So, 2 things i got from it :
On a personnal level, you understand how ambition can drive people to act seemingly without morals. You realize every action has meaning, whether it is intentionnal or not, and morals are often just a barrier. You dont have to be honorable to climb high, but you have to show stability and strength to not get ousted ny your ennemies

On a political level, you understand how those who lead us are humans with human flaws as well, sometimes they arent working fort their own good as much as they think themselves, and very importantly : their main goal is NOT prosperity, it's keeping their grip on power, quash possible compétition, elevate others who wont give them trouble

At the end of the book, macchiavellian will have another definition to you

I read the 48 laws of power and at first it made me feel that everyone was just fake and evil (i was 14) but later realised these power battles happen on all spectrems of society, and that understanding them will only benefit me navigate the space (and you will have to be in this space in society). Great analysis, ill actually get the book

The reason most people do things without being able to stop is stress and seeking stress relief. Like you feel stressed, so you get an urge to watch youtube (or various other urges for dif people), then you watch the thing and feel less stressed. But you gotta replace the activity thats hurting you with something that will take care of that stress, or you will get drawn back to it.

Or you can think about what's stressing you and find a different way to evaluate it that is less stressful to you.

Also the best solution to stress is usually to do something that solves the unpleasant thing that is giving you stress. Many things though are outside of our control, and as such shouldn't be stressed about or worried about.
