Recently this has been on my mind as well since someone close to me experienced similar things in respect to his/her behavior towards others and the world.

Depending on whether you feel, guilt, shame, punished, you may ask yourself what that feeling truly means. Generally, it should be considered as an alarm, as a reminder to do better next time, to pay attention to that aspect of your life and behavior. Sometimes guilt/shame/punishment is not in proportion to what you did, but rather amplified by culture, expectations, mimetics and such. Try to really understand the essential flaw that has set upon you. What is holding you back inside you? That is not an easy task.

Try to understand whether this guilt has been proposed by other people or came from within you (perhaps with good contributions of others). If you intrinsically agree with this guilt, it means you are better than what you did. You know it. This is huge, you're at least not blind to it, the goal is in hands reach! You're enlightened already.

What could help is to imagine the person you were during your 'bad person act', and consider whether you could have known better without this warning of guilt or shame. Since you did not act accordingly, as you would have wished, means that some means of alarming you was perhaps necessary. Again, this 'alarm' should come from inside you, you must agree regardless of social standards, that you have acted not according to YOUR standards. You are a better human than you think.

It is your choice, and I support you through this, to use this feeling of shame as a gift, a valuable insight to focus on that cumbersome aspect of your being to improve the way you envision yourself.

this is kinda mean, but my take on it is this: (quality of work) = (time spent)(focus), and along with that Correct Inputs --> Beneficial Outputs --> Eat healthy, Sleep well, Drink water, Go outside + get sunlight, Exercise regularly, study = good marks is a fantasy, good marks are a result from keeping strong habits and keeping the body strong, not just the body.
