Does anyone have any clue to what might be going on? I’m using the MKE-Mini with the updated software for the Vek/Walsh 85.

Sounds like a power problem. What are you using for a power supply?

I spliced a connector to this MagSafe battery pack and been using it with USB A.

Says the output out of the type A is 2.1A or 5V

Fully charged?

fair oriole
#

Fully charged

#

Only issue is the battery pack shuts down

somber stratus

Ah... you have a "smart battery". We designed the PENELOPE for that so it tricks the battery into staying on while not draining it.

fair oriole

Would that be what’s causing the servos to act like that? And do you got a battery pack that wouldn’t turn off?

Do you get that buzzing noise when the servo is not in the helmet? It sounds stressed.

fair oriole
#

Like if I take it out and just do it?

*** Also *** Is the USB cable you are using rated for Power ? NOT all USB cables can handle power, some of them restrict the amount of power and can only deliver Data. Make sure the USB Cable is designed for “Charging”

I’m wondering if it’s the weight of the faceplate. Faceplate and the motorization arms were printed at 10% infill

ocean furnace
#

Whats your process for attaching the servo arms to the faceplate?

Forgot to mention this helmet’s scaled to 104

There’s a specific way to attach your servos/arms from dome to faceplate.

Your servo sounded good without the faceplate thats why I was checking.

Typically you attach your helper arms from faceplate to dome and tape the faceplate in place.

Power up servos without the arms on so they home to closed position. Attach servo arms to faceplate.

Then you can remove the tape and test it out.

#

Did you install the switch yet?

fair oriole
#

Didn’t install the switch no

fair oriole
#

Faceplate comes up but craps out and falls down

ocean furnace
#

Do you have your LED eyes plugged into the board?

Starting to wonder about the weight of the faceplate. It's not easy, but I've been able to print faceplates with 5% infill and 2 walls.

fair oriole
#

It’s at 10% infill rn

ocean furnace
# fair oriole The servo arm screws, how tight do you put em

You need to feel it out for yourself. When you fully tighten the arms it will be tough to manually open and close.

I’m not sure about the single servo you’re using but with the MG90s any tension or binding will stop them from opening.

So I will fully tighten, then back off slightly until the movement is smooth.

Getting there. Weird how it pauses before fully closing.

fair oriole
#

I was trying to figure that out yesterday

fair oriole
#

@somber stratus is it possible for you to explain how to modify the code on the board? Maybe if we put the closing speed higher it’ll work better (since I think it’s 225 for opening and 175 for close)

The Shape did you manage to fix your problem ? I have the same problem like you right now...

fair oriole
#

Yet now I’m having issues with the MG90s servos

gray skiff
#

Thats how its for me atm...

fair oriole
#

It was working perfectly fine until a few days ago, I think it’s the servos stripped the geared servo arm ngl

#

I’m testing it with a new one this weekend

# flat tide Any update? I have the Mg90 servos and mines doing this

Mine’s working fine, you probably didn’t home your servos cause it looks like it is in the “closed” spot with the faceplate in the middle. Take your servo arms off, power on the board again, then one you hear it go on, test it out. Make sure you put the servos in the closed position, then reattach the servos

I accidentally got the 360 ones but they work fine for me

fair oriole

Interesting

My mask is a little bigger though so it needs about 190 degrees of rotation to fully open so I guess it’s a blessing in disguise

I fixed mine too

#

The chin need some more work, it doesnt slide to the end on the opposide side of the servo arm. But i think that is gonna be easy fix.
