If it means that you don't have time to connect with (good) friends and family in the evening because they're only available in the evening for good reasons, then you have to take that into account.
It is also only doable on the long term if you regulate your sleep hygiene or otherwise you can mess up your rythm and even mood for some people. Sleep is important!
I think it can be powerful to do during short periods like exams, but to maintain... Again, it really depends on who you are, your social circle, your priorities...
On the other hand, there are people who work late after everyone has gone to bed (until 4 am lol) which has the benefit of being left alone. Though, since you've been awake for quite some time, your 'mental RAM', could already be filled with other stuff making it harder to focus....
