bhai neet was hard so dont sweat it. Agar jee deya tha to wo ek option hai clat par focus mat karo. saying this as a jee ka banda
Is there a way to quiet my mind down? I keep trying to focus on studying but either music or some movie snippets keep replaying in my head and I can't get rid of it
there's no productivity at all if this goes on
not sure if this is the right channel to ask, but does anybody know how to get the forestgang role?
Hi, do James have a video doing 30m study 5m break?
Oh
I'll give it to you hold on
does someone have any good exam taking advice and tips?
I always bring a timer/stop watch, highlighter to my exams. First minute I skim through the exam and check out what i'm dealing with and tackle the heavy hitters first then go to the middle ones then easy. If I'm taking too much time initially on the heavy hitters I'll move on to another question to brain break then come back
Highlighting always helps me with figuring out those tricky wordings and seeing what I have for the problem/question like in mass transfer questions ETC
nice to meet you guys, im new here! Can you recommend me any soft like promodo or todoist?
"Meditation" is the key my bro it works for me. I struggled with adhd.
Try breathing exercises, body scanning, and learn to watch ur thoughts without judgements
Try "medito" it's totally free on playstore
How long does the process usually takes? Because I know that meditation takes time to really master and differs between people
Before Starting Any Task: I Use the 4-5-6 Breathing Rule
Start by meditating. I use a simple breathing technique:
Inhale for 4 seconds
Hold your breath for 5 seconds
Exhale slowly for 6 seconds
This helps calm my mind and prepare me to focus deeply.
Depends on how motivated u r.. for me it took me months before i finally master it ( cause im too lazy and often distracted) : )
Thank you!
Heh… can this be accomplished in a week
You won’t master meditation in a week but you can absolutely build a reliable habit that improves focus and lowers stress.
light yagami himself is giving advice
Can that also be done in a week
Ah I just gotta live with this until it’s fixed then
hey guys, does anybody know about app or website where you track ur daily habits? if i am not mistaken, Jms recommended one web but i don't remember:/
nvrmind i found
haven't returned to medito ever since I damaged my hearing, now I have a loud ass tinnitus that just makes taking care of ADHD worse lmao
my brain doesn't even rest just sleeping alone now, I gotta mask the tinnitus with sound or I wake up tired 💀
I'm so cooked
you don't trully master it, you just take it even more serious over time, you geniuenly can feel your brain changing over time, not just in thought patterns, I also got some sensations inside my brain, if you can feel new neural connections in your brain I probably experienced that.
apparently you can get so good you start to need distractions to get better, I wouldn't say I reached that, but at some point I think its fair to say I could have tried that because I was getting really really good
Is this what people call the ultimate moment of enlightenment
Or the myth of reforming prefrontal cortex
I meaaannn... You'll feel enlightment, I did, like you feel your brain changes so much, you feel open to new ideas, philosophies and like you just interpret things in another way, but true enlightment is something that honestly I only heard one guy claim to have reached it.
you think you are reaching your maximum then you realise people go way further than you do and you just feel so humble because there is people who just live for meditation almost with the intention of just meditating itself, not even for the benefits of it.
it's so hard too, you can adjust the difficulty yourself, it can be really fun also though, actually.
damn, I wanna go back now lol
I used to feel so calm and much more in control, made me feel pretty mature and pretty stoic.
Enlightenment could be subjective, I don’t think there’s a definitive margin to determine that
On the other hand, that does sound like it comes with experience, no? Like consistently pursuing that turning junction
Imm neither of that
meditation is about learning, about being humble, and about persistance. You find peace within yourself for the power you don't have to control events outside your reach, you start it and the first week you'll feel like you probably aren't really good at it but you can give it a try ofr the benefits, but in the long run you just learn and you adapt to it, I couldn't stand a 3 minute session but I would do 10 mins daily 1 month in.
you don't do it because you are good at it, exactly the point of mediation is it being hard and not meant for you, because that is where most benefit happens, also you won't stop seeing results and they don't slow down much either, I kept getting better mental clarity and focus 6 months in, but everything crumbled for me 1 year in, there are still benefits at the 1 year mark for sure, though.
you're vile for using the first user on your profile lololol
what I used to do is that my meditation wouldn't be of value and legit if I was thinking about my boredom or worrying when it would end because the point is following just the breathing alone with full focus. if it gets boring you aren't trying hard enough and you aren't correcting your mistakes.
So the point is to discipline oneself and find mental clarity?
ye funny asian obama thing I did like 3 years back or so I think and I haven't changed it yet lol
listen for real, it's kind of hard for me to actually meditate 'cause I'd end up just forget about it and go on about my day. you can just try and maintain focus on your breathing like what @tribal grail pointed out, otherwise use methods that alerts your brain that "okay time to get deep into ts". I flick my fingers for example or smack a bit hard on my shoulder
the point is focusing so much in your breathing you only think about the expansion and movement of your chest
if you think it was boring or you get tired you gotta get into a higher stage of self awareness, you are meant to spot every single thought and idea. no thinking "I got distracted again" no thinking "I lost track" no thinking "I'm not able to keep the focus consistently" no thinking "how much is there left" or "I got stuff to do" the brain has to be fully empty, no other thing than aknowledging and returning with 0 reaction to toughts or feelings
it's a mental exercise of redirecting attention, literally that, it IS tiring and it can be hard and some days you won't be as good at it because of fatige, that's fine, it's part of the process
Conditioned reflexes are kind of difficult for me to follow, I guess I could try to practice the final method you said but yk
I’m doubtful whether it’ll work
Do I have to establish a set time for this or can this be done whenever im free
it does, you just have to find the way that best fits you, to me focusing on the nose are doesn't work, I tried feeling the breathing in my back, skin, lungs and more of in an abstract way feeling as one with my own breath, as in feeling the breath as if it was active and as a full action in of itself. some other people work with mantras or meditation of other bodily reactions and sensations like touch, sounds and smell, which I also tried and can be pretty different on benefits and way of meditating.
try it in a calm place, just do as much time as you want, you can set a timer, or, if you really want to give it a proper try, you can do it with no timer, frrestyle, full focus on your breathing jsut trying to improve and see if you like it or at least find it interesting or entertaining.
try medito, guided meditation is best to get introduced, no need to finish 3 mins in one go, just try doing it for 3 days in a row, if you like it enough by 1st week you probably are going to be trying 5 mins or a bit more.
I would do daily medito meditation and just follow the instructions, at some point they can be distractign though, because they just talk too much sometimes. For you it can help you find your style and show you how to do it properly.
Okay, thanks for the tips! I’ll look everything up
Guys is the grammer ok in this sentence?
" Silence too is a Language, just not everyone understands it "
hey, does anyone uses google keyword planner?
Are we exploring the inner depths of Silence? 😄
Idk ,I just needed a quote for my video.

i was thinking about drawing, i found crochet too
thanks
Depending on your study, internships add to your experience which makes it easier for you to get hired: for example, having a homelab (messing with computers/networks at home (usually)) is something that could make your computer science CV even more appealing :)
ill definitely look into that! thank you
Hope it helps <3
Thaths cool stuff👀
If u wanna share some work feel free
If you like I can share a pic or two of my homelab, tho it’s not the cleanest thing out there as I’ve not moved out yet 😅
What does this mean I have yet to go sleep here
Plesure
I tried building a nas 2 yr ago , did end up well unfortunally
That’s unfortunate… tho haven’t had a PC build go wrong on me before, dunno how that works cause I take HDD’s without turning off mains power and both me and the PCs stay fine 🤷♂️
Dunno what your footing with tech is, but if/when I get some free time, I wouldn’t mind helping :)
No I mean bulding wasnt the problem , the networking I had no idea how to
Unfortunnally I scrapped the idea , but I think in future ill try again building a server for my familly
Feel free to ping me if you get around to it, my networking knowledge & skills should be better by then too ;)
For sure , im building software now so when I get to server side ia be try again
, ill send u friend if no prob?
Sure! ;)
Exhibits A + B,
A) 4th gen i7 found next to recycling bins in my building, grabbed it, slapped my SSD and two HDDs I found, added some RAM (now 32gb), runs a magic lil thing called Proxmox, tho I don’t run it all the time
B) raspberry pi 4b (8gb ram), a 1tb transcend external HDD that somehow isn’t dead yet, and 3 USB drives I got from Europe day nonsense, free disk space! :P
This lil nugget runs Alpine Linux, tho you might wanna run something else if you’re just dipping your feet into the Linux world
(Excuse the wiring spaghetti, sorry desk setup minimalists)
the best cable management I saw in ageis 😂
An for what do u use them for
3hrs straight to study lol, is that difficult to comprehend ?
Ah u meant that , I can be such boomer sometimes
That's alrightyyy
how to get out of tutorial hell for coding
stop watching them
i did freecode camp html , css and javascript, and thats it right to building projects i need
like recently i wanna try and do a trello clone , minimalist without colaboration and all the to overkill features what do u think?
Honestly, I’m really starting to love this whole dropshipping business thing. My second store just started making sales and it’s kind of surreal. I only launched my first shop some month ago, and I’m already doing around $4K a day. Never thought it would move this fast.
It’s funny how some people still think everything online is a scam — but if you actually put in the work, there’s real money to be made here. My next goal is $5K/day, and I’m pushing for it.
If you’ve been thinking about starting your own dropshipping business or need help growing one, feel free to hit me up or send a friend request. I’m down to share what’s been working for me.
I’m so fcking tired + I couldn’t focus today to finish a simulation exam on time so the mood is bad but I keep pushing let’s fcking go
lol goggins incoming
same feeling when i got the neccesesary skills and knowledge base in trading
yus
Guys I needed help. I want to design a server that has two endpoints exposed, get and Set.
In the set we send value and expiry time. In get we send key and get value.
I have a constraint I am using 2gb of memory only.
So I want to have get and Set operation in O(1) time complexity so that user can be served very quick.
Can anyone please tell me your idea for this in an data structures & algorithmic approach and make assumptions where needed.
Mostly tell me which data structures to use, how to make things more efficient?
i have no idea for the hardware, for the softawere i know that is best to be as cheap as possible , with the byte to store stuff, like not be afraid to stay as simple as possible , my persoanl exp, is not from profesional soure
.
Hi I need help ! (sorry it's not about school)
I want to buy a chess board but I can't decide which one I like better. So I'll be glad to know which one you prefer
note that the second one has a logo on h1
Darker looks cleaner for me
The 2. is nice but i dont like the logo there, without the logo it would be better, I probably would like it a little bit more than Darker
I second that
torn between 1 and 2 but yeah the logo really just ruins it
Curious on what the pieces look like also
Depends, raspi is for music, I use it as a 24/7 system I can use to eg archive stuff, wake up the big boi pc, some docker stuff, not much tbh
Big boi pc runs a media server (movies, series, YouTube stuff, etc) and is a mirror of my music library as well, dns server, I2P node (and Tor node once I figure out VPN stuff to not annoy my ISP), pdf editor, windows 10 vm in case I need something to test stuff on, syncthing to sync files across devices (tho planning to move it to the raspi), jdownloader to download whatever I want without captchas/other annoyances, ai server (tho I mostly use my laptop for that, so doesn’t see much use), and some WIP stuff I’ve not deployed yet, iirc
Best of luck bud 💪
honestly considering its a house of stauton i dont mind the logo
anyone wanna play chess?
to me this stuff is the cooles shhi ever, it crow tony stark vibes
Im shit unfortunally

Might be cool, but I wish I’d spent my time doing something else other than spending too much time behind a computer - aside from the monetary capabilities that I unlock for myself by being quite good at this, I would consider other things more valuable than spending this much time behind computers… it is what it is I suppose, world runs on money after all
That’s part of the reason why I want to help people with computers (well, with anything, but this is more about computers) - so they don’t have to waste so much time and risking addictions and whatnot, I have the knowledge that I do, so if I can, I try to :)
U ar right but u know if u had not spent that time then with pc , u woud hav now
For experience I dropd school to think only how to make money (trading) and only now afret 4years I starsed learnig agai tech becausd when u think about money u are really learning valuable . u are just making money , now I ahav lods hof fun naking money and learning tech so I would never done a diffegent way. so I think u right but I lost the only friend I hade to thinn about money while they where lerning tech now tehy buid stuff togheter while I whave to study all of that sa u know is an exchange I guess
It’s a bittersweet taste for me, the time I’ve spent with computers I mean, that’s all
i guess u can call it the cozy times without worreis
18 hours
, can someone study that much for long time?
You can download it as a browser extension in chrome
And then log into your account
I took a break/"partly quit" reading literature/story books for while now, roughly 5-6 months. The only things I kept reading were either textbooks or announcements from school about exams, etc. (okay maybe thats a bit of a hyperbole but anyways lol)
Any tips on how to restart/re-continue reading them storybooks/novels/etc. ?
Shorter, fast paced novels are a good way to get back into reading. Also, audiobooks
Ayo, anyone taken a break from school before? Or a gap year?
What was that like? What helped you get through that?
I'm starting a break of my own and trying to figure out how to make the most of it, but also lie, not feeling crappy about it ☠️
i think if u investet that year in the right stuff , is most the worth ,u will have lots of time to study all ur life, for not feeling crap , do not compere to others or feeling like u are being left behidng
thank you mrp
I'm really excited and happy for the break :3
I think it's been a long time coming
have a nice rest bud
i see
sounds complex
i'd rather be on phone
but thanks bud
i took a full gap year
studied most of the year, things that interested me, to find out what i wanted to do
made a decision, wasnt the right one, so switched again
so my tip: do whatever you want
life to short to not enjoy
learned A LOT in just a year
and not only in terms of school, also a lot from myself
Well it's not really complex... Just search forest extension download
It will be downloaded and then you can log into your account in the extensions of your browser
Yea you're welcome
anyone knows any actually working tips for getting better at maths other than just practicing?
i can feel myself getting better bit by bit overtime by practice but i don't reall have TOO much time considering the huge syllabus, nor do i wanna sacrifice the time of other subject for maths so i really would appreciate some good and effective ways to get anyhow better.
(even if something increases the efficiency by only 1%, i'm up for it too)
stay physically fit and dont neglect your health/body
sounds silly but for some reason I understand things quicker when my body is in peak condition
try do also do things that make you genuinely happy, hanging out with friends, going out, etc.
This indeed, getting proper rest, being physically active (also makes you feel good), pretty much taking care of yourself, and having a good time, but also balancing having a good time with studying (if you only go out partying maths won’t sneak up your memory, ykwim), eating healthy (and also perhaps good to avoid chocolate which temporarily boosts energy and then crashes when you’re studying, a banana gives more and doesn’t crash for eg)
Having routines and healthy habits help a lot as well, waking up/sleeping at the same time (more or less, but the more consistent the better) lets you rest better, be more ready for the next day, like the loading mechanism in a pinball machine - less friction
And if you’re really going for it, perhaps read up on books like digital minimalism (Cal Newport), and try to de clutter your life, easier to remember and learn when you have less going on, an empty desk vs a cluttered one (where the desk is your mind)
Hope this helps :)
<@&942391219206647828>
Banned. Thanks
thanks for the chocolate tip , i was driking lots of dark choc with coffe, to bost some energy but at the end of my session ma brain goes to caraibhi and nevere comes back until i sleep
glad it's of help ^^
So now banans like crazy
banana go brrrrr
Hey guys anyone of you going to take the YÖS Exam Registration 2025?
Hello
Hi , I really need some advice.
This past year has been really tough for me, and I’m feeling overwhelmed (I missed a whole semester due to personal issues in my family). I’m currently in my second year of my BSc in Architecture and Engineering, in is the last block of the year.
I’ve failed almost half of my exams this year and have quite a few resits. To give you a clearer picture: our academic year is divided into four periods (A, B, C, D), each with 5–6 classes. While I’ve passed several, I’ve also failed quite a few.
On top of that, I still have 3 resits from my first year (2 exams and 1 project) that I had to retake during periods 2C and 2D. I also failed 2 exams in 2C that I now have to retake in 2D. Meanwhile, I have 6 new subjects in this current 2D period, and I’m seriously considering dropping them and doing damage control after the summer break to see how many of the resits I can pass and how much I’ll have to carry over into my third year.
Here’s my dilemma:
If I try to push through now, there’s no guarantee I’ll pass everything. If I do manage to move on to third year, I’ll still have at least 4 resits — or up to 9 depending spread over my 3rd year ofcourse but its based on how well I perform at the resits after the summer vaction (The idea is just to basially continu school in my free time to ''catch up'' what i just dropped) . The alternative the school gave me is to fully redo my second year and continue under the new curriculum.
I honestly don’t know what to do. On one hand, the thought of pushing through with no guarantee of success is terrifying, and I’m scared I’ll just keep falling behind. On the other hand, redoing the entire second year makes me feel like a total failure — like I’m falling even further behind in life.
I understand why they gave me that option tho, to try giving me more space and be able to have a normal schoolyear unlike what i had been through te past year. But yeah i feel really lost. Mostly because I’m turning 22 soon and the idea of redoing a year and finishing this study in 5 years instead of 4 makes me feel really behind. It already took me 7 years to finish high school instead of 5, which is the norm in my country, and this just adds to that feeling of always being late, always behind. I feel so lost, left behind, and honestly kind of stupid.
If anyone has been in a similar situation or has advice, please let me know. I’m super stressed and don’t know what to do anymore.
Oh yeah, I know that feeling
Personal stuff aside, at this point you need to evaluate yourself
I think you need to set aside your feelings on "being late" and "being behind", and look at retaking the year in an equal attitude to continuing onwards
See them as equivalent options, not that one is more negative than the other
There's not much use in comparing yourself to others and moreover, 22 isn't that old to be spending time in school
You've not wasted as much time as I have, that's for sure 🙃
Evaluate yourself, and consider:
Do you have it in you to take on all of the extra pressure of doing retakes for your previous examinations on top of your third year? How much of your remaining free/social time that you don't spend at school/doing schoolwork are you willing to sacrifice for that? What systems and relationships with other people do you have in place in order to keep yourself accountable with that kind of extra workload?
Or, is it more appropriate for your mental health and stress level to retake the second year? Would it bring you results that you'd be happier seeing on your transcript and GPA? Would retaking courses make you feel more confident in your ability, and therefore more confident when you hit third year next year?
Some of my biggest mistakes were from pushing on and trying to chase everybody else instead of being where I needed to be
brilliant piece of advice. I second that
Some more words for mental comfort:
As long as you're trying your hardest and you're honest about what you're capable of, you have absolutely nothing to feel bad about.
As long as you are doing SOMETHING. Anything, that helps you, then you are doing the right thing. Taking a break, postponing things.
You are better than the version of you who ISN'T doing anything at all to move forward.
You are better than the version of you that doesn't decide to do A THING about the situation.
The fact that you're thinking about this. Be proud of it and hold on to the motion. The only thing you need to worry about is growing. Grow at your own pace 🤙🏾
It's hard to learn but very important to keep in mind.
I'm redoing my year of uni rn with months left because I couldn't mentally take it. And I am so much happier. I feel crappy about it but "it is what it is" yk. It would be different if I just gave up without trying my all, but I did. I have tried my all, and I've learnt that taking a break would be easier on me and would mean I can actually succeed and learn things rather than just rushing through it.
Don't ever feel guilty for doing what's right for you. Just try your best, work hard, but be honest with yourself and don't break yourself as you climb up. If you break you can't really keep growing can you?
💗🤙🏾🤙🏾🤙🏾
Not in Ish's shoes, as in not in uni yet, but i sure feel that way with final exams approaching rapidly and my grades doing a fly-by so low to minimum grades that they're scraping the bar, amazing advice from both, i'll defo be taking it to heart for if i pass to go to university, not intended for me but ty for writing what you have peeps <3
haha, I write all that with a final exam two days away that I don't feel prepared for, and don't feel confident that my predicted score on it would be enough to pass the course which has a higher-than-usual passing requirement
Honestly best of luck, imma be wishing the best for you <3
I should be taking my own advice, but I feel strangely optimistic about unrealistically studying hard enough in two days to change my own fortune
are you sure you want to rely on optimism over being what feels more sufficiently prepared? saying out of worry, want you to do well 🫂
i get the feeling, it's worth considering studying a bit earlier than later imho is all
I've pulled weirder magic tricks before, we can only see how it goes
If I had absolutely no hope, then definitely I wouldn't bother
boy is that a feeling i relate to lmao, you know yourself and your limits better than i do ofc, thought it was worthwhile sharing my concern is all :)
as much as being prepared is important, I've come to realize that I never feel prepared 🙃 I'll spend hours and hours "preparing" because I don't feel good, when in truth I was ready all along
Feelings be damned, at some point you kind of just have to go through with it, you can't wait forever... the results will tell you whether you were ready or not, but there's always another day afterwards
at this point, my hesitation has caused me more trouble than my unpreparedness 😂
fair enough, i won't play a trump card, more mature than i actually am, fair points
i better not end up in court cause i too will be plead guilty of that haha
regardless of what you do, i'll be wishing the best for you, best of luck 🩷
Hey! Any tips for decluttering?
I'm trying to get to the mindset where I feel free enough to let go of a lot of stuff in my life and have a bit of a fresh start, as well as committing to being more minimalistic moving forward.
Any advice or tips? Things that helped anyone else do something similar?
Moving back home after uni and I want to donate a bunch. Give stuff to family and friends etc
It feels very difficult but necessary
Does anyone know about some web based or application based good pomodoro timers? It must include a editable timer (I normally use 50+10). It should have a task list. And show statistics like how many hours did I do today and all.
Looking for free softwares only.
Tried forest, but thing is , it was lagging in my phone.
Have used pomofocus, but looking for something better in terms of interface.
Web based for my laptop, or application based for my phone. I do prefer web based tbh.
Please dm me.
Flocus/studytogether perhaps?
I heard that flocus lets u use all features when you buy subscription. Like tasks, stats etc.
Studytogether? Got a link?
Idk about flocus tbh, never touched the timer there, imma find u a link for study together
i need help of some one to make me focused on my work and side hustles, so can any on join with me to create some productive time
Hey everyone! Can anyone help me how can I copy and paste into my VM from my host machine. It would greatly help me improve the time it takes to config it. Thanks in advance 🙂
depends
if u have windows in your vm
use rdp protocol or whatever microsoft calls it these days
if you are running linux in a vm on a win machine, use ssl or vnp or if u use vmware there is a seperate tool kit avalable
if u run linux on linux, install spice-vdagent on both host and vm and restart the host os
for added clarification the vm toolkit depends on the hypervisor u use
tbf tho ssh is a better "copy paste" than any of the methods i gave
thanks man
guys can i ask for some help, im trying to learn js , but i dont know why when i have ideas initialy i try to find only ref or docs to how to make stuff, but soon enough i start using AIs to solve all the issues and bugs that comes , and fix in to fix , i reach a point i can no even read or understand what is happening in the script, i tried doing smaller projecsts, but even if i try by my self i do very little features and then wheni try to build new fueatures on top of old ones i get lost and agian on AIs ,
i see more often that when i start a projects css it just feel natural to me and when i have a desing in mind i have 0 issues createing in the exact way i imaging , then i trye to add interactive and yea u already guess.
do u have some advice or something to help break trouhg this cycle my biggest issue is making more complex apps , making 1 or 2 features is good but is just to intimidating to do those scripts of 500+ lines of code.
thanks in advance
stop using ai
instead of practicing your algorithm design and your troubleshooting, you cheated through everything
if you don't know how to use ai to help you learn, then don't use it at all
program design is a skill you develop
i have no tips, only to tell you to stop using ai and start a project with the serious intention to do all the work in it
how can you learn when you get something to do all the practice for you? isn't that ridiculous...
*(stop using ai for ready made code imho)
i would recommend that to somebody who knows the difference between using ai to help vs using ai to do, i would not recommend that to somebody who has already demonstrated using ai to generate code without self control, time and time again
it's like trusting somebody to delete all of the social media off their phone - you make that recommendation if they're new to the whole concept, but if somebody continually fails to cut the distractions out of their phone, you recommend them to put the phone away
no, it's a fair point to make
i endorse using ai to help in learning, but not as a replacement to learning
it's just that in cases like these, evidence points towards the complete absense of that technology being the better path to take
Is it just me or you cant logout?
Okay no got it
yesterday after some sleep , got the answer that the project was to big for my skill level , so when the project is to big is way easiert ask more chunks of code to AIs , if the project is around my skill level i get no iessue so i guess i went to many steps ahead, some harsh words but i guess were needed thanks
yeah take things slow
you got this 🤙🏾
AI also takes away the learning experience from you, think of it that way.
You gain skills and deeper understanding by doing.
Yes I know that nothing is better then the feeling of have built something by ur self
thanks for the words
wait i dont get it ai for code?
i thought AI was the modern version of tutorial hell
U hit me hard with that
I tend to like to get course outlines from AI and then that's it. I limit my use of it
I treat it the same way I would a teacher if that makes sense. I wouldn't ask my teacher to code something for me but like "hey what did I do wrong here", or "hey I want to learn xyz, what should I read up on? what are the prerequisites?"
It's a good tool if you are intentional with it. Don't make it do stuff for you if you're in a stage of life where you're supposed to be learning.
Utilising it and being limited by it are different
That's my take at least, as a person that learns a lot of random things as well as Computer Science
i rememeber a huge argument broke out in the linux rcs terminals cauz a university got blacklisted by linus torvolds for using AI to write shitty code. honestly since that i feel AI is only good for HR managers and non stem ppl who wanna code to update their social media following
The fundamentals are important. There's value in understanding that stuff deeply
Yeah, the only time I see software engineers really using AI is for boilerplate code (when already understanding everything), or speeding up debugging, as well as code reviews.
I've worked at Microsoft as an intern 🤙🏾
Also learning
the problem is that by self learning finding good material is key
like the course outline type thing
yup yup!
U mean creating a roadmap?
yup yup!
Just giving you a rough direction in a topic you don't know much about. And then you take it from there and look for your own resources
the best material is good documentation. I was told this by a greybeard using emacs working for qualcome
The problem is most people don't use it like that
Real. And yes
I think being able to read through documentation is a skill in of itself
it can be fun ngl, the python documentation is filled with monty python refrences
yeee
man I remember the first time I got comfortable reading though docs
I was learning SDL2 on my own and it felt like wizardry just going through the docs and experimenting. Tutorials? A thing of the past at that point!
Gave me the confidence I needed to try to learn a lot more
Anyway I've rambled, I just love everything about learning ☠️
Reading docs I ll give it a try
Love docs for lua are fun
man i remember reading the docs for the first time and learning cs through that in order to impress a girl back in 7th 💀
she got creeped out and never talked to me again
😭😭😭😭
Nooooooooooooo
if it helps I'm impressed man
thanks man that makes the trauma less
🤝🤝🤝
Ur always learning silly ;)
trueee lol yeah
does anyone have experience in game marketing
I'm trying to improve myself about this subject.
anyone wana help me sleep
hello, does anyone here knows how to proof read a thesis manuscript?
u mean like organicaly ?
i got a cat any tips for taking care of her ?
AI acts strangely and has become bad at giving me theory and notes, as well as constantly spoiling my problem solving and practice. I can't avoid this, so instead of writing "Explain arrays to me," I decided to find the language documentation and study it. Did I by any chance cross over to another circle of hell? Haha, I'm just starting out and I'm worried that the documentation will defeat me.

- Get her vaccinated + take her to the vet often
- You might wanna get her neutered/spayed
- If you have plants, make sure to check they're not poisonous to cats.
- You'll need a litter box and maybe some toys. Scratch boards are effective bcs kittens like scratching. And even after they grow up tbh
Also cats can be pretty moody so try to be gentle and careful when you're grooming her
And in general too tbh
how often should i wash her ? + thx bro
Once around every 4-6 weeks because they do tend to clean themselves too. If she goes out and comes home dirty though, you definitely do need to clean her though
also I'd suggest keeping trimming claws and bathing on separate days. It can be a disaster if your cat doesn't like both
Also, I don't have a cat so I won't be able to give you super specific information but all this is based on what I know in general + heard from friends
damn
+ i think my cat is quite behaved cuz i washed her on her first day and she just kept shaking (it broke my heart tho
)
how is this an And gate ?
Oh yeah make sure you keep her warm after baths and dry her well, preferably with a hair dryer
My dog used to shake IN BETWEEN bathing.. and it's safe to say I'd end up getting drenched too
Pets hate baths
tiktok lied to me i guess they all have cats that likes to bath
The usual consensus is cats hate it. Tiktok definitely lied to you
well as long as it won't jump on face suddenly or smth
Hopefully not..
Oh wait you mean my dog?
He wouldn't haha. He'd try to run away 😭
So I'd have to leash him
that's actually adorable
na we do that all the time when learning a library or dataset
u good mate
for cs atleast the docs are quite fun to read
a lot of easter eggs in there
yes, we actually opened our own steam page, we are currently trying to collect a wish list.
already doing dev vlogs on tik tok and yt?
Any other youutbers like jvscholz
I hahe another that is practically the same ill send it to y later
Hello everyone, I would like to know if anyone has heard of the IBS Americas scholarships. It's urgent because I need to make a decision. 💀
hi
You might like Reysu, personally I’ve found the vids interesting and helpful
yes, we are working on content on instagram, if you want to review it, I can give you the name of my account.
kekwait
Sr I do nat have insta , if I can see it without accont go ahead , ila try to give some feedback with the little knoledge I have
Is called jkwon
hey, anyone have some tips to memorise large amounts of information in around 2 weeks? this includes having a critical understanding of the info as i need to be able to discuss it
am i cooked
also its information i haven't previously learnt aswell so i have to factor in learning
💀.
You are so cooked
dont say that theres got 2 be something
its around 36 double pages of a textbook
That is manageable tbf
I don't really have any tips tho I just lock in
I can memorise quickly when I write things down along with learning and study in sessions of around 1 hour
lmaoooo ill try
got 2 other exams to study for on the side but i have a good background in those so hopefullt i dont have to sweat it
That's all I do and it works for me
Nothing special maybe someone else will give you some useful tips
thanks anyway appreciate it
Dang good luck
I have 2 engg exams in about 3 weeks as well
And tbh I didn't study shit this sem
I have 8 exams but these 2 will cook me
english is roughhhhh
Oh my bad 😭 not English I meant engineering
even worse ahahahaha
I locked tf last sem in English scored like 62/75
Definitely
damn thats good
One is Engineering mathematics and other one is Structural Analysis
Idk what I'll do
damn you trying to be an architect or what ???
😭. I understand
Civil engineering 💔
Idk how I ended up with it
Ts is tough asf
I did too I scored the highest in physics
I still kind of want to switch to physics after undergrad but the opportunities suck there compared to engineering
yeah tbf i guess engineering is the more practical application
its the same in psych im gonna have to get my clindoc after bsc because everything else sticks u as like
Yeah there aren't many jobs with pure physics degree
a therapist or a teacher which sucks
Ooh I see
What's your ideal job
In psych
honestly psychiatrist but thats impossible without a med degree, so ill go for clinical psychologist
My sis almost became psychiatrist but my parents opposed it so she ended up being pediatrician instead
With med degree ofc
That's still nice
Well they just thought she will become insane herself after dealing with so many patients 😭
In the end even my sis thought it was too much to handle she was in psychiatry ward for around 6 months
tbf😭 im just hoping you become desensitised after a few years
yeah it can be really tough
Yeah for sure but pediatrics does as well so many babies haha
Yeah I imagine that can happen lol
i think any med profession has a mental impact after a while which sucks but thats prob why it pays so high lmaoooo
if youre working in a hospital that is
Lmao fr I could never deal with things I saw my sis dealing with
cause the shifts are usually crazy and the abuse from patients is insane
damn how do they cope
jesusssss
yeah actual doctors have it so rough it sounds like hell
Yeah that's why most of them end up smoking and drinking even though they know the harmful effects the most
its honestly such a shame the system should take better care of doctors fr
i think clinpsych shifts are usually uniform 9-5 but u do have to be on call out of hours sometimes
Yepp they need more of em
so not as bad but
I see that's somewhat better
yeahhh i think working in a hospital my whole life would be a bit much so im hoping for like 10-20 years and then going into research or something
if i have enough money that is
lol
Well the pay is pretty decent in most cases
am i missing something int this mysql course?
i am searching something for db design but i have found any
to be honest, i don't really know what you mean by db design - there's no fixed rules for the design of your database, like algorithm/program design it's whatever you come up with that works best for your use case
only "advice" i can think of is that many-to-many relationship is not terribly useful and should be avoided unless you know for a fact it's necessary 😓
but i think you might want to start by looking into data modelling
i would say that is the prerequisite theory to learn before entering into database creation
data modelling teach you the fundamentals of database components (all that tables, rows, fields, primary and foreign keys) and how to structure and organize your data, the type of data it is (ordinal, nominal, etc), which are the tools you need in order to figure out how your database needs to be designed
learn table relationships (one to one, one to many) and then crows foot notation, then learn to make an ERD - if you're from programming background, that's basically a "psuedocode" database, it's a relationship chart, i make mine with a flow chart tool - and then, you're probably ready to start with actually creating and managing databases and at this point, diving into MySQL might begin to show its relevance
learning to program before learning program design is putting the cart before the horse in my opinion, and i think it's the same with learning SQL before database fundamentals too
True true, tho it can still be handy, one pulling the other (if talking on smaller scale projects with more time, though I do agree with what you’re saying realistically speaking)
Hello, my name is Rylan Dabre. I’m 18 years old and have recently completed my diploma in Computer Science. I'm planning to start my journey into freelancing and would greatly appreciate any advice or guidance from experienced professionals. Specifically, I'm looking to understand what in-demand skills I should focus on, which platforms are best for beginners, and any important factors to consider when starting out—such as building a portfolio, setting rates, or finding clients. Any tips, recommended resources, or personal experiences you could share would be extremely helpful as I take this first step into the freelancing world
dude this is a study server i dont think u will find "professionals"
moreover "freelancing" with a high school diploma is a polite way of saying minimum wage indentured servent
there are plenty of horror stories on the internet and i would advise against it
try doing internships or atleast a bachlor degree in something if you wanna luck out
if u really wanna freelance, set your rate per hour rather than per job
wing it from there

hi i have a question!
i was wondering how some people are able to study for 4 hours straight with no breaks. i really want to do it but i get tired about an hour in and become really restless and have to take a break. i also struggle with staying true to my breaks and not doing something else during my work time too. it just feels like my brain cant retain any more inforation after a certain time too. how can i improve this?
im going to be going to college to be a physiotherapist so i imagine im going to need to build a tolerance for that sorta thing. any help would be appreciated
make no mistake, one hour straight is perfectly normal or even better than what a majority of people can manage
for me, being able to go for more than one or two hours without a break has to be because it's something i find interesting
that is, it's not work to actually do or study it, it's enjoyable because i take personal interest in whatever i'm doing - then i'll happily do it for a long time
i vaguely remember cal newport mentioning in his book deep work that even people who regularly do deep work and therefore have strong discipline and habit skills find their limit by or before four hours
let alone people who don't regularly do that, it must be really tough
for not being able to retain information after a while... that's why you need the break
when you feel your concentration slipping, hold out until your break
during your break, don't use your phone or computer
and when you feel like your brain isn't absorbing information anymore... just stop, that's how you know you've done enough for the day
Golden advice once again, thanks for the insight, I’ll be needing it to make the most out of my week till exams start <3
haha yeah, thank you for reminding me of this. just makes me feel bad when i see all these people doing it and i cant do it.
thats why im thinking, how do people go about 12 hour study sessions? (with breaks of course but still)
thats what ive found. ive never been able to cram and i would talk to my friends about it and they said they could probably cram for example, 100 pages of whatever we're doing in class in one day. just have to force themselves. they lack the discipline but otherwise they can get it done. me on the other hand, it gets to a point that its useless to try and force myself to keep working because im just not retaining information anymore. i deleted youtube and reddit (i kept instagram and snap for texting but if my friends wanted to switch to imessages, i would delete those too) off my phone and in general have it on dnd to try and grow my tolerance to boredom and help me focus.
sorry for a bit of the ramble im just kind of at a loss on what to do
i know im not an "academic weapon", im not that good at studying i just try really hard, the only reason ive had A's all throughout high school. i try to explain stuff to myself in a more simple way but im just not that smart or built for this but i have to do it
thats why im scared im making the wrong choice by majoring in physiotherapy. i like it, its interesting to me, but im afraid im not smart enough to do it
its one thing to love something and another to be capable to do it
there are 2 different things which u are confusing together
u can divide "studies" into 3 or 4 partw
cramming and memorisation takes multiple sessions of short time durations
so like 25/5
in total 100 study with 20 break
solving questions or proofs however go with a flow
you can do large sittings with ease if u are "locked in" a linear flow and lose sense of time
but its not a good thing
idk why people idolize large sitting hours, you should not be thinking about hours ideally
even for a project with a deadline take double the time you expect and do it
I have a Lamy Safari, wanna change the nib. I have M is a little to much ink for some of my notebooks, now the question for me is: May I buy a F or a EF?
i find lamy nibs to be fat
EF lamy is more like a M from pilot
EF is a bit more scratchy than F
Hello,
So in my school, I learnt Java (not advanced...some basics and looping, arrays, strings only)and in my college, first year, I learnt Python (numpy and pandas included)
So I kinda want to learn C now. But like have a good knowledge of it. From basics to advanced even. Although my career doesnt demand learning C, but yeah take that as a challenge or just my curiosity to master a language atleast.
So, can you guys suggest me some good free resources? Can be yt series (please dont suggest CS50😭) or maybe free websites having such courses?
The best I prefer are some really good books.
Umm please dm me with the replies ❤️
Thank you
are u indian dude?
java in indian high school is an utter waste of time my friend
for c i would suggest the original book by denis richie
and the c odyssey
honestly it hard to not say cs50
Yeah
I didnt like cs50 tbh
well the thing is most ppl learn c from books
i have an al-star in F, it's pretty good and behaves on most of my paper, but if you have especially cheap paper you might want the EF
two things to note are, as already mentioned, lamy nibs are fatter than advertised
(that and japanese nibs are especially thin, so you have a double effect here - i have a kakuno in F which is basically an european EF and comparing the two you'll stop believing that the letter means anything)
and also, lamy nibs have historically rather poor QC, and as a result you'll hear many complaints from different people about the same nibs being really scratchy, wetter or dryer, or inconsistent in size, so be prepared to either RMA cycle or get your nib tuned
or honestly you can buy a bunch of cheap offbrand ones from aliexpress and the QC would probably be about the same lol
my F is scratchy, not bad enough that i won't use it but noticeable enough that i prefer to use other pens
the concept of deep work, as described by cal newport, is exactly that you enter into that state of "flow" that you mentioned and are capable of doing a bunch of work for a very long period of time
it's certainly not a bad thing to be able to sit down and do something for a long time, it's just that
1: most people do not have the discipline to do it for something they don't like, and as a result lose interest rapidly
this means that something like pomodoro works significantly better for things that you don't necessarily like as much and therefore are tedious and like a chore to you
2: you shouldn't do it often because people need to move and eat, our bodies aren't designed to sit still for that long
once every few days is much better than every day
but objectively speaking, it is a good thing if i can make a ton of progress on something for three hours straight without being interrupted than it is if i were being snapped out of my state of flow by an alarm every 50 minutes and then go on a break that i honestly don't need
like all learning techniques, it's a tool and there's nothing standing against you using both pomodoro and deep work techniques
you just need to judge when which technique is more appropriate for what task you're doing, based on how interested you can convince yourself to be in your task
anyone got any way to around this?
so basically i don't use my phone much thankfully but i need my laptop to watch lectures and stuff but most of the time i open up yt or smth, i end up watching other useless slop and random stuff rather than actually watching what i opened it for, tried almost everything, yet i can't figure out any way that could help my situation. It has nearly become hopeless so idk what to do atp
Did u use any extensions n
yes, i've used many already but it's just so easy to turn off, i could use cold turkey like i do for other stuff but it completely blocks the websites which i do not want, i still need to be able to access the search thingy so i can find and watch my lectures
Use unhook for yt tho
And idk for the other websites
But ig there is an extension for every site as facebook , instagram
And finally u have to decide and know it's for ur best not to unblock them
Like if u know that something is gonna harm ur future are u gonna do it that easily or u wouldn't even think of doing it ?
If you're on windows. Download stayfree and you can set a limit of usage of yt, IG etc... you can even block just shorts/reels it's genuinely amazing and free too.
Joining a BSC hons in cs and game dev is a good option or not
4 years program
and what are others options?... I was thinking of going to such a university myself, but decided to study from books (a month ago)
Let's talk in dm
1: you don't need 151k people to help you, please don't do that in another server
2: you can only get help if you explain what you need help with, just say what it is, don't make people ask
extremely sorry😅
the thing is i got a job offer
no problem it didn't work, but in other servers it might
lol
does anyone know about product management
i got one associate product manager role as a fresher
so if anyone does know about it or level deep into the field pls ping me
i'm still not sure what the question is
have you had PM experience before, or is this your first experience in PM and you don't know what it entails?
PM is a marketing career, but it's kind of at the center of marketing, sales, and business
i'm in accounting and financial management, so i know what it is but nothing in depth
unless your question contains personal information, you might just want to ask it - don't ask other people to ask you what you want to ask 🙃
okay well im feeling really hopeless. i have my final high school exam on june 5th and its on sociology (we got to pick the subject so i chose sociology). i just did an example of the test from one of the previous years and i scored around 50/100 and im so so so sad. ive been trying so hard to imrpove my technique and think about it more and explain it in simpler words but now i just feel straight up stupid
im really sorry if this isnt the place to talk about this
Hello, what is it exactly with sociology that you're struggling with? I understand it gets really frustrating when you do terrible but it's important to also look at ways you can improve
I'm doing a minor in sociology so I might be able to help you out
i have the entirety of my sociology textbook from last year and sociology of culture from this year. the sociology of culture I’ve completely gone over and its okay i guess not that much trouble with that but the other one is written in a way thats way too formal to me while the other one was way easier to understand and more entertaining. Currently im going over politics/country stuff and i just find it so painfully boring because ive never liked it🥲 but on the trial test ig they stated a lot of like “xyz sociologist thought xyz about….” and i can never quite grasp what each one thought and idk
thats probably just a me issue now with not liking the way the questions are asked but its way different learning the definition and the way they ask the question
also my native language isnt english either so that might make things a bit harder but theres definitely a couple of things i could ask about
Thank you sm :)
Oh right okay. So basically there's a couple of sociologists who follow different schools of thought. Like you've got the father of sociology Auguste comte who spoke of positive psychology. There's emile durkheim who spoke of functionalism, Karl Marx whose main thing was dialectical and historical materialism, max weber theories of social action etc. Different eras have different sociologists that gave important theories.
If you look at it closely, they're actually not all that difficult and are pretty easy to understand. However since you seem to be having trouble understanding, maybe you could tune in to YouTube videos that explore these topics. I've found those to be especially helpful when I don't understand certain terminologies. Or you could ask ai to simplify your notes.
In sociology, it's very important that you understand and remember the contributions of various sociologists and their theories and how they relate to the society. Because at the end of the day, sociology is the study of society, and everything that's within it and their interactions.
There's no problem at all! Feel free to ask things
Howdie folks, i have no idea where to put my question soo i will put it here
Soo my sister is getting married in few months and she saw some adobe illustrator made invitations on instagram, like where u put some scenic picture of a town and draw lines over it to create kinda shape of that town so and i just tried illustrator long time ago, it was nice and neat to learn but i forgot it all so if anyone has some neat short tutorials (it could be a few hours (10-15 no prob)) about illustrator just so i can do that for her
i have the instagram link for u folks

<@&942391219206647828>
dude im not locked inn either
omg im so cooked holy
Hello, I'm currently working on a homework for my water engineering program but I've stumble upon a problem in Civil 3D. Was asking if anyone has experience with it can shot me a dm, would appreciate it 🙏
why do i now need to request to post in r/JamesScholz
small community plus reddit dissapointing the memory of Aron swartz
Hello, I have been working with someone who has autism and bpd on a group project and that person has displayed frustrations in our efforts in the group project (from the person's perspective) because the person believes that we should more time into it.
The group's frustration has been that this person hasn't taken the time to explain the reasoning behind changes the person suddenly makes and hasn't taken the time to explain their portion of the work as the person believes it will "waste time" explaining us.
I would be great if someone who has had something similar shine light on how to manage this situation
i don't have any suggestions as to how to accomodate those who are neurodivergent - without knowing them personally in order to ascertain their personality or behaviour, the best anybody can give you is "be patient and understanding", and i know that's really useless advice
however, having just come from a group project where personally i didn't have a bad time with my team members but other people in my class had absolutely horrible experiences with theirs, i suggest you cover your ass on your end
keep a log of what you and the group have been doing and communicating, and record the instances where the team members make sudden changes without letting anyone else know, or remark that it's "a waste of time" to explain
the goal isn't to try to catch them or anything, but to prove to your instructor that you have put in the effort to communicate with your team members and tried to get things done together as a team, and to prove that a team member has not been conducive towards team goals nor have they been cooperative with team members
neurodivergence is no excuse for refusing to cooperate in a team environment
secondly, keep your own backups of the group project files
particularly of the portions that you contributed
call me paranoid - i tend to follow these steps no matter who my team members are
keep a paper trail to prove to your instructor that you've done all that you can in the project so that when push comes to shove, you at least get the marks that you deserve as an individual, if not the full team marks
I have kept a list of my contributions, and so have others and I have kept the work of the project in a separate hard drive. The main issue that is occurring is that group increasing in size yet us old members not having proper knowledge (This is a club project btw), I am seeing this issue that...
Person's perspective:
(more members) => faster progress
My perspective is:
(more members) + (lack of communication for knowledge transfer) => slower progress
Thank you for providing such a descriptive response. I, too, am neurodivergent, so I can perceive that person's perspective, but what I fear is that the person is sacrificing the development of proper knowledge transfer in fear of potentially slowing down progress.
idk y u mentioned the person to be autistic, this sound like a normal disagrement
Issue is that there would be a resolution to the disagreement for a period and then it'll start up again.
(Person start to explain stuff and collaborate and praise other's work) -> (person goes back not communicating) -> (team interjects and states more transparency needs to occur for project to continue) -> (Person start to explain)
I really enjoy the project itself that we're working on, but this cycle is slowly chipping away at my confidence about the project's completion.
The person does have bi polar disorder, could that be playing a role?
why does his non communication hinder team progrees?
looks like hes doing all the heavy lifting in that case
if he is autistic thats thats kinda frustrurating for him
Hello, I'd like to connect with arch students (if possible, studying in germany)
Id like to know more about job opportunities and how the market is doing
what I fear is that the person is sacrificing the development of proper knowledge transfer in fear of potentially slowing down progress
heavy lifting or not, it appears to me that the end goal here isn't merely project completion
whatever the project may be about, i think that it's supposed to be a learning experience, not just results-based
whether that's because team members want to learn from each other, or because they need to know what other team members are doing in order to progress in their own portions
the crux of the issue here is that a team member is refusing to communicate and refusing to teach
in fact, i think there's a misunderstanding between the goals of the team and the goals of the team member - the team wants to learn, the team member wants to get things done
if that sounds about right, then i'd start with clarifying that with them
autism may present a form of frustration in communication issues, but it's also no excuse for refusing to cooperate in a team environment - that's stubbornness, not autism
every team member needs to work together to accommodate for each other's needs
in this case it could be something as simple as "hey, i don't want to bother you as much so can you just write up what you did each week so that we know what's going on with your progress?"
however, it's also extremely important that you don't try to pin this issue on their neurodivergence, because that's discriminatory and does nothing for anybody
The person has been in the project longer than us and recruited us to assist in further work... however he never sat down with us to explain the work he has done so far. Most of our work depends on what he has done and whenever I have to work on something with that person and I begin asking questions to understand what the person has done so far, I am met with "oh you should know this already via osmosis"
The reason why the person is having to do the heavy lifting is that the person is the knowledge bottleneck for the project yet refuses to decrease the knowledge gap and then is frustrated with us when we aren't making progress. Ex. I am having to solve for equation A but I don't even know what equation A is used for or what its parameters mean
It's a club sponsored engineering related research project, so everyone does wish to learn and contribute in terms of innovation. That's why the knowledge bottleneck is frustrating because after an issue is solved by that person and it is explained to us, our members think "I too could have solved that, but I just haven't been told about the work so far and what the scope is of the project :/"
dude u are not even explaining the problem your just shifting the blame on some dude named xyz
What is it that you wish to know?
i wonder how u communicate with him
explain in a linear format
Sure,
(I am recruited for the research team because of my skills) ->
(I notice that most of the team's knowledge about the overall scope and complexity of the project is within one person) ->
(I request that we write up documentation/papers to have as reference material instead of having to constantly ask the person about this and that) ->
(My proposal is reject because that'll waste too much time) ->
(I propose we have a day of QnA where we as a team can ask questions about the project and it'll be open ended) ->
(My proposal is rejected because it'll waste too much time) ->
(I complete engineering problems that arise, but I have to read up and research concepts that could have been referenced in the documentation I proposed, causing my timeline to complete an assignment of the project to lengthen) ->
(Person expresses concerns about others not working on the project and taking too much time)
Ahh i get it. One more quick question, did this person start the project initially?
Yes the person did start the project initially, hence why the knowledge bottleneck exists
the needs and scope of the project is not set or has evolved way ahead of the og goal
he wants to speed up and get it over with as these projects are "leeches"
it may have started as a hobby/personal/ one man project
there is no scope of "knowlage transfer"
the scope has evolved as we continued development, but nothing has been put on paper. The person wishes to finish the project by the end of summer, but I still see massive issues present that would surface up when testing, but my concerns have been brushed aside since the motto has been "aim for the moon and land amongst the stars"
When I say scope, I mean places where the project can be applied
these projects are usually messy things ment to stamp on your potfolio or to list as "prior experences"
dont aim for refienment
Reasons for refinement are present is because this is a club sponsored project and therefore a school funded project, we are expected to deliver on our objective
But you bring up a good point of people stamping these as prior experience stuff
*you are expected to deliver cauz u think so
dont get attached to any project
Well we are being funded by the university
dude i am being honest if the uni cared much they would make the team 50/50 students plus corporate patners
your project is mearly a statistic for them to flaunt
True that
dont get 2 attached
But my original question was whether or not to leave since my opportunity to even stamp this as "prior experience" is being thwarted by the person's lack of ability to work as a team member
as long as u are credited in some work u can stamp it
the guy who started it will have bigger problems and just wants to end it
i know this cauz i have been that guy
u relly dont wanna work on a mindless bs job for more than 2 months
it gets annoying and not worth doing
Yeah, that's why it's frustrating because if we members didn't want to do any heavy lifting then such an issue of that person doing all the work would be heaven for us as progress is being made and we can just stamp our names on it, but we wish to contribute and are being stopped at a brick wall
The project ends in 2 months because the person wish to then write grants to gain additional funding for the next phase of the project. It just seems to me like that person isn't willing to work in a team much
look the thing is for projects like these they start off as a passion project with a lot of tinkering and no documentation. Then the creator does the stupid thing of passing it of to their uni for advise/glory/whatever. Now the uni honestly dosent give a shit and gives a lumpsum of money. The creator panics and brings in more ppl "to work". It then becomes a mindless job for the creator who want to do it fast and get it over with to do something new
Also, thank you for taking out time to assist. I am really grateful for your efforts
i would advise u to just stick your name someware and leave
its not worth continuing
Yeah, it's dawning on me that this might be the case. At least my period of time was paid so that's a plus
Would it be wise for me to state the concerns in my leaving message? Or just I simply state that I don't wish to work on it for any longer?
It seems that no matter how amazing the project is, the person is just not willing to hear concerns about it working out at this point
thats up to you
be professional but dont sever ties with that person
that will be whole other headache
be frank
I will 100% be professional and not sever ties, I have the vibes that the person might since any criticism about the project from other students or professors is met with a very nonprofessional response like "you don't know ____ about this like I do, your minds can't understand it" and things like that
I had once pull this person out from a physical altercation the person was about to begin with a professor
yikes
i accidently turned into a 7 hour screentimer
help
how do i stop
it's never been this bad
i cant get off tiktok
How do u guys study without youtube?
just don't use it
i don't understand the question
use your technology with intent
do you need to use it? then you go ahead and use it
do you not need to use it? then don't go on there
I think he means how to study on yt without getting distracted by yt shorts or thumbnails
I would recommend turning off yt searching history and delete all ur watching history on yt it will stop your yt shorts and yt won't recommend videos to u when u just have opened it + i would suggest u make a new account as u may get distracted by subscription section
is that so
i struggled with it for a little it as well, but ultimately the solution was quite simple in my eyes
All of us struggle with it tbh but everyone has a different level of struggle
😂 turn your watch history off and it won't recommend you anything
YESSS THAT'S THEE POINTT🤝🤝
there was a point a year or two ago where it didn't actually seem to work for me, like it'd still recommend things
i must have had the wrong settings
but well, it works now
happy with it
search bar is right there, easy to use with intent
I think u may had a watching history u didn't delete happy to hear its working now for u anyways 🙌
i keep getting pop-ups form youtube saying ad-blockers are not allowed, is there an extension for firefox which blocks that
on brave i just ignore them
i know google hates if you use anything that isn't chrome, and so actively sabotages youtube's performance to run poorly on non-chrome based browsers so it inconveniences you enough to change over
in that way, you might try one of those chrome mask extensions and see if that fixes the issue
otherwise there might be some setting you can do with ublock origin
like quickfixes
filter lists > ublock filters > uncheck quickfixes > reload page
Finding the ANSI C a bit difficult for me. Like the code has some outdated things like int main things.
C programming a modern approach by kn king, how does that do?
a ad blocker + privacy badger and google string fixer
google will do anything it takes to make firefox shit
do everything to prevent data collection
whats a string fixer
is there anyone preparing for the IMAT exam or who has prepared for it before?
the browser presents a user agent string to the search engine which tells it about the client
u can either manually change it to prevent google from sabotaging your firefox experence
or there is a extention called "google search fixer" to do that
which one is it?
i think it's the first one because it's the only one that says "search fixer" and "receive the search experience shown to chrome"
alr ty
the first one
dude dont mention everyone and dont ask such a vague question. There are ppl studing for every test around the world. There are hundreds studying for the sat.
Hello guys
I' am a first year mechanical engineering student studying in greece
does anyone here know how to solve thevenin/Norton problems?
if yes could you help me
I have 3 days left to study for my science chem final (8 units) and I have 4 days left to study for my math alg/trig final (7 units) and haven’t really studied yet
We get a cheat sheet for chem just a page just front and for math 1 page front and back
How should I study and put on my sheets
Also I need to get an A because I’m both classes if I get a B I won’t get an A and I need an A
herculean task
pray to a god of your choosing, then do practice questions
if you get a cheat sheet, i would assume you don't get formulas which means you need to figure out what formulas you need and put those on your cheat sheet
i need help
so in like 6 days am having my ''bac exam''
and i am good at math and physique but i feel that am still weak
i didn't studyother subjects ''his.geo.arabic.Islamic law..."
soo what should i do
hi guys
do any of you have a good reccomenation for any habit tracker app?
does anyone have some yt channel to help with physics?
How did you guys decide on your major?
everything i like to do makes no money
so i chose to make money instead of chasing my dreams
life is depressing, people who think they can do what they love for work are sheltered and kidding themselves
even if you do what you like for work, the chances of you getting to the high position where you are compensated enough and have good job satisfaction doing what you liked rather than spending time on things you don't like is low, you're competing with hundreds or even thousands of people, there is no guarantee
you use your job money to fund your hobbies
I see, whats your major?
So do you find enjoyment in the coursework? I want to pick a major that makes money but I know that it can be difficult to be high earner if im not willing to work hard due to lack of interest
i tolerate it
accounting is detail-oriented pattern recognition, you can find it interesting like solving a puzzle
I would recommend this one but it has got only one problem which is u can't sync between ur devices
But it has a nice check widget
Hi
all this woudnt be a problem if you think money solves things....
Sad to see that this is still a point of view tbh
Seems like we get scared the moment we realise how finite and how full of freedom we actually are
so chase your dreams mate
put shit in place and go after it
value the things you would like to value, instead of letting money decide worth
i live in one of the highest cost of living cities in the world, in the country where the citizens carry the most amount of debt among all other g7 countries
there are people making enough money here to be very wealthy in other countries, yet living paycheck to paycheck or already on their way to the streets here
if your area or life situation enables you to follow your dreams then go for it - that's best for you
but then clearly, our life conditions are very different
i'd debate this further, but i get the feeling you don't respect me very much, so i'll leave it there
dude u live in a g7 country
i felt a huge slap on my face
wtf dude
are u saying ppl in non g7 are not worth thinking about?
also no one dream anymore
ppl often misquote the og quote
"follow your dreams when there is nothing more to live"
i was not trying to disrespect you, was just saying that there are certain routes you can go
a G7 countrie is a country which is industrial right?
and if i look at the list, it seems like they aint that bad off
all i was trying to say is that i hope you do not regret your choices later in life!
wasnt trying to ridicule you, nor disrespecting
all in all, most of the industrial countries run an economical system called 'capitalism'. Its pretty hegemonic and tirannic, but its also pretty abuseable
so what i was trying to say is that, if you actually sit down, and plan shit out, you can cheat the system
just takes a brain, im sure we all have that
nor is this andrew tate related (dont like that guy at all), im like trying to have a genuine convo
my brain refuses to study for ielts
like i guess i can nail every section
but damn
section with reading
for my adhd brain
it just sucks
i literally fall asleep during it
And it takes me all day to pass the whole 60 minutes section
i have good respect for you, so i have to wonder why you're putting words in my mouth
i'm south east asian, i'm very familiar with the struggle of poorer people in poorer and denser countries
yet we're certainly not going to believe that being in a wealthier country means the society is great and everybody is happy, no?
no, it just means they can pretend to have social welfare programs that are overloaded, underfunded, and don't actually serve anyone
we all have our own issues
i said already: there are plenty of people making enough money here to be very wealthy in other countries, yet living paycheck to paycheck or already on their way to the streets here
it's not to say that poorer people here are all dead or in the streets, simply that when compared to the cost of living you don't have very much money, much of your existence is governed by luck and having the accumulated wealth to deal with misfortune
i'm sure it's the same everywhere and i don't mean to claim that it's better or worse anywhere
but at least in comparison, you can't buy an entire meal to fill your belly for the equivalent of 2 dollars here
i appreciate that
you came into this a bit hot, that's all
i recognize that my view point was very negative, i certainly endorse chasing your dreams if you know it to be viable to do so
however, there are some places where even a single hit in your finances changes your trajectory into an extremely difficult life and i cannot in good consciousness just tell people to follow their dreams without at least considering that, and considering what kind of financial safety nets and buffers they have
there are other regrets on the other side, too
regardless, this topic doesn't belong in a help channel, and discussing economics inevitably leads to politics somepoint down the road so i'm not going to respond to this topic further
mark the questions in the reading section before reading then start reading and answer question by question
i do it on computer, i booked ielts academic on computer
I think there are extensions for highlighting stuff
there are no poor ppl my friend. I am sorry if i offended you but the thing of liveing paycheck to paycheck is a globle one. Adjusted for ppp all countries are the same. There is very little difference between middle class ppl from different countries. Dont think in terms of money or material my friend it just stresses u out.
think in terms of value addition
to society
quality of life followes
if u want a solution, i would say the reasion people "to follow your dreams/passion" say so as they live with regret
dont fall down there mate, whatever u do in life, good or bad, dont live with regret as then your past will define your future
hi all! i gotta present my thesis soon, any tips on how not to freak out and explain things clearly? let me know what helped you or anything you'd recommend! tysm!
act like role model or someone in comic for example Batman or spiderman and act like if you are him it will make you feel more confident
you're poor? skill dif lol
The skill issue of being born into a situation with less socio-economical opportunities and poor parents.
i assuem you wrote it yourself right?
what helps me with those kinds of things is that you should enjoy it. You chose a topic and you can TALK about it, like, people listen to YOU, talking about YOUR topic
HOW COOL IS THATTTTTT
put simple: enjoy
its so fun
Stare at above the head of humans.. that will help u not to get distracted.. personally i used to stare at wall... and well practicing infront of mirror does help... its just the stuffs i used to try-
@shell tundra @desert pine @severe crypt thank you so much for the encouragement and the tips, really! 🥹 felt so nice to hear that from someone else! i'll keep it all in mind and will give my best!
Aight! Keep it up mate
So I just need a suggestion.
I used to journal in 2023-2024
I had a pocket notebook with weakly tasks habit tracker and some thoughts I had at moments
I had like 10-15 pages joint together on my table as my to do list (like making 9 boxes on one page and using it as a to do list for 9 days)
Now its been a while
Now I have a pocket notebook as a habit tracker weekly tasks and hw
I still have pages as to do list
I have a diary but idk how to use it.
James said he had a diary which he used to measure how focus he was during that day. On what scale do I write How focused I was. I don't want to make it a long paragraph its boring. I wanna make it interesting and idk how to measure it. Do you guys have any suggestion on how can I use my diary. Thanks
(Sorry if I reply late, Im just a on a hiatus from social media I use it very less)
hate to admit it to myself but ive always put earning money above any interests ive had simply because that has always been the most important necessity for me so i completely get your pov
Hey everyone, I was recently diagnosed with ADHD but the symptoms have been present for my years. Now, I don’t have trouble making to-do lists but trying to focus and actually get the work done feels impossible.
Does anyone have any focus/concentration advice for ADHD people like myself? If so, can you briefly explain the tools/strategies you recommend?
One of the things I've learnt while navigating adhd is folks often get too involved in making lists. Often to the point that they end up not giving enough time to what they need to. So make sure you're not spending much time making lists!
Coming to strategies, a lot of people find the pomodoro effective until they enter the hyperfocus state, which is optimal. But it also comes with drawbacks so I'd try to leave that for when you have deadlines. Another thing is easing into tasks. If you need to study for something, start by doing the easy things like making notes or the like and eventually ease into doing the studying part once your attention is somewhat fixed onto the subject matter.
When dealing with executive dysfunction, breaking tasks down helps but it can also easily turn overwhelming so make sure you're breaking it down just enough that you can work on things without making it too much for your brain too process.
Gamification of tasks also helps as it triggers the reward and gratification centres!
Also make sure you have things to help you calm down and regulate yourself again when you get overwhelmed!
Other than that, if you've been given medication, make sure you take them. Goodluck!
Yuuuuuur
I got relatine. And told myself that I allow myself only 6h to do my tasks. No tasks planned. Just whatever I need to do. Helper me A LOT.
I usually do 2 times 3h or 2 times 4h. Depends on the period that I am in. If you don't have relatine, I think you can ask for a prescription!
Best of luck
lol same boat here.

Hey everyone!
I need your help with my bachelor thesis - I'm testing AI models for Twitch chat moderation.
How it works:
I have an AI arena comparing different AI models. I'm finding out which one best understands the context of what's happening on stream. You get a chat message plus stream context (stream title, transcript of what the streamer said, surrounding messages, possible moderator actions) and choose which of two AI models responded better. One test takes around 1 minute.
What models provide:
Analysis including sentiment, message intent, relevance to stream, toxicity score and recommended moderation actions. It's in English, but simple.
Charity aspect:
The more votes I get, the less money I have left for food, but more gets transparently donated to local hospice charity. One vote = 1 CZK (~4.5 cents USD) for charity.
Technical info:
Transcripts may be low quality with errors - due to performance I couldn't use a more accurate transcription model. You can watch the live model leaderboard move with more comparisons.
Sorry for the domain, I'd rather spend money on better causes than fancy hosting.
Link: kapparena.onrender.com
I'll be very grateful for your help! Any number of comparisons really helps. 🙏
Help improve AI models by evaluating their responses to real Twitch chat messages.

hey guys im taking a summer course in algebra 2 and im supposed to be done with all 5 units by july 1st. except im only on unit 2.... can yall give me tips to finish the syllabus faster?
make a schedule for which days you plan to do what unit, and stick to it
my teacher has put it best: you have to move on, you can't stick on one portion until you feel like you've mastered it because you'll never feel ready to move on
chances are, you'll see the things you learn in previous chapters in future chapters anyways - you'll get your practice

Homeostatic mechanism in the body is responsible for maintaining the normalcy of various body systems. Whenever there is any change in behavioral pattern of any system, the effectors bring back the normalcy either by inhibiting and reversing the change or by supporting and accelerating the change depending upon requirement of the situation. This is achieved by means of feedback mechanism
There are 2 types
Positive and Negative feedback
Negative feedback is the one to which the system reacts in such a way as to stop the change or reverse the direction of change
Positive feedback is the one to which the system reacts in such a way as to increase the intensity of the change in the same direction
Btw positive feedback is less common than the negative feedback
adrenaline is released by the adrenal glands in response to stress. It acts on receptors on the heart, lungs, blood vessels, GI system.
Adrenaline increases heart rate and breathing rate. Changes bloodflow towards muscles and away from the GI system. It also stimulates glycogenolysis and gluconeogenisis to allow for more glucose in the blood stream.
Basically it activates most of the fight or flight fucntions

Does anyone know good resources to learn SPSS or R for free??
sorry to reply late, let me share you the problem wait..
struggling on this one for days now 😭
this is a just a water jug problem
very comman for interviews n stuff
basically make a equation
xm+yn=d
m and n are liters of the two cans
d is amount needed
lcm(m,n)=d
two find steps you can use a constant pouring method
empty the one can and fill it from other can
so like for example if i have 3 , 5 and i need 4
if i empty n
(3,5) => (0,5) =>(3,2) =>(0,2) => (2,0)=> (2,5)=>( 3,4)
so 7 steps
another way to put it:-
start from(0,0)
fill one till max
empty it in other
if the other full, empty it
repeat till u get d
if u put it in a loop, you will take the incriment i and get the no of steps
(ix3)-1
ohhh
ill consider this one
thanks for explaining it to me, ill try solving it now

Hello, anybody have recommendations for dealing with burnout and procrastination?
For burnout, stop forcing yourself to study and start with short 15-20min sessions with more breaks. Your breaks should be productive. Read, exercise, stretch, snack, drink water, journal, arts and crafts, draw, cook. Dont doomscroll on socials.
Procrastination is personal. Find what are your triggers, like what sort of tasks make you procastinate the most and how you can make thise tasks more accessible. Like maybe you need to get rid of distractions or maybe you need to find some sort of motivation, reason. Maybe the task needs to be made funner/ made into a game system where you reward yourself
hey guys i'm studying informatics and computer engineering in the university. This is my first year and my problem is that i cant stop myself from thinking of quiting. All my classes seem so interesting to me but the high difficulty of them scares me. I have some thoughts that maybe im not smart enough to be able to get my degree if i continue there for 5 years and that some other students are so smarter than me and i will never get to their level of 'intelligence'. I was wondering if someone else has been into the same position as me and if u can help me get back on my feet. Thank u.
you need a mindset change
one where you stop thinking about the progress and skill of other people, and focus on yourself
everything worth doing is difficult especially when you're at school and it's possibly your first time exposure to some of the topics, so forget about things "being too hard" because that's the way it should be
im trying to really and i hope that i will be able to change my mindset and face these topics , the sad thing is that im thinking that im not able to learn those things because yes they are hard but maybe they are too hard for me and maybe im not a guy that can learn and understand those things. I know how it may seem for someone to read these from me but these are some thoughts that im having throughout this year mostly during exams cause thats when i really see and try to study these topics.
but i want to know if u were able to do it how did you do it , maybe i can learn smth from u
Thanks.
Hello everyone! Can someone please give me tips on how to start reading books ??
I'm not a crazy reader or anything but from what I've experienced pick a relatively modern book with a level of English that you can easily understand and make sure it isn't too big
And try to pick one with your area of interest
You don't have to start with classics and such just take it easy
Hi, can someone help me, I can't send a photo to chat?
you might want to open a ticket
Hey, really curious, what's you guys' main motivation in terms of learning and improving yourself?
Trying to see more perspectives outside of myself
does anyone know how james takes study notes, I think I saw in a video but I don't remember.
You gave yourself the answer
"see more perspective outside of myself". Look down upon yourself and see what you think "misses" or something you feel like would add to yourself
Idk
Just go into meta-perspective and think for a while
You'll find something
Hi everyone. I'm entering my first year of college after this summer break. I'm gonna major in logistics and supply chain management in southeastern asia. Hellooo! Does anyone have any recommendations for a good daily planner (preferably a physical notebook)? I've been looking for a good daily planner to plan my study time, but i haven't found one yet.
i use an a5 hobonichi graph paper notebook that i just draw grids in to journal with (learned a few days after that james has one, but he uses it as scrap paper)
if making your own grid isn't it, then hobonichi has a number of planners too
a brand that i learned about recently called take-a-note also has planners, they could be a little less expensive than hobonichi
it's a little too late to get a 2025 but i plan on getting one for next year
both of them use tomoe river paper, which is great for me because i use fountain pens
if you're more cost-conscious, i would suggest looking at muji's offerings
it's just the paper they use is different between the notebooks they sell and i don't quite know how to differentiate them by sight or product code, only by physically opening the book and feeling the pages
thankyou so much!! The take-a-note ones are exactly what i was looking for!🥰
if you get one let me know how it is
though i plan on getting one at the end of the year anyway, i'd like to know your thoughts on the layout and paper quality
it'll be my first time in a long time using a pre-portioned planner
I was looking for an undated one, so i'm thinking of the lite undated hybrid daily planner. the shipment is a bit costly, so i'm going to think about it a bit longer before i buy ':)
i use an a6 hardcover moleskin with lines. ideally id have the gridded or dotted one but can never find them in any stores. seems like only amazon has them
anyone know the specific habit tracker jamescholz uses I seen it in one of his videos.
thankyou!!☺️ i'm gonna check them out
does anyone have a notebook set up theyd like to share? ive been experimenting for a few months but i feel like my current one takes too long every month for me to reset lol
if you mean the widget with dots on it on his iphone, check this video
https://youtu.be/Cu-IMFl37LA?feature=shared
he has two
one is called prettyprogress and costs $8/mo
the other one is one that he wrote himself, the source code is in the description
for taking notes or for scheduling/journaling?
to be honest i have taken in no videos or content on any of this stuff, i just decided to do what felt natural and quick and easy, so i pretty much just write things in lists whether it's notes or my schedule
it's lazy, not fancy, but that way i don't need to spend any time doing developing any sort of format, just dump words on the page
i am not able to sydudy i have a lot of backlog i get distracted so easily and i want to study but im not able to please someone help if soemone know any tips
yh tbh i have a bit of an obsession with having a nice neat format. its honestly going to be my downfall lol
oh yeah it is, and if you enjoy looking at it and enjoy doing it then that means you'll actually do it enough to make it a habit
but there's also a case for practicality in simplicity and the time it takes to make structures for you to write in
the goal is to make it not your downfall by fine-tuning your format to be appealing and useful to you, but not force you to use up all your time designing and making it every day or week
Hi, I mentioned this before, but anybody here have experience with recovering or helping people recover from burnout?
Thanks, given me a bit of clarity
hey guys, I am about to start college in 2 weeks. I am going to be studying business administration+MBA (integrated degree)
What are things I should do before college starts to give myself a head start since I am home and pretty bored the whole day
Also I will be moving out for the first time in my life so what are the ESSENTIALS which people usually miss/ mistakes newbies make in college or hostels
If there's any business major or anyone starting college with the same degree, let's connect!
i'd try and take a look at your handbooks already if you can. It's very helpful to familiarize yourself with the material, perhaps make some summaries you can bring to class. Just find out what you can about the study materials, possible assignments, etc, so you wont fall for any surprises! For the moving out part, look through your own house, what are the objects that you commonly use? (something as silly as a bath could be easily overlooked!). Also prioritize keeping your room clean: wet wipes, dusters, etc can come in handy for a quick clean!
ohh and perhaps some earplugs for when you share a dorm haha, many of my friends have to deal with loud neighbors ':)
those are great tips, will try to arrange for handbooks from sm seniors
and moving out part- i have made a long list abt essentials and the room cleaning things are definitely something I missed, will add those to the list
and earplugs are smth ill defo need 🥹 i like my peace
i hope they'll help!! definitely also enjoy the freedom and opportunities, have fun!🤗
Hello everyone! I need advice, its about MBA in Poland, so if you got anything to share about it please text me! Thankyou! Have a nice day!
its just discipline motivation dosent do anything
that's not what I'm asking
I'm asking why you're doing what you do
like, why have you chosen to be disciplined and accomplish xyz.
For some it's family. Others freedom. Others just find it fun.
That's what I mean
I'm purely asking to learn more about people, not really asking for advice
I should have phrased my question differently
My reason is because I want to have the freedom to make the most informed decisions in my life, and the competency to create whatever I want. Just wanna be the best I can be.
That's why I choose to stay on my track and be disciplined. Because I believe in what I'm doing.
That's the sorta answer I'm tryna get here 😭 like I wanna understand why you guys are doing stuff for yourself
not to say that everyone has to have it all figured out lol. Just curious
sure
i was depressed - still am, depression never really goes away, it's never really cured - for about 2/3 of my life
it's tough because in that state of mind you never really feel interested in anything so i spent a lot of time just aimlessly reading books or falling into a rabbit hole of wikipedia articles, which eventually built a really shallow but wide understanding of a lot of topics and it was a lot of fun just sort of knowing a little bit about everything that people talk about and being able to discuss any topic
a couple years ago i think things started to feel better, and it was like the world became colourful, everything that most people found mundane has some sort of a history of how it came to be, or somebody had some of personal story to it
that's a roundabout way of saying that i like learning and improving myself, because i finally realized that the world was so colourful
that's never the only reason - i'm also driven to get money to live well, to provide for others, maybe driven to correct flaws in my character or missing knowledge that i think is important
but at least, i think a lot of my motivation is just being able to be curious about anything
nothing is boring anymore, and that's such an amazing feeling for someone who never had an interest in very much, whose world was gray and dark
As someone also dealing with depression this is really touching
I really like that angle
I'm a little the same? with how I view the world right now
i hope the world is becoming more colourful for you too
the time i spent just gaining knowledge without a purpose when i was deeper in depression, probably laid the roots to why i seek random knowledge in really mundane or strange things now
when you have curiousity in everything, nothing is boring, then you can find interest in and learn about anything
also being good at googlefu 🙃
Is there a Way to access python libraries in android without getting paid apps? Like I have used termux and pydroid but they r messy and doesn't work well pydorid works but most libraries r paid
I'm in the process of trying to recover. For the first few days, try not to use any tech at all. Just let your mind wander and do nothing. Be unproductive as much as you can. Later on you will find yourself so much better.
Go outside to nature and walk more. Move more. Then slowly start doing low effort work like reading. Then if you're feeling ok then only start working on one or two simple exercises (for me it's code). That's where I'm at now
Is there anyone here keeping up with ADHD? It isn't good.I used to have a good study routine 4 years ago, but now it's all messed up.
Amen
No matter how hard I tried, I just couldn't focus or put in effort. At first, grades started decreasing and recently I even failed an exam.
i understand that small tips from people who relate can be really helpful, but personally it sounds to me that this has impacted your life significantly enough that you should seek professional help
everybody has different things that work for them
my friend who deals with adhd motivated himself through his study sessions by treating showering as a reward and getting in the shower after every study session, but that anecdote probably doesn't help you much if you don't like showering as much as he did for example
I'd be interested in what you could try that would work without access to medication. I'm in a similar boat.
Body doubling is the best way. To some extent studying with streams worked for me. Also, I heard that exercise really boosts mood and enhances executive functioning.
#CS advice help
I want to ask for some advice for CS people who took a semester off and came back later. Did you come back stronger or did you feel like you had lost your momentum and it's harder to pick back up?
I was very burnt out from the earlier semester so I'm thinking of taking a break. I honestly felt like I was scrambling through and not actually learning anything and making it stick. Oftentimes I breakdown because of assignments and I had some health issues due to this.
However I'm just afraid of losing momentum. I have plans of doing some online courses, getting certifications and trying to build some real projects before I go back. But that will mean I need to remake all new connections again if I ever need help. Worse, my whole course plan needs to be restructured
So I need some advice from y'all. How was your experience?
I'm extremely tired and can't focus anymore
Hey! Whats up y'all? Hope are you guys doing well... Anyone from Island? Random question
Does anyone know a server for learning coding and data analysis mainly focused on Bioinformatics ?

google search, you might get it
Just means you're not working hard enough.
J/k
guys how can i use ai to make it create an exam for me and to test me
my uni provided us with 1200 questions with multipul choices and answers and i need it to make exams for me to test me before i do the actual exam
can anyone help me use ai to make that possible and do i need subscriptions ?
typically when people use ai to prepare for their exams, it's because they don't have practice questions and need to generate some to solve
if your school give you the questions already, what do you think you need ai for
the most you can ask of it is to choose the questions for you, maybe you ask it to choose 60 questions for you at random
you don't need to generate anything, can honestly accomplish the same thing just pointing a finger at a question at random
just means that your mind or body hasn't build enough resilience yet
Is there anyone here studying in Germany I may ask a question about what is expected to answer at the Statistic Survey in an Enrollment form? There is a box I am not sure what it refers to probably cause I don't now the exact meaning of terms used in Germany. It is neither an exam nor anything to do with being or not admitted, I already am, just a survey they do for statistic background data from the students, but I want to give the information correctly
Anyone ?
meow
I am German and studying in Germany too, feel free to give me more details and context so I can help you out
i do have practice questions alot of them but i want to practice them in form of an actual test , thanks i ended buying chatgpt to make it choose random questions and keep testing me , thanks for the reply i appretiate it
glad to hear, i don't know if you needed to buy chatgpt to do that but hm
might have worked with the free version, but i haven't ever had to ask it to parse and sort 1200 questions yet
I am in 12th grade rn and I have my boards this year I havent started anything and I am very worries abt my future ik that I wont get a good college and my 3 years depends on how hard I work right now but Idk I just cant really get up and start doing my work can someone pls help me with something Its really high time right now help
You can only help yourself bro instead of worrying. I was so depressed a few weeks ago but I still kept going because it was my responsibility. Nobody will push you except yourself. There's nothing you can change about the time lost or lost ideal grades. Get a plan and start small everyday, don't expect yourself to understand everything 100% at this time as Rome wasn't built a day
I am a 3rd yr biotech student. I wanted to get into the field of bioinformatics and build projects and do research. But I am a beginner in python, r and intermediate in c..I feel like a loser because everyone at my age are doing more things. I am far behind than everyone else. Now I also have to prepare for summer internships interviews ( mostly focused on c++, dsa as concerned with IT companies)... I don't know where to start
Dude stop it, if you think you are a loser u will be. It's quite easy to learn syntax, its not that easy to program. Go to any competitive programing site like leetcode or atcoder and start doing a few problems and build your aptitude. As for projects n stuff very few companies actually look deeply at that, they just want to see a few intresting projects
Keep ypur self confidance high mate,if u dont belive in yourself no one ever will
Aww...thank you for your guidance dude 🥹🥹..Started to do some problems on leetcode and gfg...
hey there, a programmer based in india, currently learning and building projects, i need cursor but its banned for indian students, can somone help me with it?
if yes, it would be really grateful, please dm
