So it is possible, just not preferred?

dense goblet
#

yeah it is possible the hardest way and the result will be very very bad trust me

#

it wont be that efficient

cloud zinc
#

Then what is the other options besides free engines? only other option i heard is creating the engine itself this uses c++ and c

#

and I feel like I am not that advance yet, c++ or c in game development is a big hell of headaches

dense goblet
#

and as for me I am just like you in this 🙂

#

no one except for an experienced person working in this bg can tell u abt this clearly

Mdn is a web dev documentation, basically it has all the functions and attributes related to hmtl, css, js etc.

I need some help with moving between forms in java swing.
Lets say I have 2 forms, Form1 and Form2 and I go from Form1 -> Form2 and then decide i want to go back to the previous form by pressing the back button.

The code I have in Form1 is something like:

    ...
    private void btnGoToForm2(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
        Form2 form = new Form2().getFrame();
        form.previousForm = this;
        form.setVisible(true);
        this.setVisible(false);
    }
    ...

and Form2's code is like:

    Form1 previousForm = null;

    ...

    public Form2 getFrame() {
        return this;
    }

    private void btnBackActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
        previousForm.setVisible(true);
        this.dispose();
    }

    ...

The issue i'm having is, The code works when I go from Form1 to Form2 but if i try and implement that same approach to going from any form to Form2 then it is no longer as neat. It has to do with previousForm being of type 'Form1'
I've tried storing the previousForm as type Object but i cant find the correct way to do it.

#

Do any of you have a razer mouse?

#

I need help

#

So I used to play at 400 DPI with the Deathadder essential. It didn’t feel so slow on it and that mouse went up to 6400 DPI max. And on MW my sensitivity was 5.75.

However the same sensitivity on the Basilisk V2, it feels much slower. I have it on 400 DPI and the same sensitivity on MW which is 5.75 but man it feels slower.

You know why this is?

ohkk so it rly depends on wt u wanna do like java is used for app dev and backend (it vague, but u can search for java's uses)
but i would recommend starting with python cuz:
-the syntax is pretty easy
-it has a lot of uses in different fields like ml, web dev, app dev, os etc.
-lots of open-source libraries
-tons of learning resources are there

java and python are my top choices for new comers and a lot of cs (atleast in india) either hv one of these programming langs

# crimson wharf I want to learn to program so I can be involved in the development of a business...

I also recommend python. It's relatively easy to learn. You can learn the pandas module for basic data analysis.
After python, if you find yourself working with software development, learn java (it's harder than python, so I don't recommend it if it's not relevant to your business). If you find yourself working with web development, familiarize yourself with HTML and a web framework (flask).

If you do end up using code for your business, you'll want to have "version control", which keeps track of older versions of your code and allows for collaboration on coding projects. You can do that by learning how to use git/github. I recommend this online book https://www.learnenough.com/git-tutorial

Let's say, you are making a blog website. You can use a framework, and let it take care of all the hard stuff - like running a server, working with database etc

#

A library is like going to Ikea. You already have a home, but you need a bit of help with furniture. You don’t feel like making your own table from scratch. Ikea allows you to pick and choose different things to go in your home. You are in control.

A framework, on the other hand, is like building a model home. You have a set of blueprints and a few limited choices when it comes to architecture and design. Ultimately, the contractor and blueprint are in control. And they will let you know when and where you can provide your input.

#

When you use a library, you are in charge of the flow of the application. You are choosing when and where to call the library. When you use a framework, the framework is in charge of the flow. It provides some places for you to plug in your code, but it calls the code you plugged in as needed.

However I couldn't find anything regarding distributed agreement and how similar or different it is to distributed locking. Would greatly appreciate any help. It's related to Distributed Systems btw

anytime i ask about internships for front end dev people always say html, css, javascript and js frameworks

#

like wtf is the point of doing all that for an INTERNSHIP especially an unpaid one

#

like at that point shouldnt i be heading for jr dev shit

#

isnt the whole point of internship is that you DONT know everything and so thats why you need it

frigid stag
#

I apply for both

wheat vector

But sometimes employers can ask for more than they actually need

So you can apply for all of those, even if you don’t have enough skills

i just dont want to show up in these interviews looking dumb

bc people will say stuff like "just go for it even if youre unqualified" like its all fun and games till they ask you how to build a minecraft game from scratch in 2secs even though you aint even a game dev

@wheat vector don't apply for internships that don't pay

wheat vector

If you want to do front end then yea you'll have to do html, css, js and its frameworks, possibly even mern stack

if you're into dev then maybe go via the mern stack and django route

which

wheat vector

every time im in school, watching a vid, or online courses they always talk about arrays, functions, variables but they never tell us how all this shit connects

but when u go to higher class u know how to use pemdas

if u dont apply pemdas ur answer will be wrong

im asking how these things even connect with each other. the pemdas thing is too straightforward to be compared for me

sterile ginkgo
#

u mean how array and function are connected?

wheat vector
#

How all those basic concepts connect for you to implement them into a project

#

Yeah its up to the individual but like basic projects like making a calculator can be used to break down certain concepts

#

Like deconstructing something to see how its built in the first place

sterile ginkgo
#

see when u are learning addition and subtraction did u ask how it will be helpful in real life or in my study of mathematics?No,but when u grow up u know to use it in real life and how it is helpful now in ur maths subject.It just like that when u study further in computer science/any computer language u will realize how it is useful.

see building calculator is very basic

ok but when u r studying array they tell u that it is collection of elements and it is used when u have multiple elements

The TB says NVRAM uses DRAM. However, the Quora answer is pretty contradictory.

#

It states that DRAM cannot be used.

#

Can someone shed some light on this

zenith frigate
# still flame Can someone shed some light on this

I'm confused by Quora's answer. I feel like having a small battery back up can apply to both SRAM ad DRAM. SRAM stores data in transistors which require constant power flow. So it makes sense to have a battery back up. However, DRAM stores data in capacitors which gradually discharge energy. If there's no energy then the data is lost.....so a backup battery makes sense in this scenario as well?

still flame
#

But that leaves me even more confused

#

XD

#

umm wait i'll probably have a look in other texxtbooks as well

zenith frigate

lol its all part of the learning process. It just means you'll retain the info by the time you get an answer haha

@zenith frigate Does DRAM require CPU intervention for the refreshing process?

#

hey can anyone help me a bit I don't get why in line 9 its printing 100 because in line 6 i have called function func() so it should change the value of x to 200 right?

verbal wraith
#

Value only changes in the scope of fun2(), not outside that scope

#

Also, at line 13, printing x is not logically correct since x only exists within the scope of fun1() and not outside

#

You need to read about variable scoping in Python, I think you're confused

jolly seal
#

1-12-1-2-3-6-7-8-3-4-5-9-13?

#

something like dat?

verbal wraith
#

Yup

#

But x is not a defined variable in your main

jolly seal
#

ye it was a question in my book

#

asking me to tell the output

verbal wraith
#

I don't know what book you're consulting but trying to access the value of a variable that hasn't been defined in that scope is logically incorrect

jolly seal
#

yea but i wanted to know after 5 its line 9 so

#

so since the value of x is already changed its weird

verbal wraith
#

It doesn't change

#

Because line 9 is in the scope of fun1

#

Where the value is still 100

#

fun2 only changes the value in its own scope

jolly seal
#

but then in the last line even though its logically incorrect why does it print 200?

verbal wraith
#

Because since the variable is undefined

#

There is no way to predict what the interpreter will fetch for it 🙂

#

That's why it's incorrect

jolly seal
