Tbh I genuinely can’t stand Hollywood’s portrayal of autism because it’s almost always associated with either savant syndrome or some kind of intellectually gifted person (usually children). I like to think of it as just nature giving us a different approach to cognitive development

It’s so unflattering when people have to go and associate geniuses with autism. Whilst it is somewhat true that many people with ASD (generally speaking) do well in academics, it doesn’t mean that autistics are “smarter” than neurotypical people. I’ve been to a psychiatric hospital, it helped me personally a lot being there. (Im not gonna say more lmao)

A few months after I was discharged I needed surgery - I was asked by a nurse if I had any mental illnesses. She had to write them on a band on my wrist for Anesthesiologists… When I told her I had clinical depression she looked me in the eyes and told me to my face,”Well we all have depression don’t we?” (while laughing at me), left and didn’t let me continue.

The worst part of everything was that all I could do at the time was laugh with her and say,”yeah I know”. It’s one of my biggest regrets in life so far.

50/50 I've seen people use them productively R.E. James, and I've seen people just leave them on their shelves doing nothing. It's a "worse" ipad to most people, unless you plan on HARDCORE focus on school, I don't recommend personally, along with that just because an e-ink device does less, does not mean it'll cost less. Quite the opposite in fact.

TLDR; If you don't need the eink technology, you're overpaying for what you are getting.
