I’m making a Helldivers 2 helmet and I want to know if anyone has any advice on how to easily and evenly get the yellow stripes? I’ve already made one and it took me a few hours just to get each one somewhat even, I masked off the rest of the helmet and spray painted the stripe on that way. Evenly masking is the hard part. I figured there’s gotta be an easier way to do this. Thanks!

Hey @dusty summit, thank you for contributing to this forum.
Please provide as much information (images, video, description) as you can. This will increase the chance that someone can help you with your issue.

Could you not just mask them off just the edges of the stripes not the whole helmet and hand paint them with a sponge brush, saves taping off the whole thing as shouldn’t be any overspray.
That’s essentially what I did but spray painted instead of hand painted. My issue is getting it masked off evenly
You might benefit from fine line vinyl tape, it can be stretched to form curves and edges with clean lines, it’s used in automotive painting. It’s not too expensive and used in conjunction with masking tape works well.
i struggled with this too, ended up just going for it lol
What about inverting the order of operations?
Paint the entire thing yellow. Let that fully cure and clear coat.
Then put down a stripe of tape to cover the yellow, then do the rest the base color.
I feel like you're still going to have the same issue of spacing them easily. Making a straight line on a curved surface is surprisingly difficult
What width do you use? I'm looking at getting some for the same reason.
This is the stuff
If you shop around you can normally get it cheaper.
