It definitely is but some parts of learning can be more frustrating than others. Like for example, I hate math, with a passion, and I just went through a Cryptography chapter and they start going into detail about block ciphers stream ciphers and a bunch of other vocabulary.

Instead of him trying to understand people more and find a job that makes him feel fulfilled and valuable, he's just being selfish and going off to live alone. At the same time, we have people like doctors, teachers, engineers who study very hard, work very hard for people.

i do believe contributing is good and something people should do, if they can but no one is under obligation to do so 🤔 especially if they are not capable of doing so in the current state they are in. imo, once they have fulfilled their own needs and are satisfied with where they are in life, they should contribute to society (if they so wish) 🤔

to respond to the example you've given, it is selfish, sure but you gotta be selfish sometimes. it doesn't make you a bad person if it isn't harming anybody else. not everybody wants to contribute to society. some people just wanna chill and lead a simple, peaceful life and i don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. i'd love to do the same, if i had the choice.

not everyone wants to get a job, either. i think most of us just get one because we gotta survive somehow 🤷‍♂️ most of my friends would rather not work. if he can live off of what hes earned or has subsistence strategies enough to help him live in the wrong run, it's all well and good.

i wouldn't define people in terms of the value they have. i think that's a very strange concept. also, why can't someone just exist without being compared to another? sure, losing a doctor is much more of a loss than losing someone who isn't one but that doesn't lessen their value 😭 giving humans a 'value' feels dehumanising and wrong. it makes them sound like a commodity.

I wouldn’t call him selfish because he worked hard for the house. I think living a good life is living a life you can be proud of. And what would make you proud of yourself is different for everyone but it always involves challenging yourself and getting yourself out of your comfort zone. Personally if feels weird to put an overall value on a human because it feels like you’re trying to see who’s more worthy of living. I think everyone is equally worthy of living and hopefully I’ll never be in a position where I have to decide who gets to live.

@quaint surge definitely berserk. I would watch the 90's anime first (is on YouTube) so you have a soundtrack to read the manga with. Keep in mind that there is some difference in that the anime takes place in a specific period of the manga and there is a flashback at some point I think. so do your research on the chapters while avoiding spoilers.

the baki series of manga and anime is also good. I have the same advice.
