#

hmm, first of all, you can't define transformation of a point with such an equation

#

when you define transformation on 2d plane, you write rules for both coordinates x and y, for example
(x,y) -> (x+2, y-3)

#

How are they going to define transformation with this equation, where you map x to y, idk

#

this is formally incorrect

# frail torrent Does anyone have tips on how to memorize your notes?

Association with images from places you are familiar with works really good.
There is like book on memorization which recommends imagining as you walk in your house/apartment and then associate stuff with familiar items.
Learned 2 foreign languages in similar fashion as well (by simple image association, where you associate one feature from the image that can sound like the word you try to memorize, you have to improvise here though :).

I’m applying to an international school for college. My dream school. Part of the application process includes an interview. Here are the questions I’m told to expect:

  1. Reflect on an idea or experience that makes you genuinely excited about learning.
Here, I can talk about the medical science classes I took in high school, the EMT class I took, and my experience being in an ER and ambulance - both requirements for EMT class.

  2. What are some significant life lessons you have learned and values you hold dear that somehow define who you are?
I’ll have to look deep within this one.

  3. What does it mean “to make a difference?”
This is the hardest for me.

Anyone got any college interview tips? Serious answers only please. Thank you guys!

How does it feel when you tell your parents you have adhd but they blame you for your repeated academic failures, remind you about them and tell you 'adhd' is another excuse just like their failing marriage impacting you was ?

I knew about my adhd since 2019, but i was escaping it as i was scared of it. Then a lot of shit happened. And now when i disclosed to my parents, they think i am using it as an excuse to appear in my medical school entrance exam once again. It's crazy how i have been knocking on a closed door for years, don't learn my lesson and keep coming back to it because it is 'my home'. Crowns don't have home, they just have to shine. 🙂

When I was doing this (college in another country which I got accepted and studied) I highlighted previous experiences and side-projects to what major I was applying to.
My major was CS, so I referenced projects I did.
It is also important to read school policy and general attitude towards certain topics and try not to raise any red flags.

Basically what they want to know is that you actually successfully accomplish your studies and you will fit well with other students.

I'd suggest to try to learn cloud infrastracture, since you are already know some webdev. Because most companies now do require from devs to know at least some cloud engineering to actually set up and deploy projects. Things like infrastructure-as-code. Some companies split devs and devops people, but nowadays they want both in one person.
There are ton of videos on youtube, but I'd suggest just reading documentation (e.g. of aws -> biggest cloud provider).

young umbra
analog geyser
# young umbra i didn't know what cloud infrastracture was but i found this course online do yo...

It is GCP (Google Cloud), one of the three major cloud providers. I would choose AWS, because it is the biggest player, hence a lot of jobs require knowledge of AWS.
You can start here:
https://aws.amazon.com/getting-started/hands-on/build-serverless-web-app-lambda-apigateway-s3-dynamodb-cognito/

analog geyser
# young umbra thanks

anytime.
Just today I put a bot i wrote on my AWS infrastructure. It generates daily some random tech/programming facts/advices with AI and sends it to discord server.
Once you have some knowledge on the cloud, it is pretty easy to actually build stuff and deploy. Good thing, for small projects it costs nothing.

Meditation can help with that. Like not in the sense that you meditate when you are thinking too much, but in the morning as a habit, it can be like a training to empty your mind... and anyway it makes you more peaceful and in control in general. But it can take a little time to do efficient meditations. And some ppl can't bring themselves to meditate too lol, myself some days I only do 2 minutes to keep the habit

well dependant on how important your grades are i think you should gauge off that man

if grades make or break your future, sacrifice your personal interests temporarily and focus on studies

put it on a back burner

then start getting back to it once the education grind eases off

I'm sure you know what's best, it can take a little bit of imagination but you can do a lot of things with good and consistent habits. If it's important to you or for your future/comfort in regard of your parents then it can be a good idea to do a little more efforts for your grades. You don't have to be #1 unless it's important to you (be honest and true to yourself, you got this 💪👍)

# young umbra what do you think now? <@742811183970517112>

There's a lot of ppl that are very creative and active until their last breath and I don't feel they are exceptions, I think it's a question of choice, the first choice being how you think about your life. Then you can choose to spend your life learning, improving, having fun, looking for solutions and going for what you truely want, taking care of yourself, or spend it complaining, beign afraid, just getting by... For me these things influence way more the decrease of cognitive levels and diseases, even though it's probably not the only factors

What do you think?

also think it is right to exclude the will from statistics

In my personal opinion, JEE does give a LOT of options. If not Advanced, then at least Mains. NITs and IITs open a wide field not just into the field of engineering, but also, life in general. From hostel life to managing events, there are a lot of options to explore. You'll definitely find people like yourself who might be passionate for sports in all engineering colleges. It's kind of sad and yet beautiful, that the realisation of what people reallllyyy wish to do comes in college. If you wish to stick to engineering, you'll find a good job through placement. If you wish to find a job in marketing/finance/consulting, you'll find a job through placements. If you wish to switch to switch to some artistic field, you might find some or the other alumni connection.

daring vortex
royal field
#

yes. i finished the algorithms course just this semester. i finished the rust book, now i am doing the rustlings

daring vortex
royal field
#

i don't know anything specific about low latency systems and c++

daring vortex
royal field
#

some companies switch to rust to handle large loads that JS or even Go can't handle

daring vortex
#

Yeah, but c++ is also great to handle large loads

daring vortex
royal field

the good thing about learning rust is that everything is contained in the same place

everyone starts with the book

i read a few introductory programming books and this is by far the best one

daring vortex
#

Thanks, ✨

royal field
#

one more thing

daring vortex
#

Yep

royal field
#

just read the book without trying your hardest to understand everything. you'll be familiar with the syntax and get used to the concepts

daring vortex
#

Okie

royal field
#

don't forget about the rustlings course

daring vortex
#

whats that

royal field
#

it's an interactive course that you install and use it with terminal

#

there are rust programs with some errors

#

syntax errors or semantic errors etc.

#

you fix the errors and the programs tests it. you move on if you pass it

#

it follows the book structure

daring vortex
#

so my study plan should be to learn all the basics from "The book" and then rust from rustlings course

royal field
#

yeah. you can do them side by side too

royal field
#

but all the resources you need is the ones in the rust website

daring vortex
#

so it will be a little easy to learn it

royal field
#

there are some other books but they are a bit advanced. you don't need them rn

daring vortex
#

hm

#

thank u

royal field
#

np. it's really fun. enjoy the learning

daring vortex
#

yeah

daring vortex

i'll try advent of code first. maybe a little bit leetcode too but i am not planning to "grind" that much

Hello friends, good evening (at least, it's night here). I would like to know which device, platform, or app you use to create long-term schedules (such as for a year or a month). Next week, I'll begin studying for a very extensive exam and it will take me something like three years to cover all the subjeticts. Therefore, I'm looking for a tool that can help me visualize the overall plan without requiring too much time for planning, as I should primarily focus on studying.

#

Sorry if in some point i was not clear in my english, im still learning how to write better

silver zephyr
#

@slate wolf in my experience it is better to make use of multiple platforms because you'll find that longer projects (in time) will have way more variables than we can account for with a singular platform

#

i'm just gonna use the MCAT for example

#

and for simplicity i'll stick with two components

  1. content
  2. scheduling
#

the best way to go about doing this would be by using a separate platform for each task

#

but if you must, then you'll probably find better success with notion or obsidian

#

from what little i know about notion, there's much better support for integrated calendars, or its own functional calendar system, and you also have a pretty decent note organization system to keep track of the content

#

obsidian has no specific structure, but the mechanics of the software allow you to do pretty much anything with it, so you may find yourself creating your own calendar system and/or notetaking system

#

as for visualizing, i think you would be better off drafting a general idea of what you want on paper, and then translating it to either software

#

in notion, you'll have specific templates that you can work with/create

#

and in obsidian you can make use of either the graph view (which can be ineffective) or make use of the canvas feature

#

sorry for not getting to the point yet btw

#

^^ok ignore everything above if you'd like^^

#

i don't have anything to offer that will be very valuable if your primary concern is time and simplicity

#

i find that 2-3 days of dedicated planning is pretty necessary for long term projects, and usually you'll find more factors that you haven't considered

#

so that may or may not be helpful

slate wolf
# silver zephyr so that may or may not be helpful

Very helpfull, thank you, i hadn't heard about obsidian yet. Notion is a little trick but yes, it may worth, as you said. I may have to structure it so i can see the week, the month and the more long term goals in diferente pages.

Then i will teach the 6 skills that will rlly take their grade to the next level:
Self teaching, reasoning, critical thinking, planning, empathy and perspective, creating questions.
After that im thinking this is how study during summer break will go:
Everyone gets like 2 subjects, and the goal is to learn them and then teach others, on top of that habits will be built, like daily reading, weekly math etc. This is my early plan. What do yall think? What should i change, improve or add, is there anything i should think about?

# oak cedar Hello anyone have any tips for being more energetic in the morning?

Your body and brain wakes up by 3 things:
Its rested (good nights sleep)
Core temperature increases. This can be done be physical exercise or a rlly good one, cold shower. Because the cold forced your body to warm up. And i mean shower, stuff that gives u a shock, not just some face water splash.
By having the eyes see sunlight u activate the circadian rythm, which in basic terms is like putting a timer that tells ur body: from 10-14 hrs from now i will sleep and i need to wake up because the sun is out (evolution stuff)
Caffiene and the other stuff kinda "hacks" the brain and is recomended atleast 1 hr after u have woken. Cuz it can rlly mess u up

young umbra
young umbra
# oak cedar how do i make that strong...? 🤔

Train it, for example will power is the ability to do what something that what ur feelings are telling u. It doesnt only have to be work related, for example buying ur fave snack and putting it on ur table, it requires willpower to not eat it. But the actual best is isometric holds. Basically holding a physically straining position for a long time. Like hollow hold 100 secs. Have perfect form with feet pointed and that will rllyrlllyrllly need will power and full focus

young umbra
# young umbra I recently had my first set of exams and did poorly in the exams of which I was ...

Personally i think the problem here is that u actually partly expected bad results. Like you had no confidence in success. If you KNEW that u were gonna ace it, then why be worried. Be surprised but by thinking even partly of failure or believe that u wont get high marks will stop u. Ur brain wont go beyond what it actually thinks is possible. So next time have more confidence and belive more: "i studied my ass off and with QUALITY, no shit im gonnna ace this exam. I have basically already aced it, i just need to prove it to my teachers."- thats how i think.
But dont use this confidence as an excuze to not study hard. It should come from knowing that u studied hard, not from thinking that ur are an genius just because!

maybe this advice will help 🙂
it is called overfitting, similar to how neural networks work. When trained too much on the data, they can answer good only to this exactly specific data and when data changes even a little bit it breaks.
You see the similarities to the brain.
they way to solve this is to sometimes to do new stuff in your routine, so when routine changes, brain is flexible enough to adjust.

Hello, I want to ask - I have an exam on the 27th. I also have a lot of material that I need to cover. Right now, I am doing practice questions. I feel like practice questions aren't enough for the exam. Am I doing the right thing here, doing practice questions instead of going through the material?

*Note: when doing practice questions, if I made a mistake or get a question wrong, I study the material for that specific question.

# fluid fulcrum any advice on how to be the valedictorian of your school?

Im not at that stage yet. But from what i understand it is people who are exceptionally good at something/ some things but also have the ability to be recognized. Like imagine if you had almost top grades, but you knew all the teachers and basically everyone loved you. Ik it is a bad example. What i want to point out is that it isnt enough to just be good, you also need recognition.

I made a python table to csv extractor. I integrated my python code into html by pyscript. Now i want to use the fileURL from JavaScript to input the user selected file from drag box into python code in html. How do i do that???
the file selected by user is read in fileURL variable in a .JS file. But i want to use that fileURL in the .HTML file where my python script is stored

#

basically the pdf file i selected was an image pdf, i.e, no text was selectable. That ment i could only use visual based libraries like tesseract. Which was out of the picture as it was getting hard for me to integrate tesseract OCR with existing text extracting and tabuation libraies like tabular and pdfminer. So i pass all PDF irrespective of them being scanned or text based, to be converted into a new pdf that is text based. This new pdf is then taken to a diffirent function where the text is extracted and then to a third function where the data extracted is turned into a table which popps out a CSV file
tried it and it wokrs. Now have to integrate it to a websire
the only issue is
I made a python table to csv extractor. I integrated my python code into html by pyscript. Now i want to use the fileURL from JavaScript to input the user selected file from drag box into python code in html. How do i do that???
the file selected by user is read in fileURL variable in a .JS file. But i want to use that fileURL in the .HTML file where my python script is stored
i imagine i would have to delete all of the JS data after each reload as There can only be only file in the python code after the first process (scanned pdf to txt pdf) with the name "scanned.pdf"

First of all, you should know that being good at math is not doing good calculations, that's what calculators are for. Being good is being able to answer many why's. So my method is as follows:

  1. Read the topic and understand it well. Ask yourself and answer as many questions as you can, understand the logical meaning behind what you are doing.
  2. Make yourself summary cards with the things you should remember. Imagine you have an exam tomorrow. What should you know?
  3. Practice EVERY DAY. This will be what will define your agility with numbers.

# neat bolt Is there anyone that is willing to chat real quick on how they found a career th...

I think it is important to think about what you want and what is good. It is also cool that you have considered it now, it is one of the top big decisions in life, so it is better not to screw it up because fixing it will require a lot of effort.

What is good:
I chose my career (software engineer) because I did not want to be tied to one country. This is a serious problem for people who are not born in rich and stable countries. It is also a problem for people in rich countries if they want to see the world outside their country, I mean live and work abroad for several years.
For example, if you choose something like law, you are bound by the national law of your country, so it is very hard to see the world except for vacations or remote work (the latter is complicated because of taxes). For software developers, it is basically pick a country and go to work, because everyone needs them these days.
I emigrated from my country and studied abroad. Now I work there. Best decision ever.

What you want:
This career suits me because it is peaceful most of the time. No drama. Great for introverts (unless you go into management).

If you have any questions, let me know!

Rather than waiting for grand occasions, celebrating life begins by appreciating the small, everyday moments. Finding joy in simple pleasures like a warm cup of coffee, a beautiful sunset, or a heartfelt conversation with loved ones can fill our days with happiness.

Ik this is kinda late but I recently have made a decision that I think I want to do something in Analytics. I dont think me working hard will be a problem since Ive always been able to put my head down for school work. But for whatever reason I just saw what the Business Analytics is at my college, and saw all the tracks leading me to research it and looking into and seeing how interesting it is. Its not so math heavy (I wanted to major in math lol) so I should be able to do well with the mathematical components in it since I find it really simple. It also seems to be very problem "solvey" I enjoy solving problems and think its cool that I could help a business (Or solve a problem for anythign really) improve profit/operations from my work. I also like how you need to communicate alot to reach out, and I think its cool since I like to see myself as a social butterfly. I really do think Ive found what I want to do as a career (Sort of????, I actually plan to get a job in this and work for a few years and save money up to start a business with my best friends while we use our college education to 1 improve our business profits and expansions, and aswell as looking for other financial endeavours. This all arose from our close friendship and want to be financially free, and we all want to live together and really grind to make our monetary dreams work together). Thank you for you advice. I really wanted to do something that would 1 not being mundane and boring since the outcome is solving a problem or showing a broader people to someone who wouldn't understand the data in a business without someone who is analytically literate. I also like that It seems to be a career that is needed everywhere so theirs alot of chances for remote jobs so that It would be possible for me to move and live somewhere that me and my best friends could start our business. Alright let me leave my VERY long appreciation for how you found your career. I thank you again for the advice.

i get what u mean. but honestly, it's ok to still not know what to do with ur life. take time 2 think and choose something u really like is much better than rushing and deciding something just because u feel pressured by society or other people. it's also ok to change paths and pursue other things. life is all about learning, growing, and exploring. sometimes we don't even know how much we'll enjoy or be passionate about something until we've actually gotten a chance to try it out. so def take ur time to think and to plan, and to pursue ur own path in life.

small pewter
# vital sail also I'm undecided since i can imagine myself in every field that i want to take...

and don't feel bad for feeling like that way, it's completely normal to feel overwhelmed and to struggle with making decisions. it's scary to make such important decisions about ur future. so it's ok to feel hesitant and to be unsure about ur future. take your time and keep exploring ur possible paths. rmb that u don't have to make the perfect choice, and that it's ok to make mistakes and to change ur mind. life is all about experimenting and finding what makes you feel happiest and most fulfilled. you'll figure it out

leetcode
Try to solve those (there are videos explaining each solution):
https://neetcode.io/practice

Those are the most common questions of FAANG type interviews.
Leetcode is also very popular among competitive programmers, there are weekly and biweekly challenges.

I solved about 250, mostly mediums. Was fun as a hobby for couple of months.

Python is the most popular language on leetcode I think, because it is way easier to solve graph and array problems with it.

This youtube guy is great. He solved a lot of leetcode, recorded it, applied to google and passed all the algo interviews.
After watching those videos and solving like 250 mediums, I also applied to Google, went through full loop with 5 interviews, got all "hire" except one interviewer and got rejected (you have to get all "hire" from all interviewers). Still it was fun.

# wary nest Hello guys, I have problem about making a plan. Like i try make a plan but still...

u can start by defining your goals. use the SMART goals. This will provide clarity and direction for your plan. then, determine the more important and urgent tasks or goals. Prioritization helps you focus on what needs to be done first and avoid feeling overwhelmed. Consider the impact and deadline of each goal to help you prioritize effectively.
then allocate specific time slots for your tasks and goals. Create a schedule or time chart that includes regular work hours, study time, personal time, and any others. Be realistic with your time allocation and consider your energy levels and productivity patterns throughout the day.
u could also regularly review your plan and make adjustments as needed. Life is dynamic, and priorities may change. Stay flexible and adapt your plan accordingly to ensure it remains relevant and effective.

small pewter
# edgy hawk anyone know how to insert row (spacing row) every *nth* row in excel ?

select the entire row where you want to insert the spacing row. You can click on the row number on the left side to select the entire row..
then, right-click on the selected row and choose "Insert" from the context menu. This will insert a new row above the selected row.
then, repeat the above steps for every nth row where you want to insert a spacing row. For example, if you want to insert a spacing row after every 5th row, you would select the 5th, 10th, 15th, and so on, rows and insert a new row above each of them.

# vagrant wolf Hi guys, first time being here, can i ask for some tips to learning vocab as I r...

expose yourself to a wide range of vocabulary. Choose books, articles, or blogs on topics that interest you. This will help you encounter new words in context, which aids understanding and retention
or
keep a vocabulary journal(this is how i used to learn malay) Mmaintain a vocabulary journal or notebook to record new words and their meanings. Write down words you encounter while reading or during conversations. Review your journal regularly to reinforce your learning!
or
u can use flashcards or vocabulary apps like Anki, Quizlet, or Memrise to practice and review new words. These tools often utilize spaced repetition, which presents words at intervals optimized for memory retention.
or
Use more new words in your own sentences or engage in conversations that allow you to practice using the vocabulary you've learned. This active engagement helps reinforce your understanding and retention of the words. it helps me too

regularly review the words you've learned to reinforce your memory. u can even try to schedule dedicated time for vocabulary review in your learning routine

Sup, guys. So, I'm having difficulties of organizing my studies and the way I'm studying.
I've tried some study methos as pomodoro (I've tried it 3 times before)and looks like it makes me more tired than the classic method.

Should I ban video games from my routine? I mean, I play it once a week (if I'm not full of things to do).

I've watched a lot of videos on youtube to solve this problem, however I just can't solve it. I'm literally not dumb when learning a subject, however the routine became my worst enemy on highschool.

# livid wadi Sup, guys. So, I'm having difficulties of organizing my studies and the way I'm ...

Ok i won't tell you to try watching x,y and z videos as if you're watching some you probably already came accross them (but in case you didn't or anyone else would need them in organisation and how to study you can check Thomas Frank, Matt D'Avela, Nathaniel Drew or Ali Abdaal) that's what first came to mind.
And then I thought about a video I saw some time ago in which the guy was explaining the moment in the day when you work is very important, your concentration will be at its best either the morning or the afternoon maybe this has to do with your tiredness. For me I tried waking up at 8, start at 9, doesn't work, so I start later, but instead stopping at 18, I work until 22. You need to find your peek moments.
Then I realise this will not be so easy during school time but studying's really your top interest you got to manage your time. Let's say you work best in the morning but need to sleep early, try getting you worktime in the morning instead of evening. If you work best in the afternoon, if have empty hours between classes, instead of killing time, try going to the library to work.
Also you know yourself better than any strangers on the internet or productivity youtubers, if you feel like something's not working, ask yourself what would work better. Some people say pomodoro is not that good for them because if the alarm rings the time of the break they'll lose their focus. Maybe try pomodoro but with longer timers, work 2h take a 15 minutes break or 20.

All of that said, I'm not an expert, in the past I probably spent more time watching productivity videos than being productive.

For video games, that's a you choice, hate to admit it but I personally couldn't make games and study work together.

Hi guys.
I (M, 21) am in 3rd year of medschool and i'm feeling very overwhelmed by social media and having to look at my phone so much.
I would classify what i have as an addiction. It does not affect my social life or my love life, but it affects my health (lots of headaches, forget to drink water, some days i stay in bed all day looking at memes/tik toks) and my studying (i want to study more than i do, but spending time on my smartphone feels so much better and rewarding for the moment).
I was thinking about getting a second phone, like one of those with buttons, just for texting/calling but idk if it's a good idea. Does anyone have a second phone? Does it work? Or does anyone have any productivity tips for my problem?
P.S. : I can't just throw away my current phone, i need to stay connected to facebook/whatsapp/other apps because that's where i get notified about university/family news.

#

P.P.S. : I currently have installed on my phone an app that makes the display simplistic and some apps remain hidden. It works, but not as well as i want it to work.

# daring forum Hi guys. I (M, 21) am in 3rd year of medschool and i'm feeling very overwhelmed ...

First of ,you could start with deleting social media apps. Second, depending on the type of phone you´re using, you could use a "child lock" for specific apps. I mean friends or family could enter a password which would restrict you from using them. Similar to what you´re already using. You could also seek help from a psychologist/ med. doctor. The symptoms could also come from things like adhs, depression, burnout? idk. You may try to use it a bit less every day. Put a timer on. Give yourself special times through the day to use the apps. Turn your phone off when you study....

# daring forum Hi guys. I (M, 21) am in 3rd year of medschool and i'm feeling very overwhelmed ...

If you're on android, I recommend setting a timer on each app that seems to be distracting or addicting to you.
I tried it last year and it seems to be working fine for me (since I can't delete the apps because of communication &, updates purposes).
Set the timer for 10 minutes on each of them or it depends on you. After the timer ends you won't be able to use that app again until 12:00AM.

Or you can just use the Focus Mode feature. What I did is I put my focus mode to turn on every Monday to Friday from 8AM-12PM because that's the time I will be studying daily. I didn't turn it on early like 7am because I would check my messages and other updates. Then in the afternoon it's when I can use my phone.
Idk if it can make multiple schedules though. But you can just manually turn it on and off. This feature won't let you open the apps you selected but if you press an application, there will be a pop up message that you can "Use the app for 5 minutes" in case of emergency or idk.

Two of those features can be found in the settings of an android phone. Not sure abt it though but it's on my android phone

Also try to ask yourself first why you want to use ur phone or what's your purpose of using it. I do it sometimes, just simple mindfulness can actually save you a lot of time. And don't forget to reward yourself after you've finished a set of study sessions to keep you going.

So just to let you know, I'm just 15 so I'm just writing this based on my experiences that worked for me.

Hi guys.
I (M, 18) have messed up my entrance exam and currently enrolled in 2nd tier univ in my country majoring in computer science, I want to ask how influential university's prospect in terms of future career as an engineer? I felt like I can't get a good networking, prospect, and growth environment in my current uni. Is it worth to chase a top college next year in majoring of computer science? I'll take semi gap. if that's happen I will be graduated at 23 / 24 years old, what do you think about this?

Choosing a uni can totally impact ur future career as an engineer. Top-tier schools have awesome networks and opportunities. You can rub shoulders with experts, score cool internships, and get help finding jobs. But rmb, it's not just about the name. Look for great education, chances to grow personally, and consider the cost. Don't forget, there are other paths to success too. maybe u can talk to some advisors who can give you personalized advice. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide if chasing a top college and taking a semi-gap year is worth it.

In terms of interviewing for a job, no. Companies don't really care, even top companies won't even look at your bachelor degree as long as it's in CS.

Networking? Yes, absolutely. I can imagine that people from Stanford University have more opportunities as entrepreneurs than other students.

But to answer your question, no, it is not worth chasing next year. At least in my opinion. You will lose a lot of money but not graduating earlier. For example, if CS dev makes 100k and you graduate a year later, that's 100k loss.

Hey, I totally get how ur feeling right now. It's tough to bring yourself to study, esp when you're overwhelmed and the exam is just a couple of days away. Trust me, you're not alone in this. Sometimes, the pressure and anxiety can get to us. maybe u can try break down your study material into smaller, more manageable chunks. and also create a schedule to give yourself some structure and set specific study times. Get rid of distractions, like turning off notifications on your phone or finding a quiet place to study. and then start with the easier subjects or topics to warm up, and then gradually move to the more challenging ones. also, instead of just reading passively, engage actively with the material by taking notes or summarizing concepts in your own words. Practice with past exams or sample questions to get familiar with the format. And don't forget to take breaks!! You've got this! Just take it one step at a time. Good luck with your exam!nevergiveup_static

For immigration purposes (e.g. to EU, USA etc.), the prestige of your country's university usually does not matter at all as long as it is official governmental university.

And anyway, it is pretty easy to find a job abroad if you are a developer. Most of my friends have done so, and they are not from top-tier universities. It was never an issue.

I myself emmigrated from my original country (via studies) to a 1st world country and I can tell you, nobody cares about prestige of university in CS.

When he gets older, he will appreciate it or forget about it. Vaping/smoking is a serious and dangerous drug addiction, nicotine is no joke. It is very hard to quit and many people have no control over it. The best thing you could do is to suggest (buy, gift) to read the most famous book on smoking / vaping quitting: The Easy Way to Quit Smoking by Allen Carr. It is okay to smoke before you finish the book, and people generally stop smoking after reading it.

Usually people do not like other people discussing them when they are not around. It will pass, though.

@nova leaf try setting some clear goals first? Make 'em achievable and know where you're headed. and then create a daily study schedule. Having a routine will make it easier to stick with it. Start small and work your way up. u can start with short study sessions at first, then you can go for longer ones later. rmb to keep things organized, so you don't waste time searching for stuff.

#

And ofc get rid of distractions. Turn off notifications and find a quiet andcomfy spot to study. or u can also find a study buddy in #study-buddies channel, it'll prob keep you in check. rmb to track your progress too, to see how far you've come. Stay focused, stay motivated, and rmb why you're studying in the first place. And don't sweat it if you miss a day, just bounce back the next. You got this! hey I am a student studying in b-tech 1st year in a tier 3 college in India, the thing is that I don't like the fact that I am in a tier-3 college ,its not like I don't have friends ,I actually have pretty good friends but the thing is that I feel like the work I put in to get into top colleges just did not pay back. I used to sleep for only about 4hrs and study as much as I could but I did not even qualify the exam, now there was an another exam ,the result of which decides the private institution in which you get to study and the courses you can do, i barely passed that exam with the worst rank my family has ever seen, the consequence is that my father had to pay 11lacs for me to get into the college in which i am currently pursuing my degree, we did not have that kind of money so we had to arrange money from here and there and from relatives and we somehow managed to pay the money. Now there clearly is a financial problem in my family bcz of this and everytime i see my family fighting(related to money, how to save and stuff) i blame myself and indeed i am the reason. Now i want to buy my father a car as a gift but have no idea how to get so much money in a short period of time, my father is also getting old and looking at him taking difficult options of doing things to save money kills me from inside, Now coming to the point ,being from a tier-3 college where honestly speaking i can code better than my teachers, how can i dream that i can get into a company that gives me the money to buy father a car, nowadays the fact that he is getting old is also troubling me and i just cant do anything at the moment, kinda frustrating. I dont know what replies i will get for this if any but just speaking my mind out.

If I don't get in this year ill prob pursue something else. and trust me I would take 4hrs of sleep and a lil bit misery over doing something I didn't plan on doing. And don't take this the other way I just mean that you don't realize how many people dream to have what you already do. and for your father and growing part, it's natural. you will get him a car, one day, one way or another. Ik it must silly coming from me as I am not in your situation but trust me, it will get better. I am so proud of you for making it to 3rd tier and not leaving it in the middle. Math can be tough. I Struggle with it too! and it's normal to feel anxious before exams. Don't be too hard on yourself for making mistakes, it happens to everyone. The key is to stay positive and practice as much as you can in the next month. Work on understanding the concepts step by step and focus on the areas where you struggle the most. Don't hesitate to ask for help from teachers or friends if you get stuck on something. Also, try doing some practice tests to build your confidence. First of all, don't be too hard on yourself for not getting into the top colleges. Sometimes, life doesn't go as planned, but that doesn't define your worth or potential. Rmb, success is not solely determined by the college you attend. And it's tough when you see your family fighting over money because of the college fees. But hey, it's not all on you🫂 Your family made the decision to support you, and they believe in you. It's not just about the college you're in,it's about what you do with the opportunities you have.
Buying your dad a car is such a sweet idea, but don't stress yourself out to get a ton of money real quick. Take it easy. You know you're good at coding right, so take that advantage. Even if you're in a tier-3 college, that doesn't mean you can't make it big in the job market. Companies are interested in talent, not just fancy college names. Build up your portfolio, network, and grab internships or freelancing gigs to gain some experience.
and also, don't let your dad's age worry you too much. Spend quality time with him, show him love, and support him. Life is unpredictable, and all we can do is make the most of it. It's okay to feel frustrated and uncertain, but trust me, you've got the potential to make things better. Stay positive, keep pushing forward, and believe in yourself. You have the potential to create a bright future for yourself and your family.

# cursive helm is there a difference between oxidation state and formal charge? if yeah, is the...

i think theres a difference. Oxidation state (also called oxidation number) is the hypothetical charge an atom would have if all its bonds were purely ionic. It helps us keep track of electron transfer in chemical reactions. On the other hand, formal charge is the actual charge an atom carries in a specific molecule when electrons are shared unequally. So, they serve different purposes. for exp, let's consider the nitrogen atom in the compound NO2. In NO2, the oxidation state of nitrogen is +4, as it "gains" 4 electrons to complete its octet. However, the formal charge of nitrogen in NO2 is +1, as it has 1 more valence electron than it "ought" to have. So, in this case, the oxidation state and formal charge of the nitrogen atom are different. Hope that clears it up!

Congratulations on your new graphic tablet! For writing and note-taking on your Mac, there are some great apps to consider.
One popular choice is Notability, which offers a smooth writing experience and allows you to import images and annotate PDFs.
GoodNotes is another fantastic app with various paper templates and excellent organization features.
If you prefer a minimalist approach, Bear is a easyto use app for writing and note taking.
For a more collaborative platform, try Microsoft's OneNote alternative, Notion, which allows you to create versatile pages with various media elements.
see which one suits your needs and style best!

it sounds like ur going thru a difficuly and stressful time atm, and i understand why u might feel hopeless. ur taking some great steps to fix things! Going for the Coursera course for Google Data Analytics is awesome, it can open up new job opportunities. Don't worry about cars and travel, lots of people deal with motion sickness anxiety. Maybe try online counseling to work thru it? And keep applying for remote work, the job market is changing, and there are plenty of remote options out there. although im no expert, but i think depression can make an impact on ur speaking abilities and general communication skills. But hey, don't be too hard on yourself, it's just a symptom of what you're going through, and it doesn't define who you are. nevergiveup_static
If you can, consider talking to a mental health pro. They can offer support and help you work through this. In the meantime, try starting with small talk in social settings. joining support groups might help too, it gives you a safe space to practice conversation. or just try to start conversations with ppl u know, or trying out diff topics when ur talking. And rmb it's totally ok to take social breaks when you need them.
dont forget to look after urself, get plenty of sleep, exercise and eat good meals. it will help u feel more confident and and in control when talking to other ppl. lastly, be patient with urself and forgive urself if u make mistakes or get anxious during conversations. everyone has difficulties now and then, ur not alone in this, and u can improve with practices!

I found out that people generally like to talk about themselves so I usually ask them a lot of questions. Also great way to learn something new. Like today I met new person who works in cybersecurity so I asked bunch of questions about it. You could try to do something like that. They will do the talking and you might learn something new. It is easier than trying to come up with mutual interesting topic to talk about 🙂

well slumps happen to the best of us, but you can totally overcome it! and its great that uve signed up for morning classes and have been able to attend them in the past.
First things first, don't be too hard on yourself. It's okay to have off-days. its ok to have days like these every now and then. Try to get some good rest, maybe go to bed a bit earlier if possible. Set a consistent wakeup time. or why dont u try to set ur alarm abt earlier, instead of putting so much pressure on urself to get up a certain time.
As for studying and to do lists, start small. Break tasks into tiny, manageable chunks.. It's all about building momentum. And don't forget to take short breaks when you need 'em. You got this! Take it one step at a time, and things will start falling back into place. You're stronger than you know.

# robust dove Hey, idk i need help to get out of this slump. I signed up for morning classes, ...

I took early classes last semester too. They started as early as 8:30am. Here's what I did and hope it helps you. I slept at 11:30pm every-night and woke up at 6:30am (7hrs), squeezed an 1 hr study sess for my morning classes (30 mins each reviewing what was to be taught that morning). By 2:40pm I was home from school putting away all my tech gadgets and squeezing another 1hr/2hrs nap. From 5pm to 10:30 I studied. By 11pm I was showering ready for bed I sometimes read a book and stopped to sleep at exactly 11:30pm. Since I woke up and slept at a consistent time my body was naturally tired at 11pm so sleeping wasn't an issue and waking up wasn't either because I napped to make up the sleep I lost during the night.

# slow bronze So i tried working out but damn i feel faint. Any tips to prevent fainting?

make sure you're properly hydrated and have eaten enough before exercising! Dehydration and low blood sugar can contribute to feeling faint. Second, don't push yourself too hard, especially if you're just getting back into it. Start with lighter exercises and gradually build up. Also, take short breaks between sets to catch your breath. If you start feeling dizzy or lightheaded, sit or lie down, and drink some water. Listen to your body and don't hesitate to take a break if you need to. And of course, if the problem persists or worsens, it's best to consult a doctor

small pewter
# rare spade how to not tire

make sure you're getting enough quality sleep each night, aim for 7-9 hours. Avoid caffeine and heavy meals close to bedtime to improve sleep quality. Stay hydrated throughout the day, as dehydration can make you feel tired. Take short breaks during the day to stretch and move around. Avoid sitting for long periods, get up and walk around every hour. Lastly, try to manage stress through relaxation techniques like deep breathing or meditation.

# robust dove thats what i try to break down my sleeping hours, but sometimes while doing work...

me being committed to my time, braking my work into manageable chunks and prioritizing each tasks is what got me through last semester. Sometimes is good to break the flow if y'know is not going to help in the morning. If I continued to work on something that wasn't due in the next day at night I sacrificed my sleep and I paid a price by dozing off in class lol. So yes prioritize the things/tasks that need immediate attention (I call mine a must-do-list, something I need to do today! not tomorrow.

It's awesome that you're all about deep work now. If you're not sure what to focus on, don't worry, there are loads of possibilities. Do you have any hobbies or things you've always wanted to learn? Maybe it's playing an instrument, getting better at a sport, or diving into creative stuff like writing or drawing. If career or school goals are on your radar, you could channel your deep work into projects that align with those. And hey, personal growth is always a winner. You could work on building your confidence, improving communication skills, or even getting into meditation just pick something you're curious about or passionate about

small pewter
# slow bronze Anyone knows how to handle insomnia? It's 3 am and I cant sleep 😭

dealing with insomnia is tough🫂 but there are a few things you can try. try having a regular sleep schedule can help, so try to sleep and wake up at the same time every day. Make sure your sleep space is comfy too you know, cozy blankets, the right temperature, all that good stuff. Oh, and put away screens before bedtime. They mess with your sleep hormones. If you're a caffeine lover, steer clear in the hours leading up to sleep. And also, a little exercise during the day can actually help you sleep better at night. If your mind's racing, give relaxation techniques a shot, deep breathing, meditation, they can help calm you down. or u can get up and do something soothing until you feel tired. And remember, if this keeps up, it's smart to chat with a healthcare pro. They've got more tricks up their sleeve to help you sleep better

My main question- is how to stick to my routine- and not procrastinate and concentrate better- and get my tasks done on time-

Hey! It's ok not to get everything done directly, don't blame yourself too much. If you want to get better at doing your things, you should set achievable goals, and break large tasks into smaller. And maybe try to eliminate distractions, either with something to lock your phone while you work, or to stop you from accessing easily youtube and things on your computers.
You could also tell someone about your to do list or your goals so they can hold you accountable.

Hey guys, I could use some help:

I have a bad habit of checking my phone first thing after waking up. Even before putting on my glasses. It’s a bad habit I’ve been trying to kick for years. When I mean “checking my phone”, I mean, right after turning off my alarm, I go straight to Instagram - probably due to FOMO. FOMO + the thought that maybe my long distance friends sent me a message. I’ve noticed that when I use a non-phone alarm, it kinda helps, and also charging my phone on my desk or across the room. By placing my phone somewhere that requires me to get out of bed to turn off my alarm, that’s been useful for not snoozing. Besides not sleeping with my phone next to me, what are some things/ways I can avoid checking my phone first thing after waking up?

# austere dagger Can you give me an example of your goals?

Well, I study to learn new stuff because I like to learn and i like challenges So math is fun at times

You really need to find in it what is valuable to you and you can connect a purpose to it, to answer the question of "why am I doing this?"

Tbh even I don't 'like' studying but I just understand that I have to do it anyway, and I hear people talk about self-discipline and they talk about "doing things even when you don't feel like it" and to me that sounds cool, and I see James and I'm fascinated by this guy's character and that sparks something in me to be like him so that's there too

#

But of course, all this motivation stuff gets you really pumped up and then when you actually get to the work, it's not very exciting, it's just sitting down and reading and writing and thinking about how stuff works and then the feelings come in and say "this isn't very fun" but then you realize that you're supposed to do it and what you can do then is just accept it and be like "if I have to do this to get there, then fine i'll do it"

#

Even David Goggins gets those feelings yk

#

But he just pushes through it

#

That's why he's the toughest man in the world rn

robust dove
# austere dagger Can you give me an example of your goals?

my goal or fear you could say is dying with less knowledge about the world. That could be in any way, learning less or travelling less, not knowing people. So everyday i learn the things I learn to achieve that. Create myself opportuities to travel, learn, meet new people, know more minds and stuff. Sometimes I loose sight of this ofc. All the work, study, it feels like a chore but practically speaking it will enable me to live the life i like. And tbh studying and working is less harder than living miserably, be it emotional misery or physical.

small pewter
# wraith junco hey guys, do you have any good tips on how to be more productive ?

and firstly, set some clear goals. knowing what you're aiming for is key. Then, figure out the top priority stuff and settle those first. If things seem too big, break 'em down into smaller ones. have you heard or tried of the Pomodoro Technique? Work for 25 minutes, then take a 5minute chill break, it keeps you focused.
for distractions. Put ur phone on silent, close those extra tabs. you're a human, not a robot, take care of yourself. Eat well, move around, and make sure you're getting enough sleep.
If you have a bunch of to do listh, set achievable goals for the day. there are tons of apps/webs out there to keep you organized.

small pewter
# austere dagger Guys I’m in high school but when i try to study I can’t and I ask myself why I’m...

Hey! I get you. studying in high school can feel like a real drag sometimes. But here's the thing, finding some motivation and making studying less of a snooze-fest is doable. First off, think about what gets you excited about the future. What kind of job or life do you want? Having a goal in mind can give studying a purpose. And speaking of goals, set some! They don't have to be crazy big uk, acing a test or just getting through a chapter can be goals too.
When you're facing a mountain of notes, break it down. Focus on small ones at a time, so it's way less overwhelming. And hey, everyone's got their style. Try different ways of studying, maybe flashcards or explaining stuff to a friend? Find what clicks for you!
Connect what you're learning to real life or watch videos to mix things up.
also stay away from distractions, like your phone and social media, it helps a alot. And don't be afraid to take breaks and do stuff you love. If things are still feeling bad talk it out with a teacher or counselor, they've got tips and support.
Just remember, it's okay to question things sometimes, but finding your "why" and setting some goals can light that motivation fire. High school might feel like a never-ending ride, but the skills you pick up now will shape your future. You got this,!!

small pewter
# slender willow Hey guys, I could use some help: I have a bad habit of checking my phone first ...

trying to break that phone checking habit in the morning is a great goal, and it sounds like you're on the right tracknevergiveup_static maybe try 2 keep your phone away from your bed? charging it across the room can really help bc thats what i do HAHHAHA. maybe using an alarm clock instead of your phone's alarm might make it easier to resist the urge to scroll right away, because i do that too! You could also try setting a morning routine that doesn't involve your phone, like doing some light stretches. And hey, if FOMO's the issue, you might want to tweak your Instagram feed to make it more positive. It's all about finding what works for you, so don't stress if it takes a little time to break the habit. You got this

# analog trench hey guys, how do you prepare for the start of the semester?

first things first, check out your syllabus to know what's up. Then, get your things sorted, folders, notebooks, pens, all that stuff. don't forget to mark down class times, assignments, and exams in your calendar. make sure you've got your supplies game on point.

Got any subjects you're a bit rusty in? take a quick review to freshen up. and also set some goals for the semester? like what do you want to achieve? Also, create a comfy study spot that's free from distractions. Backup your notes digitally, trust me, it's a lifesaver, bc thats what i do too HAHHAHA Keep up with good habits too, sleep, exercise, healthy eats and connect with classmates for those study sessions. And don't be shy, introduce yourself to your professors early on. Finally, stay positive and take care of yourself, you've got this!

slender willow
# small pewter trying to break that phone checking habit in the morning is a great goal, and it...

I’ve tried that a few times, and it’s kinda successful! Chafing it somewhere that’s not my alarm clock. It also helps me because getting up makes me less likely to snooze. As for FOMO, I mostly follow other people, not celebs or content creators. I guess the FOMO comes from missing smth in another person’s life and also the frequent thought of “there might be a text from someone!” Especially since I have friends who live far from me

small pewter
# slender willow I’ve tried that a few times, and it’s kinda successful! Chafing it somewhere tha...

ohhhthat's great to hear that you've found a strategy that's working for you! Moving your phone away from your alarm clock is a clever way to break the habit of checking it first thing in the morning, and it's awesome that it's also helping you avoid hitting the snooze button.
As for FOMO, it totally makes sense, social media can trigger that feeling, esp when you're following friends and seeing glimpses of their lives. One thing you might consider is setting specific times for checking your phone. For exp, you could make a rule to check your phone only after you've completed your morning routine? or finished your first task of the day. This way, you're in control of when you engage with your phone, rather than it being the first thing you do upon waking up. Also, remember that texts and messages will still be there even if you wait a bit before checking your phone. Your friends will understand if you take a little time to get back to them. And ik staying connected with friends who live far away is important, but taking care of yourself and starting your day on your terms is important too. i can see you're making progress, and every small step counts toward breaking habits and forming healthier ones. Keep up the good work, and remember that it's all about finding what works best for younevergiveup_static

I was like that. I can't give you a magic solution, I did stop, forced myself to replace games with work but in a positive way, trained myself to feel pleasure while studying, not feeling like it was a burden. But you gotta find your way of doing it, train your brain to like doing things that are otherwise hard. If you can feel good about achieving something outside of the game, I'm pretty sure you can switch that dopamine shot. Don't blame yourself for struggling with it though. It took me time before even willing to take the step you just took and asking myself if maybe video games were problematic for my energy. Of course you don't have to replace it with work, I did it because I needed to, but you can read, walk, hang out, meditate, or whatever you feel like. But if you think you want to change you can do it.

Sleep early and don't snooze! If you wake up 10 minutes before your alarm just get up, when the alarm rings fight yourself and just get up, don't close your eyes again. Once your up you're good, don't drink coffee first thing, makes you more tired, wait at least 2 hours, you can also try to take a walk, or get sunlight either through your window or outside (if the sun is up when you wake up)

by literally anything

#

it's hard to explain

#

but i'll be sitting at my desk and get lost in thoughts for long periods of time as if i were drunk

and i'm unconscious of the present moment and the world around me

#

and then i also drift away on the internet when i have to do something on the internet

#

i mean i get it when i'm being obviously stupid

#

but its like even work related stuff can take me away from work

#

i'll read something or see somthing and then i'll remember an old reference in my memories and i'm off to the clouds

there was a point in time where i could control my shit

but now it's completely gone

#

or that's what it feels like

#

i want to get that mental state back

when i know what i'm supposed to be doing and i'm constantly aware of how shit can go wrong so then i always have my eyes open

staring at it all

remaining vigilant

to not drift away

and to force myself to do what i'm supposed to do

#

burying my emotions and childish impulses and getting to work

i had that

#

i want to get it back

#

how in the world am i supposed to fix this?

and it sounds so simple

# wraith junco Guys I need help !! How do you do to do sport while studying ? I feel like i don...

it might feel like a challenge, but you've got options. First up, try scheduling in some workout time, even if it's just a quick one. If you're into multitasking, combine studying with exercise, like listening to study stuff while going for a walk. And maybe u can use those study breaks for doing a few jumping jacks or stretches , maybe itll boosts your focus! Now, when to do it? Choose what suits you best, either as a morning energizer or a chill evening winddown. You don't need to spend ages on it. Short, intense workouts like HIIT can do wonders.
If you're all about social vibes, invite friends to join you, it's like a mini party with bonus fitness. And setting fitness goals keeps you motivated, kinda like your study goals.
Remember, even during study time, you can stay active, stand, stretch, or even use a bouncy ball as your study chair. It's about finding stuff you enjoy too, dance, yoga, anything goes. Don't sweat it if you miss a workout. Plus, moving isn't just good for your bod; it boosts your mood and brain power for studying. Give it a shot, and you'll see how it can make a cool difference in your life

Totally get where you're coming from. Starting a new school year can feel a bit daunting, espwhen you're not sure about having friends in your classes. First off, being optimistic and open is awesome. Just walk in with a smile, make eye contact, and maybe even start conversations with simple greetings. People are usually drawn to positive vibe. Being yourself is key. Don't worry, it's not silly at all. Just embrace who you are and own it. You'll attract people who appreciate you for you. And hey, if you're aiming to be more open, try asking questions about others' interests, people love talking about themselves.
As for that new class, you can make friends there too! Sit next to someone and strike up a conversation about the class, assignments, or just introduce yourself. Finding common ground is a great way to kick things off. Remember, everyone's looking to make connections, so you're not alone in this. And sometimes, even small gestures like a smile or a "hello" can go a long way in making new friends. You got this

I totally get where you're coming from. Videogames can be a great way to unwind, but it sounds like they're also getting a bit draining. Balancing relaxation and avoiding burnout is key. Maybe you could try setting time limits for gaming? like an hour or so, to make sure it doesn't become overwhelming. Also, consider mixing up your free time activities, going for a walk, reading, or anything that can be refreshing. And hey, if videogames are your chill zone, that's cool! Just make sure they're not the only thing in your relaxation toolkit. Remember, it's about finding that sweet spot where you get the downtime you need without feeling wiped out. You got this!

i think is about their time management game. First off, they're like pros at scheduling. They divide their day into chunks for classes, filming, hitting the gym, and more. Plus, they're all about setting goals they can actually reach. When theyre abt to study, i think most of them are using the Pomodoro method, which is a focused work followed by quick breaks. And they probably use apps and tools to keep everything running smoothly.
i think the flexibility is key. But they still make sure to fit in some chill time and self care, it's like their secret weapon. maybe just being in the moment is enough , plan ur things properly, and knowing when to say "no" if things get too crazy for u . It's all about finding that groove that works for you, so don't be afraid to adjust things until you nail it.

small pewter
# wraith junco Also if you have tips to wake up early (this is my biggest problem ever !!!)

the struggle to wake up early is realHappyjoms But don't worry. maybe try to set a consistent sleep schedule, like going to bed and waking up at the same time every day helps regulate your internal clock. And speaking of sleep, create a calming bedtime routine to help you wind down. then put your alarm clock or phone across the room so you have to get out of bed to turn it off. And natural light is like my enemy, so ill try opening the curtains,it works for me imo. And remember, take small steps. Start by waking up just a bit earlier each day until you reach your goal wakeup time. It's not easy at first, but once you get into the groove, those early hours can be pretty awesome. You got this.

maybe this has smtg to do with anxiety? (not sure). u can try when u realized u were drifting away, try to focus on ur breath and take a few slow breaths again, it prob can help u to recentre urself and come back into the present moment. or u can try getting up and walking around to help u refocus ur attention

try to focus doing the work and achieving the outcome, rather than thinking about the ways that could go wrong. focusin on the goals can help to motivate u and encourage u

small pewter
# oak cedar but why the hell is it so damn hard to just do it

it can feel difficult to just do it when ur experiencing like this, strat by trying to tackle thnigs one step at a time. try to focus on the task infront of u and not worry too much about other potential problems or challenges that might crop up. if u try to force yr way through things, u might end up feeling discouraged and overwhelmed, making it even harder to jsut do it in the future. so try and take it slowly and break things down into smaller task and goals

It's common for people with anxiety to feel overwhelmed and to worry about things going wrong. It's understandable that you would feel this way given what you've been through before. remember that things can go right as well as wrong and that the focus should be on achieving the right outcome and not on preventing something bad from happening. focus on the present instead of worrying about possible negative outcomes, and take things one step at a time, this can help to make the task at hand more manageable and less likely to be overwhelming

omg it's awesome that you're going into philosophy for the first time. , I recommend checking out some philosophy books like Sophie's World by Jostein Gaarder or The Philosophy Book by DK. If you're into videos, CrashCourse on YouTube has a great series on philosophy that's both entertaining and informative. Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy online is a good resource for diving deeper into specific topics.

I totally get where you're coming from. Gaming addiction can really shift priorities and impact things you're passionate about. But the good news is, you're aware of it and making moves to reclaim your time and interests. Guitar playing for almost a decade is amazing wow you've got skillsHappyjoms As you keep stepping away from gaming and back into your guitar, those techniques you've been eyeing will start falling into place. # naive nimbus Does anyone feel confused about the direction of his life in his early 20s

ofc, feeling a bit lost and confused about where life is headed in your early 20s is super common. It's like this whole phase of trying to figure out what the heck you're supposed to do next. Don't stress too much, so many of us have been there. It's all part of the adventure. Just take it step by step, explore different paths, and give yourself the freedom to make mistakes and learn along the way. You're not alone in this journey of figuring things out
