That’s 6-8 am for us
🥳
WOOO
@amber silo So you have some korean reading books that you could share with us? PDF maybe
maybe we can do reading next time. That or learning a song
kk and i'll try to do the hangul until then from the TTMIK site that you sent
https://talktomeinkorean.com/curriculum/level-1-korean-grammar/lessons/level1dialogue/
We can read a super easy dialogue
Or
yeah that would be nice! i know both of you are in a higher level than me.. so sorry if i drug u down 😓
Omg thats not an issue at all~! I love reviewing
There aren’t that many korean stories PDFS
But there are apps that allow you to read stories in different languages
App: Beelinguapp
that's no prob at all
nice!
we can try this then
if i find any children's books i'll let you know. We can check out **z-library ** for free books even language text books. Children books, i'm not too sure.
i found spanish children stories there, but i didn't search for korean at the time
nice
I this app looks really good to use
😃 ~
I like the vocabulary feature and the audio feature
nice!
We can practice reading and vocab then
we'd have to do a voice call
dont think we can do it in this server though
we make a voice call directly on discord, right?
Beelinguapp
I add some unknown words to the in-app flashcard feature
Then i review them after reading
Its definitely good for vocabulary and reading
And listening
cool
so we can do that for Saturday then...i'm looking forward to it 😆
Absolutely. Although waking up so early on a Saturday isn’t preferable LOL, I’ll try to make it
haha yeah
kk so what time ? @toxic pecan
Okay 7 am our time 2pm your time @slow geyser @amber silo
perf ❤️
That sounds great~
In 7 hours
Party 🎉
could you share the screen for us to use the app for us? @amber silo
@slow geyser see you in a few~
Absolutely
i'm going to start a voice call
I’ll be there in a couple minutes
