And which filament?
Pla
I downloaded a plug in on cura for a retraction test sliced it like normal but can’t print it as it comes of my build plate after 12 ish minutes of printing
Try 220c and 65c bed
Thought increased temp would make sticking worse
Yes no
Too cold molecules dont separate
Too hot water evaporates or the material decomposes
Also its the easiest to test other then like chech hotend assembly, thr gcode preview etc
And since the n3 is quite fast to cold is often the reason
Should re do my helmet print and see if that works or something else?
Maybe make a stringing test first
Ok is it alright if I keep this up untill tomorrow and message you back it’s late for me and have to head off
Good night
Night
Went to try my stringing test and it came of the build plate and the brim is messed up
I haven’t done anything to my printer since downloading a plugging to get a bunch of tests it’s called autotower since then my brim won’t print right
The only other thing I can thing of that would ruin the br is that I looked and clicked on the other ones like skirt raft but changed it back
I’m so confused
How do I find that?
Joke aside. Usally thats the file your slicer creates and you send to your printer. Like stringingtower_50min.gcode or so
You can send the stl too if you want but the gcode is more important because i can read it and see if something is missing
That not looking too bad 🙂
It seems you did not set a z offset
You can also try going into your slicer and uncomment the m420 command by removing the ; at the beginning. (I would also remove the Z10 with it because z fade is annoying)
im confused
it was running fine and now its not and i have to change code
You might have had been lucky that everything was level enough so you did not need it
You can double check all the mechanics screw and wash the bed with water and soap too
Printers get weird over time. Lagerones like to tillt the x axis from time to time for example
ahh ok so how do i change the gcode
also with changing the g code do i have to do everytime with a print i want to do or not?
IVE FIX THE BRIM ISSUES THE FILE WAS CORRUPED IN A WAY
running the stringing test
No I didn’t do that as I’m not sure how too
Forgot to double check the temp but
Temp was 210 nozzle and 65 bed temp
Brim came out a bit bad but that because I may have move a dial or two on the bed level
I think the pla is moist and you need to dry it
What if i told you that you already have everything you need to assemble one of the best filament dryers available? Don't believe me? In this video i'll show you how, with a combination of very simple principles, we can all dry filament without an oven for free.
....................................................................................
When I first started the print it was fresh had a few failures but once i got it going it was day 3 of it being out
Filament absorbs moisture over time or is mostly moist out of the box due water cooling while productio
Drag roll of filament and at 220 nozzle temp still with string
Hmm do check your hot end if there is a leak 🙂 if not check your retraction values
how do i check retraction values
it did leak a little bit after the print was finshed so imma bring the temp down
I mean leaking between block and nozzle or heatbreak not oozing
The retraction values are in your slicer too
any suggestions on what i should put it at
What do you have
Id try 1.5mm and a speed of 35
running a test now for it
It’s still happening
220 nozzle
And the settings you set
just testing the retract spped at 50
50 mms speed or distance?
Because distance is 2 to 3 mm tops otherwisr you end up with a clog in the heat break
It was speed sorry
and it did nothing
should i do 2mm retract in at 35 spped
@bright sierra
or do put it back too 1.5 retract in and 35 spped and turn on combinding mode?
what is the humidity of that filament? I didn't see it anywhere.
Id try that
But just as a reminder which printer do you have agsin?
elegoo neptune 3 pro
it doesn't say anywhere
it still did nothing still having stringing issues
@bright sierra
im not sure if im doing it wrong
i edit the settings then re slince it and thats it
is that right
so what is the humidity of the filament? water retention can cause stringing problems, and the N3 is an open printer, so even when that filament is almost bonedry after a few hours it contains to much moist and should be dried.
if its too dry it might also cause problems.
ive done some more digging and found an old reddit(1 year ago) post apperntly an issue with cura and the neptune 3 pro and i have to change the retration in the cura files
still confused
I stopped using cura completely and switched to Orca. I like Orca better, not because cura had problems with my N3 max.
this is what i found
as for humidity, check it, even out of the vacuum sealed bag filament might be too moist and moist means stringing etc. It might pay of to get a filament dryer
do you recon i should try drying or do what they say in the imaige
i would start drying, and i would switch to orca slicer, prusa slicer or bambu studio they are all from the same origin. you have more people that can help, believe me. ultimaker has made it abundantly clear, that they are absolutely not interested in hobbyists.
ill give it a look
do you mind if i contact you if i still have issues as your the only one i know with a n3
??
that's fine, send me friends request, we can talk direct then, sound and/or video.
because typing is hard for me, my left hand is paralized, so speech works better for me.
thanks for your help
also sent a rewuest over
just to say im english so imma have to head of for tonight and try one of the other slicers to see if they help
I'm from the netherlands, so i know the drill 🙂
i would go for orca. i'll tell you later why. So Good night for now
night imma close this down tommorw i think
Not sure should that be off
For a test yes
I’ll have to test it later
still having stringing
turned on advanced any of these help me out
On the right is with out combing mode on and the left is it on does seem to do anything I thing the settings are t saving or something @bright sierra
can it be that fact that its prtining at 0.2 mm
