For YouTube I struggled for a good few months. What I did was cherry picked a few people I like watching (like jvschloz) and signed out of YouTube on my laptop and installed unhook extension to disable the distracting elements from the website like shorts, recommended sidebar and the homepage. This way I can use youtube on my laptop just for viewing important stuff like lectures when needed and the fact that I can't even engage in the comments like replying and liking videos, makes it even more valuable watching a video. If I find something interesting in the search I just save the link as a bookmark in my browser. On my phone, I uninstalled youtube using ADB (I use android) and installed a foss client from f-droid called pipepipe which just has a subscription homepage which shows new videos only from your select few local subscriptions. So when I have nothing important to do, I waste my time that way, which is less harmful imo. Plus most of the times my phone is on silent/grayscale filter anyway.

Hopefully this helps someone. I'm finally free of this addiction. Sorry for my poor English!

but i've found cheaper spiral notebook from muji, so i use it instead

muji also has binded books, but i haven't used them
if you use any regular pens it should be fine, and muji paper is usually guaranteed to work with the pens that they sell
