yeah it is possible the hardest way and the result will be very very bad trust me
it wont be that efficient
Then what is the other options besides free engines? only other option i heard is creating the engine itself this uses c++ and c
and I feel like I am not that advance yet, c++ or c in game development is a big hell of headaches
do some internship at a gamedev company to see the actual scenario ....
and as for me I am just like you in this 🙂
no one except for an experienced person working in this bg can tell u abt this clearly
can't really since i am 14, Whats the actual scenerio on about it? is it any different from engines?
i really dont know brother because my knowledge was limited to what I said you...am sorry for that but it would be really helpful if u cld seek the help of a professional
Oh okay, thank you for time tho had i had fun
tis alright bro
Yes, mostly because of certain APIs for interacting with GPUs
But I would really recommend diving deeper into C and C++
I think it might be a problem with secure boot, try to turn off secure boot. You should find this option in "Boot settings" or something in the bios.
That's great! you're welcome
i see, thanks
they're tryna be mac lol
Is there someone who study for CompTIA Security+?
Hello everyone!
Is there anybody who can help me with sth rltd to Wordpress
If so, Id be glad if you dm me!
Hei, any react dev here? Need to know about window popup on a web app.
yoo, can anyone explain the meaning of the arrow from the class A to class B?
ty
im starting a computing course in september, but im not sure which note-taking method is the best to use. Any tips? 🤍
well i just write the definitions and the purpose of the particular block of code with an example
and i also attach a copy of the cheatsheet of that particular language
best note taking is practice it out. but yeah write the line and the functions of the code
i’m mainly going to be learning Javascript and HTML
goodluck, i'm learning it too ❤️
i dont have any specific tips foor note taking or studying tips or anything cause it depends on your style. do what efficient 👩💻
Then mdn web docs and stackoverflow r ur saviors
hi! could i find a job if i know html and javascript without a degree?
Start by creating a portfolio, gain experience by freelancing then try and apply for jobs in small startups and all then try for a better job
Does anyone know how to store words in linked lists and print them
a
what are those?
documentation for HTML, CSS, JS and other things web related, mdn web docs
thanks!!! 🤍
stackoverflow has lot of solutions if u face a problem
Mdn is a web dev documentation, basically it has all the functions and attributes related to hmtl, css, js etc.
And stackoverflow is an online developer/programming community, it literally has all the problems related to that language u can think of and if not, u can ask the question urself
Hey, What language does WPF uses? is it CSharp or java?
Hi everyone, I wonder if you can help me with this IT related question? It's about Operating System
I know there is an answer, but I need an situation that can prove this
Hey I'm at work rn and I just have to copy a fuck ton of data from a website to a excel sheet, does anyone have some experience web scraping in python and wanna teach me how to do it
It's a really simple website
All I have to do is copy the name, website, phone number and address.
https://calgarycommunities.com/communities/
here's the link for it just click view list
if that helps
Anyone use the type cover for surface🥺 I have some trouble with it but can not figure it out🥲
is it compulsory to use the function?
why cant i switch to windows from linux mint i use my usb as boot and nth happens just my os opening normally no installation process :/
guys i have to do a 1000 line python project for my school
can somebody help me please
What do you need help with?
Hey
Is anyone learning C programming???
You have some troubles?
@pearl sequoia yes!
Is CS50 enough to learn c lang?
It's a decent start atleast, but it's more for comp sci and not C in particular
Wt is it bout?
I personally think that you should learn python or Java cuz I'm pretty sure it'll be the next FORTRAN in a few yrs (that's wt my mom says)
But then again, a lot of ppl r learning python and Java solely for this reason
Which rly makes u loose ur individuality
And yea, there isn't any language as THE BEST ONE TO LEARN
In embedded electronics, C is still king, and will be for the next 15 years atleast
Actually
Majoring in Computer Application and in the syllabus
C language is there
And I wanna get really good grades
Lol here, for us it's only java T.T
So I thought to start CS50 but was not sure whether that was good or not
CS50 is a good start to understand computer science concept
Cs50: Introduction covers everything
It starts with scratch
Then do a C spesific class after
I actually like java
Wish I could study that first but I can't
I have to go as per the semester syllabus :(
@errant flower great!! Thanks I will get in to that then
Aleast ur syllabus has other things
Sure!
Thanks
CS50 is a great when u wanna start CS, I recommend taking up specific courses related to C if that's ur main focus
I would maybe skip the web development stuff on CS50, but hey, its only an hour long videos
@errant flower what do you mean? Are you also taking computer science?
What language are you studying for now?
@pearl sequoia ohh okay!
@errant flower hmm any recommendations??
I wanna take computers, I'm still in hs so I hv to study all the subjects
Ohhhh
I learnt C through the for dummies book and yt course by freecodecamp
I see! I heard alot about free code camp! Imma try that out! Anyway thanks!!
Gl!
Hey anyone who has some experience in react and wanna work in a great project then please DM me
Even if u have some knowledge of JS that would work too
does anyobody know a good book to use as an introduction to a.i ?
heh, i can give you a book for the mathematics for A.I.
I'm using Netbeans and I have a jTextArea and im using it to display address information.
Is there any simple way to limit the number of rows in the jtextarea to 3 so the user cant type more than 3 rows of data in.
Does anyone know which program should i study? C++ or Python? Thank You for your opinions!
Use a jtable
Yes you can specify the JtextArea to a certain amount of rows but to my understanding the user can still write more, for a more ease of read and understanding experience a Jtable is better
https://course.elementsofai.com/
i did this course on AI, not the best but its helpful
Depends what you want to pursue. If ML or AI then python for sure
Java😇
yeah man, start with python, c# or java if you have no experience yet, C++ will screw you over big time xD
Any WordPress developer here.. need a little help.
just dont use wordpress 😛
hi, basically i have a laptop for graphic design (im a design student) and some very mild gaming. i was wondering, should i set my NVIDIA graphics card as default or should i let windows do it for me? (as in, choose to use integrated graphics card or the nvidia one) ?? Will it damage the graphics card if i keep it as default at all times?
no if you just let windows handle it its fine man
Any reasons bro??.. I'm building a news blogging website.
if i let windows handle it it literally gives me 30 fps on minecraft 😭😭 kinda sad. the integrated graphics card is horrible thats why
problem with wordpress is security, if thats not a big issue then you're fine. was just joking a bit
oh, well then yeah, just let minecraft (and other applications) use the video card
shouldnt have anny problems
ah okay that makes sense. its not bad to just switch to gtx whenever im playing games/editing right?
weird that ur laptop doenst use it automaticly
oh wait, i know what it is. put it on the charger when you want to play videogames/use your videocard
when i open nvidia settings u have an option to let windows choose which one (and it always chooses the intel uhd integrated one) or u can choose to always set it at the nvidia one. rly weird
ah
OH
wait yes now i know
cuz ur videocard drains a crap ton of power
so you want to have the charger plugged in when using it
my battery settings usually show that the pc is working on better battery and not better performance when its not charging
ahhh okay
yes that makes sm sense
thanks luke :))
np m8
Yeahh.. But paid domains also comes with security. And wordpress has basic security as well.. Any other alternative you may know which I can refer tho.
Depends, Angular is a great alternative, gives you more freedom too i believe
Yup agree.. but I don't want to code all the backend right now. Maybe, for now I'm thinking of WordPress and then later building my own site once I have some experience.
fair enough
hi, not sure if it's appropriate to ask here, i have some pdf files (about 300 pages/file) but they have some mistakes, now i need to reverse the order of all pages in 1 file (all page are upside down now) and spilt 1 file. hope u guys can recommend some app or tips to solve it easily cuz im quite low-tech T_T
as far as i know there are "pdf" editors online
you might want to check one of those out
"Adobe acrobat" is a good pdf editor you should try that
thanks for your suggest ❤️ i will try it later
many thanks, i tried and found a great one
welp, I just started learning C++ rip for me xD
oof...
good luck, i suggest you start with regular OOP, and stay away from pointers untill you get a bit comfortable with coding xD
this morning I start learning OOP (access specifiers) and my brain can't keep up xD
pls for ur own sanity, start with c# or python
hahaha
im learning the basics of python now, wish me luck
hey !
I am struggling 😫 with Infix to postfix conversion . Can anyone give me tips how to deal with it ?
if my GPU’s fan gets very loud at 55-65 degrees, can I change the curve of the fan speed?
what do you mean by curve?
.
there are good lectures on YouTube, I learnt using Jenny's lectures, take a look at them :))
don't just learn, solve problems... that's the only way you're going to retain anything pal...
Okay ,,Thank you !!
not for you, but okay XD
can anyone explain how captures in lambda expression work in C++ please?
I am watching jenny's lecture since 2019!1
for DSA ..
XD okay
yup
u can usually change how loud u want the fan to be, its displayed in a curve diagram.
anyone here ever experienced samsung's device stuck on downloading screen?
samsung galaxy tab s6
i thought the device already unlocked the OEM but when im trying to use Odin. It fails because the OEM still locked and now i'm stuck on the download blue screen
anyone can help?
nope, but if ur phone does freeze then restart it
is the void method, pure or impure
hey, i have a question about ARP, I've been playing with wireshark a bit and noticed that there are machines that always ask for the MAC of that ip, even though they asked it like 30 seconds ago, why? isn't there a cache for it where they save the values? or does it have to do something with DHCP?
for exampled "hey im 192.168.69.4, what's the mac of 192.168.69.1?" and then he asks it again 15 seconds later
i would love to help you with this, but i failed my computer networking class xD
Hey, I have a question , I'm learning Web-dev , I made a website in html using css for design , after i renamed the site to .php all my css design isn't working on the site ....I can't find the error or what I'm doing wrong....can anybody help
yeah
ermm
m8, yo cant just rename ur site to .php
thats a completely different language
but what exactly did you do?
I changed the site from .html to .php ....i was going to add php code into it so that it can work with the database
I got it working now....had to create a new css file and paste the code there ...idk why the previous css file didn't work
You want to create a seperate php file, and use that somewhere inside the html file
arch
Clean
what software is used for Javascript on mac
VS Code will run on mac os. you should use that to work with js files
tfw when not using a wm 😦
thanksss
my headset mic is too noisy and bass boosted, i bought few hours ago and people cant hear me because the bass is too loud
is there a possible way to fix this high bass noise which is coming from my mic? people cant hear me otherwise
could be the integrated sound card inside of the motherboard of your pc
try to buy an external one, there are really cheap ones out there
That thing exactly happened to me, the motherboards generate noise that sometimes leak into the analog circuit generating that noise, try that external sound card
Vs code
can i use it for html too?
guys I know it's a bit of a dumb question but does anyone know which software I could use to code a website apart from Dreamweaver?
just wanna see your guys recommendations?
You mean vm?
Oh window manager
No haven’t experimented with one yet
Any good resource (free & paid) for learning three.js?
i have a question for coding and it may seem dumb but yeah it’s important for me. do you think anyone could code? or do you think it requires a certain level of intelligence, like only smart people should go into this field?
YES!!
USE VS CODE
as in visual studio code?
yes
I actually have that software downloaded but didn't even know I could make websites from it. Anyway thank you so much!😊
depends on what they're making, but learning to code isn't super hard. Some people have an easier time doing it but i think anyone can learn. Not everyone is going to be a linus torvalds though
It depends on what you are going to code, but in general, everyone can code (including kids).
oh okay so basically like any other field, right? obviously not everyone can excel remarkable, but pretty much anyone can learn.
Many people who learn to code for the first time experience "impostor syndrome" and feel that they are not smart enough / or that other people are learning much faster than they are.
Everyone is starting from a different place and everyone learns differently, but certainly anyone can learn how to code.
U can use that for literally every language
Anyone here has experience in getting started with web extensions?
okay great
also does anyone know what AJAX is
sorry for all the questions i just want to be as prepared as possible
It is used for dynamic content if I remember correctly, When you are using a timer or a particular indicator, the value must be dynamic and you might need it
at this point I don't pay attention if something is a programming language itself, I just use what I need, I used AJAX when developing a website server in a embedded system
secret_word = "bruh"
Guess_Limit = 3
Guess_Count = 0
guess = ""
Out_Of_Guesses = False
while guess != secret_word and not(Out_Of_Guesses):
if Guess_Count < Guess_Limit:
guess = input("Enter the word you are guessing : ")
Guess_Count += 1
else:
Out_Of_Guesses = True
if Out_Of_Guesses:
print("YOU LOSE! ")
else:
print("bruh")
any1 know whats wrong with this code?
when i guessed the word bruh it didnt print up the word bruh in the end
because the if else where the bruh is
is under the else statement
u have probably made an indentation mistake
secret_word = "bruh"
Guess_Limit = 3
Guess_Count = 0
guess = ""
Out_Of_Guesses = False
while guess != secret_word and not(Out_Of_Guesses):
if Guess_Count < Guess_Limit:

oh that’s nice to hear, thanks!
Hi is there anyone who's in EEE, needed some basic circuit analysis help
On the left is my code C++, on the right is the result. I don't want them to be duplicated, don't output 2:3 3 times like that, but i don't know how.Can somebody help me please😭 😭
is there any other software other than VS Code that i should download to help me with JavaScript and HTML
all items in the list have to be unique?
You can try Sublime Text, but VS Code is the best tbh
Or do you mean software in addition to VS code?
I really like Webstorm from JetBrains, but it costs. If you study at a collage you can probably get a free licence however.
I need some help with moving between forms in java swing.
Lets say I have 2 forms, Form1 and Form2 and I go from Form1 -> Form2 and then decide i want to go back to the previous form by pressing the back button.
The code I have in Form1 is something like:
...
private void btnGoToForm2(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
Form2 form = new Form2().getFrame();
form.previousForm = this;
form.setVisible(true);
this.setVisible(false);
}
...
and Form2's code is like:
Form1 previousForm = null;
...
public Form2 getFrame() {
return this;
}
private void btnBackActionPerformed(java.awt.event.ActionEvent evt) {
previousForm.setVisible(true);
this.dispose();
}
...
The issue i'm having is, The code works when I go from Form1 to Form2 but if i try and implement that same approach to going from any form to Form2 then it is no longer as neat. It has to do with previousForm being of type 'Form1'
I've tried storing the previousForm as type Object but i cant find the correct way to do it.
No, ex: Input 2 2 3 4 6 4 2 --> Output: 2:3 3:1 4:2 6:1 instead of
2:3 2:3 3:1 4:2 6:1 4:2 2:3 . And after the sign : is the number of item occurrences of in list
yeah
Anyone have any recommendations as to which laptop is the best for como sci majors
I use Vim and Prettier extensions in VS Code, first one helps edit code faster, and second formats code when I hit save
yeah all JetBrains products are free for students
i prefer atom for web dev
any gaming laptop or a laptop with a rly good processor is sufficient
Ty ty. Do you think a MacBook Pro is has a good enough processor
yupp its fine, but i would rly prefer a laptop with linux instead of mac os
import random
number_guess = random.randint(0, 10)
Guess = ""
Guess_Limit = 3
Guess_Count = 0
Winner = False
while Guess != number_guess and not(Winner):
Guess = int(input("Enter a number: "))
if Guess > number_guess:
print("Value Too Big. Try Again!")
elif Guess < number_guess:
print("Value Too Low. Try Again!")
elif Guess == number_guess:
print("You Guessed The Number!")
Winner = True
if Guess_Limit > Guess_Count:
Guess_Count += 1
else:
Winner == False
break
if Winner == True:
print("Good Job! You WIN!")
print("Guess Counter: " + str(Guess_Count))
else:
print("You LOST! TRY AGAIN!")
print("Guess Counter: " + str(Guess_Count))
Can Any1 help with this code? i tried it and it works but the guess counter should be 4 when it only should be 3? is it because it read 0, 1, 2, 3 because of the string? and can any1 find me a solution? thanks!
yuo shouold do if Gues_Limit >= Gues_Count
the > operator will only produce false if Gues_Count is bigger then Gues_Limit, so only at the fourth try
thats where your fourth gues comes from
ohhh okk tyy
hey there, i would like to know if I miss something in the if statement because every time i type the answer the bot will message both correct and wrong.
async def on_message(message):
if message.content.startswith('Trivia'):
channel = message.channel
await channel.send('**Welcome to this Trivia! There will be 5 questions that you have to answer.**')
await asyncio.sleep(2)
await channel.send('*type yes if you are ready*')
def check(m):
return m.content == 'yes' and m.channel == channel
msg = await client.wait_for('message', check=check)
await channel.send('Who invented The Theory of Special Relavity?'.format(msg))
def check(m):
return m.content == 'Albert Einstein' and m.channel == channel
msg = await client.wait_for('message', check=check)
await channel.send('Correct! Next question'.format(msg))
if msg != message:
await channel.send('Wrong Answer! The correct answer is Albert Einstein!'.format(msg))```
^ its discord.py btw
nvm solved it sorry for bothering!
any gimp users here? How do i use the erase button its not working
ah nevermind i figured it out
How do I get started with ethical hacking? Any recommended resources for absolute beginners?
use Virtual machines and VPNs always lol
Lol I use em, but uk I wanna learn more skills than just using the terminal xd
first start with learning the basics of networks and cryptography
after that, you can try out Over The Wire
I can't find the "#chatandchill" text channel.. can anyone help me out
Any resources for that?
Networks :- Networking Top Down Approach book
Cryptography :- Dan Boneh course on Coursera
there are other resources too, feel free to explore on your own and study from what suits you most
Cool thx for ur help
how do i get back tick on mac keyboard
ohh nevermind i found it 😂
ive never used the key before
Do you guys have any experience with machine learning or image classification?
whats wrong with this code?
`let season = 'summer';
if (season === 'spring') {
console.log('It's spring! The trees are budding!');
} else if(season === 'winter') {
console.log('It's winter! Everything is covered in snow.');
}`
What’s the error?
I mean, this code is not gonna log anything, because it only accounts for spring and winter
Anyone familiar with discord.py?
@dreamy zephyr Dam i failed you there bud, I tend to create every single items in my swing frame into an array and create a background task that manages all windows I open and close
You said it didn't work by creating a PreviousForm object and that's what I would of tried
So no clu
Alright lads I am trying to make a transparent Frame in java and it seems it is not possible. Does anyone know if it is possible in Phyton?
a nested function is a function within a function
so for example:
myFunction(text)?
How do I get started with hacking? Any recommended resources for absolute beginners?
@errant flower hacking, brhahahshshhsahhahahahaaga
really bruh
I wanna learn it for securing my systems better rather than hacking "hacking"
If u hv some info to provide then feel free to do so otherwise just */
And yea, stop commenting on others based on ur "pop culture" knowledge
start with linux, the OSI model and knowledge on network protocols
Yea but there r too many resources to begin with
there are the basis
You cannot exploiting a vulnerability without knowing perfectly how a network is made; begin with linux and in parallel , learn the osi model and protocols; that is a starter pack
I'm asking bout resources from which I can learn these from :)
Honestly , youtube is your friend for linux and for the osi model, you can try with cisco if you can
I did learn the basics of Linux from freecodecamp, will checkout Cisco
Thx for ur help :)
that is called Netacad, but not sure that is totally free, try to see if you high school/ university can give you access to the CCNA
good luck
Yupp thx
And yea, stop commenting on others based on ur "pop culture" knowledge
@errant flower pop culture? Even more bruh
After that we see those script kiddies with zero ability to pentest systems
cant u learn on your own? --help and MAN helps lol
the best way to learn terminal
Yea cuz I'm not a movie protagonist who knows everything, like I said again comment if u hv anything valuable to provide
U srly think that it'll be enough to secure ur system and accounts? Bruhhhh

BRUH, girl you cant do sh/t without terminal
Well I'm already one with that, I think u shud rly read the above chats to get some context
Yea well it goes for u and ur 💩 opinion
offended woman
Thank you.
i did it on codecademy and it’s saying it’s wrong because i didn’t put the else if
but obviously i did
Hey guys i need a fast free lesson about API how and where it is use, and why
Lol , ur code is error free , but as u r doing it on Codecademy , they will give error bcoz u r not printing anything in terminal , so they will not be able to check ur code . So add one else statement and chill.
can you give an example please
like add else {console.log('summer')} , just anything , and do check
If you're going to add special characters in your string like the ' character, you should use ` to encapsulate the string instead of ' or "
let season = 'summer'
if(season === 'spring') {
console.log(`It's spring! The trees are budding!`)
} else if(season === 'winter') {
console.log(`It's winter! Everything is covered in snow.`)
}
You should get used to this in practice because this also allows for easy adding of variables into strings such as
let season = 'summer'
console.log(`The current season is: ${season}`)
Anyone here using/learning RStudio?
I've used it before, what's up
i’ll give that a go
thanks!!
I don't know if it'll actually fix your error, I assume it won't. I don't know what environment you're working in that's giving you issues. I just noticed that's something you can pick up on.
I don't know if you're able to, but it'd be nice if you could share the exercise the code originates from. It'll help us understand what you're supposed to do 🙂
Hi everyone I am planning to learn coding especially to get up to cloud computing but before I wanted to learn web development and python so I wanted to ask which resource is best to learn from scratch. I am currently learning from free code camp but I am confused if to use fcc or code academy or code avengers. Any resource and guidance is extremely appreciated
i just finished the rest of it and it eventually ticked them all off

I'm assuming this is python btw, sorry if I got it wrong
In case it is python, you should also have a look at this article:

hi
hey guys! can I deal IT without prior knowledge to programming? I'm thinking of taking it this school year...
Yes you can, you'll learn along the way
It depends on the area you want to do in IT.
Depending on what the course is structured like you'll deal with things like project management, discrete maths, and maybe some programming
Yup, you may not program at all depending on what kind of sector of IT you're in
Hello
did anyone do the international year one ? for a UK uni ??
Depends on the field though
Since u r planning to take up IT, I think u shud learn coding to get a head start and better understanding
Then again, it all depends on the area that u'll study
Well its only 15%-ish faster than RTX3080, so it's not that worth it
Ohkk so rtx 3080 costs 50k inr and rtx 3090 costs double, for a 10-20% increase, this rly doesn't justify the increase in price
Oh I see
Thank you for your input 🤗

I'm using netbeans and im getting this error whenever i push my commits to github
anyone know how i can fix this easily
maybe by removing the local commits?
it isnt too big of a deal but its annoying as i keep having to click yes each time it appears
I want to learn to program so I can be involved in the development of a business I want to start in the future what is the path I should take like what languages should I learn and in what order
Yo guys
Do any of you have a razer mouse?
I need help
So I used to play at 400 DPI with the Deathadder essential. It didn’t feel so slow on it and that mouse went up to 6400 DPI max. And on MW my sensitivity was 5.75.
However the same sensitivity on the Basilisk V2, it feels much slower. I have it on 400 DPI and the same sensitivity on MW which is 5.75 but man it feels slower.
You know why this is?
Just start learning python, then when you have figured out more precisely what you want to do, you can potentially start learning a different language (although you can do a lot of things just with python). Get a book on python, or enroll in a course. If you want to develop android apps, then learn Java instead of or in addition to python.
what about ios apps and websites?
Swift for iOS, and for websites just start watching youtube videos tbh
ohkk so it rly depends on wt u wanna do like java is used for app dev and backend (it vague, but u can search for java's uses)
but i would recommend starting with python cuz:
-the syntax is pretty easy
-it has a lot of uses in different fields like ml, web dev, app dev, os etc.
-lots of open-source libraries
-tons of learning resources are there
java and python are my top choices for new comers and a lot of cs (atleast in india) either hv one of these programming langs
for ios, learn swift
and for websites learn html, css and js or python flask
I also recommend python. It's relatively easy to learn. You can learn the pandas module for basic data analysis.
After python, if you find yourself working with software development, learn java (it's harder than python, so I don't recommend it if it's not relevant to your business). If you find yourself working with web development, familiarize yourself with HTML and a web framework (flask).
If you do end up using code for your business, you'll want to have "version control", which keeps track of older versions of your code and allows for collaboration on coding projects. You can do that by learning how to use git/github. I recommend this online book https://www.learnenough.com/git-tutorial
hey guys, can someone give an example of project which was created with API (mini project)? i just want to understand how it works in code
Do you mean a project that uses a publicly available API as a resource? Or a project which builds an API?
Here is an simple python example which gets data from a weather API
https://github.com/jsubroto/5-day-weather-forecast
Note that the API data is called here
json_data = requests.get(api_call).json()
Although I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for. API can mean a lot of things.
What would be a good starting programming language for like coding video games?
Should i wait for the ipad 9, gen or buy just the 8. gen ? need for school
is anyone able to assist me with some code that i have written
sure
I'm sort of on a call right now, so you can just send me your question first
And if we can't figure it out over text I can hop on a call with you later
Is that okay?
that's fine
anything is fine really
i always wanted to do 100 days of code. I was thinking of doing 100 days of c++. does anyone wanna do this as a study group or something?
i feel like this would be a fun way of staying motivated
I saw someone in a study channel with that goal actually
I think he was at like 6/90
I'm interested, but on a smaller scale : ~30 days (learning in advance Java for my 2nd year of college, civil engineer). Tell me if you're okay with that
im down, im also trying to learn c++
just get the 8, they won't add anything super fancy to the 9 anyways
ive recently started to code (c language) n the thing is, i cant think of anything to do after learning c; lik i cant find any projects to make using it - any ideas guys?
well im thinking of starting 100 days of python
start with python, then u can learn c# or c++ and all
thx
both
i meand
meant
but in JS we can use API?
Hey guys, I have a question about a simple program in a coding course, so when I put seek(0) the first line under the with block it works, but when I put the seek(0) line under the content = file1.read(), it doesn't work, why is that? Thank you guys in advance.
What do you mean when you say it doesn't work? Do you get an error, or does the code not return what you expect it to? I'd find it odd that it wouldn't work as I assume the pointer is set to offset 0 by default. Have you tried to compile this code on your own, without using the assignment environment? It could just be their requirement
In this documentation it suggests that the offset is 0 by default:
https://www.tutorialspoint.com/python/file_seek.htm
Python File seek() Method - Python file method seek() sets the file's current position at the offset. The whence argument is optional and defaults to 0, which means absolute file positioni
Okay cool i can make it 100 for now but u only do ~30
Coolio
Arduino projects. But its c++
Okay cool maybe we can just do 100 of coding in general
Yupp
Ok thanks
i wanna do it too soon after i done with my exam
That's the exact reason I had to take a break from it be4
I'd very much be down for c++
Okay cool. Ill try to add everyone who’s interested in a study group. Im trying to figure that out atm 😂
We can set up a different time if now is not good
Hi guys, I have a problem wrapping text in css using grid. Can someone help me? Also I recorded a video where you can see the issue. The code:
html:
<div class="container">
<div class="subtitle" style="grid-area: 1 / 1;">Get <span id="violet-p">insights</span> that help your business grow.</div>
<p class="paragraph" style="1 / 2">Discover the benefits of data analytics and make better decisions regarding revenue, customer experience, and overall efficiency.</p>
</div>

css:
.container {
background: hsl(244, 38%, 16%);
max-width: 70vw;
height: 30rem;
margin: 10rem auto 10rem auto;
border-radius: 10px;
display: grid;
grid-template-columns: auto;

}
/* subtitle */

}
starting on August would be good
Yeah thats okay with me
I wanna learn Python and also c++
i think u guys have to add me as a friend to make a group btw
seems we're both on the same boat aha
hop in the boat 😅

can anyone explain why what is are frameworks and why we need them
and dumb it down please bc every time i ask people think using a dictionary definition is gonna me go like "YeAh I gEt It "
Anyone here got experience with image classification?
Im getting into machine learning and wanted to work on an image classification project. I dont have much experience or knowledge about it tho. I had been looking at this tutorial on the Keras Sequential model
Is there anything you guys would recommend? An article to understand image classification better? Different approaches? Different algorithms?
Subtitle and paragraph have fixed width - 20 and 22 rem. Try changing that to max-width
They are basically tools to make your development easier. For example, Django is a web development framework written in Python. It has a lot of cool functions built in, like user authentication, content management etc. With Django, you don't need to code all of that from scratch, which will save you a lot of time
Let's say, you are making a blog website. You can use a framework, and let it take care of all the hard stuff - like running a server, working with database etc
idk if it helps or not, different frameworks serve different purposes, so it depends on what you want to do
Hey, yeah I've got some experience. I actually wouldn't mind sending you the paper I wrote for my machine learning course, maybe it'll give you some ideas?
We tackled this dataset using a convolutional neural network
https://www.kaggle.com/puneet6060/intel-image-classification
nah you def helped thats so much easier to understand. so what about all this extra stuff like gulp, webpack or parcel??? what do they do and why do we need those
we use framework to ease our work cause we dont have to start from scratch. like bootstrap; u just reuse the code and change it based on ur reqs
okay so whats the difference between a library and a framework?
one min people say its not the same but ive heard people use the terms interchangeably or maybe that just me
A library is like going to Ikea. You already have a home, but you need a bit of help with furniture. You don’t feel like making your own table from scratch. Ikea allows you to pick and choose different things to go in your home. You are in control.
A framework, on the other hand, is like building a model home. You have a set of blueprints and a few limited choices when it comes to architecture and design. Ultimately, the contractor and blueprint are in control. And they will let you know when and where you can provide your input.
When you use a library, you are in charge of the flow of the application. You are choosing when and where to call the library. When you use a framework, the framework is in charge of the flow. It provides some places for you to plug in your code, but it calls the code you plugged in as needed.
libraries and framework both a reusable code that will ease ur work. it just diff in inversion of control
just another way for react devs to dunk on angular, because rEaCt iS a lIbRArY nOT a fRaMEwORk
i think people usually use it interchangeably
i like that analogy too
are you serious this whole time i felt stupid just googling it and still not telling a difference
i mean, I really don't care if this thing called library or framework, what it can do is more important
ikr
i suggest you just start learning either of these things and then figure out what is better for you
well thanks for the help yall. im not working on frameworks yet bc im still learning the javascript. but it is nice to learn these terms that are always being thrown around
yup, writing good code is a lot more important than what library you use
or wht framework u choose
good point, never thought about it
i means that's right but u gotta know the definition, the functions, the difference. the functions will be understood more by practice of course
how experienced are you with ml?
hv u taken any basic ai and ml related courses?
I’ve done some basic regression projects
and wt is ur lvl in python?
so can i assume u r advanced?
@errant flower Think he meant intermidiant
yea maybe
well if thats the case then i'll recommend the ztm machine learning course
or even the app brewery one is good
https://www.udemy.com/course/complete-machine-learning-and-data-science-zero-to-mastery/
https://www.udemy.com/course/python-data-science-machine-learning-bootcamp/
gateron brown or blue switches . which one is better ?
It really depends on how loud you want your typing to be. I am a huge fan of brown switches all around as they are smooth and very comfortable for long typing days. Blue switches can become obnoxious over time.
okay thnx
not sure if this is the right place to ask, but i have an iPad 2 that was running iOS4 (4.2 i believe), i booted it up after a while and got a message asking me to connect to iTunes. When i connected to iTunes its pretty much telling me i can't recover my data and need to either restore a backup (which i dont have) or restore the iPad to factory settings.
Does this mean all my data on the iPad is gone forever, or is there a way to get my data back?
Anyone Got A Clue If These Specs on a laptop is worth 1500$ USD?
Which brand is it?
I think the price is okay, considering wt v get for the same price in india
Gigabyte Aorus 5 MB Core i7 10th Gen GTX 1650Ti Graphics 15.6" 144Hz FHD Gaming Laptop
thats what its called
Anyone who has experience in making drones can y'all help me out 🥺
@thorn lantern do u mind banning that bot?
How can I get the number of columns with missing values in a dataset Pandas?
dataset.isnull().sum()
dataset is what I renamed my dataset but everything else is the same. Let me know if this helped
not gonna lie, unless this is super light and portable it seems pricey in comparison to an AMD ryzen laptop
lmaooo nooo
i hope you didnt buy it
you can get one hell of a system for 1500
thay tryna scam you my guy
hey im living in india and im having my aunt bring me a laptop from florida so im planning to buy it on sale like back to school or something else , so when do you think is a good time to buy like idm waiting all year
and when is back to school offers in the usa can anyone help me out with the timings ?
The specs I want is like 2000 for amd I already checked the and price brother

Wait what happened?
Sorry just saw this now
Ohh oki oki
Ugh these steam scams are really annoying i cant automise it either
Maybe if i ban the word csgo from the server kfkdkfjdjd
No one is allowed to talk about scgo👀
men that be rude 😭
lmao can't you ban that entire string
every bit says the same thing
I'm leaving this game blahblahblah Just ban that whole thing
plus what about an anime club 😅
you can ban the word "stearncommunity", it's the fake link they usually use
wouldn't it me cool if there was a room where people could just program together
be*
Can use non-silent study rooms for this
thay always type something different
I have stearncommunity banned haha
It's always sum different
comminytiu lmao
hey anyone active here
whats up
guys, i need to learn abo pascal. Anyone has idea for me coz am a beginner, i mean a rl beginner so u guys have web to learn or sum tips? Thank you so much for answering me 🥰
yo peeps - any idea how to learn css quickly (me like to work with js mostly but it feels lik not knowin css will hold me down)
there's lot of good websites u can learn from and ofcourse the best way is to practice it and play it around in ur code. like for example when u do css for gradient or anything, keep being curious "wht if i change the size", "what if i do this and that".
does it have a graphics card
wait
it does
it's a 1650ti and an i7 10th gen
i think the price is ok
yeah
do u think an ipad is necessary for coding?
@nova basin I wouldn't say it's necessary for coding. I use mine as a secondary display sometimes but if that's what you ultimately want then I suggest getting a monitor (bigger/cheaper)
so monitor is better than ipad?
If your only reason for getting an iPad is to use it as a secondary display, then I think you should consider a proper monitor.
Whats the best editor for youtube videos for someone who has never edited before?
well okie. so its better to use 2 screen or what?
I have an ipad and I never use it for coding. A second monitor is much cheaper and much more useful for coding.
thankyou for the opinion. idk abt monitor setup lol
sure thing!
Yeah I find a monitor convenient when I'm coding. I like to have my ide/terminal on one screen and documentation/web services/frontend on the other screen.
Anyone here mind helping me figure out this code?
try w3 schools, just grab the basics
css isn't meant to be learnt anyways,
it's meant to be experimented
what's the os there?
Idk it's probably anyone u want accept Mac
Except
confirm that before hand if you're planning to buy that one
Heya~! Someone know how to set virtual machine witch PS4 or PS5 OS?
yo guys, i need ur help. so basically v hv this activity and this is the prompt:
The year is 2077 and mankind has colonized other planets in the solar system. Design an interplanetary service/product to aid mankind with its future endeavours in outer space.
And i hv to submit any one of these:
A functional website / an app mockup for their concept / An advertisement or promotional video - duration of the video should be 30 seconds - 1 minute / 2 posters / 2 3D Renders of your product or service / 2 Logo Designs along with usage guidelines
So any recommendations? [im planning to design a website]
anyone ever did the Azulejos greedy sort? Do you have any completed C or reference C codes that I may use? really struggling with it that im willing to pay for the codes too
What order should I learn front end
Html, css, JavaScript, js frameworks, then what?
And some people are saying i should learn SASS after css
And i have to do all this shit before even THINKING about internships?!
html, css, bootstrap, js and then u can start backend if u want
i learnt sass after i was done with the rest
lol i applied internships while learning css
for web dev internships, html and css r actually fine (only for small scale purposes)
Yeah well people oit saying sum "if you dont know frameworks good luck getting an intership" like jfc what dont i have to do to get an intership
@tall cosmos ```void srtheap(void *base, size_t nelem, size_t size, int (*compar)(const void *, const void *)){
heapify(base,nelem, size, compar);
return;
}
int left(int i){
return (2*i + 1);
}
int right(int i){
return (2*i+2);
}
int parent(int i){
return ((i-1)/2);
}
void heapify(void *base, size_t nelem, size_t size, int (*compar)(const void *, const void *)){
for (int i = 0; i < nelem; i++){
for (int i = 0; i<nelem; i++){
char *index = (char *)base + size * i;
printf(index);
}
int pos =i;
if (i == 0){
char *index = (char *)base + size * i;
}else{
char *index = (char *)base + size * i;
char *parIndex = (char *)base + size * parent(i);
if (compar(index, parIndex) > 0 ){
swap(index, parIndex,size);
pos = parent(i);
index = (char *)base + size * pos;
parIndex = (char *)base + size * parent(pos);
while (pos != 0 || compar(index, parIndex) > 0 ){
swap(index, parIndex,size);
pos = parent(pos);
}
}
}
}
return;
}```
Getting this error
I've web scraped data from a webpage and wanted to save it to my firebase real-time database. I didn't get any errors however, it was taking nearly an hour to compile. can anyone help me figure out what's up?

More of a PC question but does anyone know any good GPU that supports 3 monitor? I'm not really looking for gaming quality, more so that I can use two screens and a surface tablet to draw.
For more context, I've been eyeing this one:
@balmy tigerI'd recommend a RX 580 which is what I got it can handle up to 4 monitors but careful because it will generate more heat so check the cooling solution for what ever prebuilt you go for
my sister got this one https://www.bestbuy.com/site/cyberpowerpc-gamer-master-gaming-desktop-amd-ryzen-5-3600-8gb-memory-amd-radeon-rx-580-500gb-ssd/6452139.p?skuId=6452139
ignore the gaming tag if you arent into gaming but the gpu is pretty good for photoshop and so is cpu
it also doesnt heat up it stays cool with what ever you throw at it
it costs 1,049 but if you wait for chirstmas it goes down to 800
The original price was 800 but the gpu market said yeet and the price went up to 1000
i personally think either filmora x or imovie
if you're on a mac
how bout for windows
yeah
for windows the best free alternatives are
filmora x
and premiere pro (not free but you can crack it)
Where do you find those
they advertised in on some discord server
regarding this, should i get a PC-ALL-IN-1 ? like the cpu is in the monitor
It depends, maybe you want to change some components in the future, if you have a proper desktop you will be able to change 1 particular component without touching anything else
i see, thanks for the opinion. really appreciate it
Hi everyone. I need to create a multiple choice quiz book. Is there any tool better than Word to do that?
The problem with Word is I can't link question and answer (so if I move a question, e.g. question 130 becames question 198, I need to manually replace the answer) so even a way to do that would be great.
maybe you can by adding the answers and footnotes (and reverse the line/ turn it upside down, so it's harder to read: os ǝʞᴉl). footnotes are automated i believe
sounds like you need a list of tuples in python 🙃
Thank you for the idea, unluckily letters A-E are easily distinguished even upside-down.
aah true true
Thank you, it's not that easy but I'll give a catch. I mean, using tuples is pretty easy, the problem is gonna be move variables into Word. Thank you again!
If you're able to create a list of tuples you can just write those to a text file
seems to be phishing, be careful
you seem very concerned on replying but not on deleting all links
hey, am I the only one with this discord server bugged? I can't scroll down through the rooms
Is your Internet working ok?
Perfectly fine 600mbps optic fiber
Have you tried closing discord and reopening it again?
Or is it still not working after doing that too
Closing and opening several times, reinstalling, trying on discord on the browser... It is happening only for this server
Oh thats weird, its working fine with me. Is it just on your laptop only? Or is the same with happening with using the mobile app version on it too?
Mobile app works fine, I'm not sure, really weird, I just wanted to know if it is me thing
it's "ur thing" only
anyone happen to know how to read Medium articles for free?
i think you can't
It's not solved yet but Thank you anyway!
so what is sass and why do we need it??? dumb it down for me
how is it better than css and if it is can someone learn it without learning css?
yeah i wanna know too. also, is it better to just learn css or learn sass?
you need to learn css first, sass is just a tool in addition to css
https://sass-lang.com/guide i think this is a good explanation
Syntactically Awesome Style Sheets
Hey guys, i want to learn web development with django. So visual code or visual studio which one prefer for django guys
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/30527522/what-are-the-differences-between-visual-studio-code-and-visual-studio
i think this might help ya
Hey, I am facing the same issue.. did you manage to fix it??
no, sorry, I've tried everything and nothing worked, I have raised a support ticket to discord, lets see if they can help, I will post the solution in here if they solve me the problem
Now even i am facing it!
I'm just starting off with databases, does an hash id given to the primary key of a record in an SQL database a 'surrogate key'?
for-example there's this spotify client id, which looks like an hash to me, but it needs to be used for spotify's web api services, so is that a 'surrogate key'?
clear cache, try different browsers, don't log in
some stuff that works...
Anyone do competitive programming?
surrogate key which i got from google is candidate key. and candicate key is a key that can get you all others information from an entity. additionally candidate key cant be more simplified. The hash id (from which i google is a string of ints) seems fit into surrogate key category, since it unqiue, cant be simplified more. Yeh seems like a surrogate key for me.
pycharm
any good noise cancellation headphone recommendations for around 50 bucks?
soundcore q20
its a lil over 50, but its a great buy
ok ty for ur input
surrogate key which i got from google is candidate key.
do you mean a type of candidate key or surrogate key = candidate key
but candidate key represents real world entities, but surrogate keys does not so, can we consider them to be the same? (apologies, I'm pretty blurry rn)
Well from Google it said surrogate is candidate. I only learn about candidate key. But no really about the real world things. I think u should ask on stack exchange
Hi
Should i buy the Udemy
Python beginner course?
(I just rely on Youtube but i feel like a course on python will be more stuctured):/
Udemy do be helpful tho ❤️
Anyone who has 10-15hrs a week to dedicate to make a children’s mental health app, let me know. We need a back-end coder
Me
@viral reef How does that work? Like do you race against time or whoever does the better cleaner code?
How does competative programming work
Oh it's solving problems using algorithms and fastest solver wins
U can practice in sites like hackerrank, codewars, leetcode, topcoder and etc
what language are you guys working with?
Does anyone know how to find the index of an object in a list of objects in python?? I've heard that apparently I'd have to use the index function but I'm not sure how
which exactly object? like, does it have a specific key/value?
I'm kinda new to programing so I'm not sure what you mean by key/value, are those the paramaters the object has?!
so if if I understand you correctly, you have a list of objects, and you want to go through the list and return the index of every object? or one specific object in the list?
Yes, a specific object in the list, but i tried using regular method to get the index but it wouldn't work
can you show the code?
if you know that this object is appended to the account_list, you can just return len(account_list) - 1
ah ok, but would that still work if i added other objects to the list?
yeah, but it's not the best solution tbh. If your app is connected to the database, you can create unique id for every user on database, and then return it
does anyone have tips on how they managed to navigate through all this info in front end development
its feels like as soon as i get a grasp of one concept 10 more things pop up that i dont understand. i find out i have to learn html, css, and java but then theres shit like bootstrap and then theres frameworks and then theres sass to make css easier. going on youtube overwhelms me bc you got mf getting internships from doing 3 months of all of the above. freecodecamp is good until i see that i still have 40 million categories and subjects i still have to learn
OR create a variable current_user_id or something like that, and every time you create an object, return current_user_id and increment it for the next user (again, if you have database, it will make it all for you)
ok i'll try that, thanks for help 😄
sure
start with simple projects and go up, you can do a lot without bootstrap and sass
you don't need to stretch yourself for 40 million categories, learn it one by one and you will notice how you are getting better
how good is your javascript now?
non existent
i have yet to now how the concepts connect with each other. like yay arrays, variables, and functions but how tf do those CONNECT to make these elaborate programs
have you made any projects on js in the course?
nope im still on css and visual design category
focus on css for now
master it, make some project on html and css, and then move to js
do course projects, then google "js ideas projects for beginners", and try creating something yourself
at some point you'll get stuck, and then you will learn the most valuable skill for the developer - googling stuff
Okay thanks
https://levelup.gitconnected.com/the-2020-web-developer-roadmap-76503ddfb327 this might help you
hey i dont know why my pc ms store is not opening it is just showing buffering pls help!!!!!!!!!!
yea, udemy is pretty helpful
I'm a backend guy I use django, can I join?
It's okay to feel like that since you just started, but be patient and I'm sure you'll learn it just give yourself time to grasp it.
Tech with Tim covered it from beginner to advance also mosh course is good, but I recommend automate the boring stuff with python book after that OOP by dusty Philips
Tyt comprehending the programming structure
If you want to try and use it, go practice and solve problems in hackerrank or codewars
VsCode
list_name.index(element, start, end)
like say u hv a list named "alphabets"
alphabets = ['a','b','c','d']
to find the index of the letter "c", the code is
alphabets.index('c')
or if u want to the element whose index is 2
alphabets.index(2)
and so on, u can use w3schools for a detailed explanation
alright thanks for the help, hehe
Can't believe I read from here until the end but thanks for all the tips!
hey, anybody knows the working of std::strlen() function?
returns the length of a string
I am stuck with this code, objects generated by this code are oversized and have garbage value.
player player::operator-() { char* x = new char[std::strlen(this->str) + 1]; for (int i = 0; i < std::strlen(this->str); i++) { x[i] = std::tolower(str[i]); } player temp{ x }; delete [] x; return temp; }
guyssss do u know any mp3 players can connect to airpod pro, and also a great price for a beginner
Guys I've a project where I should use basic python like functions and data structure. I should be submitting the source code.
Suggest me some ideas
For example - bank management system , the hang man game.
didn't expect anyone to see that lol
um sorry for asking weird question, but anyone have or know CS:GO's code or API for the human skeleton?
Is anyone here good with Microsoft Word?
I currently have this is my document, where i have all of these in different Textboxes but id rather have them in some sort of columns.
The 'Bill to:' and '$customerFullName' need to be on one half of the document &
the 'invoice no:' and '$invoiceNo' part need to be on the other half of the document.
Check beginner projects on github maybe?
Hey so im getting ready to code on java again after two years, would it be okay for me to use the 16 version of JDK?
Or should i get an earlier one, like 8
I didnt start tho. Ive been in school for like 2 years
it's always best to use latest versions
patch fixes, improvements and features
*latest stable versions
How many hours per day do you study?
Try Soduko solver, use back tracking algorithm and recursion
any daily leetcode grinders? would be great if ur already comfortable with medium problems and maybe some hard ones
I've done a bit
you should share the specific problem
oh, not a specific problem, i was just looking to see if i can find someone to discuss problems on a daily basis XD
oh
I am using Tkinter. If using Entry, age.get() will be a string. How can I enter only integers and not strings for the age variable? Help me
Hi anyone here preparing for data structures?
Can someone tell me if these two books are good sources to study AI?
I'm starting afresh... Taking up a course at uni atm
are you trying to make your own cheat?
guys, hello.. could someone help me with that pls: "A Javascript Error occured in the main process" when I want to launch Minecraft with modes. My little brother want to play with modes, but I have no idea how to deal with that..(
yeah basically
Anyone good @c++ and can help me with a question?
its about building a maclaurin series to calculate sin(x)
i can help you
wt tbs has ur uni recommended?
o'reilly is a great choice
it has a wide range of books
but if u want u can go for the first one
are soundpeats any good i found a spare one stuck between the sofa chair
is this considered tech
i've been wanting to work on a similar project
but the chance of getting banned scares me lol
gimme a min
banned you mean VAC?
sadly yes
as dysfunctional as that AC is, it still exists
lol
ik there are VAC Bypasses on github but :/
some of my friends are blatantly hack in mm and they haven't got ban until now
that's how bad vac is
yea but I've played CS for a really long time. Don't wanna get banned now lol
I might use my other laptop for the project with a brand new account to test it out
but yea as of now I'm working on other projects
if u have a og account yeah dont risk it
also check out r/CSGOhacks they might be able to help you out
ah okay thanks
yea it's a level 35 account with over 150 games and 3k hours on CS
so ://
sheeesh
i opened wildfire awp on my main account i use ezfrags
then i got vacced lmao
never cheat again
my friend got vacced on an account that had 80 usd in skins back in 2018. It's worth over 500 usd now
damn that sucks
Has anyone here been a OnePlus Student Ambassador? Is anyone applying for the same this year?
go for the first tb and 1st & 4th reference books
ight thanks a lot fam!
how good do you need to be at math for programming pls answer me someone
Truthfully, you can be terrible, if anyone tells you others they are lying to you. If you can understand the concepts that go with programming like conditional statements, simple data structures, simple logic, you will be fine.
It isn't about what you do or don't know or can't understand, it is truly all about the amount of work you are willing to put into this craft of software developed that measures your success
dont really need that much math, the little you need to get started you probably already know 🙂
ohh thx i can only make calculator till now and age calculator :)
@void halo thx
Do any of you guys know how I can fix this problem, the settings,calculator and other applications are not displayed on the screen.
@trim fox There isn't really a fix to this, the application crashed
if it persists then that would be a problem
what should i do
restart the application
restart
Hi guys. I know nothing about Data Warehouse and wanted to learn. I currently browsing on Data Warehouse reference books and stumbled upon Kimball and Inmon. I found out that these two are different school of taught but I didn't go into details. Anyway, should I study both? If I study both, will it be more confusing for beginner? Or should I choose just one? If I need to choose, which one should I choose and why? Hope there's some guidance. Thanks in advanced!
what exactly does the term distributed agreement mean?
A quick google search lead me to understand that distributed locking is a locking mechanism that ensures that among several nodes that might be trying to maybe execute the same operation, only one ends up actually doing it or rather it gets executed at different nodes one at a time
However I couldn't find anything regarding distributed agreement and how similar or different it is to distributed locking. Would greatly appreciate any help. It's related to Distributed Systems btw
anytime i ask about internships for front end dev people always say html, css, javascript and js frameworks
like wtf is the point of doing all that for an INTERNSHIP especially an unpaid one
like at that point shouldnt i be heading for jr dev shit
isnt the whole point of internship is that you DONT know everything and so thats why you need it
You can
I apply for both
so do are you required to know all those things i just listed for an internship???
There are different internships
But sometimes employers can ask for more than they actually need
So you can apply for all of those, even if you don’t have enough skills
And figure out later
i just dont want to show up in these interviews looking dumb
bc people will say stuff like "just go for it even if youre unqualified" like its all fun and games till they ask you how to build a minecraft game from scratch in 2secs even though you aint even a game dev
@wheat vector don't apply for internships that don't pay
yeah i know i was just exaggerating the part
If you want to do front end then yea you'll have to do html, css, js and its frameworks, possibly even mern stack
if you're into dev then maybe go via the mern stack and django route
yeah i know. my questions was just why do so many INTERNSHIPS require so much
that's possibly coz of the vastness of the field of computer science
and the ever increasing competition
Or you can apply and demand money
I apply just in case
exactly. like why be that overqualified just to get paid jackshit
some companies do love to take advantage of the "increasing competition" too. like demanding a one man circus for 13 dollars an hour in nyc lmao
just curious, you can choose to not answer but where are ya from?
it's weird that any country apart from India has the concept of unpaid internships
Thought ours was the only country to let companies do that shit
damn that's new
Yeah, they usually say “It will look great on your resume”
Look great on your resume my ass
lmao like unless you a FAANG with the CEOs handing me letter of rec then gtfo
people trying to pay bills and go on vacations.
if i wanted all that bullshit id apply for mcdonalds or walmart
If you FAANG - pipe down and pay
Mcdonalds pays you at least
lmao right
indian internships r not good at all, pretty unprofessional in my opinion
yea well u cant fill up ur resume with bs
some of them are indeed
but definitely not all
companies love to overwork Indians tho.. ez cheap labour
ik and i hate that tag
it is what it is.
but v cant blame ourselves, it just our society is full of despos who want to settle abroad
True. I don't see settling abroad as a huge incentive to getting into tech
I just wish Indians come out of that mindset and follow their dreams. That way you make it easier for others and for yourself.
but it does provide u an edge, like tesla is still not there india and i dont think it'll be here anytime sooon
so true
cuz of this obsession with getting to USA via engineering is not letting me pursue wt i want, the only way is to go abroad which is hella expensive
well that's debatable to be fair. It'll sure be long until Tesla establishes R&D in our country. They are planning to come to India. They're kinda establishing a hub behind the scenes here in Bangalore.
But at the same time, if EVs what interest you, there are a shitload of companies within our country that work in our country on electric vehicles. I'm not talking about big organizations like Tata but rather smaller organizations like Ather and Yulu
yea well elon is rethinking that cuz of the high ct and import
the most affordable model (model 3) costs around 30L inr in the USA and it costs around 66L inr in india cuz of the high taxes which is more than double the price
That's the thing... not sure if you're in high school or whatever... But you're literally trapped in the JEE rut irrespective of whether you want to do it or not. You might be passionate about computers like I was back in high school. But you will be forced into studying for JEE coz that's the only way you're gonna be doing CSE
that's India being India. Our country isn't a welcoming economy either. On top of that they impose heavy duty on imported goods lmao
see v do hv a lot of companies in the ev sector but the problem comes due to the lack of infrastructure that v hv, state govts r working towards uplifting the ev sector but the central govt is just being the central govt
won't make a diff even if the govt legitimately takes efforts to be fair.
It took a billionaire to spread network connectivity to the entire nation
well Make in India was such a disaster, i rly think v shud rly open up the international markets
in terms of the tech industry, v r almost 10yrs behind the first world countries which is one of the main reasons y the brain drain rate is high in our country
10 years is an understatement.
Things will only change if Indians as a whole contribute to the country instead of you know going abroad which further results in brain drain
yea but for that, some "attractive" factor shud be there too
I grew up in Ukraine, can relate to everything you’re saying
The government won't open up international markets. I'm no economist so there's probably a reason as to why international markets are not liberalised
Though it is easier for us, many people go to Poland which is already European Union
the only reason v r so hooked up in going to the US is cuz better education, better economy, better everything and if u could afford to go there then y stay here? thats our mindset
the other side is always greener. "better everything" is not true... not true at all *grabs medical bill*
hmm true. makes sense
im dying xd
i almost forgot bout that part
I think it’s normal to not want to leave your country
But at the same time, if you have no choice…
*laughs in Punjab*
the only reason y i dont wanna move to the usa is cuz NRIs r toxic af
ayyy not all of them aree XD
I need to google
I'll explain. Punjab is a state/province in India... a lot of people from that province move to the west. Most Indian grocery store owners, truck drivers, doctors and even a major chunk of engineers in the US are from Punjab
jus that people who come back to India after being born and brought up there have a sense of superiority when they come here
Only the ones who bring the apple products that v requested for XD
Oh thanks
nah fam we pay 4x for apple products and help our economy rise by contributing to it
Even I pay but the recent ones r just too much
i was kiddin lmao
aint paying 2000 usd for an iphone
Apple Inc., famous Indian tech company
Yea ik but I did the mistake of buying an ipad T.T
Thanks for contributing to american economy tho
same lmao
but it was worth it.
Yupp twas
Apple Pencil and the ipad are the best investments that you can make as a student
True that
Can someone help me here i am trying to lern python and i am trying to add two numbers together and its coming up as wrong
All of your code is commented
can you explain please
The ''' sign starts a comment in python
Specifically docstrings
And you have type it again to specify where the comment ends
Put ''' after line 6
ahh ok thanks
Learnpython is a great website to learn about all these syntax stuff
Can someone pls help me, I need to download a Csv file from github
In proper csv format and not webarchive
Did not understand, sorry
Alright, thanks bud
Hey its me again can someone tell me what im doing wrong (I am trying to learn python)
indentation is important in python
not just optional
look up python's rules of indentation
ok thanks
okay so im learning js and i was wondering how these concepts connect to each other
which
every time im in school, watching a vid, or online courses they always talk about arrays, functions, variables but they never tell us how all this shit connects
like how these translate into projects
its like wanting to build a dog but not knowing where to start or how these tools can be utilized to help you
anyone know any servers for new people in software development
We call static methods by CLASS names or DEFAULT CONSTRUCTOR? In java
Arrays,Functions,variables:-this is very basic in programming they can't tell u how to use it in projects.Its like saying how to use BODMAS/PEMDAS in actual question.
they do teach you how to use pemdas tho
and how it connects to everything else youre learning in math
But if u know pemdas u dont ask how to use in ques cause u know how to use it in ques.
but when u go to higher class u know how to use pemdas
if u dont apply pemdas ur answer will be wrong
im asking how these things even connect with each other. the pemdas thing is too straightforward to be compared for me
u mean how array and function are connected?
How all those basic concepts connect for you to implement them into a project
Yeah its up to the individual but like basic projects like making a calculator can be used to break down certain concepts
Like deconstructing something to see how its built in the first place
see when u are learning addition and subtraction did u ask how it will be helpful in real life or in my study of mathematics?No,but when u grow up u know to use it in real life and how it is helpful now in ur maths subject.It just like that when u study further in computer science/any computer language u will realize how it is useful.
see building calculator is very basic
Yes we did. Did you not remember word problems? when your teacher would say "Sally had 2 apples if I took away one apple how many would she have?" While giving each of us a visual representation of what she was talking about
ok but when u r studying array they tell u that it is collection of elements and it is used when u have multiple elements
?
Bruh im done
I mean the community doesnt do a good job either
People just expect you to get it like "great but I still dont get it"
so do you know how to build a calculator?
nvm yall i found my answer
okay congrats
What are some fun things you can do with a hash table? 😉
I have made an gui editor which is written in Python, it uses just SDL2 for Linux machine and for windows SDL2 and SDL2-DLL. I would like to make the code of the editor better. if anyone would like to review the code and give feedback on it here is the link -> https://github.com/JanPoonthong/sus_editor
idk what the other guy is onto but lol
just try and look up some projects on YT
work on them... Experiment by making changes as you follow on
Note that this project is just for practice. I wouldn't suggest putting it on your github and shit
damn nice.
not really. I jus looked at your project and it was pretty cool
I'll have to look at your code... maybe after classes today if i don't forget XD
Sure @still flame
umm why don't you drop your queries here?
coz i'm not proficient at Matlab but I've worked with it before
same, I've used Matlab for Digital signal processing (very basic though)
Source : Operating System Concepts ( 9th Ed. ) by Abraham Silberschaltz
Source : Quora answer
The TB says NVRAM uses DRAM. However, the Quora answer is pretty contradictory.
It states that DRAM cannot be used.
Can someone shed some light on this
I'm confused by Quora's answer. I feel like having a small battery back up can apply to both SRAM ad DRAM. SRAM stores data in transistors which require constant power flow. So it makes sense to have a battery back up. However, DRAM stores data in capacitors which gradually discharge energy. If there's no energy then the data is lost.....so a backup battery makes sense in this scenario as well?
Hmm that makes sense as well
But that leaves me even more confused
XD
umm wait i'll probably have a look in other texxtbooks as well
lol its all part of the learning process. It just means you'll retain the info by the time you get an answer haha
True XD
@zenith frigate Does DRAM require CPU intervention for the refreshing process?
hey can anyone help me a bit I don't get why in line 9 its printing 100 because in line 6 i have called function func() so it should change the value of x to 200 right?
Value only changes in the scope of fun2(), not outside that scope
Also, at line 13, printing x is not logically correct since x only exists within the scope of fun1() and not outside
You need to read about variable scoping in Python, I think you're confused
can you tell me the flow of execution in still kinda confused
1-12-1-2-3-6-7-8-3-4-5-9-13?
something like dat?
I don't know what book you're consulting but trying to access the value of a variable that hasn't been defined in that scope is logically incorrect
yea but i wanted to know after 5 its line 9 so
so since the value of x is already changed its weird
It doesn't change
Because line 9 is in the scope of fun1
Where the value is still 100
fun2 only changes the value in its own scope
but then in the last line even though its logically incorrect why does it print 200?
Because since the variable is undefined
There is no way to predict what the interpreter will fetch for it 🙂
That's why it's incorrect
bruh my school trolling or what
