Is there any reliable book where I can learn how to read art?

I always recommend first reading the history of the topic you wanna read books about to have a backbone on the issue you want to expand upon

when you're thinking about how to "read" art in its broadest sense as a first step, i would always first recommend you think about individual slow looking rather than any sort of where's waldo approach where you read about Things You Should Recognise In Art and What They Mean . and similarly recognising that art between eras is going to mean a lot of different things, so, if you read 40 books about "art" as a general nebulous concept, you probably aren't going to be that proficient about any of it if you're reading aimlessly. if you want to really understand medieval english art in the 1300, or Victorian stain glass conservation efforts, or something very specific, reading into them at the level of their social history, rather than individual artist, might be a good starting point. to do that, you need to pick a movement - not an easy feat. if you're doing this from your bedroom, you have no idea what your eyes are actually attracted to in a gallery

but here's my advice: go to an art gallery . look at what excites you. art is visual, art is alive, art is best "understood" standing in front of it, rather than looking at laminate printed copies of it. if you have any sort of art gallery near you, try setting aside a couple of hours and wandering around, letting your eyes pick out paintings you find particularly interesting and approaching them. from there, read the plaque if you want, stand/sit somewhere comfortable, and give the piece longer than a second to sit with you. i appreciate that you're asking for a book, and you're asking for a guide on how to do this, but in reality, art is made to be read by anyone, art can be read by anyone, art doesn't have a single answer in that [THIS] means [THIS]. you can read books about it, Liz Rideal's How to Read Paintings comes to mind, but these books just explain what you'd understand if you looked at a painting yourself for a good 15 minutes. an art gallery i went to a lot when i lived nearby released this really accessible article on a practice called "slow looking", which i'd recommend you read actually, linked here: https://www.tate.org.uk/art/guide-slow-looking

May I suggest to make the underline text the same width as the entire logo, the leafs bigger because a logo is often seen pretty tiny and the P isn't readable enough for me... What is the meaning of the arrow in the square? If it's important you could keep the same weight as the other letters but inspired by these references... And you could make a little gradient to keep the different pinks

@ebon wadi I drew some rough ideas for the P, and the leaves at the end can be mistaken for an i so I twisted it a bit. I changed a bit the letters because of the "pursue" meaning, like something ongoing, dynamic... But it's only rough ideas 🙈 I hope it'll help

Any recommendations to start drawing? I want to be able to draw small things just for fun :P There is a lot of books and playlist but I don't know where to start:((

Start with something you find interesting, and try and find your art style, like what I did was I just googled something small I wanted to draw then tried to copy it, and then I kinda moved up and anything I wanted to draw I would try and then try to improve by drawing it over and over again. That's just an idea of what I did

Pick up a notebook, eraser, pencil, and line pens.
Start filling up your page with doodles of particular theme, for eg, erm spongebob themed stuffs.
Then outline it with the line pen, make sure to give it a bit bold and thin strokes accordingly to make it seem as if it has volume to it.

Google tons of idea.

Use tons of references.

Follow the artstyle of a particular artist you admire.

But to start off, you can try this, make it look as good as you can.

You can also add extra elements like cross hatches. The dots.

well personally, I think that de stijl is an interesting artistic movement in the fact that they wanted to go back to the core elements of art, which are primary colors +black+ white and vertical and horizontal lines; because with those colors you can make any color you want, and you can't make a diogonal line without taking a horizontal or a vertical line sort of reference for it... and much more..

Uhmm tbh I think it's a very good cam to start with (+ngl it's not that cheep)
The first cam I've ever started with was the sony "a5000" and it was only for almost (375$)
Now I use the sony "alpha 7" for about (2300$)

The way to be a good photographer was never by having the best cam, all u need is to practice, with literally any cam u have, by time ur gonna be so good at it u just gotta be patient
After that u can upgrade the cams ur using

Note: sony cams r known to be better for videos but u still can work with it for photography
So for me I think ur choice for sony cams is rly good

I never tried the cam u talked about so maybe if u want u can talk to someone who has it and ask them if u can borrow it for a couple of days so u can try it out before u buy it
I used to do that a lot in the past and it helped sm

If u couldn't fine someone just watch tons of reviews ab the cam and ur good

i would recommend you use the software called Krita, its a free similar software to photoshop... but there are other ones, u may test and see what u like.

i think mainly you are struggling with construction and smooth line control, my suggestion would be to learn head construction from masters like andrew loomis, gottfried bammes or railly method, you can easily find source material from the internet. just practice basic head construction from multiple angle then slowly introduce facial feature. for lines, take an a4 size paper and draw long straight lines (freehanded), also enough curve lines and circle. practice all day if you can, it will boost the connection of you hand and mind so you can make mark with confidence

Yep! I use it to track what projects I've worked on, sorta like a streak system. So I know what I should work on each day/week.

i would reccomend adjusting the positioning of the robots. If you're trying to give a since of overwhelming, perhaps have them take up more of the background. The emotion expressed on the characters doesn't contrast well with the background imo! The line of direction the robots flows with the movement of the characters, so I'm not sure if they are fighting the robotos or teamed up with them. Maybe include more contrasting lines, values and such to match the intensity of the expressions on your characters. <3

i would recommend you to lean loomis head, after you are comfortable with the construction, try to add facial features, drawing asaro's head will also boost your understanding of the head

hmmm.. first one accentuates the shape of the lip, just needs a bit of shading to make it pop out
Second kinda looks flat but put in a bit of light and it should be fine

Moreover, the second one fits with the style of the face overall

i started using them only few months ago and tbh it needs so much patience cs the paint does not dry and it gets all over your hands and clothes..basically it makes a mess

but ofc you should give it a go...it kindof builds patience
