hey guys i'm a bit slow. Do you guys know how to do B? Thanks!
yes thank you
quite confused of the final answer of this problem.
If the °F scale is twice the °C scale, what is the reading in Celsius?
is it 160 C or 5/18 C?
here you go, I hope you understand and that it is helpful
Yess i understand thank u 💗
hey
another easy question
f(x) = log2log3log5log7(x-1)
the answer to this is x belongs to (7^5+1, infinity)
can anyone explain the steps please
answer is 15
Thank u 💗
it s by taking log
Idk how to type base on log here
x= log(base5)3
then x+1 = log(base5)3+1
that is 5^(log3/log5)+1
ans: 15
Hi guys !
Anyone knows how to prove that the product of 2 noetherian (also called well founded for some teachers) orders is a noetherian order ?
Hi guys, does anyone here has experience in optimization problems?

Decide if the following binary relation is a function (second one)
Yes, the second on is a function, because sin(x)+1 has only one output y per input x
@left knoll yo
ok need help on a calc 2 question
Set up the integral that uses the method of cylindrical shells to find the volume V of the solid obtained by rotating the region bounded by the given curves about the x-axis.
y = sqrt(x) + 2, y = 2, x = 9
i got this function (4th row) as an answer n cannot figure out what's wrong
i even double checked using the washer method (5th row) n got the same
ik i need to put in the pi values for those two functions, i just excluded them temporarily for readability's sake for myself
it might just be my homework software tripping but I want to know if i set it up right or no
what are the odds of winning 1/50 3 times in a row
1/50 * 1/50 * 1/50 = 1/125000
watch this video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSc4oLA9e8o&ab_channel=KhanAcademy
You'll become familiar with the concept of independent events, or that one event in no way affects what happens in the second event. Keep in mind, too, that the sum of the probabilities of all the possible events should equal 1.
Practice this lesson yourself on KhanAcademy.org right now:
https://www.khanacademy.org/math/probability/independent...
that's a very interesting video thanks
yes
- rq = rs
- rp = rt
- the angle s r p = the angle q r t
then the two triangles are similar
hey guys
how to prove that cos(x^1/2) is not periodic??
Thank you 🙏🏼
my answer did not help lol
i use a math solver tool
and google trasnalete
LOL!
nobody I guess 👀
0 people
oh yeah they are missing I'm sorry I think u need a formula for that
a formula that includes both the cumulative percent and the # of custumers
just use the other known columns
No u should be able to do it off the graph
even if it's MCQ u should calculate smthg, but i guess the formula can be known just from the graph
did i do right?
How to prove the equality of 3, 4, 5?
The first equality is proved quite clearly.
The second is intuitive.
(The equalities may also turn out to be incorrect, but this needs to be proved or explained.)
hi, i need help doing a question, its permutations and combinations. An urn contains twenty chips, numbered 1 through 20. Two are drawn simultaneously. The number of ways that the numbers on the two chips will differ by more than 2 (i.e. |chip1 - chip2| > 2) is -
that's chegg answer
i know the question is similar, and i did 20C2 as well and i got 190, although i cannot figure out how they got 153 as the number of ways in which the number on the 2 chips will differ by 2 to be 153.
and my teacher has given the options as follows, it can be multiple correct as well
now ik for a fact that its not 210 or 20 factorial
but it also cannot be option c considering chegg solved the number of ways in which the numbers on the 2 chips differs by 2.
also how did u get past the paywall on chegg? @left knoll
Try to find the number of way the numbers have differ by less or equal than two it should be way easier
they need to be either k and k+1 or k and k+2
then maybe 1 - P(E) ?
maybe ur teacher made a miscalculation
how do i do thtis
very confused
in particular I don't understand how to set up the integral for the volume
because I'd need to get the base and height of the triangle in terms of one variable right?
idk how to do that in a triangle I don't know the characteristics of
@vast sierra find the tank's volume: (4×4×18)/2= 144(m^3).
Find the mass of the water contained in the tank:
144×1000= 144000 kg.
At the final step use the potential energy formula to calculate W (mgh) :
9.8×144000×2=2822400 j
I hope that's the right answer
coding question
using namespace std;
int main() {
float x= 107/100;
cout << float(x);
return 0;
}
expected output: 1.07
code output: 1
anyone know any problem with it
107/100 = 1 cuz 107,100 are integers
So Integer / Integer = Integer not float
It'd be 1.07 if it's 107.0/100 or (float) 107/100
(this for java idk if it's the same for c++)
it worked thank you
is it right that the range of this function would be (-∞, -1) U (0, 1]?
tia
for the graph wouldn't it be (-1, 0) U (0, 1] since the neg values between 0 and -1 r included?
got confused with the conditions, thanks btw.
oh wait.
It's not limited for x
Any idea?
shouldn't the graph be like this since postive x would yield negative y and vv.
Just replace f(x) with y and try to build a graph
sry, my bad. Haven't done these for more than a year
a. 2/5(a+b)+3a
b. 2/5(a+b)
c. MN is parallel to OB then AM:MO=AN:NB=2:3
it's clear to me now. ty for your time!
always draw a graph bc it's much easier to do it that way especially with complex functions.
NP, good luck with math. It's very fun when you start understanding the topic!
Hey! In logic, what's the difference between the biconditional statement "p if and only if q" and "P only if q"?
Also, does "p if only q" mean p-->q and q-->p?
What's the complete question?... The Algebra seems correct
Ugh idk it’s in German and I don’t know the terms in English
Could you Send that in A Pic... Maybe will try translating
Dw I will ask my teacher
i dont need to find the probability, although the rest i understand. thank you !
i dont think she made a calculation, she has probably added the third option of the question to confuse everyone.
thanks
hello
can anyone help me with second degree polynomial functions and second degree equations roots etc
i'm french student but i can try to learn in english😓
In French people go to university while they r - 18?
nah i don't think so that's in asian countries I guess
try watching "Black pen red pen "
he explains everything step by step and gives so much details in a smooth yet comprehensible way
A math meme that is actually funny rather then stupid:
Solve carefully!
230-220x0,5 =
You probably won’t believe it but the answer is 5!
i don't get it can you explain
*0.5
would anyone be able to help me with this?
Yo guys I would kindly ask you guys to help me out
Question :
Two variables, x and y, varies at which y varies inversely as x^p. Given that the constant of proportionality is 36 and y =9 when x =2. Find the value of p
…
Ahaha no im 16 why ?
Because this is for university ?
can anyone help with this question
a. Complete the perfect square and give the vertex form of the function f(x) = (x^2) -2x -5
b. Describe the transformations given in Section 2-2 of the textbook that you would apply to the basic function g(x) = x^2 to obtain the function f(x) in part (a) and sketch it. Do not plot points.
Is anyone good at applied mathematics?
I can't understand the solution
Can anyone help me with it ?
It'll be appreciated:)
Here we have to solve for x
It's a foundation called "physics wallah" and it's a jee category channel called "JEE wallah".
Are you from India?
No problem!
can someone help me pls
Sorry I can barely read it
i think it's { lim x-> infinity or zero (x square ( 1+2+3 ....... E(1/x))
i barely remember lim so i can't help
how do you get 4x at the bottom?
i don't really get it...
It's a trigonometric identity, if you simplify the parenthesis you will get the terms 4xcos^2x + 4xsin^2x, then you can express it as 4x (cos^2x+sin^2x)
In trigo identities: cos^2x+sin^2x = 1
hence, 4x (1)
Guys please, I have a test
are there no other details in the problem?
Unfortunately, no
yeah we will need at least one of the sides in order to solve it
I think
wait
nvm
let me rethink it
yeah we would need at least one side of the triangle
this is calc 3:
i cant figure out whats wrong with my work. is this not how u find the area?
Thank you, didn't know that the identity you mentioned existed
no problem
do you know the magic hexagon so that you dont need to memorize the identities?
there are also others like tan ^2 + 1 = sec^2
hey uh im sorry for asking this because its pretty basic but my math teacher just doesnt do shit in a way that i can understand so i thought id ask
basically he jumped us into like equations that have to do with like powers
and i dont get that shit
for example we got like
8^3*x
the whole "3*x" is the power
so iwas wondering like
how should i approach this
again sorry for asking
It depends, what are you trying to do with it? Differentiate, integrate or something else entirely?
In either case you’d most likely end up having to use logarithm (typically the natural log)
Oh I forgot to mention it’s 8^3*x = 4 and I gotta solve for x
yep you should apply a logarithm property to both sides
log with base 8
log sub 8 (8^3x) = log sub 8 (4)
3x = 2/3
x = 2/9
Can u guys help me find the derivative of numbers 7,8 and 10. I also need solutions so I can study it😭😭 tysm
thank you🫶
Did anyone here study infinite series or know how to solve them. Our teacher told us that we sould multiply Sn in this exercise by** (1-a)** to the power of smthg I tried Sn.(1-a) but didn't get anything can somebody help. thanks !
isn't it divergent or convergent question?
I just have to find the value of the serie but I think I figured it out thank you : )
I have problem with the Gaussian elimination, I don't understand when it has a single solution or when it has an infinity of solution depending of other factor like x = 2y z = 3y
This precalculus video tutorial provides a basic introduction into the gaussian elimination - a process that involves elementary row operations with 3x3 matrices which allows you to solve a system of linear equations with 3 variables. You need to convert the system of equations into an augmented matrix and use matrix row operations to write it ...
hey everyone I have a little question. Is there a certain order to set the eigenvalues in the diagonal D of a matrix in its diagonal form. Because the order of the eigenvalues changes the diagonal matrix. thus I don't end up with the same result as the ones in my book❗
How do I find DC and CB?
Since u have all the angles and one side, you can use sine rule to find the other sides
SinA/a=SinB/b=SinC/c
did you try something like this?
Yeah okay, thanks
I thought about it for like 30 minutes
And it's something that simple😭😭
can anyne help mex,d? idk how to solve, pls
@calm marten
I(2,n)= I(1+1,(n-1)+1) = I(2,n-1)+I(1,n) = I(2,n-1) + 1
(recurrence)=> I(2,n) = I( 2 , n-(n-1) ) + (n-1) = I(2,1) + n-1 = 1 + n-1 = n
( im really not sure but maybe )
@calm marten this function I(m,n) means an intersection of the m row on the left side and the n row on the right side. it doesnt matter which side m row and n row on. what matters is they should be on the different side. sorry for my bad english
@calm marten this is pascal triangle
what do I do when I model regression and I have 2 different functions that have the same R^2 value?
Where do I even start??
Try to express the distance sqrt(3)+1 in terms of the angles (and therefore in terms of K)
Hint: maybe cos could be useful?
1+2Cosec=-sec2x/2/2
This may be a weird question, but i genuinely need some input, i've been working on this for way too long and nothing is making sense.
For an investigation in school, i chose optimization of packaging material. there are loads of investigations that are out there, that optimize packaging material of simple 3D shapes like cuboids, cylinders and cones. However, i wanted to go a step further and graph containers to obtain a piecewise function, use the surface area formula to calculate the surface area of solids of revolution.
Because this is optimization, i won't find a "value" for the surface area, rather a function, where i find the optimal value of x that will minimize the surface area and maximize the volume (which is fixed). therefore, equate the first derivative to the surface area function to 0, calculate the optimal value of x, and then, to determine whether its a minima or maxima, use the second derivative
my question is- does this make sense? because ive done some calculations and literally nothing is working
Can someone give me 2 Circle and 2 Parabola problem sets?
me 2
Can anyone help me this
There are 200 workers in company A and 75% of them are working in Uk. How many of the Uk workers should be let go to decrease the propotion of the UK workers to 60%
Yehh i got it
The answer is actually 3
Anyone doing AMC 12
There are 200*0.75=150 workers in the company A
now you just do 150-(150x0.40) or just 150x0.60 which is equal to 90
how to integrate using the substitution? nvm I did it
guys, can u help with this crap? I just don't have any ideas
Yep
Use lhopital’s rule
excuse me, but how can I use this rule here?
Notice that when x approaches 1, the fraction becomes 0/0, thats the condition required for lhopital
D = 360 - 100 = 260
x + 5x + 2x +260 =360 (The sum of the angles of any quadrilateral = 360)
then x = 12.5
so 2x = 2 * 12.5 = 25
Thank you!🥂
Can you help me here? I suck at problem solvings ://
Probably prove

hey guys, somebody know about analytical and spatial geometry, i need help please
hihi, i can shed some light, so initially you wanna plug in h for 0 to see what happens. you'll get 0/0, which is an indeterminate case. you can use l'hopitals rule which allows you to take the derivative of the numerator and denominator with respect to h, and then evaluate it at h=0. you should get -1/x^2
Yeah or u could just combine the fractions uptop and see if you can simplify it any further
Then plug in h
Hi! can anyone help me translate this sentence mathematically: "Marketing restrictions require the number of chairs produced be at least twice the number of desks produced."
Let x1 = desks; x2 = chairs
Apparently the answer is
2x1 - x2 <= 0
My question is why is it not
x1 - 2x2 <= 0 ???
THE second answer is the right one i think
x1=desks and x2=chairs, x2 produced should be at least twice of x1 so: 2X2<=X1 so 2X2-X1<=0 is the right answer
@urban egret i wish you understand
the answer would be pi/4, right?
which Cengage book this from?
Thanks for your help! but i think I now realize why the 2 must be with the desks. basically the number of chairs x2 >= 2x1 so this becomes 2x1 - x2 <= 0. If we consider it is an equality for better understanding, x2 must be equal 2 times (twice) the desks (x1)
you're welcome! if you have any questions just ask me.
sorry for inconvience, motherducker me evaluated the value of arg w and thought of it to be of z
wait
Nah!!! I just told you to wait in till I understand the question
no worries, you could check my solution

Hey guys can u help me?
you should use sin as CB is opposite from angle A, and sin is opposite/hypotenuse
hi~ could somebody help me with this question and how to do it?

Hey everyone, I have a question about vector matrix X=(x,y,z) I have to find a variable that is related to at least another variable by resolving a system for example if x=y then, X=(x,x,z). But I had A bit of a problem in a exercise. I found x=-y & x=(5/10)y & x=(-2/5)y
does this mean y=0 and x=0 ? pls I need an answer so I can finish this exercise 🆘
If you send the problem here, you may get a better help (well, not from me. Not yet...)
Split the denominator
Yes
hihi everyone, could help me to solve this question? i confused with the left hand side🥲
If I have a test of 16 questions and I have 39 minutes, how much time do I have per question?
39/16 mins = 2 mins 26 secs
can someone help me with basic math? i feel so dumb :)
i work out of a book with a lot of mistakes but i dont know if i am in the wrong or the book
Can I get help with 14 b and c
Does anyone know how to handle limits with 2 parameters?
can someone explain to me why the distance is 2.2
It's not 2.2 it's 22. You get that by adding the distance between player A and player B to the distance between player B and player C.
can someone help me with this basic math :) i feel so dumb
i get it that root32 = 4 root2
but than the answer says this, i dont understand how they get that answer
2/3 root 3
√32= 4 √2 turns in to 2/3 √3
I want to learn logarithms
Bruh sorry i misread your question. No way in hell is\sqrt{32}=4\sqrt2=2/3.\sqrt3, either the answer you have is wrong or the question is asking for smth else
thats why i dont get it, i have a lot more
thank you so much 😆
can someone help me with some basic trig i completely forgot how to do it its been a while
lol
im new to matrices i wonder if anyone can briefly talk about what is a 3d vector and if so where i can find any matrix notes or tutorials for beginners? sincerely thanks🐸
What to do after this!?
You can keep this two triangles in mind
It will help you alot
I am not good at English.
I hope you can understand what I want to tell you. 🥺
Thx ✨✨
hello, when you solve polynomials by comparing coefficients is the remainder 1 degree less than the DIVISOR or QUOTIENT?
Didn't understand Plzz elaborate again
if you divide the max degree the remainder can be is 1 degree less than the divisor
"Calculate the work done by the gas in the cycle below."
someone can help me? i'm confused about this question, by the way, sorry if this is the wrong chat
how to do this?
Guys can we change the position of this?is it gonna affect anything? Thanks in advance
Thanks man 🙏

Does anyone know how to solve this?
Hii would like to ask if anyone knows how to solve this? Much appreciated 😣🙏🏽
i’ll pm u in a bit
if anyone knows shell method
much appreciated
nevermind I got it, I did a silly mistake with my integral bounds 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️ 🤦♂️
do you think that's fundamentally contradicted?

I find e^3x-3 not the same result. Can someone help please?
just subtract (6x-4)-(3x+1)
first you take dydx of both sides
I found it thank you very much
Hey eveyone .Can someone pls help me prove this 🆘
do you understand how i got here
its using something called the chain rule
wait oop i didnt read..
sorry
I get after simpification lim 1/[√nx(-1)^n] but how can I find the limit of (-1)^n ?
1/2x as x goes to infinitely small would be 1/a super large number which in the limiting case is just 0. e^2x when x goes to negative infinity would be 1/e^super large power which is also 0, so the entire thing simplifies to 2/4 which is 1/2. Zeytek is also correct 👍 👍
Omg thank y'all so much!
np!

Find area of the figure
So what would you put in the blank after 2x such that -3 is a solution
@mild pier
So if you plug in -3 it will become 0
And since it is a quadratic it has 2 solutio s
So 4x would have to be another solution so 4x = 0
Which means x = 0 is a solution
I will leave it up to you to find the other solution
Feel free to message if you are stuck

hello! I'm a bit stuck here for C,, what would the workings look like??
Hi guys, I need help with this task
find a common denominator
406-x must be divisible by 1056
i.e., x will be negative in this case
you can also think about how modular arithmetic relates to the division algorithm
1056 goes into 406 0 times
so whats the "remainder""
Can someone show me the solution of this question, please? I’d really appreciate it!
😄
hope this helps!
Thank you!
Thank you sooo muchhh
not sure what to make the upper and lower limits to find C, I know it's gotta be bigger than -1<x<1 but idk what
can someone help ?
@hexed sluice i gabbled something but im sure its wrong
Hmm thx
Ahhh
do you have the solution
answer shows 1
😭
my english is not very good so i can't explain myself very well sorry
Hi, can you give some tips to learn math? PLEASEEEEEEEEE
is anyone good with trig sohcahtoa stuff
in general practice will make your math skills better
if you are not familiar with the content, then you should seek some online resources to learn the necessary material and then you can improve yourself even further by doing practice problems
yes
well it has been a long time so i might be kind of rusty but i am happy to try to help
can u help me find the hyp
if you know the angle
then
you can simply do sin(35.91) = 1.15/x
and then you can find the hypotenuse
which is x
yes thats also a possible application here
but since the topic is supposedly trig? you can use trigonometry to find as well
😄
are you sure the angle is right
its 39
let me check that one
ok yes the angle is 39 degrees
can you tell me what you put
in as your answer
ok hold on that would not be right
do you know sine
?
ok
so
because the angle is 39
right
and the sine of 39 degrees would be opposite side over hypotenuse
so do you know how sine is defined
?
ok
so from your sohcahtoa
definition
sine would be opposite / hypotenuse
soh
like the equation would be
1.15/x=sin(39)
because 1.15 is the opposite side
x is hyp
and sin(39) is by definition 1.15/x
well
cos
would be
sohcahtoa
so adjacent over hypotenuse
so cos(39) would have to be equal to the adjacent side
which is 1.42
/ x
1.42/x=cos(39)
Hey so what do I do for question E? The right answer's supposed to be 1564.5 but I could only get 179 using the same method as the previous questions D:
- what do they mean about including the arithmetic progression?
the question says, how many rectangles are there that don't include the painted area?
do you consider a square as a rectangle ?
yes
How do they get the 11
the power is the number of times its compounded
so in ex 3.3 (b) its compounded semi annually for 5 years and 6 months so that will be 10 times in 5 years and once in 6months so thats 10+1 = 11
1\7 tell me if it correct or not
adadwf
secˆ2 x = 1 + tanˆ2 x
secˆ2 x - tanˆ2 x = 1
(sec x +tan x)(sec x -tan x) =1
sec x -tan x =1/7
including the 10th term
sum of 30 terms - sum of 9 terms (9 terms bc we gotta include the 10th term)
30/2 [2(8)+(30-1)3.5] - 9/2 [2(8)+(9-1)3.5]
hope this helps :))
hi, im having a hard time understanding this u-substitution for my calc II class. where did the x in (-1/2x)dx go after substituting?
It’s in the initial expression
yeah ik, but why isn't it in the substituted expression?
why not -1/2∫(x*sqrtu) du
The first x in the numerator cancels with the x in the denominator
You even highlighted it
ohh so it's like ∫(-1/2x)(x* sqrtu) du, then both x cancel and it becomes -1/2 ∫(sqrtu) du
i didnt realize that, thx
Yep that’s it
the probability distrubution for this q is putting me off
would A still be 1/6?
and b = 0.2?
AH I wrote 13 instead of 30 😭 totally misread the question, thank you so much!
no problem :))
Any tips on finding formulas? I've been stuck in h) and i)
Can someone tell me what to do or how to to Q10
Any advice would be helpful thanks.
Maybe this help you

For the following exercises, find functions f (x) and g(x) so the given function can be expressed as h(x) = f (g(x)).
h(x) = 4/(x + 2)2
h(x) = 4 + x(1/3)
h(x) = (1/(2x - 3))(1/3)

Its really asking you to break the h(x) function into 2 parts, for example. Imagine h(x)=4x²+4x+1. You could think about breaking it into g(x) = 2x and f(x) = (x+1)², since when you plug 2x into f(x) you'll get 4x²+4x+1. Now you have to think the same kind of stuff but for the function provided by the question
break the h(x) to f(x) = 2^x and g(x)=x-x^2,
ok so you can solve the fog easily
f of g
How can i factor everything in the parentheses more to remove the square of x
Oh
which 2 numbers multiply to 6
but add to -5
I will give you a short trick you can solve any quadratic equation with help of it.
For ax²+bx+c
Use this formula to find it's factors.
[{-b+(b²-4ac)½}/2a] , [{-b-(b²-4ac)½}/2a]
I can't figure out how num 11 is supposed to go! Just the solution for 11. a) would be wonderful 😭
I actually don't know much about modular arithmetic but I suppose this is asking for the multiplicative inverses mod 7, that is, for some number a, a^-1 is the number that a * a^-1 = 1 (mod 7). So taking (a) for example I believe it should be 4, since 2 * 4 = 8, which mod 7 is 1. Then you can do the same for the others(note that it may not exist)

can someone help with this problem
What is the equation of the line for the given point and slope:
m=2 Given point (1,0)
write v(t), it will contains a(t) in it, substitute the a(t) given by the questions and solve for v
does it work? i didnt try but hopefully it did so we dont have to do calculus
I’m struggling w finding the v(t) equation with a(t) in it
Would v(t) be 0.65t^2 + 2.7t?
v(t)=a(t).t+v_0
a(t)=1.3t+2.7
v(t)=1.3t^2+2.7t+v_0
got it thanks! it’s 24m/s
I'll try it out! Thank you so much!

part 2 is bugging me
one solution is cos2x=1 for 0<=x<=pi
and cos2x=1 is giving 3 solutions which are 0,pi, and 2pi
but they didn't include pi in the mark scheme
Can someone help me with this, first term is 217 and ratio is 2/3

How to do 2a)? The answer is 11.39%
This is 81. I had send the solution of 82 , Your doubt was in 82
This is one more solution. I discovered it just now.
One silly mistake is their
It will be 3t²+t-4
21/7 so 3 is your final answer
any precalc chads have any idea what im supposed to do here? Im totally confused
@tiny scarab
I'll assume this is a right angled triangle. This means you can apply Pythagorus Theorem to find x. Don't forget to sub it back into the x+1 and x-1 formula
its supposed to give numerical values
nvm I did it
my teacher explained it today
Solve the quadratic put it into the assumed expression you'll get the answer.
I thought that you'll solve ahead by yourself that's why I didn't put the whole solution.
I am not sure how much context I need to give, but theta is the function of a laser that is positioned 500cm away from a wall, pointing at the wall and moving. The first picture illustrates this and followed with the assignment. I have calculated the function for how the laser moves with time(t) t=(seconds) and derivated it to find the angle in degrees it moves also. Now the solution for the second picture the lim, is zero, but my question is how would you interpret it. given the laser moves for an infinite long time the speed at which the laser moves is zero... now I want to say something silly like the laser would stop working after a while, but what do you think?
Suppose a box contains 7 purple balls, 9 red balls, and 13 green balls. If three balls are selected at random from the box without replacement, calculate the probability that all three selected balls are of different colors.
need some help
wait have u learnt permutations and stuff?
I got one answer as -1/4 and one answer as -3/4
but -1/4 is being ignored by Mark scheme
idk why they discarded that solution since fg(x) would have a domain of <0 so what am I missing?
nvm
Can anyone help me with setting up a sigma notation problem with 6 left endpoint rectangles for this problem?
Could someone lead me in the right direction on this? I must be having a brain fart because isn't this not a constant rate of change or am i doing the math wrong somewhere?
Okay actually I got it right but I'm still confused because if I do the change in f(x) / change in x shouldn't they all be the same after simplifying?
Nope I definitely just mental boomed and wrote down the wrong change in f(x) i'm dumb lmao
Thanks Tai

anyone can help me with c?
Is anyone good with differential transformations such as lorenz transformation?
Please still post the problem you have, I’ll see if I can do anything
Its late but you just need to find 5/the range of f to find the answer of c
How does a get 7427? There is the solution but I don’t understand
F = P(1 +i)^n
.06/12 = .005 = i
8888 = P(1.005)^36
P = 8888/((1.005)^36)
P = 7427.21
The yearly interest rate must be divided by the period within the year it compounds. Always assume an interest rate is for the year unless it says "X% per month." This problem doesn't say that. "6% compounding monthly" is short for "6% per year compounding monthly." Hope that is clear. The math follows easily after that realization.
please someone help sorry for rotation.
like i feel like i solved it but can’t be sure and it’s killing me
Can you show your work?
h'(x) = 1/3 * d/dx [x*f(x)*g(x)]
Do you know how the product rule works for three differentiable functions?
d/dx[x*f(x)*g(x)] = x'f(x)g(x) + xf'(x)g(x) + xf(x)g'(x) = f(x)g(x) + xf'(x)g(x) + xf(x)g'(x)
So h'(x) = 1/3[f(x)g(x) + xf'(x)g(x) + xf(x)g'(x)]

Can anyone explain why the 1000 needs to be square rooted in the answer to a to find variance?
can someone check my answers?
looks good
If someone is willing to give me the rundown on how to solve one of these problems step by step w/o a calculator that would be nice!
Var = SD^2
can anyone explain ?
does anyone know what kind of graph this would be
yes
so the computer is wrong, no?
yep
yes
hello! I've been stuck on this math question for a while and have no idea how to solve it:
Here's my attempt:
nvm I just got it :')
this is the answer and the question was: tan^2(theta) - 2tan(theta) - 10 = 0 but i don't understand how they're finding the solutions in the quadrants
can someone explain this please?
whats a parabola called that looks like this
I believe this is a negative sine graph
(2 - √44)/2 gives you a negative number and tan is negative in the 2nd and 4th quadrants. (2 + √44)/2 gives you a positive number and tan is positive in the 1st and 3rd quadrants
It could also be a polynomial to the third power
So I’m doing optimization and I’m used to setting up an extra formula with a known variable (like if I know perimeter and need to find area) to get everything in a formula in the same variable so I can take the derivative. But idk what to do for this problem, is there some kind of trig fact or formula I should know?
Try factoring n^2 - 5n + 6 as (n-2)(n-3), then you know that (n-a)! / (n-b)! has to be equal to (n-2)(n-3)
so then you need to find a way to rewrite (n-a)! in such a way, so that you can simplify the fraction to get rid of the factorials
(n-a)! = (n-a)(n-a-1)(n-a-2)!
a = 2, b = 4
hello
can someone help me with this question?
y derivated and replaced x with 0
but it is saying that the answer is incorrect :(
you must do it by part and then do the study of the sign
(x-1)² <0 and x+2<0
after finding the roots of the equation, you will plot the graph and check, based on the intersections, in which parts the result is negative
anyone understands maths in french please?
What am I supposed to do to get the aroc with only one point?
What do you mean?
I think he means average rate of change or the gradient or the slope of the equation at [-5, 1]
Yeah I thought it was a point and didn’t realize it was an interval lol
Its 21 months i think
does anyone know graph theory? like dijkstra's algorithm demos?
anybody here you is doing high level maths, what is your technique for not forgetting the basic things? (this question might sound stupid)
u always use the basic things that why u never fogetting
wdym demo ?
not always per say
I mean high level math is for me some basics things somed up to create a complex one
not always but most time
and yeah sometimes u need to come back to the basics to fully understand a thing
anyone know how to do this? pls dm 🙏🙏🙏
can anybody help me with my math problem? im literally crying rn
check ur dm
You can use Geogebra it helps graphing stuff.
i didn’t get anything
or dm me u ll see
I’m having trouble on finding the vertex of this equation when there’s decimals… could some someone show me the step by step process? 🙏
What is the -2,875 ?
ho nvm its just y coordinate
here you go
2 methods
and after u just have to replace x=3/4 in your function to find y coordinate
and so u have both
I got it now, thanks for the help!
Hey guys
How to find the Inverse of this one?
(x+1)/(x+2)
It's kinda special one
QUICK QUESTION IN LINEAR ALGEBRA is the column space or span equal to a matrix?
its ((x+1)/(x+2))^-1 --> (x+2)/(x+1) isnt it ??
or u mean function inverse like f(x) = y --> f^-1(y)=x ?
if u are talking about inverse function I find that
I tried to be clear tell me if u dont understand
Ho wait yeah I calculated x+1/x+2
But can u tell me if this one is true?
Yeah sorry it's x+2/x+1
But i'll try the inverse :]
Btw thank u so much
and I even make a mistake if u try this one u end up with +2y
yeah Its correct I find
x = (-2+y)/(1-y)
its the same
Can someone help me solve this equation that is in the complex numbers system? I can't reach the result given by wolfram alpha in any way.
I would try each one of them after the z(z+3)=10i part
I dont think this is what you are looking for though
Hello everyone
Can someone explain to me why this limit gives me 1?
I used symbolab

I got stuck on this, can anyone help me?
Are you trying to find a number?
Hi!
How are you?)
I'm looking for help in math, so if you can help please dm me, thanks !!
in which field ?
It's algebra
help s’il vous plait
Take sin² and cos² as any algebra (say a , b ) ; solve by using a³+b³ property then
Range is maximum - minimum
So, 40-a= 14 , a= 26
ok, thanks that has put me on the right lines @regal hedge
Median will be average of 2 middle terms i.e a,b
(a+b)/2 = 40 , a was 26
So now , b=54 @noble trail
Wait a min, i thought that you’d just do (52+40+b) / 4 = 30 and then solve for b which equals 28
that would be the average, not the median

swear that has cost me so many marks lmao
Heloooo anyone got an idea how to prove the first question a)
It seems that a) cant be proven idk... so maybe a disprove
Does it give any info for a and b?
If it does not i will go with false because you can't prove that B=(AnB)
Something like this i guess
Anyone has any idea on how to do this? Ive been stuck for quite a while haha
Nope,,
Ayoo thank you very much so the second is made wrong by me ?
So We always try to take an element from the left set and try to show that it is also existing in the right
Then this wouldn’t be a real prove I guess
well thats one way of doing I suppose
It is way easier to prove that the statement is false (counterexample ❤️ ), but in this case both of them are true
i think this could also work
but yes, most of the time when you try to solve X = Y, you have to solve X ⊆ Y and that Y ⊆ X
and you can do it this way, by assuming that there is an element that belongs to X, then finding out when it is true and proving that it also has to be an element of Y, so X ⊆ Y and then the other way around
at least thats how I usually do it
But for harder problems, I make a venn diagram of both sides at first and see if the statement is true, if it is not I try to find a counterexample
(assuming u is in degrees)
You can just find u then use calculator to figure out tan(u/2)
sec(u) = 15.241, so u= cos^-1(1/15.241)
Therefore tan(u/2) = tan[(cos^-1(1/15.241))/2]
= 0.9364
Thank you verrryyyy much you helped me a lot. Is a Venn diagram accepted as a prove if it’s true ?
No probs i also had my moment when i forgot how many cards at there in the pack
Hmm, not sure about that one, but I don't think it is that sufficient of a proof.. If I speak from my experience tho, we are always asked to provide a more thorough proof than just drawing Venn diagrams. But as I said, I mostly only use them to make things faster and so that I do not try to prove something is true if it is actually false, since finding a counterexample is often faster than writing the entire proof
Ahh now I got it, so you don’t have to spend time on trying to prove smth❕❕
thank u so much
u saved me
could anyone help me with this?
does anyone know what this symbol is? i'm doin' analysis homework and this is the first time seein it.
it seems like an infinitesimal function, but it's not accurate
maybe f(x) = x + o(x)
Uh i am stuck how do h solve this 🙃
i think that's it, tysm.
guys is my teacher wrong lol
it says mixed radical but they simplified it as an entire
is wrong...
lol, I didn't get it either. I tried to simplify it, but it only got harder
isn 't it possible to write in the ’arctan(2) or arccos(-3)’?
if tan(63,43494882)=2, then tanx-2=0
hi everyone, I really need help with calculus 1, the function continuity proof and lipschitz condition, I am really stuck, If you have anything that could help, please send it to me. 😓
I have a textbook with proofs, but it's in Russian
does anybody know how I can proof this?
Differentiate twice using lhospital rule
or you can do it intuitively the rate at which denominator is increasing is more than numerator
only 1 solution arctan(2)
cos can only have values from -1 to 1
so it cant take the vvalue -3
so equals 0 is correct right? because it gets closer and closer to 0
thank you for your attention, I didn't take this moment into account
would ths count as engineering help?
Hi, can somebody help me with this problem? Been stuck with this for hours. Tried Trapezoidal, Simpson's method and series expansion.

anyone knows abt vectors in space??
It's in spanish but basically they give u 2 vectors modules and the module of u-v and ask what's the angle that the vectors u and v make
Cos theorem
whyd you do -1/2?
Bc its part of the theorem
a^2 + b^2 - 1/2 * cosx * a * b
then square root it
Thats your theorem
oh thank u
No probs mate
yo might be a dumb question but can someone explain surjective, bijjective relations
Every bijective is also injective
But bijective is plus surjective which injective does not
yo thanks
Yes
You want to ask me a question?
I see
I am also half German tho
Well it is kinda help chat so
You can dm me if you wanna talk
yoyo i got one more thing in my shcool book itsays that the relation less than equal on the set R of real no that is Reflexice, Antisymmetric and transitive. I wanted to ask, what the hell does that mean
Can take a picture and dm me?
That would be better
k
bro its cool i understood reflexive
its just the language give in my school book that is annoyin me
tru tru i basically learnt all of relations cus of yt
I mean probs i know what is this but
i sent a pic in dms
Thats lots of terms man
ik that is why my brain frying
Well that pic just fried my one too
gret ill just ask my maths prof. thanks for trying
Let me try a sec
dude if one of u can tell me the reason for the answer of this question i will die
Q. The relation > is
Ans. Transitive
Reason?
Do you still want an explanation
if a>b and b>c, then a>c
now to write the proof, I suggest at first thinking of some concrete examples that you know are true so that you can understand it well before you try and prove the general case
For example, 5>3, 3>2, so 5>2
epsillon delta proof
oh wait just epsilon since it goes to infinity
let me solve it for you
i can explain it to you if you still want too, got the same material two weeks ago and my prof explained it very good
no im good thanks
@cloud night do you think the angle is important to find the value of the expression?

Hello, I tried almost everything but I’ve got no clue now:/
Maybe smone can help me
take an element of M, call it m, and its image f(m)
Now, use the fact that M\subset N to relate these facts to N and f(N), respectively
this proof follows closely from the definitions

ohhh nvm got it
I have no idea
Hello. Do you guys know how to solve this sum in order to find a general formula? If not, can you help me solve this limit instead?
If I was dividing by something like (x-1) it would make sense but I'm a little confused on how to divide it with (2x^2+5).
on ex. 3 , its ok?

ur airpods seem dead
Huh?
mathematics
Im still don’t know what to do ngl 😭
Got it now 💀
great
You multiply the numerator and the denominator by e^y
Q is written incorrect
helloo o/ i have a quadratic function and all the info i'm given is that it has a point that intersects with the x-Axis at (-2,0) with the tangent line y=9x+18, and another point at (8,-10) with the tangent line y=-11x+78. How am i supposed to use this to find the derivative of the function?
nvm i got some help with it now
Evening. Could someone from economy, nutrition, or mathematics please help me with a economy question about marginal cost function?
