Yes. The metal part at the and should have a tiny piece sticking up

You bend that up very carefully and when you push the metal part back it in should klick and then cable is back in.

Whats worring me more are the brown spots. Was that glue or did something melt?

The part doesn't have a tab to bend back in place
As for the brown spot it was a little dirt

Dont know if you mean you personally or you as a user.. but as a user yes. That's just a standard connector. Can usually just push it back in, but you can find replacement pieces and crimpers on amazon
