@weary beacon Blue Period manga all about art and hard work
oh yes ik that
@spring ore Do you use charcoal in your drawings?
Yo ! What's up everyone? Could anyone help me? I need vector an image for a t-shirt?
Looks quite appetizing doesn’t it? :,))
The reflection of the moon? Nonetheless it's a beautiful painting
for a while, I was like... Reiner sure looks odd. Then I realized not everything revolves around AOT lol
ig reflection of mountains... ig
💀 ya mad after aot
lol so true!
hi, its nice to meet you i like to draw too, i like to do simple landscape to avoid mistakes
i am at intermediate level but i want to do sketch more quickly
Keep working on black and white moon to big the water a bit to still the grass is not in the reflection and use of leading lines moons craters trees can be a bit more clear but it not a bad peace seems like you had fun making it. Keep it up but experimenting also take a pitcher of your favorite art work and filter it in black and white.
Did you use only on brush For this one?
I prefer people to actual tell me what I can do better so I don't make the same mistake.
Can i get some criticisms?
does photography count as art?
yea was wondering if anyone had any tips for developing film at home
Still in progress but I tried a thousand times to fix the face, especially the mouth… any recommendations?
@spiral narwhal don't for get to add a darker shadow beneath them but good work so far what did you use for your skin color
so the necks look off. your color work is good. hands need a bit of practice. the skin shadows can have 2 layers of darker shading so lighter shadows and a darker add depth to your art work. ears can improved. good fun art work though. keep working and refining but have fun with it a lot of improvement come from trying new things
Thank youuuuuuu (◍•ᴗ•◍)
amazing
thank you!!
I used Lukas Acrylics and Amsterdam
hi
Hey guys
Can anyone suggest a free online art course
Or youtube channel
Also can you suggest an art book u have read

Anyone got advanced tips for oil painting?
You are talented friend, very cool
thanks
What should I start learning to draw from as a semi-beginner (I've been drawing for fun and even watched a bunch of youtube tutorials and stuff😎)
This is fire, man
thanks! and as a semi-beginner I would say perspective and understanding how shapes work in a 3d space
Do you have any recommendations as to sources or is it basically pratice that matters the most
a bit of both is what ive found to be most helpful. a good starting point on forms and perspective is https://drawabox.com/ . Marc Brunet on youtube is a great teacher too
Thanks a lot, how long have you been drawing btw
bout 6/7 years?
Is drawbox free?
What art form do you prefer for me it sketch and painting. After that what is your goal with your are for me it get better at more realistic drawings that requires mastery of shading and texturing and being able to draw what I think in detail.
Also draw still life's you'll learn faster that way.
I draw whatever I'm intrested in currently I'm trying to focus on drawing heads and facial features . My goal is just to be good at drawing so whenever I need to draw/ design something I'd be able to do it myself (e.g site's appearance or if I read a book I could draw a character from that book or if I went somewhere and I liked how the buildings look I could sketch them)
hi
@clever condor hello
Do we have architect help here?
i don't know if music counts as art, but can anyone help me with rhythm in guitar I'm trying to play two semitones in each string in the note C, and the second semitone always ends up stacatto'd and shorter than the first. can anyone help?
need feedback because idk where this is going minute by minute
maybe add a slide after every string? sounding too staccato is normal with those big leaps. If u dont wanna add legato then just practice holding down the second note the same duration you hold the first. Use more than one finger
that was a great suggestion, but i went for the second options and repetitively checked the lengths of the notes and it's fixed now :) and unfortunately my teacher would get mad at me if i used slides
Anyone knows what is Michelangelo's unique style and techniques?
hi everyone, i’m starting to make a portfolio for architecture school, but i don’t know how to approach making a portfolio. i already have 2-3 architectural projects with renderings and have some experience in art and photography
I have seen on this section, there are a lot of very skillful artists and i bet it took years to sharpen your skills in this kind of craft. I have tried as well but i face two main problems. I don't have solid outlines and the colors i use don't give enough life to what i paint. Is it because l am not skilled enough or of the quality of my equipment?
can i see?
it's probably to do with value control and linework
both of which you can only really learn by actively observing how other artists do them and practicing them yourself once you understand the underlying principles
equipment plays a relatively tiny role in making art compared to the required understanding of art fundamentals and such
it doesnt matter how high quality your equipment is if you dont know what you're doing for the most part, so don't worry too much about it when you're just starting
hi! it usually depends on the university as they can have different requirements (like page limit, art/project types etc). however there are lots of accepted portfolio videos on youtube, I'd suggest especially looking into portfolio reviews where the common mistakes are discussed. as for creating the portfolio, the best approach is to start from the best projects, keep a clean and consistent layout and make the text readable and minimal.
@loud sparrow just work on a bunch of hand posing you'll get better way faster
Thxx I’ll try
Hi! Usually solid outlines come with practice since you have to develop muscle memory to have steady lines. And as for colors they can be tricky but my advice is to not be afraid of them and go with stronger colors than you would think. For me watercolor was the easiest to start out with for color practice since colors kinda mix naturally. Quality of materials does help, but you don’t need it to be good, you can do a lot with a pen and paper. I would recommend not getting any type of set (unless it’s a range of colors) but instead slowly build your collection of materials. I hope this helps!
new to the server and first message, but to add in to what ddelta said: you don’t gotta have strong outlines tbh- dynamic and lively lines are enough. for colors, aside from studying color theory reference how other people use them. color drop pictures etc- sometimes there’s the randomest color combos used on seemingly the simplest stuff
the skin on this dude looks like skin, but there’s random greens there in places i used, same with other stuff
just mess around and find out tbh, it’s all a practice thing
Guys do you think this can help me win a competition or at least get top 10, the theme for this POSTER was SPACE VOYAGE
Very good
Where it says “and so less time” change it to “and so little time” because “so less time” is grammatically incorrect

@spring ore nice job! still life will help you to work on perspectives shading and composition. Keep it up! Also by working even on sketching it will help.
how do yall do this like what app do you use?
So I'm going to guess no one here does oil painting?
i am doing exercices at night with the help of the web site lines of actions. i am trying to finish one sketches the fastest as possible, but each one took me 8 minutes
Thank you so much! ☺️

Hii, is there anyone who can help me with a vector art portrait?.. I am trying it for the first time and I need a small favour... Please DM, if anyone willing to help..
Thank you
That's amazing
how do i self teach myself to draw? where do i start
there's no real guide to that
start with whatever you want to draw
at least that's how it went for me. back then i started outed with sonic characters 😹
Is this good for a first attempt? And also what could I do to improve it if I were to draw it again? It’s a bit messy but I tried
thats amazing
it's really nice already as it is!! if u want to improve overall maybe sketching from different angles could help you?
Basics are solid but you need to use different grades of pencil for sharing and lining H 1-9. (9 being highest and 1 being darker.) (F is your standard pencil B 1 is the lightest B and 9 is much darker.) Experimenting with different tools is very important to your growth. Try sketching still life's it will improve your skills across the board.
will finish this tomorrow
a good way of learning it is to use black and White filters on your phone a good art piece in color is still good in black and White. also it depends on the direction that you shad it can give different effects like the drawing of your nose and mouth on the left try shading it left to right and then try one up and down with no carving of your lines. after that try cross hatching and dot shading the closer the dots are the darker it will feel.
also have you tried different gradients of pencils? (like H5-B6)
I didn't use this pencils in this work
Thx
black and what 💀
@floral ivy. Thanks fix it. I'm dyslexic with my spelling.
that's such a difficult angle 😭
hi, not sure if this would be offtopic but can any one recommend a good source to learn piano?
simply pianooooooo
I probably say lean all your notes then work on playing a song 1 hand at a time.
character design wIP
Thanks bro, I kind of can play simpler stuffs and melodies. But can't play the slightly less simpler melodies I have in my head. I was looking for some exercises that would make my movements across more fluid. I do have experience in another instrument so I think I'll be alright if I can just attain the precision and speed. You have any routine you'd like me to follow? Thanks again.
idk if the legs are right
A little longer on the lags
Wow yoy guys are so talented!

Don't call them talented it can be demeaning of the work and effort/discipline that went into their art works. It's like calling somebody a genius that studying hard and putting in the work. To sum it up it is like saying I'm jealous that it comes so easy to you.
I didnt mean that at all. I used it as a compliment. Discipline and perseverance can also be talents and maybe there are some in here who were actually born with it. And I'm new here so idk them personally. And I'm a drawing and painting artist myself
I disagree that anyone is born with it. They're just thinking about things differently and spending a lot more effort to get better at it then others they observed and practice consistently. That's the biggest difference in my opinion.
Idk I just meant that their works look great and wanted to compliment them 🤷♂️
Sorry to be so mean about it but it is a problem for artists to have everything sum up as being talented.
I suggest reading Blue Period or seeing the anime. The Creator did an amazing job at illustrating an artist's struggles because she was an art studying major.
It's ok I can see why. I didn't know it was a real thing. In my language we don't really say "talented" so I used it as a synonym for what we say when we compliment someone's art piece
All good I understand where you're coming from. You're a good guy, I just really hate hearing it.
Did a paint night there really fun I feel like my painting looks bad tho. XD
I have a long way to go in mastering painting.
yaaa man that’s rad
and also abt the talent stuff. ik the common ground that ppl have agreed on of it sounding dismissive of the effort put into actually learning how to draw, but i personally don’t find anything offensive in it- just my view tho, not the general public
so tyyyy raiane hehe
Beautiful! It immerses me in it

who knows how to create a poster like awareness poster create a cybersecurity
Do you guys have any advice on how to be persistent with drawing? I used to draw A LOT when I was in middle school. I love art in all of the forms, I even made an experimental short film at the time and little paper sculptures. But now that I'm in university I lost all the motivation.
Amazing art guys ❤️🔥❤️🔥
Uhh I’ve the same problem 😭
Use art to express how you feel. If you're in a slump draw it out and give it shape. Get drawn into your own art work. Take 7-10 steps back and observe your artwork. Most important experiment with different tools. Look after your own needs priority number 1. 1. sleep 2. Food 3. Social needs. 4. Vent your emotions.
I'm scared it's gonna affect my grades and my studies cuz it takes time to experiment and try things (I also study science which is very far from art). I'm thinking of writing a script (I also LOVE cinema) but I'm very busy. Recently I saw a guy in my same university class drawing in a small book while waiting for the teacher to arrive and it made think about this. I'm definitely gonna try your advice but I just feel like my mind is blocked when it comes to art these days.
What you should work on science first art will be more fun to relax but my suggestion. Use that down time to do the same work with 3 shapes in different arrangements in just a small note book. It will get harder as you go along.
i’m in art college rn so my situation’s a bit different from yours, but last year high school while i had to do shitloads of work i still made time for art somehow- i feel like if there’s a will there’s a way, definitely take advantage of little increments of free time you have and utilize them
if you’re in a slump try a dif medium or a dif subject, helps me out somewhat
Thank you so much I will definitely try that. It kinda gave me some motivation also for my studies. Thank you so much
Yes
What do you think about this
np! it’s also nice to do studies when ur able, it can feel mundane but if u take away the mindset that it’s smth u practice rather than draw for fun improves ur skill along with not being a chore
Anyone else using procreate ?
This prob sounds dumb but, how do you make a single straight line? I kinda go over and over to make a longer line since I can’t get the right shape on the first try
You could use Canva
i think it depends on doing practice. I've heard that if you sketch all the time like even random shapes, your hand will get used to draw lines . Also you can draw randomly straight lines too even if they aren't straight just sketch everyday
i like the way how bra falls a little on shoulder but i think you can make it a bit looser to make it look real
this look nice :) i need to learn how to draw bodies :D
I planned to draw it like a small half circle so that it doesn't look like that, but as I see in the real world, when it's up to the shoulder, it's tight, so I looked at it
if you need any help, I'm here
and thank you very much for the impressions 🥺❤️❤️❤️
i see
you're welcome i like talking about artt <33
thank uu i just dont know how to draw bodies with different angles
like
i can draw it with a straight position but that's it :D
try slowly from the easiest parts
yea im gonna start studying graphic design this year
which excites me so muchh
i think i can improve myself with lessons :D
oh well that's nice to hear. I wanted to but unfortunately I couldn't
what are u studying rn ?
rights
Cool
thanks
Still not finished but wanted to know what yall think (ik i´ts mid but it's my first time drawing anime)
bdhksgfkh WHAT MID?????? Dude thats awesome!!! I draw anime and it looks nothing like that, great job!
fanks my guy, but always can be better 😎
Wait did you use color pencil??
prismacolor Juniors 🥱
DUDE i- im speechless, that is so cool!
fanks so much, i bet you are also great
@spring ore Not bad. I say try to fill a page with different postings angles and perspectives if you want a much faster way to improve try drawing still lives. It can improve your skill drastically and give you more insight on how to improve further. But most importantly have fun doing it. It will show in your work.
Hey guys, self promo here (sorry) follow me on my art instagram: @ helinsiberart 🤗 I would really appreciate it
i recommend to you to have a little sketchbook always with you, and any time you are free you can use it to draw. another thing is the motivation, i cant help to much with that, because I draw for discipline, I force myself to do it, and when I've been drawing for a while, the inspiration and motivation comes. Also if you are not "inspired", just pick a random object from life, a photo, and draw it. the important thing is just draw
also try to not draw difficult things like people or faces at the beginning, because your moral will go down, and you will fell frustrated
if you want, you can start with easy things like plants, rocks, trees
an example:
Great idea!
Beautiful! Can I copy them for training?
No, use real photos always
It's better
MY FUCKING LORD
literally
sir please hand over talent to the lesser privileged
🫴
Hey there
I appriciate how you stay discipline
Would ya like share any other tips regarding how can we improve
Dude it's fucking amazing
I like the way you draw posture
Would ya like to teach me regarding how to draw body parts
Yes. I would be very happy and pleased to teach you
Even I love to draw designs
But m not very good
It's like you know
U have tons of ideas
But your bad with
Putting on paper
@spring ore
Can you jst dm me
Yes
I'd say to go back to what made want to start drawing in the first place like music, tv shows, reading or getting inspired by other peoples art as well 🙂 I hope this helps
So the Maine thing is to block it out. So you know how big you like the objects. then start drawing an outline lightly then darken your lines and work on shading.
what medium did you use?
....ink.
I used pen on paper, the pens that I use are the sakura pigma micron!🤗 for the large black areas I used ink
It looks so good 😭
Great work I like your drawings! Did you ink them or did you use a B6-B9 for your outlines? Are you also a creative writer?
Hi, so, I'm new here! :o I always loved the idea of being able to draw, but unfortunately, everytime I tried, It didn't seem... natural. It was like I was just learning new specific things on youtube. It didn't feel like I was actually improving my drawing, but actually just learning specific poses that only work in a specific situation, in a specific... you get the point.
I can easily have the determination to work through a math textbook and learn new subjects/languages
but art seems... diferent. I think I need advice on some kind of roadmap to follow
or, at least, a general direction to learn drawing
thank you in advance :)
I really admire you guys work on here, you are amazing
I see what you mean ART is not a line but a web there's a lot of different skills and paths. I say work on your black and White that way you don't need to worry about all the color values. So sketching with pencil so a bigger tip is to pick up a set of pencils from 5H to B9 a blending stump. (Tip the higher the number of H the lighter it will be. B is darker the higher the value. Then F is your standard pencil.)
From there I say just draw simple still life's you don't have to but you'll learn a lot faster. (Tip use your highest H value to start your drawings so you don't leave darker marks.)
Ok now I suggest staying away from drawing people till you master shapes and perspectives so start with objects. Then I say work on shading once you get a bunch of drawings. Feel free to DM me if you need more tips.
Thank you for the information, also, you seem very kind :)
Hi, anyone else doing IGCSE art exams? Art paper was a few days ago. Design paper is in 2 days. Good luck
I drew this with oil pastel. What do you guys think? I know I still have to work on perspectives. Perspectives has always been difficult for me. Any tips?
Nice work to me it looks like it's raining. problem with perspective is you need to add a feeling of depth to make it seem like it is farther away. Also really good work with oil painting!
I might suggest trying to sketch depth where your lines have a bit more fad to them make sure to keep your angles consistent like drifting might help you a lot.
I like the shadows they give me an impression of fresh rain .
Thanks for the advice 🙂
I'll keep it in mind the next time I draw.
Practice makes perfect, right?
🙂
Actually no perfect practice makes perfect.
Perspective not the greatest but like you said its always been difficult for you, however i thibk that the somewhat flawed perspective gives it character
Thank you :))
just learn the art fundamentals, that's the only way to improve
form, perspective, light, color, composition, gesture, etc
if you focus on learning and practicing the fundamentals, you will improve really quickly
I'd suggest to practice perspective drawing separately. start with one point perspective, then, once you get the basics, move to two point perspective. also do lots of pencil/ink small perspective sketches just for practicing, not final art:)
Yeah.. I think I'll have to do that. Thanks :))
started playing mgs5 therefore:
Very cool artworks guys!!
How should I approach art? Im considering just it as a hobby, but how should I start drawing? My friends say to start with the basics but what are the basics and how do I start?( just some general advice or tips, I don’t want to waste anyone time at all) 😊
Great question! And you're not wasting anyone's time 🙂 One thing I did was to draw everything that I see; even if I drew it horribly, I kept on drawing. You can also look at youtube videos, TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. (literally on any social platform you can see other people's drawings and take inspiration). Another thing I did was trace and copy. That was how I got better at drawing, I would put a piece of paper on top of a phone or tablet and copy. Yes, it is kinda cheating, but that is how I improved. My siblings also just got into drawing and started to trace what they liked, and they are getting a lot better at drawing! And if you don't like something you draw and it is just not working out. Don't worry or think that you are a bad artist! 1. you should trust the prosses or 2. try something else. Everyone has their own art style, you can try realistic, or something like anime or cartoons; you can also try different types of art tools, like crayons, markers, color pencils, paints, watercolors, pens, or even just a pencil. Just try and practice. Practice won't make perfect, but it will help you progress in whatever you are doing. Have fun drawing!!!
Any of y’all have any advice for getting into animation?
AMEN
hey!! our college is organizing several events for mental health awareness week. and i want to participate in poster making and art related events. can anyone give some ideas about it please
Oof, first off animation is pretty difficult at first so I recommend starting simple with the bouncy ball animation, and then trying a walk cycle and going from there. I know there’s a book but you could probably look up principles of animation on a browser or yt. For software I use clip studio but there’s krita for free, both are pretty good. Getting to know the format can be pretty confusing but just start off with knowing where you can add frames, control frame rate, and turn onion skins on and off (that’s how you see your previous frame under your new one). Basically animation is a sequence of frames. Hope this helps.
Who loves movies here?
Me
Thanks rn Im using clip studio and ye it’s just been messy
Well good luck! If you have any specific questions I’d love to help, I’m not an expert but I think I know the basics
hey guys, i was wondering if there's like events or get-togethers for drawing sessions? If you know of any i would love to join sometime 🙂
What's your favourite movie of the year?
Minions 2, Jurassic World
Omg I haven't even watched them🤦♂️
Do you know everything everywhere all at once?
I haven't watched it but you really should watch everything everywhere it's amazing!!!
It's a must
I will take a look, thanks for the advice
I’m down for a drawing sesh
Minions and top gun are my@top 2 rn
But that’s only cuz it’s all I’ve watched
ME TOOOOOO
omg nice let's do it!
what timezone are u guys in lol, i have time for a sesh today
tbh im freee whole day lmao , organize it whenever u want
Unrelated but I found this on reddit. (Idk if he actually said it but it's still nice)
i laughed so hard at this
this tip might seem funny because i don’t think people sketch like this when drawing manga but i think it might help to first sketch out the shapes you see in a squarish way instead of sketching out what your brain thinks it sees ‘hand’ ‘hair’ ‘head’ etc. a lot of artists do this because it simplifies what you’re drawing and it’s easier to draw a sharp shape instead of something round
hi
hellooo
the lighting is amazing and it could be better if you improve the shape of the devil and the girl
Maybe avoid overblending with a blending tool (looks a bit like it, myb try out more sketchy pens?). and put darker and deeper colors and shades on where the light does not get, the whole looks a bit overlighted imo - otherwise just reallllly impressive buddie c.c
Anyone got tips for selling paintings?
I remember back in my small town there were artists selling them when we had a flea market every tuesday. They were of all ages selling all sorts of handmade stuff so maybe that could be cool but idk if people still do these anymore
The lighting is lit (🤭) wow. We can see depth and all. Maybe try to smooth the characters a little so they fit with the type of light or maybe add more texture to the lighting (for example some cracks in the wall if you want to put a wall behind)
Thank you guys!
you can
the “by definition” part was more of an example thing
rather than a direction
at least how i got it
Alright
still practicing stuff but i rlly gotta get to learning how to use color
cant color for the life of me fr fr
But it looks so good in sketch too
Hi I just started drawing on the computer. I may have mistakes, sorry
thats so good wow
that's soooooo good for a beginner dear 💗
Thankyouu ♥️
ofc
HEY
anyone got some tips for facial expression and hair style ? thank you guys :3
I think I should give myself a break...
I accidentally drawn something that's too cursed
Good first try now I suggest trying the same drawing again but draw what you see and not what you think it will take time to get down but it will help improve your precision and accuracy!
Nice work. A tip do you have different types of pencils like H5-B5 they can add a lot of depth to your pictures creating a good look of depth.
I have them, but for some reason I only use only mechanical pencil. I'll try to get out of this habit somehow.
Thanks for a tip
Also blinding stumps will help you out with making it nice and smooth
Never used them. But i will try to buy it.
I like how the skull is drawn from the side. Very cool!
Are there people here who learn to draw by themselves from books and videos? Any recommendations?
I never had any show me how to draw I picked up on it really fast. But like I can tell you being talented doesn't mean anything unless you put in the effort to improve.
watch artists you like the work of draw real time
or speedpaints
anyways WIP cuz im tryna learn how to render stuff so hes my victim rn
Just did this tonight
It was light because I was only doing the light line work with a H5 I will do all the rest of it tomorrow.
Today we will be getting some lunch for the goats. We are cutting grass with a scythe (spelled it wrong in the video whoops). Hope you enjoy :)

Looking for feedback, what do you think I can do to improve, what would you like to see more of and less of?
i took and edited this 3 pictures, what do they make you feel or what do you understand from them?
uhm, maybe that despite that the world is so cruel, animals are just innocent creatures. And that although they’re this innocent, the world (esp. humans) is too cruel to them? Interesting question, had to think a bit
animals bring color to are life's?
I like to thing so
Wow the details! It would be great for studying anatomy not even kidding
It really helps see things differently so when doing the bone work pay closer attention to the curves of the bone's slightly Channing the angle and thickness will change the look entirely.

Procreate!
thank you, I'm gonna get it! (:
first digital drawing
nice
Abmogus
Hahaha genius 😂
Did this for practice with my left hand
Does anyone knows how to draw in perspectives
there are a lot of videos on youtube that break down the concept pretty meticulously with enough simplicity
i think you’re better off referring to those
Yeah also MediBang paint is a good option
Can someone help with the perspective on this, ik that the sink countertop is a little off, and I already fixed it a bit, but I can correct it any further without denting the canvas (this is the under painting in oil so there’s still sometime to correct any mistakes
Also this is a 32x48 I believe, so I can definitely go in and fix more minor errors
(Ik some lines are shaky but that’s just cus of the size)
I wann do fashion design can anybody help me with the extras like, making digital sketches wich can be produced and where to buy stuff like extraordinary fabrics?
The door looks like its about to fall off and the door handle at the inside part is too much available so you can erase a bit of it. And if you draw the wall lines a bit more flat it will look better. Also, the little mirror on the side looks a bit up like its not on the wall. You can change it by making the line much flat
sorry about the shaky lines i hope it helps :))
yooo ty, i didnt notice the mirror, and the door until you said it, ill definitely make the iprovements
My working proses is so fu I add something after I color it every time
And yet I’m still working on the background
What else can I add
Yo people any ideas what I can draw onto this topic?? It has to be a stamp so accordingly let me know ifyk
could anyone recommend me some good references for drawing
you can check this account's boards for inspiration there are all types of art references. https://pin.it/1zPdP7O
also, this website can help with anatomy and poses. https://www.posemaniacs.com/
Posemaniacs.com is a royalty free pose reference for all artists. Our mission is “to create free learning materials for all people who want to be an artist.” We are small teams it would be great if you are happy to help us.
thank you! :))

Thanks
Really good but the fingertips should be curled at the end for next time the shading is well done.
Thanks
doodle sheet of a new chara
Wow great art idea, but i suggest you add some curves to the head to make it more realistic, and their hand is a bit small comparing to their body. The rest is very fine, I like how detailed the shirt's creases are, good job!
One of my artworks! Follow for more on my insta guys, would really appreciate it🧚♀️🤍 insta: @ helinsiberart

hi
i have one question
when you have this theme called the influence of the compositional overlap of the classicist ludwig van beethoven on the developing romanticism
and then theres this thing compositional overlap
as in
what is it
if it was written more in a simple way does it mean just the influence of his music on the developing romanticism?
Im not a musician but I’ll try to make up for my lack of musical knowledge through my limited familiarity with the ideas of the Romantic era. Beethoven was very much trained in the neoclassical tradition but was deeply influenced by Goethe’s poem Storm and Stress whose passion he tried to inculcate in his music argable being the first Romantic musician
Nice bro
Anyone got tips on how to draw better heads and proportions?
i think you have to relate shapes with gestures of a face for a better understanding of proportions. and there is this video may help you https://youtu.be/wAOldLWIDSM
It’s been 6 years since I released my first youtube video on drawing loomis heads and now I think it’s time for a little recap and to give you some new info on it. Subscribe to Proko: http://bit.ly/SubProko
In this video, I’ll do a few quicksketch studies of the average loomis head from different angles.
Parts 2 and 3 will show you how to use...
Ooo thanks a lot man
I've been having trouble drawing a character of mine because I can barely draw a head with good proportions same with a body
practice makes perfect!
np
same here dude. only on digital for some reason. on paper i don't do it, but when i'm in CSP, i always have to fix my characters' big ass heads XD
Ikr XD
Tho I don't do digital because I'm saving for a business laptop and new pc
Here Is a few examples of my art Journey the monkey is the OC i was talking about And Its the most recent pic And the rest Is JoJo's bizzare adventure stuff I drew with reference

Yea I Wish you the best too

Will be happy to get feedback for this piece
very nice!
one little thing i would add a little bit more detail in the jacket, but if u wanted it to be that way, then its perfect!
Great !
gonna try actually finishing this thingie but we’ll see u-u

Yeah I feel his clothes need to improve, Tysm
Quick bench thing in boring lectures 💀

Always the eye blurring i feel that.
Yea, makes it easy and quick lol and it was a bit hard to run a pencil on desk 😂
✌️❤️ i like the detail of the rain that pops of the umbrella and then drip off and dont simply lands on it.
This detail leads to the opinion that its a heavy rain so i like that really much

somewhere arnd 20:00 i start drawing him
the anatomy and proportions are so on point✨✨
well im still stuck on the grid method so that wonky sketch of yours still looks kinda perfect to me💀
bro i’m ngl but the grid method sucks
it teaches you nothing other than copying a picture, you won’t be able to reproduce it without understanding how form n stuff works
exactly except the accuracy part it teaches nothin
but freehand is hell difficult 😑
Cuz the method that I use can only help you draw faces with really sharp features 💀
i wouldn’t stick to a method if you’re really early on in ur drawing journey
try diff things don’t constrain yourself to one way
it’s very limiting
i used to copy drawings off of pinterest as a kid but only when i started using references consciously in contexts that i made up myself did i improve
lemme find a recent thingie i did with a reference
pick a thing you wanna focus on and just use it as a form guideline to whatever it is ur gonna draw. i just used the arm here and the back gesture the rest bullshitted from my mind
it’s not gonna look good at all in the beginning but it all trial and error so go ham and don’t feel bad abt the end result it’s the process that matters
yeahh but the process(improvement) can occasionally be really disheartening cuz in my personal experience, trying nd experimenting with diff art styles tends to have a detrimental impact on your original artistic style.....
i wouldn’t chase for art style either
it just,,, happens tbh
go for studying stuff u cant draw over sticking to a style
does anybody in here knows which app this girl uses for making this anime artstyle.
I thought about, procreate what do u think?
yess procreate makes sense but it might be medibang too since it has useful features for anime style 🤔
WIP of a character thingie again
long ahh blurb abt him that i need to condense for the final thing
Okey thanks

I like
something about the face seems off
nose or head is too long. im guessing head is too long which stretches the nose out and makes it longer too
yes! i noticed that too but can't fix it anymore
u cant get everything right immediately, only time will tell. i believe in you
yeah.. it was my first time painting colored portrait
i did that during my.first black and white paintings
but im trying to find different techniques
and see what suits me the best
im horrible at painting myself its why i prefer pencil drawings and biro art haha
i prefer charcoal haha
this one is my most recent charcoal portrait but i was drawing too fast so its meh
but believe me it's very good already, you'll improve and struck us with some masterpieces ✨
thank you I'll try to improve maybe correct some mistakes on the old ones
its kinda flat and the values are very evenly spred out. i think the face structure is good, especially in the eyes, but the head itself is too evenly lit. try darkening the values as the head gets further away from the light source. it will strengthen the illusion of form and help draw focus to the areas where it is needed.
thank you for the advice. i do have a hard time focusing on where i should darken the face as i either add too much or barely any shadow
yeah, keeping a good value structure is difficult. im assuming you were working from a photo on this?
or was it live model?
either way, just make sure you think of the entire head as one large sphere and not get too caught up in the facial features. Because the features themselves look really good, but the head as a whole needs form. 👍
yes i am aware that the head itself has a weird shape. I would love to fix it if I could
and yes i was working from photo because it was late at night. i chose to draw an older man because i think its better to practice facial feature on them rather than some young models
hello
ugly doodles while i cant draw anything properly
@ocean lotus
i'm sorry WHAT
Kral you talented bean
Thanks, yours are good too dww
you heard that correct

ahahah that fancy stare emote

Damn you crazy wit da inks
how to draw well if there is not much time for this
<@&942391219206647828>
lol thx i rarely draw with them
so i pulled them out to mess arnd
you have 24hrs to delete or banned
That will not work because it will never look right because your lines will be your line work will be off. The best thing to do is draw from memory if you want to draw faster.
Its ok
hello
Does anyone like drawing mandalas? Looking for some outlines
Now that's some top notch thing
thanks! was a fun value study
Gorgeous 🔥
U use Procreate?
hi guys im a beginner digital artist with basics experience on pen and paper, i been using krita, but i want to paint/draw in krita and cant find a good course or material to teach myself, will love a bit of help:D thanks
find a pirated copy of clip studio paint or photoshop then go to youtube. i recommend the channels Sinix Design, Ahmed Aldoori, and maybe marc brunet ( but i find him a little annoying). digital drawing has a big learning curve, and you should just force yourself to do it a lot so you can get used to it. I would challenge you to only use a hard round brush for the first few weeks just till you understand the medium. good luck
A true beginner's guide to digital painting. The best way to learn the basics and get started with it. Remember, much like learning to play an instrument, the most enjoyable way to get good is to take works you like and break them down in a way that makes it accessible without ruining the intent.
A huge thank you to Ahmed Aldoori for letting ...
Yup!
ah ok i will check this out, but can i use krita instead of photoshop or other apps, will there be any major difference in learning
krita works
its weird, but it works
itll jsut be harder to find help on program related stuff
also its pretty easy to find pirated clip studio
ok cool, thanks!
try autodesk sketchbook
Nice attempt the ribs work a little different tho they need more curve to them so it looks less stiff
This is how they look the bones do not connect to the sternum that is actually what is known as Connective tissues (C tissue)
I made the same mistake when I did my ribs
well that was one of the good attempts to draw that I mean the ribs and everything I didn't want the whole body because it's better this way
but thanks for the advice
you're gonna make me cry... this looks like finished manga artwork to me ngl. Now I see what you are saying when you say properly, but erm... these still look pretty fantastic to me
Is this a hades reference? (I have never played)
those look great! I especially love the paintings from life
I tried making digital art a couple weeks ago and it made me never want to draw again
ye it’s hypnos from hades lol
if it’s any consolation this is my first digital art
how long have you been drawing digitally now?
my current problem is just that I draw too many sketches, and these are all 2 minute drawings, none of them are finished in any way. So I have absolutely no experience in finished work, but instead in the basic lines and shapes to make an anatomical structure, and barely that much even
uhhh like 6ish years or smth
it’s not as much as digital practice as it is just drawinf in general, if ur more comfy with traditional u can always translate the skill set into digital
i struggle to finish things too but i do wanna shoot my shot in the industry sometime soonish hence me binging study sessions and trying to build a portfolio
Dang, I gotta study up
can somebody help me edit and modify this clip
Like I don't know how to make the character walk or change it's position
Its half a second long
yeah cz it's my first try .. I would like to learn the basics and create another atleast a 10sec clip
Video is a bunch of images (frames) one after another. If you want to make the character walk change its legs and position frame by frame.
You can look up animation tutorials on youtube
Good job the hand is missing the tenants that go through the knuckles and there should be a bit of a ball at the end of the ulna (bone at the wrist)
yeah I tried drawing the shadows and stuff but just couldn't understand how to continue further as I've never practised drawing hands not just the hand one can easily point out 20 mistakes here lol ....
did not know how to draw hands so couldn't complete the work
That's still a strong start but I suggest a hand study on just 20 hands and drawing different perspectives/positions. It will make you pay more attention to it.
quick doodle of my fav
good shit 👍
CSP
Hey. I want to share this picture with you, cause it was taken a night before I failed my studio work jury. My sister took it when she noticed how desperate I was...if you will, share your honest opinion 🙂
it hard to look after your own mental state when going for something like that. the stress is the hardest part to deal with and can feel completely over whelming.
I honestly wish to complete this sketch
WIP, is there some really visible mistake ? 😅 I'm trying to learn concept art, do you guys has some ressources ?😌
not sure but maybe you can brighten the top of the rocks and add some shadows to the water to depict the movement of the water ig...
composition wise it’s great, first second and third planes kinda mash together though because of the values
since it’s underground and shit maybe add fog behind the main middle rock to separate it and give it more ~mysterious~ vibes
Start by drawing only 20 hands from different perspectives and positions. When doing so draw real hands so you don't simplify it too much. Draw with as much detail as possible so you remember how it looks and then draw your hand the way you like.
wkdjksdk i’d like to disagree
simplification is key
nail down basic forms, detailing can always be added later on
break down hands into simple shapes so it’s not as complicated
i don’t necessarily draw hands rlly well but they’re comprehensive enough lmao
but this is the general form i think abt when drawing them
…or just not bother tbh
Thank you 🙂
Ah not my best but yea
It’s still good tho 🙂
Nice. Do you use a blender tool? The stubby white stick lol
blind contour or half-blind contour drawings of your own hands. Makes ya really look at them XD
alr well do
No i just used brush to blend it
starry night✨
that's so cool!
whoa u did it.. are u van goghh
thanks🌸
hahaha thank you💖

followed heheh
yep
The hand one is so relatable 💀
Why? the shading the fun part.
P-prettty <33
Learning how to paint an eye on Procreate
exactly it's the most fun part..... I tried but it was looking ugly 🥲...i need to experiment more using different brushes
hmm do you use different grads of pencils to shad? my suggestion use using a H5 for all the skin and going darker from there and use the eraser to make the skin lighter that way it feels more neutral. when shading a tip might be to shad only left to right at the same angles and use a blending stump to make it softer.
no actually it's a digital art
are there inbuilt blending tools in these apps?
I see then might I suggest lowering the sternson the colors can be a bit too strong on a lot of digital art and can make it feel unnatural. but a good tip is to improve your black and white it will help you learn color theory better. good luck keep up the good work you will get better at it with constant experimenting.
thank you ✨✨
Which one do you use?
@wispy needle sketchbook and infinite painter
Ohh, no idea about them. I use procreate and it has nice blending tools
This one ?
doodled stuff during steam the other day
hot tho
Yepp
That looks good, ngl. Ya can make the eye more deep

Deep as in?
The detailing, hold on I'll send u one for example
HELLO SUCH TALENT OMG KWKDMEMMCM GIVE ME
did this in after effects 🫦 (still not finished)
Hello guys! Just posted a new art work on my instagram: @helinsiberart
Like and comment🤍🧚♀️
Love the textures!
Hey is anyone interested in looking over my drawing?
I think my anatomy of my drawing is a bit off but I can't figure out what exactly, could anybody help? 😅
sure!
Could I dm you maybe😅
Thank you so much🧚♀️😊
I need this kind of patience in life 🙂
If it is something that you love and are passionate about, you won't even realise the time 😊😅
😂lol yeah I should learn to enjoy and trust the process✨
You got this!!👏👏🧚♀️
ofcourse!!
if I wanted to take this backrground
and extend it to be 1080 by 1920, how would I do that?
(Via Gimp)
Go to image > scale image > input your new values (which happen to simply be twice the size of your picture) > select cubic/bicubic interpolation for the best results
Do you guys happen to have any tips on anatomy ?
Thanks
No problem dude
Hey guys!! I got amazing newss
I just made it to the finals of an art competition held by the biggest tutoring organization in Greece!
this is my trilogy for the theme "Sketch your ideal world"
Would any of you like to vote for me? Its an open vote using google forms!
Sure, send
done
And I just want, with all due respect, to give props to this guy's drawings as well
Also, what country is that ?
Could you explain this picture?
done. Keep up the good work 🍀
Hey guys, I'm stuck here:
I love singing, best thing ever, but here my problem; my voice is very deep (Bass-Baritone).
I can't seem to go any higher even when by forcing, any tips ?
Hey I don't think this is the right server for that question, I'm in a karaoke server, dm me if you want
Sure, if you don't mind
Yes I dmd now

does anyone here know how to use rhino? if so do you have any tips?
anyone have some tips about how to make my art better?
like, ive made things i like but they have all dissapointed me and i feel like ive wasted my life on drawing and now have no other skills
well i dunno what kind of art you make but practicing anatomy has huuuge impacts. draw quick poses every day and you will see the difference. it rlly helps to be confident in your lines and it improves hand-eye coordination. hope this helps!
what exactly do you want to improve
and what kind of art do you make
as in
where do you want to take it, glorifies hobby or career? if career, then what branch do you want to delve deeper in?
I just can't seem to find myself in anything I make. I tried realism and I hate it. I love cartoons but my art is too detailed for that. I use paper and pencil
just keep drawing tbh. if you cant seem to find a style, most likely it’s too early for you to do so. everyone says it, but it is true, finding a style comes by itself and it’s very secondary to actually learning how to draw
do studies, try to comprehend material/form rather than just copying pictures and making them look accurate
alright, thanks for the info!
Could you guys recommend me any books on picture editing (I'm talking RAW format), I use darktable on Linux but am not very familiar with all these parameters
most of the professional artists that i know have told me to sketch something (anything) everyday. even if it’s quick and small. you’ll see improvement because you start to realize patterns and techniques that work for you
Thanks for the advice man!
silly recent doodles
any after effects veteran online?
Rate my Friend's Drawing
Note: Not mine it's my friend's
Not veteran but maybe I can help?
Yep! Study Michel Lauricella's books, they're awesome and very well designed for artists, you learn a lot just by copying, he breaks down the human body part by part and his gesture is awesome so you learn double
Nice job your efforts are really paying off keep it up I got no cetecs 🫡
I say a good 9.7/10 there's something a little off but it still really well done
do you guys know the artist who drew this?
I dont
My last drawing, but sadly enough the person for which it was broke up with me last week
désolée 😦
why is that
the person broke up with you
i mean unless you were happy about it
oh, of course not
but the drawing’s great
thx
I know music isn't the same as art but I need help from any people here who are familiar with music theory or music production.
My end goal is to make video games and soundtracks for said games.
I'm getting started myself but I can send you the link to a pretty instructive channel
And honestly, I think this channel is about all forms of art, but that is up to the mods to decide
@clear steppe thanks a lot. discord isn't letting me reply to DM for some reason. not sure if DM'ing a link is breaking the channel rules or not.
yo Deltarune has some banger music
Only Deltarune song I've listened to is Rude Buster
Haha you're welcome !
DM'ing a link is not breaking any rules, unless the recipient (person receiving the DM) states the link is either a scam, or inappropriate in a ticket.
My fav in deltarune is Karl Roux's theme (I think)
But yeah, a lot of bangers
I just love how he is starting to incorporate the Sega Genesis type of sounds into the OST
soundfont you mean
I'm wondering the legality of soundfonts. I did hear a Earthbound OST on Spotify that was the same music but using a different soundchip.
I definitely want to go for a 16-bit console type of vibe
Interesting take
You'll have to keep me updated on this.
Btw, what's your timezone?
(GMT+1 here)
Maybe we can try things and exchange our opinions on each other's works if you'd like
EST (east coast US)
Could work
you are 4 hours ahead?
5, it's 1am here
5 hours ahead would be 12AM but okay
