But, what you like to do?
But idgaf imma solve it anyway
Reading, writing, learning, thinking, advancing in terms of development.
The last one is a big one tho
But I'll do it.
do that
Does anyone know how I should approach learning about cars?
Which is better listening to lofi music while studying or studying in silence
Depends on you
Typically it can help you maintain a relaxed focus if you avoid bass heavy or lyric dense music
Think it totally depends on the person. I can't listen to lofi or anything calm because it makes me fall asleep. But at the same time I can't sit in silence and study. So I kinda just listen to pumped up music; it's probably not the best choice but it works for me.
white noise or gamma waves (backed by science) or if you feel like you get distracted very easy try this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZ2NQ-xQINI&t=2168s

From the 2007 album "Kontinuum".
i listen to pumped up music, which I know by heart already, too when I'm doing data work, absolutely loathe lo-fi and white noise. But when writing, need some silence.
yesterday i made a decision
for now on i will have no social media on my phone
i will only acess them through my notebook only when really needed
hope this reduces my screentime
i had like 6 hours a day of screentime early this week so
any tips on how to make the social media "addiction" gone for good
clean it
delete people you dont care about, keep only people you really care
be more conscious about how you use it, do a to-do list and do your hobbies
also your enviroment is crucial, set it up for that
dont use your phone when charging, dont use it when eating
use a clock to watch what time is it
dont use unlock with fingerprint
dont use shortcuts
greyscale can also help
make your phone boring
off notifications
delete your passwords saves so everytime you want to use a social media, you need to put again your password
get bored
Use cold turkey for pc (it won't let you unblock nor delete in the time you put) and appblocker for phone if you have Android
Thx bro
Got it
Thx man
Also do the whole dopamine detox actually worked for someone here?
35eur though
thats smart!
youtube is scary addicting though that's my main news source, learning source and entertainment source so I find it hard to quit. jvscholz extension suggestions reduced my time by ALOT but I still end up there for a while
I used watch like 90 hours of youtube a week in the past so nowadays its basically nothing in comparison : )
gonna try and make " NNN " more of a general dopamine detox month though so something like coldturkey but free would be great if you have suggestions hmu
what's 35 eur? its free
Oh I'm sorry, I was mistaken by the " pro " version. Thanks, I'll check it out : )
cold turkey saved my life, because once you block a website (for X days), it wont let you unblock, you can't delete cold turkey when blocking, you cant do anything to stop it
so there's no way to cheat
addon - Unhook youtube - if you use the comments as a parasocial dopamine kick
Cerito, wonderful tipps
nah It's not about the comments or anything it's purely just me consuming content
Nope full length videos
podcast style vids or funny vids
I've done this since very early on in my life, that's how I learnt english besides playing minecraft lol..
90 hours is really a lot
all sorts, I follow a single podcast, internet drama like moistcritikal or dangelo wallace, random channels like jacobjones which is just a guy who smokes a cigarette and talks about its history, IT stuff like gamersnexus or LTT, random funny vids like gattsu which is just a guy making fun of eastern european stereotypes for the most part, politics in my country now that there's been a really good series of videos revealing that most politicians are corrupt in a funny manner what I watch is constantly ever evolving
Yeah I don't do that much nomore sadly I can't check how much I've watched since I deleted the youtube app
honestly in my circle youtube is the biggest problem all of my friends are the same
very good :) it feels like you're watching tv from that mixture. lots of people have been and are addicted to the telly
one of them moved on to tiktok but for the most part everyone just watches youtube 24/7 its insane. and isn't even that common from the people I've talked to.
true and the problem for me is if I'm not watching youtube I fall back to talking with my friends on discord even if its about basically nothing It's really unfortunate especially since it feels like you can't uninstall discord cause youll just miss out on what your friends are doing.
with this mixture, and the long length of the shows, and you not watching these high dopamine things, it sounds not so much that you're addicted to youtube. i don't think these dopamine detox stuffs will help tremendously.
maybe you just can't be with yourself, as you are. maybe you don't have a different kind of hobby. maybe its just your friends, at least a little bit
holy shit
that's crazy accurate
how's your self-worth, do you have high confidence? do you take pride in your skills and knowledge?
this is getting a bit personal, but I used to be really overweight then I lost weight and surprise surprise, people are alot more open to talking with me yet I don't trust them so I kinda stick with my old circle. I don't have much pride in my skills.
I have insane trust issues honestly wish I knew how to solve that lol
yeah, no need to trust people. they need to earn your trust, nevermind them
everybody is only after what they can gain, from better working conditions to parasocial relationships, everyone just tries to live a good life and sooth their hurts
i bet you did learn how to trust yourself a little through losing weight
you gotta trust yourself a lot more :D
now, what do you remember from the last IT podcast you watched? could you name 3 take-aways from one channel which were important to you?
i would recommend first leaving out the making-fun-of/funny channels. those lead down the rabbit hole of loss, and never ever starting tiktok
It's honestly been a while since I watched an IT podcast, the last one I watched was today and its just a group of guys from my country talking about their childhoods and making fun of them, the differences between them since 2 of them grew up spending summers out in the country while one of them spent their whole life in a city
okay, what i wanted to ask was whether you specifically actually learn something from the podcast-type youtubes
something you remember
I'd say from the IT videos I watch its mostly keeping up with what's happening for example I watched a summary of the apple event that happened yesterday
because what I hear from that list right now is a lot of youtubers "talking to you", "being with you". there's an entire trend in korea of youtubers "eating with you" for the lonely people who eat alone and need some diversion
are you sure that youtube is not a safe, pleasant substitute for the messy, risky real relationships?
maybe take a while to write down, before or after you watch a YT vid or sesh, what you feel, what it made you feel
i guess YT could be a bandaid over a festering wound full of bad feelings, and the more you rip it open, the more the ooze comes out, and with it, insecurity, lonelyness, boredom, uncertainty of where you stand now, how the future will be, and just generally an undefineable mass of bad feelings
I'd agree on the mass of bad feelings I'm pretty aware of that.
i'm trying to come to terms with my bad feelings, and it's a process akin to chewing gum that's been stuck on the underside of a table
my bandaid was fantasy books, so my chewing was workout, and trying diverese hobbies which I only read about
everything is really unpleasant and unrewarding and so much more work
but that feeling of being alive, truly in the flow, in the moment, you will only gain if you lose yourself in the action. and it's a completely different feeling than the substitute cotton pad you're nursing with YT
sorry if i was too direct, i'm freezing and needed to finish stuff xD
xD It's okay, you're honestly bringing up great points
I feel that I was at a good place around this time last year
I woke up before 6am if it was a gym day I'd get on my bike and go to the gym before school if It wasn't a gym day I'd study but eventually I ran into a personal brick wall
and never managed to get things back into place again, always putting away fixing life till whenever I move out
sadly I can't move out very fast if I don't study so it's a terrible loop
personally i think, to get rid of YT, you will need to go lateral too:
- self-care, explore this concept more intricately, give yourself several tries over the next months, and find out what makes you care for yourself, for your body, for your mind. this will increase the worth you have in you.
- self-confidence. find pride in what you CURRENTLY can do and know. understand who you are. understand what you stand for, and wouldn't back down for. What are the hills you die on? Who are you? What is important to you? What is your past and where will you be going from now on?
- Be proud of what you do. especially if you watch youtube. Why do you do this? there must be a reason for that. Very little we do makes no sense. What is your brain helping you with by watching YT? But first and foremost, accept that you're at this place for a reason.
- Try to sound out your feelings. Do you know what you feel as the days go by? can you discern anger, sadness, grief, boredom, regret; or is it all just a big blob of chest and back pain? We are all trained to not feel our emotions through entertainment content. How well trained are you, and how much do you need to work to resurface your wants, needs, and feelings?
- all 4 points are distinct and require multiple rehashes over weeks to stick, or at least i needed several XD
I believe that severe, chronic procrastination, that doesn't get better over several honest attempts at improvement, stems from low self-worth/self-confidence. If YOU can't be with yourself and whatever results you produce, no wonder you don't produce results. You think your results are insufferable and weak, so they better not exist (until we must do them, deadline looming).
Practical work: 1) shower-teeth-hair-whatever routine a few times a week with a light requirement of enjoying yourself 2) expose yourself to something difficult, like hiking through a city without a map or do a part-time-job, or idk, life experience and lots of thinking about who you are. 3) stop watching funsies, that's only the dopamine kick. for the non-fiction YT crap, write short summaries of each video you saw with a take-home message. post them in the comments etc. for the others to see and never visit the video ever again (try to not look at the likes/lack of likes). Goal: you want to learn so you can teach others. 4) feel into your body, see where the pain is. Breathe deep and imagine the breath going into that spot (source: HealthyGamer). 5) lost track? no problemo! life isn't loops, it's spirals!! and you will get the same lessons again and again until you learn ;D
as stupid sounds I've never though of working by myself on myself mentally
feel bad go to gym
I'll try though, could be the key for sure.
thanks for the help :))
I guess i'm also in a bit of a rut... haven't come far with what I preach, honestly. have ripped off the band-aid of YT/internet two-three times, had some bad feels like boredom and regret, and stuck the band-aid right back on. Am at 15 hours internet / week rn, and i guess my next step would be to try and meditate and get more relaxed, if I could please at some point just put my mind to it xD
me
but depends

Can u explain?
So, I did a detox but not only that, I worked on myself, and cleaned all my social media, also I did it progressively, first of all I started to write, why I wanted to get off of social media, how I felt when I was on my phone all day vs how I felt when I did other stuff, then unfollowed accounts in all my social, I changed the settings of my devices, and created a minimalist space around me (I wanted this for years), I use timers, but at this point I only use youtube
I started to become more aware and realistic about how social media affected my life
So, it was more easy, all the time I wanted to open instagram to watch reel, I was thinking about that
I always delete chats
So, example, now Im having problems with yt and discord, and I need to know why before all, so I can work on that to fix that problem
But like did it made u a more healthier person in general
On maybe a more satisfacted person ?
both I think
yas
This reminds me of the shepherd's tone.
I have tried it but sadly it doesn't work.
Same but recently I have been more in my thoughts while listening to music so I was thinking of changing it .
shephard's tone feels like anxiety in a sound xd
i love science and maths. where i live, unis dont have many available courses for me to take. my options are EEE or biotech. career options post education are also next to none. ppl who usually study STEM dont find anything to do in this country. my home life makes it so that i need to be present so moving is not an option. i think the truth is i wont ever become an engineer or a hotshot researcher regardless of whether i do well in school as a result of these family obligations and the lack of prospects where i live. i want to be there for my family so thats not something i can even put off. when i envision my life in 10 years all i see is a highschool teacher and that feels like a waste almost, although i do have so much respect for teachers. i want someone to give me all the the answers but i also dont think i have a proper question to ask at the end of this. is there really no tangible use to my university education? do i look stupid studying these competitive subjects and striving to do well knowing i wont be able to apply the knowledge?
are there any specializations that connect to STEM (other than CSE) that would allow remote working
I have a question everyone, something that’s been bothering me for a while. I just don’t know how to set a consistent routine. My grades are not too bad right now but I want to achieve my full potential but I just don’t know why I’m not consistent in my studies and my daily life. I come back from school feeling tired, sometimes I get 8 hours of sleep, sometimes 6 or 7 but I still feel tired and unable to do much work. I get the minimum done with homework but when it comes to exams and tests, I’m revising a day before and scram to understand as much as possible, sometimes it works, but sometimes I end up panicking and end up getting an average score. I’m not sure if I’m not eating enough, I barely exercise but how do I get myself into the mindset and habit of consistently studying. It’s my final year of high school and I don’t want to waste it.
Why you do it? why you procrastinate?
Kinda facing the same problem. I just can't get into the flow state Even after reminding myself why I am doing this. One thing that has helped is to THROW YOUR PHONE AWAY. It was the biggest distraction for me. After doing this I felt like I had so much time in a day. I am still learning how to utilise the time
Mark manson told a perfect quote for this "
If you’re stuck on a problem, don’t sit there and think about it; just start working on it. Even if you don’t know what you’re doing, the simple act of working on it will eventually cause the right ideas to show up in your head.”. Just keep doin something. You'll eventually get the answers to your questions
It happens with me too....
If you don't feel like studying just study (ik it sounds weird)
- What I did was I created a nice pleasant environment around me when I study. For example I'm studying biology and I'm learning a disorders, etc so I just write them on the notes and stick it on the wall and it just gives me nice vibes when I have to study.
- Phones are distracting, what I did was just turn of all the notifications of WhatsApp and all other apps or you can keep mobile from in other room.
- I watch James stream when I study, it just helps me.
- Wake up early and study at least 2 hours before classes so you don't feel after you come from school or classes that," oh I was in school for half a day I just didn't do any self study and now I'm tired."
- Take a piece of paper and write down all the distractions and make those things which distract you as hard as possible that you won't do it.
- Go and workout cuz if you're home all day after school and ik you're stressed that will I do good in final exam. So hit gym or take a walk for half n hr outside, you'll not get depressing thoughts.
- There's a quote I really like, "a wandering mind is an unhappy mind." You just can't sit there all day doing nothing, plan your day and stick to it. You often tend to procastinate when you're doing absolutely nothing.
- Maintain a diary what you studied that day and how much time you studied.
- Set a target for the week that I wanna get these things done by the end of the week anyhow.
With these notes around, it just creates a study vibe around me and helps me
@polar wind Hope this helps you
Thank you 🙏 I’ll try to implement these points in my daily life
Ik it won’t be perfect at first but I’ll try my best
It does, thank you
For point number 4, waking up early before school, do you suggest I do the same on weekends so my routine stays consistent ?
I mean you should cuz weekends are the day where you have a lot of time and should study more.
Do any of you know an apk for reading books and e reading
Yeah moonreader but I haven't used it.
is it worth to learn to use obsidian to use when studying? Does it really is a game changer and really makes studing easier ??
for me dont, I am a Notoin guy
So did notion became a game changer to you?
Or is it just another helpfull gadget that produtivity youtuber overhype like it changed their life ?
Why I get so tired just after solving 3-4 questions need help with that
this for me
Alright
I was not really planing to use it as a way to organize my life
More as an way to study
I use it like cards or resumes
oh i see
notion has a standalone program? I though it didn't that's one of the reasons I chose obsidian over it
I really needed this vídeo. I kinda saw myself a lot in the hardships he described.

What did you think of the procrastination video?
Chiropractors are mostly scammers based on what people have told me and my personal experience.
I've had much more results following a digital minimalist like Schultz than what slimy, sponsored youtubers have recommended...
**Anyone dealing with not having a separate workspace besides where they already spend their time at home? **
I spend 90% of my time at my computer desk and have no other place to study.
I've though of going to the library but it's quite far away so since it's already hard to start working a long trip to do so makes it even harder.
The other thing I've read about is installing LED's around your desk and changing the color depending on what you intend to do, anyone here tried that? I have some LED's so I just need to get a power supply for them and I could try this option : )
Is what I do about procrastination, sometimes we dont want to do something, but more and more you think of that, it more stressfull you will be, but If you just turn off your brain you will flow
Who is learning ReactJs?
That's an interesting idea.
I have a folding desk I use for studying.
I hate trying to study at home.
Either I get nothing done or I can't sleep.
I tried renting office space and that was kinda expensive and I'm burned out on libraries and coffee shops which don't really work for me for a variety of reasons.
Interesting, interesting.

What shultz use as a note taking app?
hi

paper 2a and 2b are for architechure students

Doom Emacs
Inst it more focused in coding tough?
any of u guys had problem with tiktok i managed to uninstall it few times but im always coming back for it
it eats all my time
and i dont know how to end it
So you keep reinstalling it?
You can try deactivating play store with you dont need to download anything new
been there with instagram, honestly what helped was at the end of the week to just see how many hours I spent there, i was spending too long there and just wasting time, plus it was extremely distracting and was messing with my concentration so i deactivated and uninstalled and didnt go again, ngl it is hard sometimes but i feel like the benefits outweigh the cons so maybe reflect on how time consuming it is and whether it is worth it spending that much time there, if not consciously choose to replace that habit with a healthier one like reading a book, going for a walk...
appblock apk, time restrict the app and use level 2 restriction, so it wont let you uninstall the appblocker
social media is very "seductive" if you dont have a routine and have a lot of vague time
So try to plan your day and fill it with more productive or healthier habits
That way you problably wont even remember to check reels or something
Can anyone please study with me?
I've had a bad day and really wanna take my mind off of it but I'm unable to focus and stay motivated
I thought I finally defeated social media, only to find out I am now addicted to YouTube. Can you blame me, though? YouTube is lowkey better than Instagram.

there is no philosophy-help ?
no channel here is perfectly adequate for philosophy, but I guess #humanities-help is the closest you can get
Does anyone know a good way to annotate/take notes when reading books
thank you so much
btw I think we're in the better situation rn
much things happened in the few days, but the key is to communicate openly and to trust the opposite
perhaps trying to focus on the task instead of finishing the job
I want to suggest this course also, the one I finished recently thanks to my free account from my school
I read the author's book on learning how to learn, but this is a more interesting way of expressing her ideas
the journey was so much fun for me
and I decided to take her course named Mindshift, too
Its also free if you dont have a premium account
But its will be more fun to accomplish a certificate after putting your hard work into it
consuming educative content feels like I'm going to miss a lot... unlike other social media platforms. that's hard.

This video is the culmination of the key principles I have been following so far to chase my dreams as a writer, filmmaker, and musician. It takes a big leap to actually commit to your dreams. It takes something much more than the bare minimum. It takes massive action but we are all capable of doing it. There's a great source of power within all...

How can I stop being scared of failure?
As i see it, there are two reasons for that fear: external and internal.
- External: meaning how people view you (or someone) failing something. It is a parameter that you can't really control, because some attach only attach the factual result (yes you didn't pass the exam because you didn't answer correctly to question A, B and F), while some others undoubtetly put a jugement on that (if you fail, you are a miserable person, you aren't smart, you don't belong in their pretty friend group or whatever). People will always have an opinion on you or anything really, and trying to convince them otherwise may be detrimental to you and your goals if your focus is just to people-please and fit in. The only parameter that you can, on the other hand ,act on is yourself. Which leads me to the second reason.
2.Internal: you see failure as a value. Meaning if you fail something, you tie it to personnal value, you believe you are a failure, and that nothing can be done about it because it's your nature after all, and why even try since you failed already. This is absolutely false. I would advise to take a step back and clinically observe the things you achieved or that you failed. In that way you detach emotions from facts and you are more able to see where you can improve, what may or may not have been the reason why something didn't workout, and then plan ahead some steps to correct that or to get better. And tracking your progress (even if it's not linear, because nothing is, life happens) will help you grow confidence in yourself, in some of your skills and your ability to bounce back.
Rember that all success are the fruit of many, many failures, and that you cannot be a master without being a fool before. Try reading about people who have achieved great things, (autobiographies may help on that) and you will be assured that they did fail at some point, they kept on persevering however and overcame their difficulties. So with enough drive, discipline, and a good support system, you can do it too !

how do u guys accept that bad things happen for no reason?
for there to be highs there must be lows. if it remained at good your entire life how would you know it was good?
probably not a perfect analogy but that is just life my friend
yea, it just that things were so absurd and I couldn’t really find anyone to blame, not even myself
no reason to blame or dwell on things that you cannot control in life, that only leads to more issues within yourself and mindset
just have to accept the fact that it happened although you dont like the result and keep continuing with life. time does not stop for anyone so its just better to spend your time wisely my friend
yea, but I do not want it to happen to me again. Do i just have to accept that on a random day in the future, it will come out of nowhere without warning?
it depends on the seriousness of the situation, its all up to you when you want to accept it. we all move at different paces, its best to accept it when it feels right or when you forget about it. if you want to forget about it and move on now, its best to accept it as fast as you can. if its a more serious situation i would say take your time and just learn and grow from the situation.
just a side note, i would recommend journaling. it helps you get things off your mind such as this now and lets you revise the situation

Make a study schedule and stick to it.
Plan your study sessions and use pomodoro timers. For example you can use like a 50 minutes studying / 10 minutes rest timer and when you are in the studiyng session just keep your phone away and beyond reach. in the rest intervals you can check your phone when is over you repeat the process.
is it possible to do bachelors in physics and then masters in mechanical engineering? (iam in class 10 iam interest in physics[astronomy] and engineering[mechanical] i dont really have much knowledge in these asides from school physics and doing programming and trying to program raspberry pi pico on my own and after asking my teacher the answer i got was its not and even if i did study physics my country has no scope for me to work in that field so i just ask i apologize if it this a ignorent stupid question)
It depends on what courses you take and if your university allows it. Not a dumb question :D
@young umbra Thanks for the tip
Nevermind :D
You welcome 🙂
Congrats on your pursuit of digital minimalism!

Is not totally about the screen time, is more, I think, about how u use that time
Mhm.
So i'm currently stuck on what major I should pick. I have no idea how I should explore this. any advice?
I don't really want an office job and I don't want to be buissness major either
I want a major that will keep me moving while also being able to help people out
You could be a doctor or surgeon
What areas of field are you aiming for? Healthcare, technology, education, ect. I consider looking into those areas and find what suits you best.
I recommend creating a structured routine for your activities. Make sure to allocate specific time slots for your study sessions, and don't forget to incorporate planned breaks for rejuvenation and relaxation. This structured approach can help you manage your time effectively and enhance your productivity.
@muted yoke currently I'm a computer science major and I'm losing passion in it Sonim not entirely sure what direction I should go
Frankly speaking, we have to look realistically into what profession/major you want to get yourself involved with. Do you know what interests you? Have you looked into things that might be worth your time? I believe we should start with that. I also noticed that you mentioned you want to help people out, is there a particular field that involves that?
the only line of work I can think of is nurse or doctor but im really scared of how hard it is
Yes, certainly. Explore several alternative careers like social work, psychology, occupational therapy, human resources, or nonprofit work, as they all involve helping others. Though I agree with the challenges of pursuing a medical career, it's important to remember that there are various fulfilling options available. Take some time researching those options and choose one that calls out to you most. If you’re not in a rush to pick a major/career, you could always give yourself time to think and look over.
anyone have a sleep routine/know how to deal with anxiety before bed?
Bet anxiety all day, not only when you going to bed
Journaling, speaking how do you feel, don't silence your thoughts
Also meditation
Breath exercises
Have a moment for yourself
Drink water, eat correctly do exercise, manual work and enjoy the moment
Don't sleep during the day and exercise. I feel so tired that I instantly go to sleep without even thinking
Take a deep breath, drink water, and lay down. If you’re comfortable doing so, meditate. It’s the best mechanism for dealing with anxiety.
thanks everyone !! C:
thanks
Declutter your space, your room.

any advice on how to improve study habbits? also how long should I study a day so that I can balance soical life. and a good way to keep track of everything?
what i do is do the most difficult task in the morning before doing any other thing (i wake up at 7:00 a.m.), study for long hours without checking social media so I can enter a state of "deep focus"
basically that, also listening to music (not lofi, more like piano or something similar)
I see
I have school at 10am though
I'm just not sure what my schedule should be
my school is from 10-5
You can study at night tho
yeah me too so i study something like 7:00-9:00 then i eat something and a coffee and head to uni
I can but i'm not sure as too how long I should
the problem studying at night is at what hour you finish
I don't know how long is a healthy amount because I"m just studying everything at once or I'm waiting till last minute and it's very overwhelming
having good sleep is really important and most people just ignore it
yeah indeed
you shoud see what schedule works the best for you
my schedule is just big blocks of "study" and to see what I have to do i just write in my notes on the phone the night before the tasks i need to do
how should I go about trying?
should I just keep studying until I can't anymore or?
i'm just not sure. I have no studying skills becuase I wasn't really taught any
tysm !! i’ll definitely get to that this weekend
thats not really healthy to be honest
so I've kind of want to explore and get a better handle of it
is better to set a couple of tasks and do them instead of saying "i will study for 3 hours" for example
^
what i do is just write on my phone what i have to do the next day
time ≠ quality of study
for example "study 15 pages of sociology" and "write notes"
or something like that
if i finish all the tasks and i see that i still have time i will study a bit more
I see. So it's better to do the tasks in blocks
Yesh
there is a quote from Atomic Habits that says "quality of work= intensity of focus x time invested"
meaning that is better to work for fewer hours but in a better mental state
so i would say just focus on the tasks you have to do instead of the time and do it the most eficient way you can
Don't be like me, you think im studying for 10 hours? Nuh uh, I'm fighting my demons for really start studying
the best way i’ve found to help with studying is to:
-
get a good amount of sleep so i can focus on my class lectures. by making sure i understand most of the material during the lecture, it reduces the time i need to study at home because i was able to focus and deeply understand during class time
-
make a layout of what i need to study. it’s super good to get a general idea of what you need to get done in the amount of time you have free. if you study without a plan, you’re more prone to feeling aimless and giving up due to being overwhelmed
-
using a pomodoro timer. i used to underestimate the use of pomodoro timers but i use it for almost every study session now. TLDR; it helps a lot with tackling burnout when studying for long hours
-
stay hydrated :p
ok. I'll try
you got this :DD
You think I need to delete my screen time widget or is it good to always be aware about the time I spend in my phone?
its good to be aware
Congrats bro
Hello, I’m trying to study excel for work, and trying to get a certificate in doing so since i think it’d look good on my resume, anyone know a good online course, preferably free one to study it on?
Understandable. It’s common to feel stuck and unsure on where to start especially at such time. Just let me know if you need further assistance, I’m always available. Good luck to you.

man thank you so much
found their site
https://lacompagniedukraft.com/en/boutique/139/a4-leather-notebook-robusto
https://www.la-gent.com/collections/la-compagnie-du-kraft
La Compagnie du Kraft has been making robust notebooks for workers since 1930. Each notebook is handmade in their Paris Studio. It styles itself as the most most unproductive manufacturer of notebooks in the Western world. These are hard wearing yet beautiful notebooks which can be refilled.
No problemo
Griffith did everything wrong
Indeed he did
finished berserk last night
ending got me mad/sad
wish he was still alive 😭
lunch time though
why does this notebook cost like 140 usd
no idea bro
maybe cuz its hand made or some other than that i have no idea
im probably gonna look for a ripoff version of it
Leather and brand, marketing, handmade probably
yeah but still 140 usd seems a bit overpriced
Its no doubt overpriced
right
peeps
how do i reduce my sleeping hours without affecting my health?
my exams are near and my brain not functioning well until i get 8 hours of sleep ;-;
Sleep with light on
or have them automatically turn on ∼30 minutes before you wake up
You can't reducing sleep is terrible for you. get 8 hours.
^^^ need to rest your body so you can perform well otherwise youre being inefficient and wasting your own time and efforts
how to get killed without dying?
Just sleep 8 hours a night, got to bed earlier if you have to. Maybe after a while you will notice you need less sleep because your body adjusted and maybe you just need 8 hours of sleep to function.
so actually i wanna know i used to study like 7-8 hrs daily but now i'm inc it
how much hrs of sleep would enough?
and also stuying with pomorodo tequiqe is okayy? like not giving a long break like more than 30 minutes?
8hrs
okayy and also i'm gonna study like 1 hrs straight and 15 minutes break, until i complete my 12 hrs is that okay?
in break probably i'm gonna do sometime meditation sometimes music sometimes stretching
I'm not sure I have never studied that long, I think james used to do 60 10 so I'd wager 60 15 is fine but he has also mentioned that when off stream he doesn't do pomodoro.
okayy okayy got it thanks buddy
How do you guys feel about 30/5 and then each 4 15 min break? Is 30 min to short?
For me it’s a real hit or miss sometimes 30 mins feel to short sometimes to long and something just right.
Or is it all personal preference?
Any advice?:)
Thanks so much! I have nav bar in the body of my page and it’s fixed position but the anchor Id links only work when I scroll down in the page
I might, been a while but what’s the issue?
mostly personal Preference, I use 50/10 and it works fine for me, i need that Longer-ish time so i can actually get work done yaknow?
if it feels short then extend the next session time
if you started with a plan of studying 25/5 but 25 feels a bit short
then you can change it to 40/5 for example
after the first session of 25
i do wake up smhw but i get headache and can't focus so useless 😭
take medication no?
bruh
but i can't take pain killers daily
i dont know man
bro what's your sleep schedule if you don't mind telling 👀
these ppl in my class be sleeping for four hours only 😭
Go to sleep at 9:00 PM and wake up at 5:00 AM, but usually i go wake up at 2 AM
i dont like waking up at 2 am
but it is what it is
they dont realise the damage theyre causing to the body, from higher risk of cancer to alzheimers. Sleep deprivation is terrible for you if you have the time. Read Matthew Walkers why we sleep or atleast skim the relevant for you chapters its a great book.
Do you naturally wake up at 2 am?
yup
You could probably go to bed later then no? if your body wakes up at 2 am on its own
I mean i geuss, but if i go to sleep later my body starts hurting and feeling exausted
Weird, I wish I could wake up that early ngl. I really need to get a better schedule
i have to go to my off-campus class now, cya homie
its not that fun
waking up at 2
cant go on runs because people think im a creep
Goodluck!
cant work that early cuz then mental gets thrown out
I get that part yeah, I would just start study instantly after waking up/medications. I do the same with my current schedule it really makes my mental for the day good
I get that also, complete opposite for me so its nice for me
but why do 8 hours of sleep don't feel the same if i take them in segments
idk man 😭
my life is all messed up
Sleep doesnt stack
If you better your sleep you can try to shift your focus to the day/morning
I've tried , didn't work
How long did you try?
uhm
sorry to interrupt
i have a problem,
The thing is, I've been in a failure loop for a really long time & it feels bad.
but
my question is different
it's like,
i have tried to do things better
and they did get better
but the thing is that because i've been losing for so long,
winning is a new thing for me so i easily get kinda excited like "Oh hey i'm doing it..!"
and that instant feeling causes me to "celebrate" too early in my head
and then i mess it up again
how do i just stay emotionless while working so i don't unintentionally fk myself again
i know
this sounds restarded (without s)
The problems is that you need to think that is not easy
ok?
the first day is easy
the second even the third
but in a time you will feel that you are failing
you need to stay calm and tried harder for a few days
if u pass that, it become easier again
You can have habits but at the same, there will be times that u will feel like failing or even fail, but you need to try harder or try again
If u fail 1 or 2 days, then the 3 you need to do it
Is just that
Dont feel bad if u fail
ngl i felt dumb af while writing that stuff
seriously sometimes i just sound so stupid even hearing myself talk makes me feel like i wanna shoot myself in the head fr 💀
but you need to think that you did fail and u need to stay strong and be better
is not dumb, is just one thing that can change everything
I was in a loop for so many years, but then i just change one thing and im good now
im not where i want to, but im in the way
Remember, is not something lineal
hi
howdy
My cat had a sh*t on my fckng carpet man
You ought not plan for lack of sleep, rather you must plan around your sleep.
However, 3 weeks prior to exams cutting down sleep to 6h and incorporating 2 15min naps, then back to 8h the last week before exams has given me good results, allowing me to add an additional 21h of studies without too harsh of health depreciation.
Not sure which help chat to ask for C++? I’ve only taken intro to python & currently in my first semester of two for C++ honestly idk how I’m passing cause I’ll sit at my monitor for hours on end trying to fix projects for the assignment. If anyone could direct me on where to go to ask about programming I’d greatly appreciate it.
Wish I could help, but I'm as tech illiterate as the stereotypical boomer. Good luck👍
You know what sucks having my alarm at a certain time and then sleeping an hour longer
It really kills my motivation to start instantly, Ig I just gotta force myself to start now
If you're sleeping one hour extra its because you ought to go to bed an hour earlier. Your sleep routine migh be the most important one you develop.
So this is more of a general tip for people and maybe this just works for my autistic/adhd brain but, If you are listening to some type of music, sounds or whitenoise etc. while studying when for example using pomodoro try to turn of the sounds in your relax time. You will start to associate the sounds/music with focussing and studying.
Thats true probably yeah, Should fix that
Can somebody help me
Whats up?
Can i dm u
Sure, not sure if I can help but can always try
Thank u sm
Let me know if dms arent open not sure
Hi can somebody help pls
Godspeed
What do you need help with?
Its hard though, Desire to stay up longer to get more done and desire to get up early to get more done
is a never ending battle
Its easier to get in bed, than out of it.
We all have to pick our poison.🤣
Can i dm
For me its quite the opposite sadly, I just have to get better at my sleep schedule tbh

Hey guy's
I am facing a huge problem .... I feel like I am developing mental illness... I want to completely get rid of my mobile addiction as it's destroying me and I can't focus on my engineering studies... Nowadays I see redness in my eyes . Even I feel dizzy.I know it's destroying me mentally as well as physicaly but I still repeat same mistake after a week or so !! I now feel like a drug addict Please give me a solution .. i really need a good advice 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Bro you can't drop your mobile usage to zero in a day like the graph has to go like this 📉📉
You're getting this depressing thoughts because you're doing nothing (studies)
Honestly I have my exams in 6 months and I'm stressed too just plan your days and work accordingly and stick to it. Set a target for the week that I want to get these things done and do it.

i guess you should read more
That’s true, reading a wide array of books can give you a sense of good structure and techniques
will it also help me write essays and different things on the spot
?
Definitely!
You in grade?

i don't feel like studying n my exams are near what should i do??
We don’t always feel like studying or doing what we should do, but we need to do it, so just start doing it.
Sometimes I really don’t want to study, so to start I make a 10 min timer and open my book or whatever I need to study and just stare at it, before my phone ring I’ll start reading a little bit, when the phone ring sometimes I’ll stop it and continue to read then I’ll start studying for real. If you still didn’t want to continue when your phone ring you can have like 5 min break and redo it until you start really studying. In the break make sure you don’t do something fun so your brain will start feel bored and then you’ll be able to study. Sorry if I said so much, hope this will help, and FIGHTING ✊🏽
very cool 💪
Anyone got some tips for me, I have about 80 pages to study and after that gotta practice a lot lot of SQL, someone got advice :)
I tried giving you a wave sticker but it doesn’t work
I’m not proficient in SQL but I know it’s really good for handling structured data. Something that really helps me (which I figured out thanks to software development) when trying to learn something - is to use what I’m learning in as many practical contexts I can think of
For example, instead of trying to retain the knowledge through your studies - you can instead use the information as kind of a reference on where to start as well as (generally) where to go. Then using your own creativity and dedication in applying principles and concepts which eventually becomes the skills which you develop by personalising your learning experience. Essentially catering your learning process to yourself, instead of catering your learning process towards a standardised approach to learning.
In other words, when learning programming for example
It took me years to actually understand programming at all because for the longest time I tried learning to code similar to how I’d study for exams in school.
Eventually though, I figured out a technique which completely changed the way I learnt subjects. I instead skimmed briefly through a chapter or two in the C Programming Language book and just used that as a compass for which direction to go when tinkering and trying to understand the language.
It lead me to learn more about programming in 4 weeks than months of researching theory and concepts
i get very distracted by technology while studying really easily
how do i fix this
Hello guys, i am overwelmed with all those study videos and tehniques and i dont know what to do to be efficient
@upbeat thistle remove your phone from room that you are studying in
connect with other people
In break don't do something fun to distract that might help
Thanks
study ig
guys wat is 1+1

is there anyone dyslexic here studying computer science? cause ive been doing fine but getting shit results bc of it
general advice, I'm really trying to cut back on social media but I can't get over the hunch that makes me feel like I need to be present otherwise I will miss out on something important. those of you who quit social media, how did you cope with this?
Hey! I have quit a few times in the past and eventually went back, but about 3 months ago I got out and I think it is for good. It is definitly hard in the beggining cause i honestly was kind of addicted but eventually not having becomes your new reality. Like I put things like this, I followed a lot of people that honestly I wouldnt say hi passing on the street and that makes zero sense. I watched other peoples lives but that didnt add anything valuable to mine, if anything it added comparison which made me feel bad about myself. Let's be realistic we dont need to see what other people are doing 24/7, I am still in touch with my friends and they will tell me about what they have been doing if they feel like it. I could go on but ye hope this somehow helps
instrumentals are very helpful for me! lyrics can be distracting sometimes
I'm tired man
bruh
Started handwriting letters and keeping better contact with those who I value being in my life. Get comfortable with silence and boredom and being by yourself, physically or in the mind.
is it good if i always study on table lamp light never in sun light?
can someone help me i want to spend all night studying but i always end up saying to myself imma sleep 10 mins and get up but i end up sleeping all night can someone help me to stay awake and study i rlly need help rn
don't let yourself sleep for 10 mins because you're obviously gonna sleep for more than that. When i'm tired I usually just hit my volleyball around for a few minutes until I feel awake and then go study also you shouldn't study for long periods otherwise you're gonna burn yourself out and be even more tired
dude how do i tell my teacher nicely that like the support sessions that have been put on our timetable are geniunely useless to me cuz the support guy is so slow and he only goes over chemistry everytime when my chem grades are fine... and if i just 'dont turn up' im gonna be chewed out by my parents ((and no i cannot have an open conversation with my parents about it they are asian lol))
natural light helps regulate sleep hormones and is good for your overall mood and health so if you can try to get some sunlight!
Hey hi
I think it’s better if you ask the “support guy” first to give more attention to other courses. If you felt nothing change you may talk to your teacher ( i feel don’t till them it’s useless teachers can be sensitive to this word haha). And if nothing change you may fight for your time 😬
I need to double my grades for the next three months and I don’t know how to do… I’ve been getting back to school and rediscover maths / physics. Do y’all have any tips ? For learning I’ve been using Anki primarily… physics is the subject where I am terrible I am so lost since the beginning of the year. I have been getting better in maths, but when the test happens and I read the questions I feel so brain dead 😭😭 how can I organise myself or any tips that could help me, I’ve been watching videos but feel like nothing is happening or working
I have been in your position
You gotta understand that this is a time-taking process
you're not gonna become superman overnight
Ok well
you know what you have to do right?
i mean, You know that you need to fix these problems and you gotta get organized
First of all you gotta calm down
And break everything into bits and pieces so that you can manage things better
You gotta make the list of steps you have to take
even if its the most smallest steps
make an organized schedule
you gotta understand that worrying about the past or the future isn't gonna get you anywhere
The only time that is in your hands is the present moment
And it's going away, Constantly.
You gotta understand that Time is fleeting
So you can't waste time worrying about things
coz it's not gonna help you
@dry crystal Writing things down is a helpful way to organize your problems
(speaking from last year's experience)
You can figure out the stuff you'll have to study for in the next big exam
and make a plan to get some daily work done
so that the work you do everyday collectively adds up and gives you a result in the end
Do not be afraid of the enormity of the task
Just focus on doing the work for today
Deal with each day individually
And so, Day-by-day if you follow your planning for these months
you'll have something better
hello. I'm an english major and currently undergoing an inner conflict over whether i should do writing or computer science, or do both simultaneously since i have passion towards the two. i just fear the pressure i may have to put on my shoulders if i go for both
how would you act in this case, any advice ?
thank you
hey is there any tips you can provide to improve my writing skills ;(
Orientation to majors maybe helpful in your case. At least going through all the modules you have to take during the course of each major to see whether you'll be able to commit to achieve the best possible performance. Also think about which of them you want to professionally pursue as a career.
tbf i too struggle with it often times, however i often just write just for the fun of it, besides academic writing
some tips i would u give u though are to know you know your topic well by accumulating a handful of resources (read others work, watch docs/movies, engage into convos...etc related to the topic)
once that is done, you begin to brainstorm ideas and further organize them through outline (that is what i do most of time)
have a structure in mind; if u were to write an essay, you would normally adopt the regular essay structure (introduction, body, conclusion).
lastly, begin writing by initiating with your first draft
these are just based on my experience with the craft, I'm certain you would find someone out there qualified enough to help you through your journey
anyone has a chegaccount ?
Heyy any tips to understand and memorise anatomy?
I used to connect the word with similar word in my language, or making the long word into a phrase that I can easily remember
I don’t know if this will help you but I wish it does.
whats ur language bro//
hi can somebody help me select a pfp
you can be a computational linguist 🙂 That's a software developer/researcher in area of NLP. Pretty cool stuff, I worked 2.5 years in that area as a software engineer.
Examples are:
- how to find fake stuff based on writing of the person in english language.
- how to find derivates in the language (e.g. you need to find addresses "I live on the street X. My neighbor lives across the street". You have two addresses here, the second is derivative)
- LLM related stuff like ChatGpt (Transformer models). E.g. current research is how to make them think (they do bad at math calculations) instead of just giving facts it learned. Or security: find prompt injections in the text.
You will benefit from your knowledge of english writing.
Had quizzlet, pretty much the same

Hello everyone, I am currently working on a project for my university course, and I need some statistics for it. The project is about the LGBTQ+ community and how teenagers who are part of it don't feel safe in their own countries because of the lack of tolerance and stereotypes. The survey isn't long, and I would really appreciate your help. 🫶

Hi.
i have question to people that are doing part time studies and connecting it with normal 8h job. How are you doing with learning by yourself, are you doing this on free weekends or after job and for how long you trying to stay in learning cycle. Asking mostly IT part but i will be nice to hear it from other courses of study. You can answer here or in private message. Its so important for me.
Hii everyone
done
done
done.
I study while in job cause Im a secretary, so sorry if doesnt help
how am I supposed to be productive if I'm home 24/7 outside of school
I want to start doing spaced repetition and stop scrolling constantly on my phone and wasting my time 😦 what should? Any tips :(?
I am doing my CS masters part time and working as a software engineer full time. It is not that hard, as I only take 2 modules per semester. I finished about 65% of a degree. Also it is mostly about writing scientific papers and doing projects so I dont have to go to uni a lot. I do study early in the morning on some days before the job, or on weekends sometimes. I do my CS masters degree mostly for fun (higher education is free here anyway) as I enjoy learning, and maybe to become an AI researcher in the future and not just a software engineer (i work in AI/ML and Data fields). So go for it, it is not that difficult if you enjoy the field you study 🙂
Are there anybody here that I can ask about the stipendum hungaricum scholarship?
I got an advice on changing up a few questions so here's an edited survey, if you already filled it in you don't have to do it again. Thanks to everyone eho gave me some feedback about it, if you know anyone from LGBTQ+ community please share it to them I need as many asnwers as possible 🫶

hey guys, idk if this is a proper question to ask but ive got exams in 16 days but i cant bring myself to study :( any tips to stop freezing up and wasting time?
wake up very early like at 04:30, go to bed early. you dont feel like procrastinating very early in the morning
also for moving maybe just put moving from where they live bc there can be a lot of diversity even frm town to town in terms of tolerance and what not
wha do you procrastinate on typically, if on youtube, i have some recommendations for things to use that would make it a lot less procrastinatable. List: focus youtube extension, distraction free youtube (DF tube) extention, hide youtube shorts extension, and youtube shorts block extension, you probalbly dont need them all but if your like me maybe you will lol. if something else, maybe use like forest or smthn like that, if on computer theres this app called focalfilter that blocks websites for a period of time, also a plugin called limit i think that can make it so you have limited time on websites, both are completely free.
wait i have an entire paragraph i wrote some times ago imma repaste it here
- Figure out why you are procrastinating: too much work; perfectionism; boring subject; fear of failure etc…
- Take a step back and assess (or reassess) your main goals (the big picture)
- a. If the workload is heavy, break it down to smaller pieces, schedule a specific time to do every single thing (setting 1h to finish an assignment for example will make you go on super focus mode), and take small breaks in between
3.b. perfectionism: “done is better than perfect, because perfect never gets done”. Take the first steps, you can always edit afterwards, but don’t put the expectation so high it paralyses you; no work is perfect. Ever.
3.c. Boring subject: make it a challenge, (time-wise, creativity wise etc…), try to have fun with it, and experiment. - Manage your energy; you can have a boost from caffeine, nourishing foods, cold shower (that wakes you the heck up), fresh air and small breaks.
- Check the basics: having a distraction free (no phone) and dedicated space to study/work: your brain then specialise this area and will automatically know it’s study time (so not your bed, or at least the other side of your bed). Once in a while declutter/ clean that space so your mind is at ease too, and you don’t have an excuse to carry on the procrastination.
- Just start: it’s sometimes the toughest part but once you get into your work/ your project, you get in the mood and complete your task way faster and easier than you expected.
hey thanks it helps, ive just installed one for all apps
hey can anyone help me in waking after a 1 or 2hr nap like how to wake up after naps specialy small naps,it always get to oversleep
thanks man, im mostly afraid of failing but i think that just comes with med school lol
oh ye, med is pretty dam heavy. I think it's like law, you have to ingest alot of knowledge at first, so you def will need a schedule and be organised to not be too far behind/ overwhelmed
Hey guys! I need some help for a study method. (1st year nursing student)
I’ve realized that if I read a text message repeatedly (over some time. Like I’ll read it one day, maybe again 1-2 days later), I can memorize it well. Also, I think it’s mnemonics, but I also remember certain things too. (If I see 1120, I’ll make a mental note of tempering the number as November 20.) or if I see something, I’ll look at it right away, look away, and try to say aloud what I remember before seeing how much I was right. Also, for me, if I’m able to teach it to someone, it means I understand very well what I’ve learned.
I think the study methods that apply to me are Feynman (especially that last part), spaced repetition, drag and drop/memory cards/matching, and blurting? I think flashcards also work for me. I’m also a visual learner, but if you guys can suggest study methods you think can work for me, I’d love to hear them!
PS: Like- I think with memorization/blurting? Not to sound weird, but when I’m in the car, I’ll look at a license plate, see what I can memorize, then look away and mentally or verbally say the plate number to myself, look back at plate to see how much I got correct. That, plus, I’ll sometimes make sayings to remember (mnemonics right?) I think that’s me using the blurting method without even realizing it?
guys pls help
what is the word for when people stop working as the boss stops u for working
ik its starts from r but its not resignation
fired? retired?
nooo its redundant hahaah
i just found out but thank u for helping!
I have a problem with solving math problems or physics equations every time I start a good start and the method is always right, but the solution rarely be right and I always I forgot to add what I separated when I was solving. I always choose the right method but I always get bad marks because this forgetting problem. Any help?
I'm no master but I can do something xd
Revise
and learn about forgetting curve
might be useful for you
Blurting method
had the same problem. I would suggest you to do more questions and try not to zoneout while doin them
Repetition. Spaced repetition. Active recall
hello. i'm feeling as though my cognition is unable to function properly and i can no longer attain information. the worse part is that i cannot hold myself from sitting down to study, even though my brain is in poopoo mode and can barely attain anything.
which is better?
- Studying for 2 hours, with schedule for sleep, eating and work.
OR - Studying for 6 hours without considering abt time, sleep, eating and studying anytime.
these are the only 2 ways i can follow rn
consider sleep and eating
with studying
Theres a app that blocks apps in your phone? like to 8 am to 6 pm but is free to 7pm to 7:30 or something like that
A metal occurs in nature as its ore X wvhich
on heating in air converts to Y. Y reacts
with unreacted X to give the metal. The
metal is :
what will be the answer
for this
options are
1 Hg
2Cu
3Zn
4Fe
im confused between zinc and iron as Zinc fits the description. Zinc ores can be heated to form zinc oxide (Y), and zinc oxide can react with unreacted zinc to produce zinc metal.
Fe (Iron): Iron also fits the description. Iron ores can be heated to form iron oxide (Y), and the reduction of iron oxide with unreacted iron produces iron metal.
how to stick to a study routine?
Hello!! I’m a psychology student working on a social psychology research project. My work is based on the influence of culture on the development of self concept (one’s sense of self). I’m looking for participants from Western countries to fill a survey (and be interviewed) because I need to use data from both collectivistic and individualistic cultures. I’m going to link the survey down below and maybe if you feel like giving an interview would add valuable information for my research, you can let me know and I will interview you;

i have deadlines tomorrow and the following days but fuck i feel so unmotivated
Hey! Is there someone from New Zealand willing to chat about the state exams there? Currently working on a YT show script about exams in different countries, would really appreciate it if you are willing to answer a couple of questions. Thanks!
is it ok if i study on bed where i don't sleep?
maybe u r just overwhelmed with the amount of task u have, try breaking it into smaller tasks, works for me
ye i think its aight, as long as u don't think abt ur work when u r abt to sleep, otherwise u'll experience insomnia
it's not that im overwhelmed, i just get easily distracted nowadays. if i try to start something, my mind just backs out and tells me nope we're not doing this today bitch
welp, ig try to figure out first what distracts u and avoid it cus deadlines ain't gonna adjust for u
or u can do pomodoro
figure it out before it becomes a habit
Yeah. Im organized and finish tasks early by default but for some reason i dont feel like putting in the effort anymore. Maybe im burnt out and i sure am getting a few hours of sleep everyday
there we go, one thing that u can do now is to backtrack what made u burnt out and avoid it, if its smth u can control then u do smth abt it, otherwise u adjust for it.
besides i don't think u can do smth when u r burnt out (?), the way i see it, its like a game where u wait for it to cooldown, but ehh im still figuring it out too, for now im just focused on avoiding getting burnt out
would anyone be down to review one of my University of California application essays/PIQs?
I really need this one to be good
practice practice practice
Pretty sure it's the saturday classes for me
Not enough time to rest
rest physically or mentally? cus sometimes ppl think that they are tired physically when they are just tired mentally, so instead they just sleep and do nothing which is not the best thing to do
when u r tired mentally, better to do things that u love to do or smth that u've been wanting to do
and physically, ig u just gotta find when to do stuff so u can squeeze more sleep time
need to figure out first whether its mental or physical
Anyone that speaks French and could check my short essay ? dm me 🙂

i need to find motivation again tho
just find ur WHYs, motivation will come in ur way, goodluck!!!
some help with 2nd question please ?!

anyone knows how to learn solving 4by4 rubik's cube from begnning ?
Somebody know like an app or a notion page for habits and todo lists?
yes there are many

hey, ty
https://www.habitify.me/
james uses this one
note that theres a paid subscription for that one and i think you can only have a limited number of habits without paying
it could have changed since last time i used it tho
i use one called Focus Habit and its completely free
Hey all, not sure if right channel for this, but does anyone have tips for reducing distractions in life (without becoming a hermit)? Maybe tips, maybe books or resources you can point me to? I don’t mean just for studying, as I’ve just finished a masters and am looking for a job, but in general I feel like distractions are a huge hindrance to my life and if I try to get rid of one, either another pops up or I revert back to the old one. I mean YouTube, twitch, instagram, checking news aimlessly, Reddit, etc etc etc.. I don’t want to be a recluse at all, I have a decent social life and I actually want to grow and improve it if anything (also useful professionally), so I am not sure about just going for the brick phone/no social media at all approach because I live in a big city and this would make it much harder to grow my social life. Thanks! In general, the things I want to stop being distracted from are: self improvement (exercise, learning skills and languages), job hunting, and actually being social, and just enjoying life and living in the moment without the artificial ups and downs of social media and the like
Recently I have been having trouble with time management, could someone please give me advice on how to fix it? A few weeks ago my track season started and I'm having trouble managing school work with it. The past week I think I've averaged at less then 6 hours of sleep daily, I typically come home from school at around 6pm although I often will have to go for volunteering for about 2 hours once a week. All that combined I still have what I feel like should be enough time to finish all my work yet I still end up not being able to start until 10:30 - 11pm and as a result my sleep and grades have been suffering. I only have time to do my homework and am never able to get to anything else. I don't know what to do. Quitting track feels like the most reasonable answer but I don't want to and I know that I will go into the same cycle of procrastination regardless of whether or not I'm playing a sport or not. I feel like I've tried everything. Since September I have been trying to be able to do a few pomodoro sessions daily but I keep failing to do so and often am not even able to study for tests due to how tired I am. I started this week expecting to change but nothing happened.
screen zen
https://selfcontrolapp.com/ for mac.
There are several other apps. The key is to not be able to disable it (or with a lot of effort).
You brain will adjust in couple of days.
Also having a routine helps. When you don't think on what are you going to do next, it is much easier.
And as usual, wake up very early in the morning, that's like the biggest productivity boost you can have. You are not distracted in the early mornings (like 04:30, 05:30 a.m.)
SelfControl is a free Mac app that helps you avoid distracting websites. Block your own access to websites or mail servers for a pre-set length of time.
Well, you could write things down to make plans about your daily schedule
I also had the problem of being too tired to work, but now i'm a lot better coz i just gave myself time to sleep properly.
You can figure it out bro.
If you've got problems to deal with, you can just write down a list of simplified steps to solve your problems.
And when you feel a resistance, remember to "Just Take the next step." Nobody can stop you from that.
Don't worry too much
Sometimes you gotta push yourself to Just Do it.
Meditation has helped me focus a ton and it might help you too. It's super simple also. A good book I'd recommend for learning how and why to meditate is "Real Happiness, the Power of Meditation" by Sharon Salzberg. It allows you to think critically about what you value and what you don't. Congratulations on finishing a Master's Degree btw, that's an amazing achievement.
Is there anyone from Europe over here that I can interview? It will be very brief and it’s based on the effects of globalization on your specific culture
Please dm me if you’re interested!!
who knows the Python programming language Can you help with a couple of topics? or send links to useful resources on YouTube?

real question, if im on a time crunch for an exam (materials engineering) and dont have much time, is it better to understand all the content and likely not have enough time to finish the examples, or briefly skim through the content and then do textbook and practice examples?
I'd say do the examples, and if there are any topics you run into that you don't fully understand in the examples, review the chapter they're in

How to make notes about politics
Umm it's the last month of 2023 and so far yeah I am doing great now
Do you understand Urdu?
if yes then
my answer to your question is
Bas chor de
abhi ka masla nahi hay
is liye irrelevant hay
usne jab teri zindagi mein ana hoga
to wo us time aa jaigi
lekin abhi koi scene nahi hay
to is liye abhi ke liye rehne de
aur agar dil beghairat ho raha ho to
Dil ko maro goli
and also try to reconnect with the present moment
you can do that by meditation
and also by focusing on just listening to the sounds around you
and living in the present moment
No need to think so much
Just let it go.
Let there be a calm silence.

Avoid distraction, exercise your attention with other kind of games, etc.
Also, you ambience is principal
Change your setting and life style
Have a goal ,carve your goal inside your head, calculate your progress,if you have pc or laptop then use that to play music or to be in pomodoro live rather than usiing your phone you can easily get distracted while using mobile phone ,identify if what you are doing is helping you get what you want, try detox,if you are addicted join study vc it will help u alot I used to have 16 hour screen time of games and stuffs now I do have something similar but the difference is I spend all that time on vc to study💪❤️
Hope this helps !
keep it up man!
i got audio recorded and am looking for an ai tool to make a video out of it. relevant footage and subtitles. any recommendations?
hello, i dont know if this question relates or not...but i have couple of queries regarding college life
Tell me about them
so currently im studying Computer science through distance learning at a brick & mortar university...the reason i chose distance mode is because i thought with the flexible timing i will make projects and focus on getting a job...i will also be joining a bootcamp which provides job guaranteed full stack....but im worried that im missing out on friends, parties, memories and girls...Im having extreme FOMO
Well well in short you are confused did you make the right choice or not well at the end of the day it boils down to what do you want, if you want both then you gotta make some compromises and then you will be able to have fun or you can just simply wait and grind through your college life and then you can have fun after that, in the end you should think what is it that you want
idk man...i prolly know what i want but ufffffghhhh...the fomo is hard...ppl say college best time of ur life ,time wont ever come back
Can you do both fun and study at the same time or not
So do this study and grind in week days and try to have fun in weekends
are u talking bout on campus classes?
ur gonna throw bigger parties and get better girls when ur rich
i have gone to several parties and they just become repetitive: get drunk and pass out
Yes yes
sure it helped me alot
as soon as i feel like using my device i goto vc turn my cam and evetually i got to study unconsicously
My apologies if this is a dumb question I googled but still very much confused. So is it possible to do your bs in physics and then ms in mechanical engineering? Iam in class 10 now 16 year old I find astronomy side of physics and robotics side of engineering very cool not good at anything really. I have done very few hands on things mainly I just solve 800 to 900 rating problem on codeforces and tried to make a obstrical avoidance robot using stuff like raspberry pi Pico,hcs04 ultra sonic sensor moter driver and stuff like that (with 0 success......) And only have school experience and one textbook in astronomy I read online when it comes to physics knowledge I can't chose which one to Pick so I was wandering if I could do both my apologies if this is childish and dumb ...

If u wanna do american route get a BS in a good uni, get good gre, and get a masters assistanship stateside
where are you based? and how much are you paying for the bootcamp?
I don't think paying for college + boot camp is ideal when you can learn the materials you do at bootcamps for free.
@white jetty im from Bangladesh and the bootcamp is for 3 months...12 a day....it cost $2000 usd...which may be cheap in European countries...but here its very expensive
